This review encompasses two visits within 4 days. Visit 1: Friday night, arrive close to 9:30pm and place was pretty empty. There was one other table and just a few people at the bar. Waitress was also the bartender and really hustled. She couldn’t have worked any harder or faster. Ordered an unsweetened iced tea and even though it’s not on the menu, she brewed a hot tea and iced it down but it wasn’t lacking any boldness. The Georgia Peach cocktail was very tasty, but it is potent! Started with Buffalo wings and we were impressed! The crispy exterior, even sauce coating, juicy meat and then dipped in creamy blue was a great start! Ordered(3) different orders of sliders– Chicken and Waffles, Pulled Pork and Burnt Ends. The Chicken and Waffles was amazing. The waffle was fresh and had a hint of cinnamon in the batter. The crispy chicken was very juicy and it was topped with maple apple butter(yum!!) and slaw. The burnt ends were chunky, not hardened and had a nice flavor. The pulled pork was not finely shredded, which I like. The sauce selection was not a choice, but quite tasty. Definitely would give 4 stars because I’m deducting 1 star for the open windows that let in quite a few bugs and also allowed smoke from the patrons(and owner) outside. Visit 2: Tuesday night at 8:30pm and there are 2 tables with a few people at the bar, a different waitress and the owner. There was another man at the end of the bar who was rather loud, talking on speaker phone and having«meetings» with kitchen staff at the bar so the patrons could hear all about their performance. Big no-no. We wanted to try something different so started with the bacon wrapped pork belly in jalapeño maple glaze and the spinach and artichoke dip with chips. 35 minutes after ordering appetizers, the Waitress comes by and says just a few more minutes. Really?!? Obviously the kitchen staff was stopped from making the order because they were being pulled to the front bar to meet. The only entertainment was the over served man at the bar and the constant swatting at the flies and mosquitoes because again, every window was wide open. Finally, the food arrives and a AWFUL smell fills the dining room. It’s straight from a dumpster. The other table complained and the waitress said the cooks leave the back door open and she’ll close it. The bacon wrapped pork belly was terrible. The bacon exterior was so dried out that I couldn’t actually chew threw any of the back and only the pork belly. The spinach and artichoke dip arrived but was a mound of spinach and non melted cheese in the center of a bowl, surrounded by thin cheese soup. I called over the owner and explained that my first visit was Friday night and it was great but is there a different cook because the dip is terrible and the bacon is awful. He said«It’s the same cook. So you’re complaining about the dip? It doesn’t look right. Let me take this.» He took the dip and returned less than 5 minutes later with a hot dip that was solid. There must have been a solid pound of cheese mixed with frozen spinach and some cream. We didn’t touch it. The main course was the Cinco de Mayo sliders and an order of ribs with an add on of pulled pork. Sides were mac and cheese, fries and it comes with corn bread. The sliders were cooked on one side literally. They didn’t flip them and cook evenly but I like medium rare so I went with it. The buns were hard and either reheated stale bread or way over toasted. The aioli was non existent. The add on side of pulled pork was quite good and still thicker pieces. The ribs were not falling off the bone. The fries were fries with some Cajun style season lightly dusted on top. The Mac and cheese was horrendous. Clumps of congealed cheese and room temperature macaroni. The waitress didn’t return to ask if everything was okay and the manager never returned either. I refused to complain a second time so we abruptly paid the bill and left. This was barely a one star event. If I return, it will be to try their brunch or maybe take out chicken and waffle sliders. The owner/management really could make a killing if they focused more on the details and customer service.

Everything except the desert was excellent. The service was great even though our food did take a while to make. Everyone was very nice and would check if we needed anything often. We ordered the loaded fries that were out of this world, the bacon wrapped bacon was delicious. We got the grilled cheese for my son, waffle chicken sliders, and the brisket all were very well spiced and delicious. We were very full as the portions are huge. We decided to try the desert cuz everything else was do good. It was a disappointment the key lime pie was grainy, the tres Leche was too sweet and the oreo mouse just blah. I gave the restaurant 5 stars cuz they deserve it, but go somewhere else for desert.

After reading all the great Unilocal reviews we thought we would try as BBQ is a favorite. From having lived in the South and traveling to many regional areas, all with their own twist from dry rub to vinegar flavoring, it was exciting to have the possibility of breakthrough BBQ in Queens. Unfortunately both the quality of food and presentation was a huge let down. Starting out with the ambiance there was none. This is ok for BBQ, but the dark dreary more bar than restaurant interior was not inviting, as was the fact that the door and windows were wide open. When we entered we saw 4 tables of two occupied, with about the same number sitting at the Bar. There was no one to seat us so we took a table. Shortly after a bubbly waitress presented us with menus that looked interesting. We soon learned she was the only server on a Friday evening shift. The drill for ordering was you had a choice for the BBQ combos of two sides. After making a selection our server advised us that they were moving to a «Summer Menu» and that one of the sides we ordered for the Baby Back combo was not available and could only be replaced with corn on the cob. One of the sides we had originally requested was potato salad which we were told was not available, and which subsequently appeared, as we were waiting for our meal, to the occupants of the table directly next to ours. There was a rather long wait to be served, and our server came over after a while to tell us it would be only a short time remaining until we we received our meal. This was right after someone else in the kitchen brought out a tray with food and attempted to serve us. It turned out the order was in fact for the adjacent table. When our order arrived I did receive the corn. However it turned out to be an inedible very dried out end piece =1/3 of an ear of corn & plated directly next to my ribs. The ribs themselves were cold, fatty, and of low quality. The BBQ sauce itself was quite good as was the cornbread which was uncommonly moist and flavorful. The other side ordered was cold slaw served in a good sized bowl. The top part was also quite good. However under this was clearly an older serving of cold slaw that had been sitting around a while with an off taste. My wife ordered a cheeseburger which came with a thin slice of unappetizing and overripe tomato. She reported the meat was good although overdone. A few other things to point out. They advertise valet parking for dinner. However there was nobody there to provide this service. Also their lot for parking has a one lane access. As it turned out a vehicle was parked at the front blocking any access. We wound up parking on a side street about a ¼ of a mile away. I always hate to give a bad review knowing the potential business impact. However I would have appreciated seeing a more realistic review on Unilocal, prior to making a decision to try this restaurant. I also think they may be a victim of their overall low pricing, and the limited traffic from the area they serve which is mostly residential. Clearly this all impacts food quality.

I love everything about the food, the place was nice and it wasn’t crowded, not loud at all, nice music, one side is to eat and on the other side you have the bar, the staff was very nice and always ready when you need them, the ribs were so good and tender and the chicken as well. I loved the nachos and the sweet Alabama drink, I had the tres leeches and was delicious and for checking in I got a free beer. I really recommend this place for groups as well.

The ribs was good, the brisket wasn’t all the way done and that’s what I came for so I was disappointed, mac n cheese was mushy, Cole slaw was good. I probably won’t come back

This place has great ribs! Ordered the rib platter, delicious! Came with two sides and corn bread,(corn bread is a treat in it self, buy extra!) Collard greens with bacon, and mashed potatoes is what I chose. and a shake. Would of five starred them but they forgot a fork and napkins, …rib bones make ok scoopers! Especially when the food is delish.

I’ve never written a Unilocal review as I’ve never really had a reason to. However, last night, I visited Slide BBQ and ordered the fried chicken with collard greens. It was absolutely AMAZING! I cannot compliment the chef and staff enough. We were served both white and dark meat cooked to juicy perfection. The crispness of the skin was ridiculous and the bacon bits in the collard greens gave just the right amount of a smoky essence. Love the atmosphere which is cozy and laid back. Really a great place to enjoy a great meal and to hang out in Maspeth.

This review is for delivery. The food is great but the timing of delivery sucks. They give you an estimated wait time of 40min I called after an hour and 15 minutes and the food still hadn’t left the building. 40 minute wait turns into a 1hr 40min wait. They really need to improve their delivery times. Don’t order for delivery if you’re hungry.

I went here at 6pm on a Friday night with my wife. We walked in and the place was EMPTY — I was nervous. It was a beautiful night and you would think that there would be some people/families in there eating dinner… We were seated promptly and I checked in to get my free house brew; it was delicious. We ordered the loaded alamo fries while we looked throughout the rest of the menu to see what I wanted. There were a lot of options to choose from, sliders, burgers or BBQ… wasn’t sure what to get! Throughout this time, no one was coming in so I was still a bit uneasy, however, I did see about 3 – 4 delivery orders go out. When our alamo fries came to the table we ordered 2 burgers, the american burger with cheese and the ultimate burger. I ended up getting the ultimate burger because it had the BBQ brisket so it met my craving of a burger and some BBQ. I ordered it medium but when it came to the table, it was slightly overcooked, HOWEVER, the flavor was excellent! I was pleasantly surprised and so was my wife who also loved the flavor of her burger(it was also slightly overcooked). Throughout the whole dinner though, no one came in and there were about 1 – 2 more delivery orders. That part I do not get but it didn’t look good, IMO, for a restaurant on a beautiful Friday night in an area with a lot of foot traffic. I gave it 4 stars because of the flavor. The burger was very good and I think more people should try this place.

We have ordered from here 3 times in the past five months. The first time the food was just ok but it took forever to be delivered. The second time the food came promptly. However the brisket and pulled pork were dry and chewy. The sauces were way too thick and pasty which I could have lived with if they tasted good. The third time the food was just as bad but took over an hour to arrive. Maybe if you eat in the food might be better but I wouldn’t bet on it.

Had a craving for pulled pork. I was pleased to see they serve it as sliders, but on top of lettuce, as an alternative to a bun. It went great with the Malbec from Argentina. Can I just say, I was in paradise. The food took a little long to get to the table, but it was worth the wait! Would definately take my Texan friends here when they come up to visit.

I just got back from Memphis and had all the best BBQ. My friend works here so I gave it a chance. It was soooo good. We started with the BBQ Chicken Wings. They were absolutely amazing. First they slow cook them then they deep fry them. The sauce is delicious and the bleu cheese is homemade. Next, the pulled pork. I ordered collard greens and mac and cheese(I wanted potato salad, but they ran out. That ALWAYS happens to me). I could not believe how good it was. I never finish my plate and this time I did. The collard greens had pieces of bacon. The mac and cheese was a major surprise. The blend of cheese was delicious. The fresh piece of cornbread was great. They also have a great selection of beers, vines and liquor. This is a must. I brought my family back and they loved it. Especially the pulled pork nachos, chili, the Alamo fries(heavenly) and the mashed potatoes.

Enjoying my glass of wine at this must try bbq restaurant. Service is great and food is amazing. I had the baby back ribs that fell off the bone and my friend had the classic slider. Wow! The key lime was to die for. Will be back over the weekend. Gorgeous restaurant. Very cozy.

My friend and I visited this restaurant for dinner last night. We were greeted immediately by the hostess and had our choice of seating options. We chose a table and were presented with our menus. After some browsing, I ordered brisket and fries & my friend ordered fried chicken and double fries. The food took a little while, but I attribute that to waiting for the waiting for the fried portion of our meal. Our food finally arrived at the table, my brisket looked juicy but was luke warm and my friends chicken appeared to have been butchered incorrectly, because the pieces a little unidentifiable. My brisket was moist & delicious; I also immensely enjoyed their homemade barbecue sauce. My friend wasn’t as enthused with her chicken, but her fries were good. The management and staff were very accommodating and welcoming, they checked on us several times to make sure that we didn’t need for anything. We also split a chocolate mouse dessert, which was phenomenal! I’ll definitely return to this establishment, but we’ll stick to the bbq and the drinks next time.

Came into this place just to just try a new spot and I’m glad I did. The food here was very fresh. Well seasoned and cooked right! No complaints what so ever! The bar is fully stocked with all ur beverage needs. The attention to detail for the food and hospitality was a breath of fresh air! Definitely need to come back here with a group! A must try in my book! Thanks to Rob for making us feel welcome! And compliments to the chef for the delicious food!
