Ordered takeout. Food was ready pretty fast, and was delicious last night and still delicious leftovers. Big portions, really well made. Would absolutely order there again.

This is definitely one of the nicer Filipino restaurants in the area — they’ve got a bright, spacious, and clean space. It also has more upscale décor than most Filipino spots. The hospitality matches the restaurant. Everyone was friendly and checked up on us. They had a smile on their faces every time we had to bother them for more things :) Unfortunately, the food wasn’t up to par. We got six dishes and they were all just okay. The calamari we got wasn’t crispy, and the sisig wasn’t sizzling(plus we had to wait for the rice to come out). The pancit was too peppery for my taste, and the bulalo was a bit salty. Lastly, we had the crispy pata. This was my favorite dish out of the whole meal. The skin that was crispy was delicious, and the meat was tender. Overall, I think I’d give them the benefit of the doubt and come back again to have some other dishes

Living down the block from«Little Philippines» in Woodside on 69th and Roosevelt, I’ve never really felt need to explore outside that vicinity for traditional Filipino cuisine. But after tons of recommendations from my friends and their mothers, literally, I made my way over there for dinner with my family. Definitely one of the nicer Filipino restaurants I’ve been to! The space is huge and there’s seating in the back for larger parties and for those who want to be a little more private while stuffing Lumpia into their mouthes. Food was just okay. A lot of the stars came from the good service from our friendly waitress and busser/food runner. We started with the calamari which lacked crispiness and came with about 9 soggy pieces. Save yourself the disappointment and don’t order this lol. The Sisig lacked sizzle and for something with such a standard flavor, there could’ve been more of it. Our main course consisted of ginataang sitaw, kalabasa at okra which was one of the better dishes. Deceivingly small dish, but was enough to feed 7 of us along with other dishes. The Bulalo was actually quite disappointing. Traditional Bulalo is made with beef and I’m almost 100% sure we were given pork. The bowl was huge but it lacked the dishes compliments like the corn, cabbage, and bok choy which I really enjoy. The pork pieces were huge but were made up of mostly fat, and the broth was sub-par. My father also requested a knife just to cut up all the fat so it was manageable to serve. The pancit sotanghon was also very standard. No real complaints here, just that it could’ve used a little more sauce. The Crispy Pata was definitely the dish of the night! The crispy parts were delicious and the meat was tender! It does come with its own sauce, but I recommend asking for some«Mang Tomas» — a Filipino all purpose sauce — on the side. My main complaint is that the main dishes didn’t come out all in one shot. Dishes were coming out sporadically and in no sensible order. i.e. First came the pancit, then the soup and veggies, and finally the crispy Pata. By the time the crispy Pata came out, all the other dishes were finished and there was nothing to supplement the deep fried goodness! Honestly, if the food came out in one shot, we wouldn’t have to bother the employees about the rice portioning. Also, our busser/food runner was expediting so many different dishes to different tables, it was just too crazy and unorganized. On the bright side, our busser/food runner was a superstar. Huge kudos to that guy! Definitely going to give them the benefit of the doubt and come back for different dishes!

Arrived 6PM on a Saturday and we were seated immediately! Appetizers Sisig — I guess there was some miscommunication about this dish since it didn’t come out until after we finished our dinner! The dish consists of fried pork bits rather than juicy — an egg is a must! Lumpia(fried) — Must order! My favorite dish of the night Entrée Chicken — don’t remember the name of this dish but it was lemony and you had the option of ordering half/whole portions. The chicken was juicy but I prefer more flavor. Kare Kare — I’m used to my Kare Kare being on the thicker side. This dish was a bit watery. I enjoyed the vegetables in the stew. Sides Garlic fried rice — It’s hard to mess this one up I was eyeing the Halo Halo all night but as you can see, we ordered more than enough food for 2 people! Wish I saved room for dessert T. T Even though there was miscommunication on some of our orders the employees were so nice about everything. I’m glad to have found reasonably priced authentic Filipino Cuisine outside of the city :) Next time I am definitely ordering the Lechon, Halo Halo, and Turon!

Again. They are sweet here and the food is good but the customer service is horrible. Maybe they hate me but anything i order everytime always takes forever. I see tables get their food before us when other tables arrives 10 – 15 mintues after us and ordered after

The staff was a little terse which may have been due to the packed house. The food overall was great, but some things I would not order again, such as the bitter melon. Pricing was really reasonable. They screwed up our order and gave us two of one item and refused to accept that we had not place two orders. This made the double serving of bitter melon all the more so. Whole fish order was excellent.

This place used to be good. I dont know what happened to this place. Ordered 3 things for delivery, chicken inasal(salty) pancit canton, i specifically said vegetables on the side.(the dish has all the veggies mixed in and its salty as fuck, its not even edible) and lastly beef tapa(the beef is too chewy and too oily) and to top that, the delivery was late. I tried to called them for this complaints but the restaurant isn’t answering their phone. This placed used to be one of the best Filipino restaurants in Newyork.

I love Filipino food a lot and this place served great food. The portions were big and the three of us got full with 1 appetizer and 2 entrees. Wait was very long though. I believe we came here on a weekday too and we waited more than half an hour. Worth the wait though.

While watching a show on TV I noticed they were sampling Filipino food. I was very much intrigued and did a search for the best Filipino food in nyc, Tito Rad’s was the answer. After reading the reviews on Unilocal I decided to give them a try. My husband and I went on a Friday around 2pm. We were seated right away and the hostess and staff are extremely friendly. We started off with the Shanghai Lumpia. words cannot express the WORLD of flavor wrapped in an egg roll wrapper. This is an awesome way to start the meal. so far so good. I then ordered the Lechon kawali… to say it was amazing is an understatement. These folks can cook! My husband ordered Beef adobo with Shanghai rice, he was very impressed and pleasantly surprised. The food is generous in portion and we’ll seasoned. So much so that I ordered a crispy Pata to go. I wasn’t disappointed this has been one of the best meals we’ve had all year! I like this place so much I’m going back today! I ordered online and will be there as soon as work is over to get my Tito Rad’s fix. You should really go here you won’t be disappointed.

We have been to this place twice since they moved right next door. The place is bigger now and you would assume that the sevice will be better. But it got worse. Waiting time for food to serve is unbelievably long. And the new staffs are very unexperienced. Their food taste different maybe because they changed the chef?

The food would have been great. If it was served hot. Currently clocking at an hour and twenty minute wait for our food. To boot, nothing was served together. An hour after placing our order– white rice was placed on the table. Then, a cold order of crispy pata(anyone who knows this dish knows pata has to be served hot and crispy not cold and soggy!)… What seemed like reheated fried rice… Is this tactic to create buildup for food in order to fake everyone into thinking it’s tasty; but in reality they’re just really really starving and will eat anything? One hour thirty minutes, still waiting for my final dish.

After the renovation and moving next door, the restaurant got bigger and the quality of the dishes they made has improved alot. Went here during breakfast hours and ordered tocilog. I must say that their portion has gotten bigger and the presentation of the food was just a delight to eat! If you’re near Sunnyside and craving Filipino food, I highly recommend this restaurant over its neighboring competition all day.

Good Filipino restaurant and can get easily packed. Plan to wait or plan around peak dinner time/day. Went with a large group of people, so a ton of food was ordered. The one consistent thing was, their fried food was excellent. Really crisp and not served in a pool of oil. Would come back and just order fried foods anytime. However the non-fried food was severely disappointing. The flavors within each dish just didn’t compliment each other at all. Tasted every ingredient, individually, not as a dish. Meats weren’t infused with flavor. Garnish only served a visual purpose, otherwise contributed nothing of note. Stick with the fried pork items. Sample them all and in fact place 2 orders of the fried pork belly. By far the most successful dish of the night. And totally avoid all chicken items. Waaay dry and tough. Seating for large groups was comfortable and service was friendly.

I have come here a couple times now, and I usually suggest Filipino food in Woodside but this is an exception. Service is a little slow but very friendly. I suggest getting the lumpia Shanghai one of my personal favorites for an appetizer. Bam-I Noodles is delicious. Love the Chinese sausage in it, really adds a nice flavor within the dish. And get the pork barbecue if you’re craving meat. Has a nice sweet taste to it without the meat being dry. For dessert get the Turon ! Comes with chocolate and vanilla sauce and ice cream on the side. Come here if you can !! Definitely worth it at least once.

The food was ok. Service was lack luster. Went here for a family dinner the wait time took too long, waited for a good 45 minutes and got seated on a table that was free for already 30 mins but the staff didn’t clean up. Service is very slow, and they forgot the chicken we ordered. Tuna belly was meh, and missing some seasonings. The best part was lechon kawali and the garlic rice(though the rice was undercooked) I would maybe come back with friends in another 8 months but won’t be craving for it.

More like 3.5 stars. Ordered the fresh lumpia. I thought it was gonna be fried, I probably didn’t read the description on the menu so it was unexpected when it came out steamed or something. But it wasn’t bad. We also ordered the crispy pata and chicken curry. The chicken curry was yummy, not spicy but would’ve been better if it had a little bit more pieces of chicken. The crispy pata was good, nice and fried with good amount of meat. Also had the ube ice cream, this was so good. They told us it’s homemade there.

A solid 2 — it’s okay. Food is good(not great, not horrible). Service is polite. But that cooking time, really? Came here two weeks ago in a party of ten. Half of the table ordered as we waited for the latecomer. When she came, the other half of the table ordered. Grilled tuna belly, lechon kawali, bihon… 30 minutes later, the food was still cooking in the kitchen. Grilled tuna belly(large) Good for 2 – 3 people. Above average. Was tender and moist, but probably because I’m a Filipino, I’ve had better. Our American companion was wonderfully surprised though. Lechon kawali Person who ordered it said it was good, and he’s a picky eater. Bihon(vermicelli noodles) A bit above average. The noodles were long. Dish was properly seasoned. Garlic rice YUM! You SHOULD get this. It might not sound appetizing, but trust me. As soon as the server set the bowl down, that wonderful aroma tickles your taste buds and makes you anticipate the other food. Good enough to eat by itself!

Came here with a a Filipino friend and his family. Everything was delicious and amazing! A friend was in from Chicago and we were going to have lunch with his family. His brother just moved to Woodside and had gotten to know the area some and suggested we go to Tito’s. Tito’s is authentic Filipino food. Coincidentally, there’s another Filipino place right next door. I’m told that it’s the same owner, so I guess there’s no real competition. I haven’t had a ton of Filipino food, but I will say that my friend’s mother makes some of the best I’ve ever had. Tito’s has some stiff competition there. We had a number of dishes including: adobo chicken, bistec, sinigang soup, as well as some delicious boneless pork thing. Everything was amazing. The food was well seasoned and flavorful. Most of the food I eat will use onions and garlic, but almost never vinegar. I’m so happy we stopped in here. The food comes in healthy portions and can be shared easily. One thing that seemed a bit odd is was the faceless gangster like image that adorned the walls and windows. I’m not quite sure what that’s about. I’d likely sooner see that at a Manhattan speakeasy, but meh, I was there for the food. If you’re in the mood for Filipino food and are in the Woodside area, you should def stop by Tito’s. Parking can be tough, but it’s worth it! I’ll be back soon to introduce others to their great food.

The food here is good, just not the best Filipino food around the area. The deep fried pork belly was the best part of the meal. Fried to perfection with just the right amount of fat. The kare kare was not peanut buttery enough and the meat was a little too chewy. The pork skewers were savory but could’ve gone without ordering this as it wasn’t astounding. I do want to come back and try the fried pork knuckles though. I saw a few tables ordering this. Pretty good prices, would definitely come back to try the rest of the menu. But for a better Kare Kare, I like the one at Krystals. Staff here was great and very welcomimg as well.

Tito Rad’s is a great family run restaurant with amazing prices(under $ 20 per person to get appetizers and entrees) and excellent food. The sizzling sisig was the highlight of the meal. It was amazingly flavorful and the egg added great texture. The beansprout fritter was good and had shrimp in it as well. The tuna belly was delicious but make sure to use the sauce that comes with it The barbecue chicken skewer was unexpectedly amazing. The pork adobong was impressively tender, but not as tasty as the sisig. The service was great and the owner actually came by and asked us about our meal. We were able to get seated at 8pm on a Friday with no wait at all.

I came here with a medium sized group and we shared everything family style… This restaurant is perfect for that! The appetizers we started off with were the lumpiang shanghai(lumpia) which is my all time favorite Filipino food; ukoy(bean sprout fritters) and sizzling sisig. Lumpia are like spring rolls, but more delicious! It had a mixture of pork, shrimp and mixed vegetable and was a perfect blend inside the extremely wonderful crispy shell. The bean sprout fritters were something new for me… The bean sprouts are fried in a batter, along with shrimp and other vegetables, such as carrots. It was quite good as well with a nice flavor. The sizzling sisig comes on top of a hot plate and consists of pork belly with diced onions and a runny egg on top, which I enjoyed as well. We also had quite a few main courses, such as pork adobo, a departure from the usual chicken adobo dish. It was really good, marinated in soy sauce, peppercorn and spices, cooked with onions. The pork was perfectly tender and well seasoned. I also liked the BBQ pork chop and we even ordered another serving of that because we enjoyed it so much! The meat was juicy and very tasty. The accompanying sauce was worked really well with the pork chop. Then there was the grilled tuna belly, which was great as well. The skin was grilled just right and tasted wonderful with the meat. We chose 2 noodle dishes: Pancit and crispy noodles. The one I liked better was the pancit — sautéed egg noodles cooked with chicken, shrimp, chinese sausage, carrots, lettuce, other greens. It was a great medley of ingredients and each one tasted fresh and full of flavor. The other one had carrots, green beans, broccoli, chicken on top of a bed of crispy noodles. I liked the crunch of the noodles but it wasn’t quite as flavorful as the pancit. My least favorite dish I believe was called Laing — taro leaves cooked with green peppers and apparently some sort of meat but I couldn’t taste any of that. It looked like a mess of green and I didn’t find it to be that good. It was lacking in flavor and I wasn’t a fan of the consistency and texture. After all that, we had to try some dessert. I was sold on the Halo Halo, which is shaved ice with ice cream, condensed milk, sweet beans, jello, taro cake, fruits! One of my table mates declared that it was good for one person, so I ordered that and it came in a HUGE cup. There was so much in there and it was delightful, although difficult to finish because the shaved ice was really cold(pointing out the obvious here, I know)! The ice cream was French Vanilla with strawberry jelly swirl on top and though I don’t normally enjoy vanilla ice cream by itself, this ice cream was incredibly delicious: Creamy, sweet, milky and most of all, intense and fresh vanilla flavor! All the other ingredients were also quite good and the condensed milk tinged everything and gave it an extra level of sweet yumminess! The service was pretty good and there was a lovely lady who came by several times to make sure we were doing okay and we got everything we ordered. She was a very gracious host. I would love to try the Turon with Ice Cream if I ever come back, which are bananas in a spring roll wrapper that is then deep fried… MMM! My mouth is watering already!

This place was a great fine thanks to Unilocal! We were watching«Bizarre Foods» and had a craving. This restaurant definitely hit the spot. We had the bean sprouts fritters and lumpiang for appetizers. The pata was pretty tasty as well as the chicken. The seasoning on the food is a bit on the salty side. However, everything is so yummy

Cheap. HUGE portions. Flavorful. Friendly service. Do you really need more? Oh– you want the rundown on what you need to order? Sizzling sisig Lumpia Lechon Kawali Kare Kare Garlic Rice Pro Tip:(1) No alcohol license here– I know washing down this fatty fried goodness with a beer would be ideal, but it’s a no go here.(2) Don’t go anywhere after eating here. Go home. Peel off your eating pants. Jump into bed. Food coma is coming. Embrace it.

Those Rad Portions, Portions, Portions! Overall: 4 Stars No matter which Filipino restaurant you go to I recommend visiting on an empty stomach because the portions are greater than most other types of restaurants. The food is pretty good and does have a nice overall flavor, but after spending 2 weeks in the Philippines I feel it is missing a few things. Now don’t get me wrong, I am NOWHERE near an expert on Filipino food. Maybe it was the restaurants I ate at or just my preferences, but something feels off. I am also not saying that this food isn’t authentic, but one thing I know about foreign cuisine is that it’s nearly impossible to completely replicate the taste/texture/true flavor of the home country. Many ingredients such as flour are banned in the US because of whatever procedure used on them isn’t «FDA» approved. Tito Rad’s is very close if not on the money on many of their dishes. I enjoyed the sizzling sisig with the runny egg on top. The taste was good, and who doesn’t like pork belly? Make sure to mix it with the fried rice(see the empty sisig plate behind the fried rice picture) since you can make extra porky fried rice. You go get a good bang for your buck with fresh food and large portions. The Shanghai Fried Rice(pictured below) is only $ 7.95. For a lunch special that would already be a steal. You can’t eat a Filipino meal without some Calamasi(no, not calamari) or Buko juice and you can’t finish a meal without Halo-Halo. Of course you can’t start without Lumpiang Shanghai, sizzling sisig, BBQ skewers. Adobo is mandatory as well. Just wear your loose fitted sweatpants and dig in. Tito Rad’s is worth a try in Woodside, especially if you are dining with family and friends. More possibilities to try new dishes and share with everyone since as I’ve mentioned before… the portions are large and terrifically priced. You may have noticed I didn’t really criticize anything, but I still lower my overall rating a little. As I said earlier in the review… I felt as though something is missing, but I’m not really sure. I apologize for coming off as(sounding like) a knowledge less schmuck in this review. I can easily say that Tito Rad’s is my favorite«affordable» Filipino restaurant.

Last night was my first time here. I was taken by friends who still wanted a little more to eat even though it was late and since this spot was open it was the best choice. They also have a BYOB policy which is awesome. We all had a sample of their finest but the crispy pata was the true star of the table. So delicious and tender and the sauce was good too. The pig ears were chewy yet flavorful and the lumpiang shanghai was awesome. I just love lumpia, could eat it all day if I wanted to but not this night lol. Also had the privilege to try the Chicaron Bulaklak. They were salty but very crispy and savory with a nice hard crunch. In total, the service was good, the place was so clean and beautifully decorated, and the food was awesome. Would love to go again when I get a chance

I absolutely love this place! I like their sizzling sisig… reminds me of chopped chicharonnes with lemon. Their house special grilled chicken is great too. Maybe not a big fan of the vinegar like sauce they serve with the chicken. Great portions for their prices. I love their actual chicharonnes with rice dish too. It’s a mix between Chinese roast pork suckling and Latino chicharonnes giving it a juicy inside and crunchy outer. No need to say more. … just go!

Probably the best Filipino restaurant I’ve been to in New York. Although the ambiance doesn’t compare to the other ones in Manhattan, good selection is far superior(in terms of taste, serving size and price). I’ve been to this place three times over the past 6 months! Favorites: Ukoy(bean sprout fritters) — crunchy and moist Sizzling sisig– love! Those finely chopped pork! Tip: have them add an egg in it. The best part is the mixing while the plate is still hot and sizzling House specialty barbecue– we tried the boneless chicken barbecue If you’re Pinoy, you’ll feel at home here.
