The staff is usually rude. They are late to get the promo items. In certain cases they won’t be carry them or run out of stock of it or just out right say no cause its too late and they don’t want to make it. The wait is always long.

The only place to get steak fingers. And dipping cream gravy! This is where I come when I need cheering up.

Waited ½ hour for ice cream after realizing they had simply lost our order… not fun if you’re with 2 toddlers. They refunded us but only after complaining twice. Not coming back.

Terrible. Worst DQ I’ve ever been to. Look, I understand that you have to go into any fast food joint these days with lowered expectations, but I’ve always loved Dairy Queen as one of those chains that emphasizes quality over speed or price. I’m a big DQ fan, and have been since I was a kid. I will not, however, visit the one in McKinney, TX any more. Period. Under any circumstances. First time, I went through the drive-through. Food took forever to get to me, and when I got it home I was missing parts of my order. Whatever, people make mistakes, right? Second time, I went in with my wife and son. My Dude sandwich tasted like sweat(seriously, like unwashed B.O.-sweat), but at least the place was clean and the service was relatively snappy. Last time I went, however, it was just me and my 4 year-old back in June of this year. We went inside, ordered, grabbed a booth, and waited. And waited. And waited. We watched the same employee circle the store, bringing folks their food. We watched people come in, order, sit down, get their food, eat, and leave. Not ONCE did the employee bringing food out ask us if we needed anything. After more than a half hour of waiting, I finally asked the cashier for a refund so we could go elsewhere. The cashier had to get a supervisor to approve the refund, and the supervisor ended up being the employee that had been running food out to customers. The best excuse they could muster was that our order had somehow been skipped. Not sure how that could have happened, but there you have it. Maybe I’m just extremely unlucky, but my experiences with this Dairy Queen have consistently been sub-par at best and absolutely horrible at worst. In the future, when I want a Blizzard or steak fingers, I’ll spend the extra time and gas and drive to Allen or Frisco. But I will not ever, under any circumstances, visit the DQ in McKinney ever again, nor would I recommend this location to anyone I know.

I know you think all Dairy Queens are probably the same but I find that this location has a really friendly staff. We like to visit for sweet treats but on our last visit we had some delicious tacos and chili cheese fries. The restaurant was very clean and I think they did some remodeling. They always have lots of people on staff, I’m guess that is because this Dairy Queen stays pretty busy.

Back when I was a teen I used to go to Dairy Queen for a Beltbuster at least twice a month. As I grew older, and had a car I frequented this place less. Recently I went back to try the double cheeseburger. I was surprised at how good this burger really was. I love the different ice cream treats available at all restaurants. You gotta try it!

Love DQ but this one is the worst for their inefficient, slow service. We go on occasion just bc it’s the only DQ in the area. Food is consistently good at least. Just expect to wait a while.

Three small blizzards and one small dipped cone. All done right. They brought the order to our table, and the server was super friendly! Smiles!

Horribly SLOW and inefficient. The young guys working there do not know what they’re doing. Dq management, you need to take notice. I will not be back!

This DQ needs an update badly… on the outside! The inside is pretty nice with a flat panel tv mounted in the corner, lots of seating, and the many windows are super clean. The drive thru line is ALWAYS into the street. While that may sound like a good thing, that actually means that only three cars can use the drive thru at a time: one at window, one at order board, one with barely enough room to pull in behind them. I’m honestly surprised that they do not get complaints to the city about the(lack of) traffic flow. The order board is clearly marked and easy to read. It is a bit close to the window, however. One thing I noticed is that it seems the turn around rate at this location is crazy. I don’t think I’ve seen the same person more than a couple of times. The customer service is definitely hit or miss. While they are generally nice kids, yes I said KIDS, that work here, this is clearly their first ever jobs and there must be minimal training as to how to provide customer service. It pisses me off that no one knows what actually goes into the menu items and apparently it’s too much to get a respectful, decent answer from the food preps. They typically roll their eyes and act like it’s a big deal to tell the cashier what’s in the items. The last time the kids and I stopped by for a Blizzard, the guy(I think he was a manager) actually turned the cups upside down as is the DQ tradition. The kids(teenagers) had only seen this done once at another location when they were little and got a kick out of it. I expect that to be done EVERYSINGLETIME since that is part of their trademark. I’m sure the food is mostly cooked to order but for a fast food place, it takes forever to get your order. A lot of times, I am just wanting a blizzard and even that takes ages. I DO like that they have a recipe book that has some of the older blizzards that are not on the menu. AND… they have steak fingers! Not all DQs have them. This time we made time to eat inside and were pleasantly surprised that the manager brought the food to our table with a smile! I will still stop by this DQ when a Blizzard craving hits for sure!

I came to this DQ in hopes they could make a blizzard that I had and had LOVED(and forgotten about until recently) I was kind of unsure at first because it looked so old, which, I have been to run down/older DQ’s and turns out the ice cream still turns out to be great. I don’t mind them looking older but man, a little update/clean-up would never hurt business. Anyways, they no liters were very polite and all helpful in making sure my «mud pie blizzard» was made properly. Aaaaahhh YUMMY! They did great and even apologized for it taking time to figure out the«book» recipe… It didn’t take long at all so that was no biggy. If ANYTHING, I was totally whiling to wait for a blizzard I 120% was craving! Can never go wrong with a DQ blizzard!

I think this is the only Dairy Queen left in McKinney? I’ve never been in the restaurant because 1.) It’s always crowded 2.) It looks dirty 3.) The customers who do eat inside(from what I can see in my car window) look sketchy and dirty. The drive-thru was fast. There is only one window to pay and get your food. If you order a burger, onion rings, fries, ect., you will have to pull up into the parking lot for your food. They usually don’t take more than 5 mins. The tricky part is to navigate back out of the parking spot. The drive-thru speaker is literally right behind you, and the crazy people in line won’t move. It’s like they want you to hit their car. The parking lot is small, and cracked. It’s always crowded. Sometimes there will be a line forming in the street. I can see why because the food is good. My chocolate/strawberry Blizzard was delicious! I also ordered onion rings(as usual), and the server got them out to my car in less than 5 mins. They were hot. I live in ANNA(15 mins away) and they were still hot when I got home. I will be returning, but only in the drive-thru.

Wow… this location is the worst I’ve seen in a long time. I’m not even sure what to write because our experience was so horrible. I guess I’ll just give the facts. And times below are literal, no exaggeration: 10 minute wait to get to speaker 5 minute wait to order 10 minute wait at window 15 minute wait after we «pulled around» to wait for our order. The ice cream melted, the food was served lukewarm, and the staff sucks. I’m not even sure what to say. I’m dumbfounded that any fast food place can be THIS bad. I mean, I’ve had bad experiences, but this… is just… I don’t even know. Stay away from here.

Dairy Queen! Of course we often come here for blizzards, and dipped cones, steak finger baskets and everything else we’ve always loved the texas stop sign for. I like this one because it’s in McKinney and not far from me, it has a drive thru and never screws up my order. I’ve never been inside because it looks a little sketchy, but the drive thru is harmless and always efficient. Dangit, now I want a butterfinger blizzard.
