Best margarita I ever had. This is gourmet Mexican, and honestly I thought the price was going to reflect that. But in truth everything was reasonably priced. I loved everything about this place, especially the Patron Margarita

Everything from the beautiful building, layout and décor to the service and and friendliness of the staff was top notch. The food was delicious and full of flavor. The kids loved it, the wife loves it and so do I. Great spot for a nice dinner.

We just has the lobster tacos — wow! The corn soup reminder us of Paris. Such an Elegant place. My main dish was the sea bass which was extremely fresh. We will be coming back.

I actually would give this restaurant 4.5 stars. It is beautifully decorated restaurant with full liquor bar. Very clean, nice atmosphere, great and friendly staff and service. The chips with salsa and black beans were absolutely delicious. I had the lobster tacos, the presentation was beautiful and so flavorful. The only reason I am not giving the tacos a 5 is because the first bite tasted like when shrimp is not detained it has an earthy taste. I doubt you can detain a lobster, but that’s what it tasted like. The last bite was delicious. Other than that, I am a very pleased costumer and had a wonderful dining experience.

I am from Miami. I recently moved to the valley and have been in many Mexican restaurants. This one is by far the best food and service. The lobster tacos are amazing! Try the margarita de jamaica.

Great restaurant with an emphasis on unique and delicious dishes. This isnt your average mexican food place. The food items were well crafted and fresh. The poblano pasta was divine as well as the enchiladas suizas. Definitely interested in trying out the rest of the menu.

Delicious. I was in town on business, and came across this gem. I was alone. I sat in the bar. Families of all sizes were there enjoying their time. I had the enchiladas green and a Bohemia. The server gave me full attention, and absolute respect. The chips were served with a been and salsa mix. Very good.

Been driving by this place for a few months saying I should try it. Looked through the regular menu and ended up ordering the tenderloin lunch special. After ordering the executive chef Sergio stopped by our table. I said it’s my first time and he should put together a sample plate for me to try some different things next time I come in. He asked me what I liked and I said West Coast fair, ensenada, rosario even Cabo. He comes back about 15 minutes with an amazing sample plate of things not even on the menu.
Everything was great along with their Habanero Mango sauce which is amazing. I’ll come back again and as he said just prepare some food from the Yucatan or maybe

Pretty good place. Nice semi formal environment. Good for special celebrations or dates. Service is always superb, and cocktail drinks are excellent. Try the Bloody Mary. Corn bisque is also very good with an impressive presentation. Never experienced a long wait to sit down even when it looks packed outside.

Great bartender, rude managers, obnoxious customers. I witnessed the chef called to a table to praise the guacamole.

I visited this place a Monday evening, had a wonderful time in a relaxed environment with great service. I highly recommend trying the beat and the artichoke salads, pork with habanero sauce for main dish, and the mango margaritas. Also the beer is served cold as it can get. Can’t wait to explore other items.

I had been in la Hacienda del Patrón several times. Never dissapointed… great mexican food with a gourmet twist… I am mexican and visit México city restaurants often and I can affirm for the valley its a great representative of fine mexican food. Do not expect to have traditional simple mexican food or texmex.
Service is real good and the chef is willing to cook something special for you.

The pasta poblano was delicious though it could have been more al dente. The tacos de carne asada for the kids were outstanding, the presentation was nice, too. My wife loves the enchiladas verdes and the panuchos de cochinita. The margarita de tamarind I was tasty and so was the chocolate volcano with helado de rompope. The service was great though a bit food came out slowly and not all at once though it was after 1pm. Not for the Texmex palette. Worth the price when customers from Mexico City are impressed with the flavors. Everyone loves the tortillas.

I had the 14 oz Ribeye, seasoned and cooked perfectly. The rosemary potatoes were to die for.
My friend had the Carne Tacos, and it included beef bone marrow. He said it made the tacos more delicious.
Side note, had the grilled cheese appetizer (not a sandwich) with special salsa. The cheese was crispy on the edges, and chewy in the middle. Incredible. !!

I was VERY unhappy, first we ordered the tablet as an entrée and they substituted the bone marrow with «one taco»! Cheap! Still$ 14.00. Then we ordered two orders of barbacoa de borrego, and they didn’t bother to mention that they were servings for two. They just let us order two plates @$ 25 each. Then I ordered sabana del patron and was told it was supposed to be a very tender and soft meat. And it was tough like a cheap arrachera. Still that was also $ 25. Then the manager came over and saw I was not satisfied and offered to not charge me the meal and offered a dessert on the house and I WAS CHARGED FOR THE DESSERT, which WASNT EVEN BROUGHT TO US! VERY VERY VERY UNHAPPY! Find a better location to eat people. Never going back there! SMDH!

Wow, it was incredible! My family and I went at exactly 11am so we were the first ones there. Service was great overall, no problems whats-​so-​ever except when we only got 3 tortillas and we were more than 3 people, but our waitress fixed the problem and even gave us a complimentary drink. I had the surf & turf, it wasn’t on the menu but I asked if they could make it and they did. It was great! My family had the 22oz rib-​eye, pasta in poblano sauce, and the green seafood pozole and everything was delicious. Oh! As an appetizer we got guacamole with carnitas & it was delish!!! A must have! Will be returning many more times! The prices were great too the most expensive thing was the $ 35 rib-​eye and I think thats a great price!

If this is Mexican food for McAllen TX I will no longer be able to stomach it. The presentation was wonderful but the taste is lackluster at best it’s Mediocre. I ordered the street tacos and they came out salty and probably made hours ago so they were dry.
I also order the tuna tostadas which if the only reason i am giving This Joint 3 stars.
Wayyyyyyy too expensive for the food I got.

Amazing! Joel & Paulo (De Chile) we’re the most professional, charismatic, and attentive servers that I’ve had the pleasure of meeting! I’m not originally from the valley, born in Argentina and grew up in Miami. I’ve had the opportunity to visit many countries and experience not only the cuisine, but the regional customs of service. Hacienda Del Patron is now my favorite restaurant in Texas, one of my top 5 anywhere!
I have no ulterior motive or ties to this place, I just appreciate great people, delicious food and an elegant yet relaxing ambiance. I’ve read every single review of this restaurant before coming here, and although everyone is entitled to their opinion, I think people are too quick to judge and have no experience in understanding the effort and dedication it takes to produce an experience like the one Hacienda Del Patron delivers.
If you show up to any restaurant during their busiest time, one must expect delays and mistakes as they are part of the challenge to become a well oiled machine. A zero defect mentality is erroneous in such a situation. Compassion and understanding are intangible values that make restaurant experiences that more joyful.
I myself am a business owner, and I can tell that the leadership of this establishment is doing everything in their power and has poured their heart into this place as their effort radiates through the attention to detail of their staff.
Congratulations! We will be back…

Really delicious flavorful interior style Mexican food! We haven’t found this since leaving Houston… or Mexico! Great service as well! We will be back to sit on the patio!
