Hawthorn Suites By Wyndham Mcallen

I’ve been on the road all over Texas for the past 6 weeks and was really looking for something different. I never heard of Hawthorn Suites before and I prefer hotels with seating areas so I’m not having to sit in my bed to do work. This place is amazing! Ultra modern and not only does it have a seating area, it actually has a separate bedroom & bathroom from the living/​dining/​kitchen. If I had 1 complaint it would be that you can hear people walking by in the hallway when you’re sitting in the couch, but you cannot hear them from the bedroom, which is the most important. This hotel actually feels like a condo — something positive for those who travel a lot and get homesick. I’m a stickler for clean bathrooms and bedding in hotels and I have not had any issues for the few days I’ve been here. The biggest score: Christmas decorations before Thanksgiving! Normally that drives me nuts, but they pulled in their modern art and used it with the Christmas décor.
