This place sucked!!! …At least for breakfast. The place was tiny! The tables and chairs were so close together you could barely pull your chair out and are forced to overhear everyone else’s conversation which I rather not know about. The menu is not simple at all because you have to order everything separate. No egg with pancake platters, no french toast platters with egg and bacon. So, in order for you to get a filling breakfast your looking at $ 15+ per person and I’m not a big eater. Taste wise, I was kind of disappointed considering the amount of good reviews of this place. That’s why we came here in the first place. Unless these reviews are just friends and family of the owners. Who knows, none the less, I may give this place another chance for lunch. 2 stars because the waiter did take care of us. Maybe this was a fuke but as for now it’ll stay at 2 stars until I’m convinced otherwise.

Awesome food!!! A little pricy wish they had a breakfast platter with pancakes already included! Blueberry muffin is my favorite I like to cut it down the middle and add butter and grill it on the skillet I call it a grilled blueberry muffin.

Breakfast was good. The biscuits and gravy had chunks of sausages in it. Biscuits were flaky and buttery. Rest of the breakfast items were okay… Things most people could make at home. They were out of orange juice. Breakfast without OJ is a fail. There is no excuse for being out of OJ during breakfast hours. Minus one star for having Fox News and its moronic biased banter on as we were just trying to enjoy breakfast. It made food taste worse.

I had the pancakes with bacon and orange juice. The food was good overall. Service was really good despite the fact that there was a lot of people. I would go back to try their desserts.

It has been a while since we have visited this restaurant. I loved their waffles and chicken. Got to meet the owners and this is something you don’t see often. I highly recommend this awesome restaurant and we will be back again soon.

Nice atmosphere, has a small town café feeling. The ham and cheese omelet and coffee were very good.

Great homemade food. Syrup is made in house. The fruit dip is also unbelievable. Everything is homemade from scratch. Very cute, awesome little spot with great food.

I really enjoy going to Sweet Temptations, as everything I’ve tried there has been tasty. The last time I went, the server recommended the green chile soup which I wasn’t super excited to try. I tried it anyway and I am SO glad I did. It is the best soup I’ve ever had, period. I’ve tried the tortilla soup which is excellent but lacks chicken which would make it even better. Still worth having anyway. I’ve tried the chicken salad sandwich, chicken alfredo and my favorite, chicken cordon bleu. I have never been there for breakfast but I do highly recommend this place for lunch. The owners are there frequently(if not always) and they are so kind and welcoming. The wait staff are all very nice. Overall, very good experience every time.

Solid, diner style pancakes the size of the plate. Good, thick bacon. Prices a little high for the food, but it never stopped me from going in for breakfast post-call. The customer service makes up for the extra couple dollars. It’s usually packed with regulars spending a leisurely morning chatting up the owner as he walks through the place. Reminded me of the Midwest which was cool when I was homesick.

Great food! While visiting family in town, I was looking forward to having some breakfast(since other reviews raved about it) but just missed the cutoff. Instead I had a tuna melt with tortilla soup and I was not disappointed. Portions are generous and taste amazing. Would definitely eat here again.

I am so happy that I discovered this place! It is so good, so homey, so clean, it’ll be a regular stop for me from now on. I ordered an omelette that was to die for, the bacon was thick and meaty, the fruit was fresh and sweet, and even the coffee was above average. I love breakfast, and this place is definitely upper echelon. Congrats to the proprietor for having such a nice place. The wait staff is great too. Yum.

Great lunch! The food is very fresh! We got there too late for breakfast. Parking was not much a problem but the parking is shared with the hotel and might get full.

Best waffle ever! Owner took the time to talk to us even when the place was so busy. Definitely coming back!

We sampled omelettes, quiche and bacon and eggs. Everything was so delicious but the waffles were the star of our meal. The owners took time to talk to us and the waitress was spunky and on it. I loved the dark magic coffee and the I am definitely coming back.

Sweet Temptations is a well-established restaurant in a very nice little mall just off 10 St. in McAllen. Whenever I walk in the restaurant I am always amazed that there is not a line out the door. The place always seems to be packed, but everyone gets seated quickly. That is because someone actually manages the dining room like a maître d’ is supposed to do. They not only meet and greet, they ensure high levels of quality service and keep things running smoothly and efficiently. Even better, the food is great! I have eaten there several times and have never had bad food. Most recently I had potato soup and a piece of spinach and bacon quiche. In both cases the helpings were more than ample and they tasted delicious. I also had a side order of their famous bread. Because the dining room is managed well, there were just a few moments between courses served, without being rushed. Sweet Temptations not only deserve the highest rating, it does so consistently.

Really good breakfast! All their food is really fresh and delicious. Our waiter was a little in a bad mood but overall was a good visit. The only place I’ve been to that they actually have 100% natural orange juice. Literally all natural. Must try!

So nice to see a family owned, special place to have some good brunch and atmosphere. Very friendly and unique! I had a large breakfast with help from my waitress and two desserts to go. They have zucchini muffins as well as Hawaiian and blueberry. I had a wonderful breakfast for 1 and will recommend to everyone I know here(not very many people sorry). Thank you Sweets!

Good management, friendly staff. I need to stay away from there on a regular basis, because their biscuits and gravy is the BEST I have had, definitely put weight on me. Thick cut bacon, how can you go wrong?

I like this place but I never get there early enough for breakfast so I’ve only tried their quiche and soups, very tasty. Good coffee

The food is always good, the burgers are outstanding and you can never go wrong with breakfast. Gotta try the zucchini muffins… The only thing I could complain about is that the service isn’t always prompt… So if your in a hurry it’s a 50⁄50 whether you’ll be in and out quick… It is still a favorite of mine, and it’s great to get away from the typical every day food establishments… I would always recommend –The fried chicken sandwich –any of the quiches — pancakes! Pancakes! Pancakes — southern pecan coffee –burgers Happy eating!!!
