We have been to Harry’s a few times and it has always been fantastic. Harry is a generous soul that takes the time to greet all his customers. On our first visit he gave my fiancé a sample of the Maredsous. Now he’s hooked on this beer! Additionally, the food is always served quickly with great flavor. Each time we order something different and each time we’ve been super pleased with our choices.

Food was mediocre and overpriced. Usually this is the case for restaurants with nice views. Service was lackluster; the waiter seemed bored and disinterested. He didn’t bus the table after half our party left and left the table piled high with dirty dishes… so much so that it was hard to find an open spot in the table. This was our first and last meal here.

Stopped in for appetizers and drinks only to find a bandage wrapper in my Stella??? Owner came out, Blue and told me no big deal and he would remove that beer. No apologies or anything! #won’t be back

Sunday brunch was great! We will definitely come back… We came here when it first opened and it was just so-so, but decided to give it another try. So glad we did, the food was excellent. I had the South Texas breakfast pie and my wife had chicken & eggs, both really good. Great specials on mimosas and Bloody Mary’s as well.

Harry’s was the best! My entire family ordered something different and every meal was absolutely delicious. Eileen was our server and was amazing! Would 100% go back. Highly recommended :)

With Reni Rainier and Christina Jennings. Sports bar atmosphere, food is good(and goes with the sport’s bar theme, with some interesting variations). Funny the waitress did not know the brand of the house wines, which is normally printed in the wine list. Perhaps they change it frequently, or she is too young to know or care? Great view of the harbor and residences around it. In any case, enjoyable Sunday afternoon with two beautiful ladies.

We’ve been in many many times. Food is pretty good, but the service leaves a lot to be desired. With some better training of the servers, I think this place could raise up to a 4 or 5 pretty quickly, but a big issue is consistency. It’s hit or miss, so we just stopped going.

UPDATE: the owner responded to my review and couldn’t have been nicer. I came back a few nights ago and noticed they were training a bunch of new servers. It means a lot to me that Harry listened. We will return! Disappointing. The food is ok. Their nachos are great and the chicken salad tacos are good and easy. The ambiance is amazing which is why I keep giving it a chance with all of the great weather we’ve been having. The service is HORRIBLE. The first time I came here, my husband and I sat for 20 minutes with no water, no waiter, and EXTREMELY annoyed. Finally, I went up to the bar and had to get our waters myself and ask if anyone would take our order. The second time I came here we had an attentive waiter and things were definitely better, but my husband was still annoyed from the time before. The third time I came here was the last straw for me. My husband was working so I came for a side salad and a couple glasses of wine as it was a beautiful Sunday. My waitress finally greeted me after about 10 minutes and looked annoyed that I was a table of 1. After ordering, I did not see her for about 30 minutes. In that time I had to go get my own silverware and eventually go up to the bar to order my second glass of wine. My husband works a lot, so I dine by myself about once a week and it TRULY bothers me when waitresses treat you like you are unimportant because your tab is not as large as the next table. Would give zero stars, but the owner is nice, the food is good, and it’s the only place in McKinney with a view. Their staff needs some SERIOUS training. And all of this is coming from a usually passive people pleaser. ***disclaimer. The blonde bartender whose name I did not catch has helped us each time and made it worth coming back… if there is a next time, I will forgo the view and sit at the bar since she always ends up being my waiter.

I am very disappointed with my first experience at Harry’s. I had such high hopes for this place as the location is excellent. The menu has a wide variety of items and I was excited to try a few of them. The nachos had great reviews on Unilocal but I found them to be just average. They served them with red and green tortilla chips which turned me off. I don’t like artificial food dyes and didn’t think serving red and green chips enhanced the nachos at all. I LOVE mussels but I was let down by this appetizer. I started to eat them and they were good although the broth was a bit greasy(butter?) When I got through about 8 mussels and to the second layer of mussels in the bowl I found that about 13 were not opened. Mussels that don’t open when cooked are bad news. I waited quite a while for our server to check on us and did not see anyone else to flag down. When I explained about the unopened mussels she was kind and offered for them to re-fire my order or to select another item. I was slightly turned off by my experience so I declined both offers. She said she would take them off my bill. When I received the bill the nachos had been removed(they were the same price) and the reason code on the receipt was that I didn’t like them. I never had a manager come out to apologize or check on our table after this. In restaurant management it is highly unusual to have an issue and the manager doesn’t come to the table to rectify the situation. Especially when an entire dish is removed from the ticket. The customer shouldn’t have to ask for the manager. The manager should just come out to check on the issue. Perhaps the staff is not properly communicating issues to the management? Given my experience tonight I think I will not be recommending nor going back to Harry’s. Once again this is sad because the location is great and the potential is there.

Harry’s at the Harbor was such a great addition to the town of McKinney! Not only can you watch your favorite sporting event on their many TVs but you can always grab a decently priced meal that is also really good quality. The owner, Harry is such a great guy. He is always there to greet you & really make the restaurant. Be ready for one of his jokes! My two favorite things to eat there are the buffalo chicken salad and the chicken curry! If you haven’t had the rusty nuts you also need to try those! Sunday brunch is also pretty great & they have cheap bloody mary’s and mimosas! This is a family environment also and I think that’s nice. It give the families around town a place they can also enjoy! I will keep going back to Harry’s every time I am in McKinney!

The chocolate cake was divine. My husband and I finished it off. It wasn’t too rich, but so flavorful.

I frequent Harry’s because the staff is friendly, drinks are good, and the food is great! I moved into Adriatica village last year and I like this place for lunch as much as dinner. Try the chicken pot pie. Tastes just like grandma made it. It’s a must visit.

Well I decided to give this place another shot and came with my husband last night. It was a warm evening and we opted for the patio seating. So first off, the girl who seated is was very sweet and helpful. She should be a waitress here. No one came for our drink order for at least 10 – 15 minutes. We sat waiting. There was NOT enough people working tables. There was only 3 waiters or waitresses and the entire patio was full and people inside as well. I ordered a margarita and my husband ordered a beer and calamari. We had one person take our drink order. Another person bring it. No one returned to ask if we needed anything for 20 more minutes and my glass was empty. Our calamari wasn’t good. Super rubbery. Please change your calamari sauce because it’s way too sweet!!! By the time they asked if we needed anything else we were over it. You really need to step it up and hire more help for summer weather. Disappointed and probably won’t be back.

The food was good but overpriced. I guess the guests are paying for the area this place is located at. We were in a party of three and it took a long time for our food to arrive and the restaurant was not busy. When it arrived only two meals were delivered. Nothing was said about the missing meal. It finally took about five minutes for my meal to arrive and I figured it was last to be ready and would be very hot but it was only lukewarm like it had been sitting for several minutes. Very disappointing. Last be aware that the parking levels do not match the floor numbers. After we eat we walked up to the fourth floor since we parked on the fourth level parking only to find us located on the 5th level parking. We had to walk don’t to the 3rd floor to get to the 4th level parking. They need signs to point this out.

Called Harry’s to make a birthday reservation only discover they don’t take reservations. I told the woman on the phone that my mother was elderly and can’t stand around and wait for a table, she asked when I would be coming and when I told her she said it wouldn’t be a problem. We arrived and were told there would be an hour wait, when I repeated what I was told they were more concerned that it wasn’t these hostesses I spoke to, more reflecting blame than helping with the problem. Harry came over, heard what I had to say and turned away. I guess I was dismissed. We told they to take our name off the wait list and as they did, they said to have a nice day, again I guess we were dismissed. Luckily I have other choices and unless their attitude changes they may not have very many clients left.

Came back for dinner with my husband. We had the chicken carbonara and fish and chips. Both were hot, fresh and delicious! Service was good too!

I just moved into this little village and one of the first thing the wife and I did was stop in for a drink. Bartender greeted us and offered a menu, very polite. Had drink, tipped and left. Second time in was this morning for a nice lunch with wife and mother in law. Once again, everything was smooth, nice view of the water side, waiter, Austin, was very polite and professional. The food was better then I expected, I had a jalapeño burger and potatoe cakes. On a side note, I found those potatoe cakes freaking awsome!!! I’m looking forward to snacking on those again. Odd how something so simple makes me look forward to visiting an establishment again. I’m glade they are just an elevator ride away.

On my last two visits to Harry’s, it’s been a little like the honeymoon is over. Visit before last, during Texas/OU weekend, the bar was filled with folks«cheering» at the top of their lungs and the acoustics in that place make it impossible to hear your dining partner’s conversation. Service and food were ok, but everyone in the place seemed to have the need to outdo each other, sound wise. Our most recent visit, the sound effects were more tolerable, but our server didn’t get our order right. Perhaps if he’d written it down… we asked for lettuce, tomato and onion on the jalapeño cheeseburger and for the peppers to be on the side, because we like to control the coverage, and to be honest, they’re awesome when dipped in honey mustard dressing. Instead, they came piled on the burger, drenched in cheese. There was no LTO, and when we asked for it again, it was added to the check at $ 2/each. Huh? Just not as stellar experience as the first time. You never forget your first time, right? Sadface.

Harry’s is tucked away in Adriatica Village. You have to be looking for it to eat there. We find it most convenient to park in the parking garage. There is not a parking lot near by. It’s a great date night spot or you can head there with the family. Even though the outside of the restaurant looks like a century old Croatian village, the inside is a modernly decorated eatery. It is cross between English pub and a industrial décor. The patio is also an amazing place to eat a meal. It has stellar views of the nearby lake. Our waitress was attentive and very knowledgable about the menu. We started off with the Jumbo Wings. It was baked chicken wings and drums tossed in a house made hot wing sauce. It was scrumptious. I had the Crab and Shrimp Monaco. Wowzers… just about one of the best seafood dishes I have had in North Texas. It was two large grilled crab cakes topped with garlic sautéed jumbo shrimp. It was smothered in a creamy seafood sauce. It was served with steamed white rice and buttered broccoli. I was in my foodie happy place! The hubby had the neighborhood nachos. Now when it says neighborhood that means it is large enough to share with the whole neighborhood. It is ginormous! It is piled high with crispy tortilla chips smothered with fajita chicken and homemade chili, creamy queso, and melted jack and cheddar cheese. On top it had diced tomatoes, shredded lettuce, sour cream and salsa on the side. These nachos were amazing for not even being a Tex — Mex place. Yummo Meal! We will be back!
