I will be short and sweet on this review: GO Just GO. You won’t be disappointed in food or service. I have now been 3 times in 10 days… and I live in Plano!

Hutchin’s has made me realize why people are crazy about BBQ. I wasn’t a huge fan before but O.M.G. This is good stuff! I had the brisket and run combo with green beans and mashed potatoes. The ribs were the best I’ve ever had. The brisket was so tender I cut it with my fork and it melted in my mouth! Delicious! My kids like it, too. They had chicken nuggets and corn dogs, for a good price of $ 3.99. It came with one side and a roll. Plus, the free dessert! How did I forget the yummy desserts?! Banana pudding, cobbler, ice cream! Overall, a great family dinner! We will definitely be back.

We drove from Far west McKinney to give this place a shot!(Yes, my wife wanted BBQ for v-day)!! We couldn’t of been more satisfied. The line was intimidating at first but it moved quickly and we were eating within 20 minutes of arriving. We both chose the all you can eat so we could sample everything… And it’s under $ 20!!! Anyways, the brisket was the highlight, but all other meats were unbelievably moist and flavored and smoked to perfection. The sides were a nice compliment to the protein, as they all were obviously made from scratch. The gentlemen at the meat block were very nice and informative and walked us through the process since it was our first time. The service in the dining room was tops as well. A very nice Hispanic lady treated us better than most fine dining restaurants would do. 5 stars across the board! We will be back

First time here so I ordered my usual: lean brisket, moist brisket and since everyone was getting them in front of me, the ribs. Ribs, St. Louis style, were overcooked and kind of boring. But the brisket, oh my: the moist slices melted in my mouth and with great flavor(not overtly smokey, just smokey enough). Lean wasn’t too far either, not dry at all. The broccoli salad was equally amazing. Iced tea was perfect: I did not know the desserts are free so I indulged. Peach pie was delicious, banana pudding was a little weird for me.

Ordered a pound of Brisket and ate it all myself. It was the best BBQ I ever had, moist, tender, and flavorful. 5 stars. Will be back!!! I went for the drive through as the line was long so go here with some time. Plan on spending $ 20 a person for some good feeding.

Made my way back; this time I opted for a drive thru visit(high five to Hutchins for having a drive thru). I ordered a pound of moist brisket… no sides, no service(aside from a quick exchange at the drive thru), no distractions… just pure, smoked beef. The truth cannot be denied… it’s good stuff. I’m a freaking fan. Give them a whirl.

There wasn’t a line when we got there around 1130am and 15 mins later there was a long waiting line. My husband ordered a brisket and spicy sausage plus two sides for $ 12.99 plus tax. Both items were good. I ordered ribs and sausage with cheese/spicy with two sides for $ 12.99. Self service on the side items. The ribs was good & the sausage was ok. The cashier wasn’t that friendly but the other staffs were friendly. Overall, we paid $ 30.00 for two orders and a drink.

Definitely absolutely positively among the best BBQ dining experiences you can have in North Texas. And without the pretentious prices found at Pecan Lodge. Sausage? Good. Turkey? Good. Ham? Good. Mac & Cheese? Good. Brisket? Exceptional. And let’s face it – if you are truly judging BBQ in Texas, that’s really all that matters. Ribs and sausage are a distant second and third. And the other meats are just there to round out your meals and/or feed any uncultured visitors who don’t know they should be looking for the biggest, fattiest, most charred hunk of beef they can find.

I love this location! The drive thru can snake around in the evenings and weekends depending on when you go, but I definitely would dine in if you can. I usually get the jalapeño sausage and the chicken, and they are absolutely moist and flavorful. The jalapeño sausage even has a nice kick to it if that’s your thing. The ribs are to die for-the outside has a nice char to them, and the meat just falls right off the bone. If you get a plate, it includes two veggies. My go to has always been potato salad and mac & cheese-and boy are they good. If you choose to dine in, you even get complimentary dessert, which is banana pudding and peach cobbler and ice cream. This barbecue place is definitely popular, and more than likely on the weekends you will see a crowd. But don’t let that deter you from trying it out! You would be so glad you did

I first experienced Hutchins bbq at a weezer concert where it was catered in. And for it being catered it was exceptionally awesome. So we woke up this morning and decided to watch man v food and as the wife and I got hungry we decided to take a road trip to try this place. I’m a bbq fan and snob. I compare every bbq to Coopers bbq as it has become my benchmark for good eats. Well my friends those days are over as Hutchins has now become my benchmark. I feel the quality and the value are hard to beat. Brisket is really moist and has a good bark and smoke ring. Their ribs are tender and come off the bone with just the right amount of resistance. The Turkey is a highlight and just all around has great flavor. Pulled pork was good. Now your probably asking damn how much did you order. Well they have an all you can eat plate for 18.99 includes all you can eat meats, sides, and desserts. And I tried oh man did I try. Now for the surprises. Their catfish, really good! The breeding has just right amount of seasoning and I could see my self coming back just for the catfish which is crazy since the bbq is so good. The one thing not included on their all you can eat plate. And let me tell you it alone is worth the drive. Their jalapeño poppers. Like a typical jalapeño popper has the required bacon, and cream cheese. But this one has another ingredient which makes this transcend all poppers. They fill it with brisket too!!! They are so good an angel must get its wings every time someone orders it. Anyway to some it up. Hutchins is right there with meat u anywhere in grapevine. But Better than coopers. And Mr. Franklin down in Austin is still the grandmaster ninja of bbq.

This place is AWESOME! I agree with some other reviews. Oh so better than Spring Creek and Dickeys. The brisket has a wonderful taste. Be sure to specify if you want moist or lean, if that matters to you. Moist is oh so juicy. The sides are typical side. I can’t say one is better than the other. I’m picky about my potato salad and I really enjoy theirs. The cobbler is very good, but the banana pudding is the best. I would highly recommend you make the trip to Hutchins. Someone else made a comment about the line, and yes it can get long. But, it’s worth the wait.

Much better than expected. One guy at work said the BBQ here was mediocre at best. I came the first time and was really impressed. 4 stars. Came for the second time today. Even better. Only drawback is the line. They have a really slow throughput. They could easily double the people they get through during the rush periods.

You can read all the glowing reviews, or I can shortcut this for you: if you want the best BBQ in DFW, Hutchins is it. I’m not lying. It’s better than Hard Eight, a thousand times better than Spring Creek and Dickeys is an insult. This place has legitimate burnt ends, brisket, ribs are dynamite and the fried catfish is off the hook. The sides are great too: I love the jalapeño pintos and Mac n cheese. If you can get them, sometimes they make brisket and cream cheese stuffed jalapeño peppers grilled with thick cut bacon around them and Jesus Mary and Joseph… those are so good. Don’t leave here without the free dessert: the banana pudding is to die for. The service here will set it apart from all the rest!

Update: Also tried the jalapeño sausage as recommended by Unilocal. It was good but fatty… also really like the broccoli salad(although it was covered with cheese) and green beans(which was cooked with bacon). — — — — — — — — - I had to get bbq while I was in Dallas. This place was closeby and affordable. They sell platters that are delicious at about $ 14. I got the rib and brisket platter. The brisket comes in three varieties… Lean, fatty, mixed. It’s delicious. The ribs were even better and more tender. It comes with two sides. I liked the greens… They were spicy. Mac and cheese didn’t impress me much. The bbq sauce is served warm. Unfortunately they don’t have a variety of sauces. The wait staff is incredibly nice. I would come again. Didn’t try the desserts. I was too full. And no. Barely made a dent. It’s Texas size!

I finally made my way up to McKinney to try Hutchins BBQ. I heard great things about the bbq and the reviews made me all hyped up to grub! The smell from inside the restaurant came lingering out each time someone opened the door to leave. Oh my goodness, my mouth was salivating! Although the line was long, I was definitely going to wait for this delicious bbq. We ordered some ribs, brisket, and a few sides. Sad to say, I didn’t enjoy the sides very much. The mac n cheese was bland and the fries were just okay. I love having some good sides with my meat so it was somewhat of a letdown. Skipping to the complimentary dessert, I’d say skip the peach cobbler and go for the banana pudding. The peach cobbler was too cakey and had minimal peach flavor. The banana pudding was fine, but you don’t have to save room just to try it. Onto the meats! The brisket was pretty good and had that great smokey flavor. It’s not my favorite brisket, but it’s definitely up there in the rankings. The ribs…“droool” They were the BEST ribs I have ever had. They were moist, fell off the bone, and were really, really delicious. The inside space is a bit confusing and hectic. The spacing of the seating area and the condiments bar has you bumping into all sorts of things — people, chairs, etc. Luckily they had seats outside so we went for that. Nice open space to eat in peace! I bookmarked this location and didn’t realize they had a store in Frisco until I looked at their website. Whoops! I will have to check out the Frisco location and order those delicious ribs!

Review focusing on service(because the food is of course, amazing — averaging out to 3⁄5): — drive-thru: Very slow. Not sure if there’s only one person at the intercom and the same person would go and fetch your food, but the time it takes for you to wait to order and finally drive away for your food makes that seem likely. Est. 30 mins from intercom to departure at noon on a weekday. — call-in for pick-up: The cashier seems to be the one taking the calls. Called in for a relatively medium order(3 lbs of meat, 3 sides) around 11:20AM. Asked to pick up in 30 mins. Arrived at the store on time and nothing was ready. The cashier rung up the order and I was left to wait on the side. 10 mins later, the sides were ready. Then the cashier left and was replaced by a different girl. After waiting another 10 mins, I asked the new cashier if she could provide me with a time estimate. Nope. With no explanations. Okay… 10 mins later, the first cashier comes back. Didn’t look in my direction. The second cashier finally asks the first one and the first one grabbed a paper bag package off the shelf and hands it to me without saying anything. Moral of the story: don’t bother calling in to order. — in-store dining/AYCE: waitresses are pretty prompt, come around often enough to ask if you’d like more. Can be hard to communicate with though; they seem to be in a hurry to get your order and go. Sides aren’t filled very promptly so the first time you go through the line, you won’t be able to get everything you might want. — catering: Very friendly and prompt delivery at a reasonable price!
