At first, The staff initially gave me a hard time honoring my coupon, the tables weren’t clean entirely my first time visiting. My second visit, the staff had to introduce me to an excellent manager who was able to honor my coupon and explain to the employees what to do. She was very helpful and courteous and left me feeling happy and wanting to come again. The food:(I had to wait a little in order for them to cook it all, but that also means that everything I got was nice and fresh) We ordered the 8pc fish family meal with hush puppies, double fries, and battered shrimp. In total, everything was the nice golden brown texture you would want. It was all delicious and will definitely fill you up. My sister and father complained the fish may have had too Much batter but it did not seem to bother me. In fact, I started craving the leftovers I had the next day and to my surprise I found my sister had ate the rest. The hush puppies were light, fluffy, flavorful and delicious. The fries were a little flaccid but the taste was there and I’m sure they will improve on the fries if they could fry the rest of the food very well. The shrimp in my opinion were a lil hard to bite through(maybe one was just a lil overlooked) but the flavor was there. I would definitely come back again, the food I would say is the reason why I would give this 4 stars. It was a great deal for our money as well. It fed our family of five for $ 16+tax with leftovers to spare!

What an absolute POS place! Twice I’ve been here, and twice they don’t include napkins, any sauce, and both times the crap tastes like its been refried! The inside of the place from the drive thru window looks dirty as hell. The people seem like they couldn’t give a flying eff! Ugh…never coming back this shit sh*thole again!

Every item in my bag was a shade of brown. Brown Hush Puppies, brown fried fish, brown French fries and brown cola to wash all that brown down. Tasted exactly as you would expect it to.

What brings me, a Brooklynite, out to a random Long John Silver’s in a rather boring-looking area of Long Island? A couple years ago my colleagues at work randomly struck up a conversation on fast food chains that we remembered from our respective hometowns. As we were from all over the country, we amassed quite a list. At the time I had looked up where the closest LJS was, and, when I randomly happened to be in the«neighborhood» recently(Robert Moses State Park), I decided to give this location a shot. It’s easy to miss the driveway of this co-branded KFC/LJS. If you do, like I did, you’ll kill another ten minutes waiting at stoplights to do two U-turns to try again on this divided highway. My first impression, walking into this location, was not a great one. It appeared very dreary and, despite the whole Yum! co-branding concept being only about ten years old, it seemed very dated. The reason you don’t see too many Long John Silver’s and A&Ws these days is that they didn’t perform well for their former parent company, Yum! Brands, which still owns KFC, Taco Bell, and Pizza Hut. Yum! tried to promote LJS and A&W by co-branding them into joint locations with their three top-sellers throughout the 2000s, but this failed and LJS and A&W were sold in 2011. This makes for an awkward situation, since there are still plenty of LJS and A&W hitched up with the remaining three brands. Based on the sad-looking menu board, you can really tell that this location doesn’t really care too much about the LJS brand, focusing much more on the profitable KFC menu items. Service at this location was slow. It seemed like there were three employees, including the cashier, who would go back to the kitchen and prepare the order after each transaction. I had to wait about five minutes to order(with only one customer ahead of me) and about another five minutes for the food. Despite a low customer volume, almost all of the tables were dirty. I found a decent booth in the corner that actually had a window(the lack of which really makes the restaurant look dreary). The booth bench was loose, but I didn’t really care too much. I had ordered the«Two Pieces and More» combo, which came with two pieces of fish, cole slaw, two hush puppies, and fries. A fork was provided for the coleslaw. The packaging was rather nice. I got up and went on a hunt for tarter sauce but none was readily available. I guess the expectation is to get some packets at the counter but I didn’t feel like going up there again. Honestly, LJS, seeing that seafood’s number one condiment is tartar sauce, should have a pump for this, or, at a minimum, well stocked packets. The food tasted fine, and even though I had the smallest combo, I couldn’t even finish it. I left some of the fries behind. If the facilities had been cleaner and the service faster, this location could have easily gotten four stars in my review.
