Be coming here for 20 years. You get to know the great people at the dinner. Great family feeling. JI

Don’t go here if you’re in a hurry(or not). We sat there for ages waiting for menus while the waitress added up check and did«busy work». Then it took another 10 – 15 minutes to actually have our order taken.‘ A health inspector needs to visit this place an=s my eggs were burnt on outside by uncooked on the inside — salmonella would have made my day complete — I had stomach pains all morning.

Glacial service. Dirty. Chatty and entirely ineffective waitresses. The food? Not worth it. Run away.

I struggled with this one because admittedly I had the second best omelette of my life here. Ultimately I could only give them 3 stars tho because they are inconsistent, and more often than not the food is just your average diner food. While the staff is always friendly, I would say service is typically average as well. On my most recent visit there was only one guy serving all of the tables, so a little bit of a wait would be understandable. Instead of asking us to wait a few moments he told us to take a seat in a booth that hadn’t been wiped down yet and was clearly dirty. Same thing happened to a couple arriving about 15 min after us. I’ll probably continue to go back once in awhile hoping to get an omelette as good as the one I had when I first visted, and there are some home made desserts that looked like they might be good. If you go just make sure to have reasonable expectations.

The first thing noticed when walking in was the tables were dirty. We are seated at a table and the waitress wiped the table down for us with bleach water. she brings us are milkshakes we ask for vanilla got vanilla bean. The scrambled eggs weren’t fully cooked and were watery. The pancakes had the texture of sawdust. Sausage tasted like grease. The only thing good was the buttered toast

Stopped here looking for a quick lunch on our way to VT. I was skeptical based on the exterior but gave it a try anyway. Its a dated greek diner(32 years in business) with a comfortable lunch counter and several booths. The waitstaff were pleasant, friendly and accommodating. I had a delicious pastrami rubin, it was lean, tender and perfectly toasted on the grill. Their house made coleslaw was a tangy mayo and vinegar style that complemented the rubin nicely. My son had the gyro burger. He said«best burger I’ve ever had», and hes had a lot of burgers. Hes is a bit of a burger snob! The burger was a hand formed patty of ground gyro meat mixed with feta and served on a fresh soft kaiser roll. Wife had a grilled cheese with bacon and a side of house made corned beef hash. A it light on the bacon but a yrue«grilled» cheese. I tasted the hash and can say it was tasty. Finished lunch with«Toms» house made rice pudding, creamy, tender and served with just enough whipped cream and cinnamon. Most if not all of the desserts looked homemade. Its obvious they care about the food they put out at Olympos diner and their customers. You don’t stay in business 30+ years not caring. We may never happen by this place again but if we do we will stop in. Five stars for being a great local diner!

Passed by and noticed Olympos, so we stopped after a trip to JobLot. Clean and cozy, sit near the old fashioned counter which looks like the original diner car type structure Any diner ought to have great coffee and Olmypus does. My wife is picky about coffee and loved it here, fresh hot and a warm up. Her chicken orzo soup was scratch made and served hot, flavorful comfort food. Her BLT was very good too, she was very pleased with her meal. I had pancakes and bacon, three large panckaes I ate them all but shoud have gotten the short stack [2]. These pancakes were out of this world… fluffy and ligjt inside, nicely done on the outside, served piping hot with a healthy smear of butter on top and syrup on the side. So so good I knew 3 were too much but couldnt stop until they were gone. Wow. A simple pancake but sooo good. Staff were all very friendly and genuinely nice, not typical anymore unfortunately, but they make you feel at home amd welcome. Convenient and easy off/in 91

An adorable spot. Close your eyes; its the 1960s without music. Instead, there’s a great LED tellie playing THETODAYSHOW. Fun. The diner’s small breakfast menu was rather expensive for me. Truly a surprise. I had no idea East Main Street MERIDEN could command the prices. Not a truckdriver spot, it must cater to ‘COMPANY’ men from nearby industrial parks, lodgers in local accommodations, and to a variety of well-fixed professionals. I did manage to dine without spending $ 10 for breakfast, however. I enjoyed a good egg with crispy fresh bacon & toast. The coffee was happily refilled. I appreciated this but did point out that the waitress poured less than a cup of leftover java into a new carafe of coffee. Small amounts of coffee in carafes burn when on hot plates. Not a good idea. I also did not appreciate the pleasant gent who sat a few seats away pointing his cell phone at me at shoulder height. One never knows if I am to be featured without MYCONSENT. Hey, I’m UNION. I seek satisfying ‘residuals’. Still, I enjoyed this old-fashioned ‘personal’ diner experience. How’d the waitress do? She did just fine.

The food was authentic and great and the atmosphere fun. We ordered the Greek salads with grilled chicken and a gyro to share. Abundant servings. Would recommend to anyone wanting fresh, healthy food.

One word to describe this place … Ratchet. While the male wait staff was nice and courteous, the waitress I had was gross. Killing flies with the diner menu in front of customers. Telling personal stories about urinating and what color is was that day out loud while I was eating was disgusting !! The food was OK at best. I’m afraid to see how they even prepare it. It’s more like a trailer park hang out than a diner.

It is 8:00AM and I saw a guy walk out, and urinate on the front lawn. Avoid this place at all costs… don’t do it!

Was a typical diner setting. The booth however are small. The place was very busy on Sunday. I had seafood platter. One son had an omelet and my other son a steak witch was slightly under cooked. The server apologized and had it cooked a little longer. The price was cheep compared to others. The people were very helpful and friendly. The omelet was perfect. The seafood platter was good. The overall experience was pleasant

A traditional diner; booths, counter with stationary stools and semi-irritated wait staff. It may have been that they were short staffed when I was there but there was alot of things being banged around and clanged by the employees which was disconcerting. Food was good, no complaints there.

This place is very tight & small. A booth fits about a person and a half and the food was very gross. They got 2 out of the 3 orders right & the corn beef hash was very gross and dry. There wasn’t anyone there to greet you so it being my 1st time there, we had no idea whether to sit ourselves or wait to be seated. The place also gave off like it was dirty even though the window sills seemed like they were dusted weekly. Aside from that, salt & pepper shakers were oily and my home made fries weren’t cooked all the way. This will be our 1st and last visit here. Disappointing since we wanted to try out somewhere new. Go to Huxley’s down the street… LOVE that place, just wanted to mix it up and see what else was out there.

Great service here. Love how the server told me what was really good there without me asking that right there makes me tip extra. Other places be like everything is good feels like they just don’t care. I had the gyro burger made ground gyro meat and beef it was so so good!!! The portions are large and prices are reasonable here not to expensive. They do take credit card here. Will be back soon.

An example of a prototypical diner. Unfortunately I ordered a panini and they gave my a turkey and avocado sandwich on ciabatta bread. I did really enjoy the long bartop and two flatscreens set to espn. Overall though, good value and a cute spot.

This place is solid, delicious and clean. Had a delicious California benedict — the avocado was fresh the eggs cooked perfectly and the price was right. Perfect spot to get some food before taking on the day!

Very friendly staff, lots of specials and good food. I’ve worked in Meriden for a couple of years but I’ve never gotten around to eating here, but I’ll definitely be going back. Everyone typically goes to Huxley’s which is good but kind of over-rated. This place is just as good, if not better, and has more reasonable prices. I had the 2−2−2 breakfast special and it was great. The platter was packed with food and the pancakes were fluffy yet substantial. My friend got the California omelette and he said it was great. It looks like they haven’t updated the menu on their website in a while, but there were probably an additional 10 – 15 different daily/weekly specials on their chalkboards, so they have excellent variety.

Driving to the New Haven train station this morning, I missed my exit for the Cromwell Diner. Having worked in Meriden for a while, I remembered a small diner on E. Main Street in Meriden, so we headed over there instead. What a nice little place the Olympos DIner is! Absolutely wonderful friendly cheerful service– from the hostess to our waiter. None of the perfunctory small talk, but genuine witty conversations with delightful folks! Service? I saw a waitress deliver a hot chocolate with whipped cream to a little girl who polished off the whipped cream in five minutes. A few minutes later she came back with the can of whipped cream to refill it and added a splash of chocolate sauce on top !! How’s that for customer service! We had the standard fares for breakfast– pancakes, french toast, eggs, some ham, sausage, bacon, and home fries, Everything was excellent. And the coffee was exceptionally good too. We loved this place– an old-time neighborhood diner with a real old-school feel to it. Go check it out.
