Ordered a large pizza with a bunch of toppings. One of which was onions. One would think the onions would be caramelized or at least, oh I don’t know, cooked. Completely raw. Was not filling at all, way overpriced, and just not very satisfying.

Good food over priced. 2.50 for soda if there’s a next time I’ll drink water. But maybe consider pricing toppings based on what their going on instead of a flat rate. Because the amount going on a personal or a small is less than on a large. Doesn’t make sense.

First time here and was not sure what to expect, as ok I pizza. It was great watching the hand tossing of pizza crust in the air, like the good old days. Loved the brick cooling taste of the crust. We got a half and half Pizza with light sauce which was perfect for each side. The crust for those who do not know is on the thin side, but NOT like cardboard or pita chips. It is soft for bending and chewing. Our server Brooke was great with knowledge of wines and the tastes of every item(they have to taste or sample the wine and food). One good thing is we were not rushed at all. Brooke brought out drink refills without us having to hunt her down. With the people outside, watching the waterfalls, and the personnel who work here … we are coming back and you should give them a try.

The pizza was good and the customer service was great but very pricy for lunch. We got 2 beers each and 2 personal pizzas. For $ 90 I could of had dinner. For those that want to if the pizza was good, it delicious for a New York style pizza with a good soft crunchy crust and it is really thin like a real New Yorker style pizza. I wish there was a combo style pizza so I wouldn’t have had to create one.

Ugh, who knew I’d love coming to the Village so much? I love this space because it fronts the water fountain, and on a beautiful day like today, sitting on the patio with a glass of sangria is divine. I also come here lots because of the play area, which my son LOVES(as do i). But the reason for the updated review? The kale chopped salad — it’s light, refreshing with the lemon vinaigrette, and totally filling thanks to the kale. This with the white sangria might be my go to summer treat. So GOOD! Service has always been great, to boot. :)

The service and ambience was good, the pizza was awesome. I’d suggest grilled chicken, anchovies, mushrooms, black olives and jalapeños on a white with garlic base. Only downside is that it’s a little over priced !

This is my favorite pizza place. I am from the North East so I consider myself a kind of pizza expert. I always get the red sauce with the ricotta, pepperoni and spicy chicken sausage. The ricotta gives it such an awesome extra texture. I am also active duty AF and my first week back last year I ate here twice. I leave again this month and I’ll be look forward to it again! There are a couple of negatives. 1, the soda always tastes horrible. I dont understand why. Maybe it is the carbonation. But soda isn’t good for you anyway. So I just get water. 2, if you pay in cash they don’t give you exact change. If your bill is $ 28.26, give them a 30 you will get $ 2 back. I would like my .76 cents back. But they don’t have a normal cash register that carries change. Only 2 negatives that I see at this place.

Antipasto was decent. Tiramisu was average. Pizza was okay but it was pricey for the quality pizza. Service was okay.

Our party of five waited 20 minutes for a coveted outside table, worth it to see the hourly fountain show, and watch the evening lights come on in The Village. Our server was attentive, but not overly so. We shared a large house salad, which was better than most– with romaine lettuce, cherry tomatoes, green olive, red onion, roasted sweet red peppers, and mushroom with a vinaigrette dressing. It was enough for everyone to enjoy some. Then the brick oven pizza, which was delicious, hot, and large. The calzone was full of ricotta and delightful Italian sausage. Leave room for dessert. Chocolate cheesecake was sweet and rich, and the original cheesecake was more lemony, and delicious in a different way. The red berry glaze drizzled on the plate made us want more. Thanks for a nice evening!

You pay for the name and get pretty good food. Look, it’s expensive, in a new, trendy area that probably has sky high leases. Regardless, the pizza is super good, the service was great, and the restaurant is very welcoming. We had a small for two and a caprese salad which was plenty for us. The caprese was fresh and our pizza, with ricotta, was spot on. Also enjoyed a few glasses of sangria which was nice on such a hot day, just enough sweet with a good wine aftertaste. Hope this place sticks around, if you’re willing to pay for great pizza, check it out. Menu is straightforward and they focus on great ingredients and excellent flavor.

Not a bad restaurant but not for me. Grimaldi’s is the newest food offering in The Village, sporting pizza, salads, calzones, and desserts. Everyone in the party I went with enjoyed the food(especially the dessert) but to me, Grimaldi’s is merely ok. I am going to sound like a grumpy old man when I say this but there is such a thing as having too good of service and Grimaldi’s is guilty of this. Our waiter was great at first but then he just would not leave us alone. I am all for having my drink consistently full but over-bearing waiters that don’t let you enjoy your food are a pet peeve of mine. As for the food, it was nothing special. That is not saying the food was bad, it wasn’t. It just wasn’t worth the price they were asking. This seems to be a trend throughout most of The Village’s eateries so I wasn’t too surprised when my bill came. I ordered a personal sized calzone(which was a very good sized portion) and when it came it was good but not thrilling. Grimaldi’s is trying to be a little like an upscale Old Chicago but Old Chicago’s food is better and cheaper. Having said that, I do like Grimaldi’s ambiance and décor better. One thing I will mention again is that everyone in my group loved the desserts they ordered. The cheesecake was an especial favorite. Overall, I think other people would probably enjoy this restaurant, it just wasn’t my kind of place.

WE’VEBEENTOTHEORIGINALINBROOKLYN… just sayin’. Our party of two dined at Grimaldi’s last night. We had a 20 minute wait(but there were empty tables). Me thinks they were short on staff. I snagged a nice glass of Pinot Grigio(Tuesdays are half price wine nights!) at the bar as we waited in the lobby. The restaurant itself is really cool. As you can see from other reviewer’s comments, the wine bottle lighting is VERY unique.(I was wondering how I could do that at home…) We sat on the patio – fortunately, they have alfresco ceiling fans, or else it would have been a little to warm for my tastes. The only reason I’m giving Grimaldi’s three stars is ultimately we were abandoned by our server a couple times – which resulted in long waits. 1-the small caesar salad came in a bowl and is big enough for two people to share. We did and it was very good. 2-we each ordered«personal pizzas:» ham & red sauce and a margherita pizza. They were both VERY delicious. The margherita pizza had fresh, uncooked basil and tomato on it that was really tasty. 3-should have ordered a ½ and ½ small pizza. The personal pizzas are quite large(double the size of a Pizza Hut personal pizza). You can tell by the size of the box, 12“x12″ that their personal pizzas are GENEROUS. 4-if our waiter hadn’t neglected us, this would have been a four or five star review. In fact, his co-worker came to our aid a couple times. I saw our waiter with only one other table on the patio. He definitely could have had his hands full inside. But, it’s a reflection of the entire operation. Management there should hire more help. We will be back.

Not much to say that hasn’t already been said. Very very good pizza. Some have griped about price. When you consider location, quality and portions, then the prices are more than fair. A small will feed 2 people with leftovers. If you’re on a budget, go to Pizza Hut. Note– if you add jalapeños, like everything else, you will get a very generous serving ;).

So let’s go back a little, i lived in NYC and Grimaldi’s is so famous there. Every time I was around Brooklyn Bridge, I wanted to eat from here but did not wanna stand in a long line which went around the block. Geezz.(my head: not gonna happen) So once I was passing by The village and read Grimalidi’s … I was a bit shocked & happy. I checked online to make sure it was from the same restaurant chain! YESS!!! That was it! I had to eat pizza from here!!! Since that day, we have done take outs and have dined in several times. We generally order a large pizza with jalapeños(FYI: they are super spicy), pesto, artichokes, etc… It tastes SO Good! The crust is tasty too, I believe it’s Brooklyn style! And we generally take wine with it! Love the combo! It could be a bit expensive sometimes but one large pizza can be shared by 3 people, it’s quite filling !! This one time they messed up our order(they added onions). So they made a fresh new pizza and gave first one free, so we took home 2 pizzas! Yay! :) I love the ambiance, inside or outside! It looks over the huge fountain. I am definitely gonna keep going back here and recommend this place!

The pizza was terrific but very very expensive. $ 18 for a 18″ pizza(that does not feed a family of 5) with no toppings, toppings are an additional $ 2-$ 4 each!!! Great pizza just way to expensive.

It was an ok experience. The staff were fantastic. But the price point for the food. wow. we ordered 2 personal pizza’s, 2 salads and 1 beer and the ticket was over $ 60.00. And to go to a «pizza» place and spend that… wow. I had sticker shock. The food was decent, nothing specatular for that price. Yes we had left overs for the next day, but if I knew it was going to be that much I may have re-thought eating there.

Quick, fast service and pretty good pizza. We felt like needed to season with bit of salt(unusual for us but.). It passed the folding test, folded in half easily. Great mozz cheese. We had 30 minutes to get to movie, they were quick to get us in & out!

First time to Grimaldi’s. Loved it. We started with a carafe of wine, half price on Tuesdays! Out table opened up not 5 minutes later. We ordered the antipasto plate to start, nice selection of mozzarella cheese, salami, olives, roasted red peppers, and bread. Then we shared a small spinach salad(small feeds 2 easy), and it was excellent. We then had a small 12″ pizza, with a few toppings. It was a thin crust, and very tasty. We will definitely be back. Wait staff was very courteous as well. Highly recommend.

Yogi Berra. West v East. Brooklyn, Baby! Value. Friends. Flies. All relevant to our first visit to Grimaldi’s. The bottom line is we will happily go back. Although maybe after Treasure Valley fly season has ended. But I’m getting ahead of myself. Those were at the end of the list. YOGIBERRA: Yogi says this is a true story. He ordered a pie at the counter in a NY pizzeria and headed to a table. The guy behind the counter hollered out to him, «Hey, Yogi, six pieces or eight?» Yogi replied, «Six! I could never eat eight!» There was wild laughter in the NYCTV studio audience where Yogi shared this. You get it. A certain size pizza cut in six pieces or eight pieces is the same amount to eat. Grimaldi’s has pizza in three sizes, Personal(12″), Small(16″), Large(18″). We were four in our party and ordered two smalls. Each couple had half a pie to take home with them. And here’s the deal. In what is typical for Brooklyn service, pies are cut in sixths. Next time we’d ask the kitchen to cut them in eighths because now we know a small is a perfect share to size by four lighter eaters. WEST v EASTCOAST: Noting some review complaints on items such as absence of ranch dressing and need to order toppings separately, that is absence of «special combo» pizzas, that may not be a failure of Grimaldi’s but a difference in expectations on West v East Coasts for pizza. My hubby is Italian American born and raised in Brooklyn, His expectation is you have a cheese pie(red sauce and mozzarella) or maybe a white pie(olive oil and mozzarella) and if you really MUST add something you select from a traditional list like onions, bell peppers… When we moved from NY to SF he was appalled, that’s the right verb, to find people put things like ham and pineapple on their pizzas and called it a Hawaiian or similar. I’m a native Oregonian. It doesn’t seem out of bounds to me. Regional expectations differ. Grimaldi’s leans East. BROOKLYN, BABY!: Grimaldi’s here is an offshoot of Grimaldi’s in Brooklyn. It is not a franchised store, but an outpost of south and westward expansion by this privately owned business.(Joe Ciolli is current CEO.) Why Meridian was selected for a Grimaldi’s I know not. But I’m glad they came. Grimaldi’s pizza is coal oven baked. That produces a different crust outcome for texture and edge toasting than a wood fired or gas fired pizza oven. They use water specially formulated to resemble Brooklyn water in the dough.(They do not serve that to drink, thank goodness; I can say from personal experience drinking Brooklyn’s water is no treat.) There are bakers who swear this water is the secret ingredient that makes pizza crust or bagels made in Brooklyn the best ever. Criticism driven by regional expectations are not be Grimaldi’s «bad „but simply different strokes for different folks. VALUE: Toppings are first quality, sauces and cheeses and meats and veggies all. We thought it a good value that two 16“ pizzas with five toppings between them that served four people with half left over to take away clocked in at only $ 42.(16» = $ 14 — $ 16 red to white and toppings range $ 2 to $ 4). FRIENDS: Food is always more fun to eat when friends are present and so it was today to have friends along who had eaten at Grimaldi’s in Las Vegas and who have traveled in Italy. Whether this is Italian style pizza or Brooklyn style pizza we agreed if not perfect pizza it is good pizza. We also all agreed we would have enjoyed it more without the. …FLIES: We sat inside specifically because it is fly season in the Treasure Valley. But the darned things were buzzing inside too given how sneaky they can be getting in as people come and go. This is no criticism of Grimaldi’s. Ir is a heads up that flies are an issue this time of year.(Roughly now through early October will be fly season in this part of Treasure Valley if history is prologue.) We will wait to go back until the flies flee. THIS N THAT: 1) AMBIANCE: Light and bright; lots of windows, lights inserted in wine bottles hang from the high tin ceiling, red checked table cloths. High perch seating in bar along with a couple of standard height tables. More standard height table seating in main dining room and out on patio that is along a fountain. Great music on the sound system. Alas, a TV or two in the walls. Tables tightly spaced at walls, not quite so bad in middle of room. 2) ACCESSIBILITY: Level in and throughout main dining room. Chairs may be a bit tight in some places. Appears level out and accessible on patio. Wheelchair access in bar looks dicey for space although there are a couple of standard height tabkes there. 3) MENU: Has antipasti and salads too. 4) SERVICE: Young servers were friendly taking our order, delivering our food, filling our glasses. The manager thanked us for coming in. Bravo.
