East Coast Christian Center

Great praise and worship! Casual atmosphere and wondeful pastoral staff. Has a coffee bar for the main services (4) and has several campuses. A wide variety of interests so ministries for children all the way up through senior adults. Small friendly breakfast café on Sunday mornings at the Avenue, right next to the main sanctuary and the Avenue offers an acoustic service with a more intimate size environment. I love this church!

I haven’t been to this church in 5 years… and I thought I check Unilocal to see how this place was doing. To my surprise… there isn’t any reviews on this place. So… here I am the first to review this place.
Let me first caveat this review is 5 years old and is for the night service on Sunday for the young adults.
This church burned me out. Plain and simple and is absoutely awful. Please let me list the reasons before you condem me.
— They give a message about how the more money you give god and the church, the more you will get in return.
— They use to have these «Life» groups, and I led one for swing dancing. The pastor and I were at ends about something and in the end the most cruel thing he said to me was, «People who go to Life groups are people who don’t have lives.»
— Pastor and I were at ends about a performance that the Life group I led was going to do. The ladies were wearing shorts under the skirts. Apparently that is also inappropriate.
— They preach about how drinking is an awful thing and are extremely short sighted in terms that we are ADULTS.
— They talk about speaking in tongues! I’m sorry… when people talk about speaking in tongues, I throw my hands in the air. To speak in tongues it is suppose to be done with two or more in and it is in unison and there has to be a translator!
— Oh don’t worry kids… if you don’t know how to speak in tongues. They will teach you! Apparently we can now learn how to have a gift from god.
— Oh yes and every week the message is the same. «Sex, drugs, depression and lonliness.»
Outside of that… there day service is actually pretty good and would say that’s way more worthwhile to go to then the evening «hipster» service. Sadly
