Got to stop going to this store!
Last two orders have been wrong. Order # 558 949 supposed to be western bbq burger, don’t think so.
No onion straws or bacon, hardly any onion or bbq sauce.
I think the cashier knew it was wrong but she didn’t try to correct it.
Don’t expect this from Steak n Shake. Other stores do a much better job.
(Drive thru by the way, no time to go back and correct it, on lunch break).

Our last visit was horrible. The place was full, took a bit to seat, and then our orders were quickly taken, but after that… Aside from the fast delivery of the mostly-​completely-​melted-​and-​not-​like-​a-​shake-​at-​all milkshake, we waited 40 some odd minutes to get some sub-​par junk. My daughters food came out 5 mins or so before ours and it was typical goodness steakburger sliders with the fries that freeze 2 seconds after the plate hits the table. Our food made no sense. I got the taco salad which had a small scoop of tasty seasoned hamburger, 10 diced tomatoes, 3 slices of avacado, all on a sea of greens and tortilla strips. Just not enough stuff. My guy got the uh… super chili spaghetti or something which… turns out, doesn’t actually have chili on it. Instead, it’s some greasy, Chef-​Boyardee tasting junk ‘sauce’ on some meat and a thick layer of cheese on some generic pasta. The server was super accommodating, though, and brought a bowl of chili with no upcharge. Good thing, too, cause my guy couldn’t stomach the grease-​spaghetti.
The best part was when I got up to go pay for my ticket and there were 20 other people trying to pay so I was just going to leave the money on the table… I realized I didn’t have the right amount to break and was about to head up to the clusterfuck when our server magically appeared, helped break a 20, apologized, and we were able to escape without dealing with the counter crowd. So, thank you for that!

Do not have any words how bad the service and food is. Waited to order for 15 min.
Ordered and had to wait 45 minutes to get food. Ordered grilled chicken taco salad and got a beef taco salad. Sent it back and had to wait another 15 minutes. Friend ordered Prince of Royal Burger. Bacon was raw. NOT COOKED.
Will never come back to this restaurant.

Typical SnS but too busy, crowded, it can be sloooooow. Wait staff nice. And patient. Milk shake arrived melted. Chili Three Ways cooled off. All the result of a popular place operating to capacity. Love it nonetheless.

I will give this place 3 stars solely for the shakes. Don’t get me wrong, the food is good. But you’ve gotta like some curly black hair with it. Literally ate here on multiple occasions and never failed to find a hair in every meal I ordered. Decided to just stick to the milkshakes from now on.

After a quick search, this was one of the only places in the area open at 2am for food. Luckily I made it before a rush of customers showed up. Only one waitress was on hand but was able to get everyone started and still tend to the patrons who were already eating.
Ordered off the $ 4 menu which has a lot of excellent choices. My burger was great and service was ok. Will definitely return before my trip is over to try something else on the menu.

This was my first time here and I am EXTREMELY disappointed in the lack of service they provide.
We just wanted a late night snack so quickly went to the drive-​thru to try it out. Of course we had to try a steakburger so we ordered a bacon double, guacamole steakburger and a regular double. 2 fries and 1 drink– oddly enough it only came out to $ 10.70 after the girl read out the order. The totals didn’t add up but we just went with it. As we were waiting, we decided to ask and see if we can upgrade our soda to a shake (since the lady who took our order cut us off). The girl at the counter ignored us and seemed irritated that we even asked and stated that we should have thought about it before coming to the actual window. It really wasn’t even a big deal we just asked a simple question. She grabbed the other girl and asked if we ordered a shake– which we didn’t because we got cut off. After we said it was no big deal she just said «whatever» and rolled her eyes. I’m still trying to understand what her issue was!!! A simple «no we cannot upgrade but we can certainly add it to your order» would’ve been suffice. Usually I’m the type of person who would not tolerate this customer service but I was speechless!!!
I’ll also add that when we paid the $ 10 we didn’t even have 3 burgers. The girl only put it 2 burgers, 2 fries, and a drink!
I’m only giving this place 2* because the burger was pretty decent for fast food. It was juicy and flavorful. If I were to come back I for sure won’t be going to this location.

I have tried 5 times at various times to get Biscuits/​Gravy and the poor Girl has to tell me their oven isn’t working (and this poor girl can tell it’s me) and she doesn’t want to tell me or give me this news… I’m sorry Steak and Shake is a BIG Chain fix your oven what kind of restaurant can’t afford to fix or buy a new oven.

A favorite of everyone even my dog Jack who celebrated his eighth birthday today by getting his favorite Steak and shake milkshake!

We needed a good late night place to go & trusting the Unilocal reviews it was between here and hooters. Everything else open after 10 had 3 or less stars. There aren’t that many people here, but we waited a long time for our drinks. The manager came out after we ordered and informed us they where out of ingredients for the philly steak burger my date ordered. He didn’t mind ordering the mushroom Swiss burger in its place. The manager offered him a free shake & since he doesn’t do sweets I chose the salted caramel pretzel shake. Our food came at a decent time. The BBQ burger doesn’t look like the picture, but it was good. It could have used more sauce & the «fried onions» are like the chips you put on green bean casserole. The waitress asked if we needed anything else when she brought us our food, but didn’t come back during our meal to see if we needed anything. I would have loved some more sauce. The burger wasn’t that filling, but it was good & better than hooters. I’m slightly disappointed in my experience tonight, but not enough to not come back.

Breakfast is very affordable and pretty good! Lunch and dinner are okay, milkshakes are great and with kids eat free on weekends it is really affordable! Service can be sketch sometimes!

I like the place because it is simple, inexpensive, fast, and the food is good! The place can get real busy at times and the staff seems run down at times as well but all in all I like it!

Love Steak ‘n Shake. I don’t live within their footprint now, so I always add it to our list when in town.
This visit I strayed from the usual steak burger to the taco salad I spotted on the $ 4 meal menu. It was really, really good. The presentation was pretty, which caught my eye while passing another table on the way to ours. Lettuce on the bottom, with red tortilla straps, tomato, mixed shredded cheese, ground beef (or chicken), and drizzled a sauce that tasted like ranch.
I caved and ordered my favorite shake, a malted chocolate. It came in a tall shake glass. The shake was topped with whipped cream and a cherry. It wasn’t served with a silver cup, as in years past. The shake was excellent. They provide a spoon and straw, so I opted to slowly sip the thick shake using the straw.
The others in my party ordered the steak burgers with fries. My husband always gets the cheese fries, then sprinkles the seasoned salt on it. Yummy!
The new $ 4 menu is really a deal. Where else can you get a steak burger and fries for $ 4?
New to the menu for me are mini burgers, and a wide assortment of burgers with different toppings, such as bacon and guacamole. For me the original steak burger, and now the taco salad, will always be my favorites.

My husband and I recently took some of our family from Mexico here to enjoy some good ol’ American classics. I have been here before, and while I do enjoy their burgers and milkshakes, I can’t say that this is my favorite restaurant or that is the best of its kind.
However, I had not been here in ages and it baffled me how packed this place was! Every single table was filled with families and smiling kids, so I know they must be doing something right.
On this particular day I had some fries with a Vanilla Brownie milkshake, and it was fantastic all around! I mean how can you go wrong with that perfect mix??? The service was also pretty decent, but not the best one I’ve had.
This is overall an ok place to take the kids or to get a milkshake through the drive-​thru, but is not somewhere I would hang out at a regular basis.

This is the best burger joint on the planet! A triple w fries for 4 bucks? Really? Oh yeah did you want a huge variety of awesome shakes as well? You cannot beat the value at this place. The only negative for me was the long drive thru time, but hey with the value and nice service I’ll wait a few more minutes !! Can’t say enough good about sns. Another thing is the ²⁴⁄₇ hrs! I think I’m going to go get me a burger now ! Ltr

Steak and Shake was exactly what I expected. They are a step above your usual fast food, but they are still fast food. Normally I actively avoid even the best of the worst fast food, but I was told their shakes are actually pretty good. (They aren’t.) I ended up getting some bbq sliders and a coffee milkshake.
The milkshakes are clearly made from some kind of mix, and don’t have the consistency of ice cream. The burgers actually weren’t that bad, but were by no means good either.
Overall, MEH, but they’re open late if you are into that kind of thing.

This review is based on a recent weekend breakfast visit.
The service was very, very slow. I couldn’t tell if they were just very shorthanded, but everything took forever.
When we got our food, everyone said that their hash browns were barely warm and just looked like a pile of burnt potatoes. No seasoning. No buttery crunchy crust. Really bad. The eggs weren’t received much better. The side of bacon was thin, limp and swimming in a puddle of grease in the dish.
I had their biscuits & gravy and it was OK. Really just OK, though. But others agreed it was the best thing on the table.
I guess you get what you pay for, because it is pretty inexpensive to have breakfast here. I think I’ll spend a bit more and skip it in the future if we want to go out for breakfast.

I give this place 3 stars because it was clean. It took them a little longer than it should have to seat us as they were not busy because we beat the lunch crowd. We ordered off of the $ 4 menu thinking it would be faster. Wrong. Not only was it not faster the quality of the food was terrible. The fries were frozen shoestring fries that had been cooked sometime around opening and left under the heat lamp that must of had a bulb not working. My burger wasn’t even warm enough to melt the cheese it had on it. I don’t think I will be making the trip to eat there again.

Tasty burger here.
No disappointment but not in a hurry for a repeat.
