I love the green chile & garlic pistachios and the Pistachio Rose Wine at Heart of the Desert, but the customer service leaves something to be desired.
They let you sample the wines, but they do not have a restroom available for paying customers (even ones that spend upwards of $ 100). When I asked the lady serving wine if they had a restroom she was very rude and gave me directions to the public restrooms down the road. I had to bite my tongue, make my purchases and run to a friends house to use the restroom.
Needless to say I do no think I will be visiting again…

Escondido, CA
It was over 100 degrees and after a long road trip, we decided to stop at Old Mesilla to look around and stretch our legs a bit. Ended up stopping at this cute little shop and tried a free taste of Pistachio Rose wine. It was slightly sweet, but chilled so it worked perfect on a hot day. The customer service was amazing and the shop had some non-​wine related things that would look great on the wall. They also had chilled apple cider which I was thinking about but went for the wine instead.
For a nice family owned place, give them a try.
