It may not look like much from the outside but the patio is cozy and the dinning room is pleasant. The food is delicious and service staff is very friendly. Some day’s they have local artists performing on the patio. I’ve also heard they do karaōke too. Check this place out you won’t be disappointed!

Awesome dinner and great location to listen to C. W. Ayon play in the plaza at Mesilla, NM. A memorable experience and one I would like to repeat.

One seemingly normal weekday, my boyfriend and I decided to hop in the truck and head to Mesilla the best way, the back roads. When we got there we did a little shopping and then decided we’d have a quick bite. We’d already been to Double Eagle/Pepper’s On The Plaza(and got one amazing haunted tour while we were there) and to The Dog House so we thought the next place to hit up would be Emilia’s On The Plaza. Almost every time I’ve been to Mesilla, Emilia’s has had live music performances on the patio. This time there wasn’t so I’m making the assumption that’s a weekend thing. Either way, they’ve grabbed my attention quite a few times. We walked into a pretty tiny space, but a comfortable dining area. The most interesting part of the design was the ledge on the wall that is clearly used as bench seating. It was just different. If we were to go again, I think I would actually prefer to eat outside on the patio. I suppose it would be pretty loud if there was live music during dinner on the patio, but I wouldn’t mind if I just came for a cold drink and to watch the performance. The food wasn’t the best of Mesilla, but it was alright. Chips and salsa came with our meals, but I found them unmemorable. The only thing that really stuck in my mind about the salsa was that it simply wasn’t my favorite. I dug into my red enchiladas when they arrived. Lots of cheese, just the way I like it. Fresh onions on top as I requested. All around a good dish, but I did find the sauce pretty acidic. If I did these again I think I would just ask for sour cream to tone down the acid. My boyfriend got the fish tacos and they looked pretty good, but I wouldn’t know since he didn’t share with me. I did like there beans and that they put cheese on it… it’s the simple things. I like Emilia’s and that they aren’t trying to be fancy just because of their location. They’re just a good place to pick up some Mexican food and a beer while listening to some live music.

When the weather is nice this is a great location to sit outside in an eclectic set of mismatched chairs and wobbly tables. They offer decent mexican food in a very casual setting, frequently with live music or DJs. The staff are young and friendly. You can listen to music from Old Mesilla Square when they have events, but the restaurant seems to always have music going at the same time(almost in competition with the square). If you live in a house with 2 TVs on at once, you’ll feel right at home. The salsa is tasty and will keep vampires at bay with the large amount of raw garlic.

Blah. Was not happy at all. My original review was not too nice so here is the toned down version; Mexican food is not my favorite at this place, I understand the burgers are average. Next time I’ll head on over to the other side of t h e plaza…

Nice place by the plaza that sometimes has live music. I had the pulled pork cemita and my wife had the cuban pulled pork. The pork was tender and moist. The cemita had some slaw, avocado, and queso fresco. Very nice. It came with steak fries and there was chips and salsa to start. Not the cleanest looking place, but they have some solid meals.

Average Mexican food but still good. The chili verde is made with potatoes and I’m not used to having it that way. Beans and rice were okay but the tortillas were great. Chili rellenos were decent but they batter only the top side. Enchilada was average and not exciting. No two chairs match and it is very southwest motif.

Cuban plate was really good. Probably top Mexican food in las cruces outside of Habaneros. Inside décor is well done and there’s a decent beer selection. Love music outside. Charming experience and great location.

20 minutes later I threw up. Avoid this place. The Mexican food is better at Taco Bell and probably fresher.

We stopped in at Emilia’s today for lunch. I had a stuffed sopapilla(ground beef) and my wife had the fish tacos. Both meals were good. I was surprised that chips and salsa did not come with our meals. Service was fine until they got busier, then it slowed down, especially at checking out.

Stopped for lunch on our visit to Messila; Emilia’s is just across the street from the picturesque and historic Plaza. Enjoyed the grilled cheese and ham-avocado sandwiches, as well as fresh lemonade. Really liked the food, décor, and service!

Super cute bar/restaurant in the quaint town of Mesilla. The live music on the patio on Saturday afternoon totally added to its charm. Emilia’s was heavily staffed so there was never a time when I was sitting at the table in need of something. I had a margarita(a little too sweet but not a big deal) and a grilled turkey and swiss sandwich with jalepeno/cranberry sauce(YUM). This economical place was great for a nice, relaxing Saturday!
