Went here because of a Groupon deal. The idea of stuffed burgers appealed to me. However, I didn’t think it was well executed here. My stuffed burger was salty and the inside was barely warm. Won’t be going back.

Just moved here from NC. I lucked into this place, due to the fact co-workers suggested it. Over the past 3 months this place has become a habit. The food is addictive. All the burgers are Great! and there is always a burger of the day that is not on the regular menu. The Onion Rings and Fried Mushrooms are AWESOME! The staff is great, the day workers are a little reserved, but the afternoon and night staff really go out of thier way to make everyone feel welcomed and make sure you want to come back

Updated Review: I was so happy with my service from the day our electricity went out that talked my mom into getting to-go orders from here again. My experience was wildly different. I called in my order and the person on the phone said it would take 15 minutes. I put on my timer and drove down to Juicy Lucy’s and waited in my car until the timer went off. While I was waiting I checked into Unilocal so I wouldn’t forget — I’m glad I did that because that’s how I knew I waited and EXTRA15MINUTESFORMYORDER! We ordered two hamburgers and fried mushrooms. While I was waiting around(there were only three people seated so they were not busy at all) the TV was on SOLOUD that it made sitting in there unbearable. So after I waited and waited, the food finally came out — the Mushrooms were piping hot but the burger and fries had def. sat there for about fifteen minutes. Not impressed at all. :/ Past Review: Our electricity went out and we had JUST finished cleaning the gutters and were dirty, tired and starving. After jumping in the car someone suggested hamburgers and we went straight to Ma. Juicy Lucy’s. it wasn’t busy(Sunday around 4pm) so the to go order took maybe 10 minutes. We got the Mid-City, All American and Kenner(add bacon). The Kenner was delicious — stuffed with pepper jack cheese and jalapeños, this was a spicy delight. We added cheese fries and two orders of regular fries to split and the order came to $ 39. It was a bit pricey for an impromptu meal but I would dine in or get a to go order from here again.

Well, we were excited about trying this place out having heard good things about the Juicy Lucy’s in Mid City. MISTAKE. Other than the good service, this place was a complete waste of time and money. All 3 of our burgers were waayyyyyyyy overcooked. I ordered the burger stuffed with grilled mushrooms & onions and blue cheese. I barely tasted any of those things because the burger was cooked into oblivion. The menu says that the cheese melts out of the burger. Not this time. I honestly barely even tasted the cheese because the cook destroyed any hope of this burger having an ounce of flavor. As a last resort, I drowned each bite in ketchup hoping to make it edible. No such luck. Eating my burger was like swallowing sand paper. I’m usually the type of diner who has no problem sending back bad food but this time I didn’t waste my time. If all 3 of our burgers were cooked this way, then there’s no hope for the cook. Well at least the Abita Amber tasted good.

If you were 2 see me, you’d know I’m a burger man, you name it, I’ve been there, used to be a grill chef. First off the staff was tops, very friendly and humorous, had a great time! Wish they’d use zing zang for their Bloody’s, but I improvised & had a margarita! It was good. I was figuring the burger was gonna be huge, instead it was thick & juicy, it had great taste was very fulfilling, didn’t get messy until the last bite or so, that says a lot about the bun. the fries were also as good, shoestring almost like Café Degas, they should have more variety of fries. I’d love some steak fries w/that burger, Overall it was a great place to dine! It was what I consider a «mom & pop» type place!!! And that’s fine w/me

Just flat out great! We have been there twice, and both times I left with a smile on my face and a wanting of a larger stomach to pack more food in. Onion rings rock and the fries have that wonderful CRISP to them. At your very first visit your first reaction might be that the prices are a dollar or so over, but after your first glance, but more importantly your first bite… no question, soooo worth it. The burgers are great, always cooked the way that we asked just so happy with both of our visits. The only real negative that I could say is «SERVEDR. PEPPER!» But that won’t keep us from coming back! Thanks for a great meal!

I thought it was delicious. Had the bleu cheese+bacon burger with sweet potato fries(as I recall). No complaints. They were having a draft beer special, which was nice. Manager/owner was friendly — he practically waited on us the entire time, and the waitress only brought out our food. Great place to take your kids!

Can’t say I was terribly impressed. I wouldn’t even consider this in the same category as Company Burger. The bacon was overpowering and distracted from the taste of a rather bland burger. The juicy fries, were however, very tasty. Overall it was, meh. Keep moving, nothing to see here.

A VERY unique burger. I’ve been here several times and the food quality is the same every time. I’ve ordered the bbq burger and the pizza-burger. The pizza burger is not as good as Mugshot’s, but it was good in it’s own right. My only complaints are: 1. The french fry portion is too small. I know the burger is huge, but the shoestring fries are too small to begin with. The portion could be bigger or the fries could be bigger. 2. The sweet tea was unbearable. I’m not a huge beer drinker and prefer sweet tea. 3. Parking is VERY tricky! It’s at the end of the business center up against the fence between them and Jimmy John’s. The dumpster is also along the fence in front of them. I won’t take a star off for that, but it’s hard to get a parking spot. On a couple of occasions I’ve had to just move on to another establishment.

This is the sister location to the original on Carrollton in the city. Whereas that one has video poker machines and doesn’t allow minors inside, this one is family friendly with no such restrictions. The premise is exactly the same — they make hamburgers that are stuffed with ingredients of your choice. Bacon, cheese, mushrooms, onions, etc. A few predetermined combinations are on the menu(like the juicy mid-city with sharp cheddar and applewood smoked bacon or the juicy Kenner with jalapeños and pepper jack). There’s also a daily burger special which is always different and generally a bit more ridiculous than the standard stuffed burgers. I went in one day and the special was stuffed with ranch AND buffalo sauce, mac’n’cheese, and bacon. I will neither confirm not deny if I consumed said burger. I will say that I left the restaurant that day very full and in serious need of a nap. They’re open pretty late by Metairie standards(midnight) so this is a good option for late-night eats.

So I did go back, and now I’m firmly convinced to not do it again. I walked into the restaurant with an angry customer storming out and calling back, «Not a good first impression!» to the staff. As I settled into my chair, 3 – 5 staffers stood around a table near me and openly/loudly complained about the events that had just happened. I debated sticking around and, to my disappointment, decided to stay. I ordered the alligator stix that, despite only being about ½″ thick, were still slightly cold on the inside. I then got my burger, and it was cooked well done PLUS. The insides were cooked and warm, but the bacon was soggy and limp. I took 2 bites, put it down, and didn’t go back. Again, the staff was super-duper friendly; they even went so far as to discount my bill and offer me a coupon for a free burger — all without my asking for it. I didn’t take the coupon, however. I know that I’ll never use it.

I heard some good things about Juicy Lucy’s, but I am going to have to differ with what I heard. I went to the Metairie location, the interior of the restaurant looks like it has been freshly painted and has gotten a recent face lift, but I just don’t like low ceilings in a place. It just gives me a feeling of claustrophobia or something. I feel like I am being forced to duck, and I am not that tall. Not to mention that it makes the acoustics in the room terribly loud, my friends and I were all yelling at each other over the other people in the restaurant, and so was everyone else so it was super duper loud. They also had the music on kind of loud so that didn’t help either. The service was very attentive however, so I’ll give it the two stars I did for that reason. There were about three different servers other than our main server who were walking around making sure everyone had what they needed. For my burger of choice I got the Juicy Lucy original. It oozed with American Cheese when I cut it in half, which I always do because I like to see how the meat is cooked in the middle. I really liked the way this thing looked, with all that cheese. I took one bite, I was so hungry so I wasn’t paying much attention to the flavor at first, then I took a couple more and had the urge to gulp down my iced tea. After I took my next bit I noticed that the meat was so darn salty, I was getting more and more dehydrated with each bite. I said out loud, «this is soooo salty,» and my friend was like«I know I can hardly eat any more,» and she had a non-stuffed cheese burger. I drank my whole drink so fast and I couldn’t quench my thirst. But not only was it too salty, but it wasn’t the meat that was juicy, it was the cheese on the inside that gave it any moisture. The meat was like it was dry and dehydrated also. It’s like they were putting some kind of salty flavor enhancer in it, mega MSG or something. I had the sweet potato fries and they were pretty tasty, but they were also pretty greasy, like they had been fried then re-fried. I don’t know, maybe they weren’t, but I could only eat half of my cheese burger and a handful of the fries before my stomach and dry throat was yelling at me to stop. I don’t see myself returning for a second visit to Juicy Lucy’s.

This is the first time I was able to get to Juicy Lucy’s and I must say after reading mixed reviews at the New Orleans location, I was skeptical about the Metairie location also. We got there right when they opened(11am) and was promptly greeted by our waitress, Renee, who was amazing and extremely helpful. She informed us on the special today, which was the Chalmette burger(stuffed with pepperoni, mozzarella cheese, and pizza sauce) and the alligator strings. I opted for the Juicy All American, which is served well done(just like all of their other stuffed burgers) and stuffed with Barbecue sauce, applewood smoked bacon, and sharp cheddar cheese with fries for my sides. My mom„ who is not a fan of cheese, opted for the regular non stuffed burger dressed with fries. The burgers tasted as though they were homemade and they were marvelous. VERYVERY filling. Overall we had an amazing experience and it was $ 25 well spent! I will be returning again. If you are ever in Metairie ask for Renee for your server. She’s the best. And make sure when you go, you are starving otherwise you won ‘t be able to finish it all!

Alligator Sausage on stick was very good. Burgers were juicy, hot and yummy. Love the different choices. Onion rings were the best we’ve had in a while. Fries also very good. Service was really outstanding and everyone was friendly. you may want to give them another try if it was crowded when they first opened… I typically avoid the mad rush at first… We had a great experience and plan to go back.

I had been anticipating this place’s opening as its right behind where I live and work and not to mention the thought of a stuffed burgers can always get you excited. So apparently it was opening night.(They still have the old Texas BBQ sign up but their Temporary Juicy Lucy’s is up on the building just for everyone’s information) it was hard to read the«We are Open» sign though. We came just to see if it was open and YAY to our surprise it was. I had the burger special of the night which was stuffed with swiss cheese, applewood smoked bacon and mushrooms. It was cooked perfectly and the swiss was a perfect match. The boyfriend had the Juicy 9th Ward Blues burger(stuffed with bleu cheese, muschrooms, onions and garlic) which was good as well, but we both were not a big fan of the bleu cheese. the price was pretty much the same all across the board for the burgers all around $ 10.65 each and they all come with fries or chips. The fries were really good as well We started the meal with the onion rings, which I have to say were the best onion rings I have had in New Orleans thus far. They were crispy and the the onions were cooked perfectly. I WILL be coming back Juicy Lucy’s to try all your awesome stuffed burgers and I will probably be addicted to the onion rings. The place is small inside, but the owner and staff are very friendly. They do have Draft beer and wine. I am happy they opened this location so I do not have to drive all the way downtown to have this burger experience. I forsee this place being here for a long time!!! Happy Eating!
