We ate there on Saturday before Valentines Day. Reservation through Open Table. Nice décor, tables a bit crowded. Our server, Javier, was excellent. Didn’t hover, but always there before we looked for him. Wife had a Wedge salad and Mac n Cheese, I had the whole Yellow Tail Snapper with a Caesar salad and roasted potatoes. All food was good, not great. Came out in timely fashion and was correct temp. The restaurant was nice, clean and staff very knowledgeable. Food adequate but not outstanding. Wife really enjoyed the Pineapple martini. But, for the prices, the food was not the best value. We already had our reservation when we discovered the closed off street of restaurants one block over. We would have tried one of the several open air option there had we known. Ok experience, but Grillfish didn’t make our«Return To» list. Be aware 18% gratuity added to check– finding this in many big city establishments

The Grill Fish one of the best local restaurant in great Miami. I have bin going there since 1998 and still the same great service, hospitality and magnificent foods. specially Lobster Fra diavolo over linguini pasta. Great Seafood and Steak place. Thank You Roy for the excellent service.

I had a great meal here — the mahi mahi — it was fantastic! We started with the mussels which were also very good. I like the décor of the restaurant: stone bars, menu on the wall, a lot of space and fairly quiet. A solid wine selection and perfect for a dinner date. I would definitely return.

It was my mission to come to Grillfish after I saw a cousin of mine post a meal from here after her recent visit to South Beach. I had as she the Shrimp Scampi with linguini and garlic sauce on it… simply amazing! Quite possibly the best meal I’ve ever had my 12 years of coming to Miami and its restaurants. Not to mention that it is a very nice décor, service was great and I didn’t rushed to finish my meal or leave but maybe that was because it wasn’t crowded at all in Grillfish on this specific Sunday. With that being said eventhough my travels to Miami are a little bit more gapped now, Grillfish is definitely a new go-to spot for every time I come down to South Beach.

I came here with 3 others for a business dinner. When I arrived here, 2 of my colleagues were already seated, and when I approached our table the hostess was chatting with them, already knew them by name and called me by name when I got near the table as well(they must have told her my name and explained that I was still on the way). Service on this night was very attentive, but while our waiter was knowledgeable about the menu and options that were available, he was a bit too«no nonsense» and a bit robotic on this night. He didn’t respond at all when joked with, and I don’t believe I saw him smile once. That being said, he did make a few kind comments here and there, so he wasn’t completely without personality. We ordered 2 servings of ginger calamari over mixed greens to start, the warm loaf of bread with butter they offered was very good, we each ordered an entrée(I had the tuna steak which was very tasty and cooked perfectly, seared on the outside and bright pink inside. It came with choice of salad and I chose the ceasar which was also excellent), and we ordered the last slice of cheesecake brulee with butterscotch-caramel crust for the 4 of us to share for dessert. Heaven! Not the cheapest meal in the world, but considering the attentiveness of the staff, the menu and food quality, I’d say it was well worth it!

I used to always hear about Grillfish and how I had to try it. I finally did, and I loved it! I ordered the shrimp scampi appetizer with cream sauce which was perfectly grilled. For an entrée I ordered the special which was the lobster piccata with angel hair pasta. It was amazing. It had a great lemon and capers taste, as a piccata sauce should. And everything was fresh. For a drink, they have fresh pineapple that they soak in vodka and make whatever vodka drink your like. It was very tasty as well. Definitely will be back, and the service was great as well. It’s family owned for over 15 years and it made it a homely feeling to have the whole family there to greet you. The waiter we had was also very attentive.

One word… cold! Everything was cold. So cold we felt so bad we didn’t want to complain anymore. I won’t be back. Simply said. My friend was just given the corn with his mahi mahi… When he disproved they gave him roasted potatoes. Typical of south beach. Once again I’m disappointed.

Came with some friends to Miami beach for a weekend of skating and fun, and we went to this place for lunch. The server was extremely courteous and explained the various dishes well. They had a variety of seafood dishes, and I ended up ordering the shrimp piccata. The entire dish was well prepared, especially the sauce which was the highlight of the dish. Overall, highly recommended.

Der Kellner der uns im vergangenen Jahr bei jeden besuch bedient hatte, hat uns sofort wieder erkannt und gleich sehr freundlich in empfang genommen. Der Service, die Freundlichkeit sowie das Essen sind absolute Spitzenklasse wir fanden sogar das sich das Restaurant nocheinmal in allen punkten steigern konnte. Food was excellent, and the server was top notch. I would give it five stars but the drinks were too strong. I like a strong drink, but I also like to taste the other parts of the drink. I had the swordfish which was excellent. Every part of the meal was great. I would highly recommend this restaurant, but get a drink that doesn’t require mixing.

Dinnertime in South Beach. Where does someone in town for one night only go who wants seafood? Well, I ended up at Grillfish and was quite happy that I did. The daily fish specials are written on several boards hanging from above. The tuna caught my eye whereas my dining companions settled on the Mahi Mahi, Red Snapper and the Grouper. One of the people in my group, an avid fisherman, questioned about the type of grouper, which seemed to stump our waiter. He left and came back with the answer though, so someone there knew something about the fish. You would have thought it would have been the person selling it. The fish was outstanding, but the service was a little off for me and the sole reason for the three-star review(two star service, four star food). We asked to switch out some of the sides or change up the salads — perfectly willing to pay an upcharge — and were told no and«that isn’t what comes with that». My dish came with roasted potatoes which were good, but the highlight of my meal was hands down the tuna. This is a place I”ll keep in my MIA bookmarks because the food was delicious. I just hope I get a different server next time.

We were greeted with a smile by an older gentleman who served as host and appeared as an owner. There were only one or two tables empty when we entered at about 7:30 on Saturday — hard to tell if being seated immediately was a good or bad sign, but it turned out to be lucky. His«happy to see you» look and immediate seating earned them the first of many well deserved stars that evening. Our waiter immediately visited the table, told us of a few special drinks and responded positively to our request for water with, «may I bring you a lime to have with the water?» Would have earned an immediate second star except there are not enough to award for all the positive experiences we had that evening. After a few quiet minutes, trips to the clean neat rest room to wash off the day’s traveling dust, and we ordered. We split a generous portion of grilled shrimp scampi is a creamy, highly flavored, not really spicy sauce. Four good size shrimp cooked to have the flavor all the way to the tail, earned them the second star of the evening. Served with fresh, warm bread by a waiter who mentioned that we should dip the bread in the sauce to enjoy every succulent flavor. Had only we had known, we would have had two portions of shrimp scampi and called it dinner. But, it gets better. I love clam chowder and while it isn’t my partner’s favorite, I had a very generous portion of light cream style chowder with lots of clams, a generous flavor from vegetables, and a light potato thickening to balance the cream. The smell alone earned them their third star of the evening. I’m now faced with the problem of ordering two shrimp dishes or two chowder servings for my next trip. We split the main dish, a larger than normal portion of red snapper served with a sweet onion dressing. Please don’t miss the sweet onion sauce, it was a unique flavor that exactly complemented the snapper, earning them their forth star of the evening and urging us to eat beyond our normal portions and finish every crumb. Served with a side of cream spinach at a slight up-charge to replace the potatoes, the snapper was wonderful beyond words. Some unique parts of the evening that earned them their fifth star. Wait staff in Miami Beach don’t raise expectations of efficiency, politeness, or even competency. From the very beginning, our waiter was exceptional. He served our water with limes and somehow avoided the usual«you are really cheap» stair when we ordered water rather than wine. He continued to excel when he placed the delicious grilled shrimp scampi in between us and placed two small plates in front for serving the shrimp. When, part way through the dinner, I dropped a small piece of fish on my napkin, he seemed to come from nowhere and replace the napkin. The fifth star was earned when the bus person removed the flatware used with each dish and replaced it with clean knives and forks. Nice touch. More than just a meal, a five star establishment should be a positive experience where you feel well treated, well served, and well nourished. Grillfish is all of that. Lovely place, good location, properly quiet, and nice staff.
