The ambiance was amazing. Ask not to be seated at the outdoor high tops. The stools are extremely uncomfortable. It took about 15 minutes for someone to finally serve us, but the food was well worth the wait. Ask for everything up front, they don’t come around much. Everything on the breakfast menu was great. Make sure to order a side of roasted potatoes or the biscuits.

I’m only rating this place based on their dessert. Inside the ambiance us more New York than Miami. It’s trendy with muted lighting. You can get a cake sampler which I recommend. Their chocolate cake is fabulous. But, if you start getting complicated ones like raspberry with other flavors the cake becomes a bit too rich and loses something.

I moved away from Miami Beach but wanted to send my friend in South Florida their Coconut Cream Cake. First of all, if you haven’t tried this amazing dessert, you’re missing out. But secondly, I can’t thank the manager Debbie enough for the personal touch and kindness she showed when I was ordering. Been a long-time patron of Icebox and can’t wait to go back next time I’m in town.

My husband and I stumbled upon Ice Box and man, were we pleasantly surprised! We sat at the bar to get the full experience and the bartenders Latisha and Diego were on point! We started with the Bloody Mary, which was one of the best mixes I’ve had so far. Don’t forget to ask for it with bacon! They made the experience so fun and just for them alone I’d find my way back! So for the food, we were blown away! I had the guava filled French toast and the husband had the biscuits and gravy. Both were delicious! Special shout out to Chance for hooking us up with some extra bacon! We will definitely be back!

I tell you that this was a pleasant surprise, the atmosphere was great the«alchemist» did his thing in a superior manner while Nicole our server kept our drinks coming. Nicole was very informative and her suggestions were excellent. A very pleasant experience my short ribs were juicy, soft and tender while my guests hailed excellence about the wasabi salmon.

Great food! Solid and light. Parking is a nightmare unless you go to the garage the next street over, and the service is not the greatest. they may tell you to wait 20 mins and an hour later you don’t have a table… however the Shrimp & grits are out of this world.

We had a fantastic brunch here after bootcamp at Barry’s next door. It’s a really gorgeously outfitted brunch spot(see pics), with a terrific menu. You can be a fatty or be totally healthy, they have every option, hehe. I liked the look of what everyone got — big breakfasts with buttery biscuits, chicken curry… I personally had an avocado chicken salad and it was PERFECT for what I wanted to eat. Delicious. I also had one of the only decent lattes here that I had in America, haha! And our waiter was great.

Been there a few times with my fam for some brunch. Great location, perfect for some people watching. Friendly staff, a bit off the beaten path for me… but always good.

Expensive. Bland. Unfriendly. I love eating vegetables, lettuce, fruits, etc. If it grows, I’m literally all over that. What I dislike is restaurants that throw lettuce on a plate, coat it with some seeds, and dressing and call that a meal. The décor was pretty interesting. It had a lot of white wood and blue tones. Loved the open kitchen format, makes you feel more part of the culinary, which I always find very cool. Lot’s of different styles of seating(high tables, bar seating, couches, etc.) and it was packed! We could not find a table so we took a seat at the bar, which was fun. My father ordered a bloody mary, which I will give it to them was PHENOMENAL. Next, we all ordered the avocado and seed salad(my friend and father ordered with wild salmon and I ordered with tofu). The salads came out and were exactly as I described: uninteresting and lacking in flavor. The salad had avocado, seeds, lettuce mix, and grilled tofu. The tofu tasted like a legitimate sponge. It was squishy and had no flavor. Don’t serve something if you’re not even going to try. The only thing filling about the salad was the avocado and other than that I was pretty much strictly eating lettuce. The price: $ 20 for my salad and $ 26 for my father’s and friends. Almost $ 70 for three pretty awful salads. The staff(besides the hostess) sucked. The two women at the bar literally hated us with their eyes, which made for a hilariously uncomfortable eating experience because you’re forced to constantly interact with them at the bar. Again, I love this kind of food so I will come back because I’m hoping it was brunch and I ordered the wrong thing from the menu. However, beware your wallets!

Sunday brunch was fantastic. If you like pancakes they have the best lemon ricotta pancake you will ever have and their guava French toast is also a must try. Light and fluffy egg white frittata with potatoes and salad was excellent as well. Décor is nice and modern, great ambiance and the service was very good. There was a 15 minute wait for a table. This place is popular for Sunday brunch and is definitely worth the wait. Parking is scarce but if you park on Lincoln road in the public parking garage and walk 10 minutes then you can walk off some of the pounds that you will gain from all the fabulous food you just had :)) plus enjoy the stroll through the antique market on Lincoln road.

While the décor is nice their food is fair and the service was terrible. They had a restaurant meeting in the middle of dinner service. Our waitress never checked on us and our meals came out at different times. We waited so long for water and drinks someone from our group had to go the the bar to order. Will not go back.

I haven’t been to Icebox since they moved to the new location. I live in Broward so I don’t find myself on South Beach often. When a friend called to say he was here for Art Basel and wanted to meet up for breakfast I knew I had to get back to Icebox. Everyone enjoyed their meal. My husband had the Eggs Benedict and I really enjoyed the lemon ricotta pancake. Of course I could not finish it! It was definitely a different take on the traditional pancake. On the recomemndation of our server, I also had the house drink which was an Arnold Palmer kind of cocktail. It was quite good. Two thumbs up for the Icebox!

I come here pretty often and it never fails to be nothing short of incredible. After a horrible experience at morenos(see my last review), we headed to icebox. So as shocking as it is I’ve never had dessert here. I’ve only come for brunch and every time the food is incredible and the service impeccable. I’m also always too full from the massive portion sizes to get to dessert. I highly recommend the shrimp and grits, the egg box, and the turkey scramble. Their beverages are always well made and delicious as well.

I only give this a four in regards to its dessert and the fact that I haven’t tried the food and all the sweetness i wanted to try here. There’s no need to list the positives and negatives as I just was in here for a quick Togo dessert pickup — A++: carrot cake. Moist, rich, dense but fluffy(can’t explain it) with the frosting not overdoused but creamy with the perfect hint of sweetness — A+: almond pistachio cake. I loved this and you would too if you’re a pistachio fan. I understand many aren’t. The texture is nice, a hint of sweetness, a hint of nuts, and not overpowering. It’s a very lite cake. — A+: coconut cake: just really good. Also a lite cake Definitely will come back for more !

Had a nice time at the Box! I had a churrasco and I had the most amazing guava French toast ever! Only disappointment was the rice that came with my husbands curry chicken which was hard. Chicken was kind of dry. Over all loved the dessert and will return!

Breakfast stops at noon?!? What is this? Communist Ukraine or Iceland? On another note, the pancakes were great(I think). But seriously, I want to eat an omelette. I hear they are excellent.

I was visiting some friends in Miami, and we stopped by Icebox Café for some dessert after eating lunch elsewhere. They have a large selection of cakes to choose from, and we went with the 5-slices special. While they were all decent, none of them stood out. More importantly, the service wasn’t very good. Our server was slow to take our orders, and never checked on us. In fact, she went on break shortly after our food was delivered, and we had to get up and ask for our check after waiting around for about 15 minutes.

Best French Toast in Miami by far ! Good décor, good ambiance! Kudos to Diego for a great service! Every dish was wonderful! The only thing was the challah bun wasn’t fresh! But overall awesome!!!

3.5 stars but rounding up since the staff here were all really nice and friendly. I’d been regretting my decision not to purchase a slice of cake from the Icebox location in the Miami airport, especially since they have one of Oprah’s favorite cakes(although that was from like, 2002). Despite the so-so reviews for this location, my friends and I decided to stop by and sample the cake. The restaurant was almost completely packed when we got there around 12:30pm on a Saturday, but we got to go to the Cake Counter at the back of the restaurant to order, and there was no line there. We ended up getting the 3 Cake Sampler(Chocolate Delight [Two Layers of Chocolate Cake Filled w/Bittersweet Chocolate Mousse, Layer of Cheesecake Brownie, Topped w/Bittersweet Chocolate Ganache], Coconut Buttercream [Yellow Cake w/Coconut Syrup, Coconut Buttercream, White Coconut Flakes], Almond Pistachio [Yellow Cake, Almond Syrup, Pastry Cream, Whipped Cream, Chopped Pistachios], $ 16, ) which came with pretty good sized slices– it was difficult for the 4 of us to finish this, although we did just have brunch before this. My favorite was the same as Oprah’s favorite– the Chocolate Delight with layers of chocolate cake and cheesecake. This was definitely a decadent and very sweet dessert, but also addictive– it was difficult to stop eating it. The coconut buttercream and almond pistachio were also good, but I would probably try other cakes over ordering these again. The staff was really sweet about us sitting outside at one of the empty tables and using their forks and linen napkins. I plan to come back to get another slice of the Chocolate Delight, and to try their other cakes. Parking is pretty difficult but there is a lot you can pay to park at across the street, and another paid lot further down the street(closer to the water area).

Loved this place and will definitely be back when in Miami! Mark is a great server who was on top of everything. We started off with the homemade dumplings with kimchee sauce which was delicious! & I ordered the wasabi crusted salmon that came on a bed of pad thai style quinoa that was probably the best salmon dish I’ve had! My boyfriend had the meatloaf which he LOVED! & for dessert… the whole reason we were there…(because Oprah said ice box had the best cakes ever) we went a little crazy and ordered FIVE half slices of –Dulce Leche(Ok) –Da Bomb(Average chocolate cake) –Carrot Cake(Delicious) –German Chocolate(Delicious) –Key Lime(Yummy… Not too tart) Overall if you are in Miami… stop by! ^_^ Thanks Mark!

Ya ever have a sweet tooth and decide to run down the street to see if you can grab a slice of pie or cake to go at a local restaurant… quickly? Well the quickly part was far from a reality at Ice Box Café. While the Key Lime Pie and Chocolate Cake were delicious, how much time does it take to cut a slice of each from prepared pies and cakes beautifully displayed on the back shelf. Just cut it, box it up and charge me… somebody…anybody…just cut the damn cake! The hostess and waitress were very sweet explaining that there was a party who the guy in the«cake area» was readying a bday cake for and assured us that it would just be a few more minutes. We waited at least 25 minutes for these desserts and had it not been for the kindness of the staff and our intense desire for dessert we would’ve surely left. Not sure if they regularly serve desserts to go, but if they do service should be much quicker than it was. Again, the desserts were great and worth recommending. We will try it again during a different time of day to see if service is better.

Having dined here several times now for both lunch and dinner, I’d say this is a solid choice for a relatively healthy and always fresh meal. The gado gado is my personal favorite, served with delicious grilled eggplant, wilted kale, fresh tomatoes, cucumbers, boiled egg, bean sprouts and of course that tasty peanut sauce. Add grilled salmon if you want a protein and omega boost. Other favs are the short ribs… omg they are so yummy, the grilled salmon in general, and their curry chicken. Although I did not see a kids’ menu, I asked for a simple grilled cheese. They were happy to accommodate. I’m not judging… but fyi expect to spend $ 12 for that grilled cheese with chips. They do need to fix their salt shakers… rice would help. On every occasion, I’ve had to disassemble the shaker(yes, raw tomatoes always need a pinch of salt in my book), and it spoils the experience.

We went to this place on a recommendation from our Über driver and boy, was he spot on. Always trust the locals. We got the St. Louis style ribs with a tamarind glaze and the wild mushroom flatbread for entrees. The flatbread was so so. It just tasted a little too… healthy. There was a ton of arugala piled on and while I love arugala, it was all I could really taste. If they had piled on an equal amount of mushrooms, that would be been better, but the mushrooms were bland and rubbery to begin with. Also, the flatbread itself was hard and overcooked. I guess what I’m saying is… skip this flatbread. The ribs on the other hand were a different story. We got them with a side of brussels sprouts which were cooked to perfection. They went great with the glaze. I loved the tamarind flavor; it added just the right amount of tang to the sauce and wasn’t overly sweet. The ribs themselves were a little too overcooked. I’m used to my meat falling off the bone and these were chewy. The star of this dish though… was the kimchi. I don’t know what it was about this kimchi, but it really was the best I’ve ever had, like wow. It was also the perfect compliment to the glaze. Last, but not least, was the bread pudding. This. was. AMAZING. If you only go for one thing, go for the bread pudding. It was extremely moist, heavy on the pecans just the way I like. I could have almost done without the chocolate, it was so good, but hey, who can say no to chocolate. It was definitely the best part of the meal. The interior is very trendy and I could definitely see this as a great place to hang out and have some desserts for a girl’s night out. Unfortunately, the service was very mediocre. Our waitress kept chatting with the hostess and we couldn’t get her attention ever. It took forever to get anything done. I would definitely come back for the food, but maybe take it to go.
