Had escargot as an appetizer swimming in garlicky goodness. Had to sop all that up with the crusty bread. :) Crispy duck a l’orange was quite good. Came with tasty roasted potatoes. Dessert was chocolate torte. Good, not great. They were out of the Malbec we ordered as well as one of the fish dishes. Wouldn’t mind dining here again.

One of my favorite spots ever! Awesome place very French and very authentic without any frills. The food is amazing, the escargot is better than any you’d eat in France. It’s a very relaxed atmosphere where you can sit back, sip your wine, and enjoy a great meal. I highly recommend it which is why I keep going back time and time again. You won’t be disappointed.

This place has been on the ‘to-try’ list for quite some time, and Friday night we decided to try it for our Valentine’s Day dinner with good friends. While I’m not a fan of a packed restaurant, I’m also leery of an empty one. Lemon Twist seemed to center itself right. Inviting atmosphere… A small crowd initially, and it picked up from 9PM on. The bar looked comforting too, and I wouldn’t mind going back there to sit and enjoy a few there next time. Sylvain was our waiter. VERY friendly, and he assisted in helping us with the menu, since EVERYTHING sounded good. For appetizers, we got escargot, grilled octupus, mussels, and smoked salmon. It was all de-LISH ! For entrees, we all opted for the fish specials, with one lone crispy duck dish(which looked wonderful BTW).The whole fish(the name escapes me now) was stuffed and seasoned, and then flileted tableside. The parchment paper sea bass was a smaller portion I must say, but seasoned perfectly with thyme, rosemary, and olive oil… in a broth that was outstanding. I need to add this parchment paper preparation to MY cooking ! Good selection of wines as well, from which we certainly imbibed. :) We finished with meringue and custard dessert, black current and raspberry sorbet, a tort, and some cappuccinos. I will say the food was great, but it was slightly on the high($) side; I still felt it was worth it. And don’t be in a rush to eat; they certainly allow you to take your time and enjoy. Great little bistro, definately in the french vein. Tres bien!

A friend of mine had a Groupon for this place and treated me and two other friends to dinner. The environment was very nice and the bar was fully stocked, they carried Jim Beam’s Knobs Creek bourbon so I was happy. The price of the plates were ridiculously high and didn’t reflect the quality of the food. I had chicken and the meat was tough, also the size of chicken portion seemed like five strips of chicken tenders from BK. For the price I expected something magical, instead the food was below average. The mash potatoes were ehh. We also had French Onion Soup. Although it was good, it wasn’t something you couldn’t find at another restaurant(French or not). The service was awful and it is the number one reason why I am never going back. The waitress did not bring us any bread, we had to catch her and ask for it. She also did not refill our glasses with water when we were sitting patiently for 20 minutes wondering were she was. I also don’t remember her ever coming past us and asking if everything was ok. When we finished we asked for the check that never came. We waited over 30 minutes for it and nothing. It got to the point where I got up and walked into the kitchen to find someone that could help us. When the check finally came in, they forgot to apply the Groupon discount. My friend had to get up and walk over to the bartender to fix the problem. Then when we pay, we are short like $ 2 which cuts into the waitress’ tip. She actually had the nerve to tell us we had to tip her the full 18% for the service. When we asked if we can just pay the 15% she said no, we had to pay the full 18%. We were tired of the place and just wanted to leave. So we gave her the two or three bucks and left. It was ridicules. I don’t recommend this bistro to anyone and I am sure never going to revisit this place again. A negative review will also be left at Groupon which is going to hurt them if they ever want to use Groupon again.

Um, yeah. I mean no. As in, «I’m never coming back here again.» It’s a shame, too, ’cause I’d been here once before with my girlfriend and had been looking forward to coming back. My girlfriend was out to dinner here with her mom and her mom’s friend, and she texted me telling me to meet them for dessert. Sounded great, and I was there in 15 minutes or so. Their DINNER still hadn’t arrived, and they’d ordered more than an hour before I got there. About three minutes after I sat down, my girlfriend got up to check on the status of their order and hey – here it came with the waiter. She told him they’d been thinking about canceling it, and he goes, «so cancel it». As he put my girlfriend’s mom’s plate in front of her, she said they’d been thinking about going home. «So go home» he says. Unbelievable! Who is this guy? Go back to France, garçon!

Overall this place was good. I had the grilled octupus app which was decent… Then the mussels which where also good. Not wow, just good. What makes this place great is the vibe. They have a nice old bar, and the service is great. Dinner for 2 was 80 without tip, but we did have a bottle of wine. Still not cheap. The place had a good crowd. Not empty, not packed. I think it’s a good date place. I liked it. I would go back. I

This place is kind of pricey for some pretty average french food. However, the atmosphere and service is nice. Also, there is an excellent gift certificate for this place which makes it worth while!

Stopped by tonight for a snack and wound up having a great meal! Mussels with a wine sauce and French Fries(real french fries) were amazing. The service was great and it was expensive. it was like a mini 1 hr trip to Paris!!!

Disappointed. Frustrated. Mediocre. These are the first three words that come to mind when I think about the dining experience I just had at Lemon Twist. My Mother-in-Law is in town from Brazil so I was looking for a local place that would impress her. From the outside the restaurant looks chic and fresh, but there were a bunch of people sitting outside at tables smoking cigarettes. We walked through the cloud of smoke and opened the doors to find that the restaurant was completely empty at 8 p.m. on a Friday night. This should have tipped me off right away. Suddenly the wait staff, bartender and chef followed us into the restaurant. They were the same people smoking at the tables outside the restaurant. One of them came to greet us and I playfully inquired why the restaurant was so empty. The man flashed me a less than amused look and proceeded to seat us without an answer. He immediately walked up to the bar, grabbed a baguette, began slicing it and tossed it into a basket for our table. While he was cutting up our bread, he spread some butter on a piece and tossed it in his mouth right in front of us. As if that was not bad enough, the other wait staff and bartender came over and joined in with the slicing, buttering and munching on this community baguette. Maybe I’m being overly picky — but this just doesn’t seem like something professionals would do in front of clientele. For an appetizer I ordered the french onion soup — one of my all time favorites. It was not horrible, but did not impress either. I’ve had better French onion soup at places that are not even remotely French. My husband ordered the tuna tartar, which was more pink grapefruit than tuna. For the entrée, I ordered a Rosemary Chicken with mixed greens and fries. My Husband and Mother-in-Law ordered the rib-eye steak which came with, you guessed it, french fries. My chicken was bland and void of any moisture whatsoever. The mixed greens were literally greens tossed with mayonnaise and vinegar. My husband and Mother-in-Law liked the steaks, but both agreed that they were nothing to brag about. For me, the french fries saved the entire meal. They were crispy, salty and addictive, just what you would expect from the common fast food fry. Aside from the food, the décor was actually very nice, but nothing about the ambiance said that it was a French place. A bored female bartender stood behind the bar chewing at her nails, pulled out a nail file and manicure tool and started cleaning under her nails right in front of us. This went on for most of the 1.5 hours that we were in the restaurant. We then flagged down our waiter and asked for the check two times before we actually received it. All the while, our dishes were never cleared and the wine/water were never refilled. I would totally understand the less than adequate service had they been busy, but a total of 3 more tables showed up while we were there. I wonder what happens on a really busy night? After a long, tough week at work, I was really looking forward to trying this restaurant and having an amazing meal while supporting the local businesses in my neighborhood. Unfortunately I left feeling annoyed and disappointed that I just spent $ 110 on a completely mediocre experience. Needless to say, I will not be going back to Lemon Twist anytime soon.

I went here last night with a friend and had a great dinner. We got there pretty early and were the only table so opted for outside. our server was great and had a cute French accent which always adds to the experience. We had the Mussles with Fries and a side salad. Loved it all. We also had a Lemon tart for dessert that was great. With wine it came to $ 80 which is pretty good for everything we got. it reminds me a lot of Les Halles in the Gables but much cuter inside. By the time we left the place it had gotten busier which was nice to see. I can definitely see having a glass of wine and something small at the bar, everyone who worked there seemed really fun. Not sure I’d drive up to North Miami Beach just for this but if i am in the neighborhood its a great place!

Just a divine little treat of a place, for those not familiar with North Shore — off-the-beaten-path; for those of you who live in the area and know it well — a jewel in our culinary crown. Delicious Entrecôte, divine tart desserts, wine list COULD use some additions and extensions, but perhaps with time.
