I am very disappointed with my experience today at Taco Rico. I have been a loyal customer for years and frequent this location often. Today I walked in with my husband and 2 kids, the restaurant was empty, I ordered what I usually get which are the fish tacos de la casa and a couple of cheese and beef kids quesadilla meals. We were not given the usual chips they give you while you wait. I had to go ask for some. So slowly other customers started trickling in and I started to notice that everyone was getting their food, after seeing a gentleman that came in 10 minutes after us get his steak and chicken fajitas I decided to ask the waitress what was going on with our order, the kids were very hungry and getting very impatient, at this point 20 minutes had already gone by. She said she was going to go check, I noticed they started scrambling in the kitchen which leads me to believe that they completely forgot to make our order, 5 minutes later she walks out with just the kids orders. We continue to wait for our tacos she gave us the excuse that fish takes very long to cook(obviously fish cooks a lot quicker than chicken and steak and the guy had received fajitas in 10 minutes) if we wouldn’t have been with the kids I would’ve canceled the order and asked for a refund. So finally 10 minutes later our fish tacos come out, a total of 35 minutes for our order which was made when the restaurant was empty. So finally I’m ready to eat and I realize that they made the most horrible tacos I’ve ever had there, instead of putting the cabbage slaw the tacos should have had they just dumped dry purple cabbage in the taco, the fish was dry and overcooked, they did not put any cilantro or limes on the plate like they normally do. After today’s experience I will no longer be going to this establishment. There was a complete lack of customer service and quality today.

I had a bad encounter with a portion size, but wow did they make it up. I haven’t come across a restaurant in a long time that takes criticism in a positive way. They really turned around my experience and the way I feel toward the restaurant. The meal I received today(shrimp salad) was phenomenal. The food is great, but the service and the way they handled my complaint was exceptional. They are doing something right. The girl who took my order today and tomorrow(sorry I didn’t catch the name) is so professional and even followed up with me after I got my order, You have a happy customer again! THanks!!!

Love this place. I always order. They have never given me problems. They deliver timely. Are very friendly. And food is always fresh made and delicious. You get what you ask for every time around. Have absolutely no cons. Their jalapeño poppers are amazing. My favorite. Give them a try. No dissapointnents.

The food is great but that is the ONLYREASON they got a 3 because their beer ISNOTCOLD. Just offends me when people can’t do something as simple as have cold beer. I had to force the beer down which is not like me at all.

We went on a Sunday night during their«pro-football» promotion. Tacos(chicken, beef, or bean) were $ 0.99 each. They also had $ 1.99 drafts and 4 for $ 12 Coronas. We got 4 tacos and the pollo asado, which was a good size portion, all for $ 16. They provide free chips(with refills) and a salsa bar. The food was delicious and service was excellent! I would definitely come back to Taco Rico.

Simple Tex-Mex on SoBe Yummy queso and salsa bar. Fresh and Simple. Great chips and tortillas. Beans are more whole than refried which is yummy! Only downside is the rice. I’m very picky with my Mexican rice.

This place is great. I came in for lunch twice and have been satisfied. The food is fairly priced and they include generous portions. I believe most orders include chips and salsa. I had the taco and quesadilla meal the first day and the taco and burrito meal the second. Good options. The staff is also very friendly. I would definitely recommend. I’ll be back for sure.

I’ve been ordering from here for 3 years. Food is great and cheap for South Beach. Free chips with good selection of different salsas. My favorite is the«wet burrito» which is the basic burrito covered in a mole-type sauce. The pork soft tacos are always on point too. Online ordering is very quick.

Can’t recall if I have been here or not. Looked familiar, but maybe cause I’ve been to the pizza place next store numerous times 3−4am in the morning. Anyways, I liked it. I had the taquito platter as I love the ones at 7 – 11, so these sounded more«home made». They tasted great, but only bummer that the rice was under cooked. Oh, I thought the booth sizes were a little small as it was a little uncomfortable getting in and out for more water. Plus no real arm room.

This is definitely a gem in South Beach. If you want to eat where the locals go — this is hour place. The price is right, the portions are generous and the ambiance feels good. Not pretentious — this location is probably one of our favorite Taco Rico restaurants. The portions are so big that you can actually share. If you are like my Fiancé and love nacho chips, you will love the endless basket! Order iced cold beers with your meal and leave room for the FRIEDICE-CREAM for dessert. Yum. Yum.

Great place to seriously satisfy your Mexican food craving after a day at the beach or shopping… without spending a fortune. Order at the counter and they bring you the food. Portions are big and food tastes great. Chicken was flavorful and to us, was better than the steak. Plenty of seating as well.

Wow. Worst Mexican food ever. They used cocktail shrimp for the fajitas. Lol. Beans were old and tasteless. The rice was burned, cold and crusty. Fish tacos were mediocre — tasteless as in zero seasoning. $ 25 later I’m amazed at how bad this meal was. I could have fed a family of 4 for this at Taco Bell and sadly it would tasted the same if not better. This was so bad we just had to laugh. Place smells like a toilet. I think they use the same cleaning solution in the restaurant as they do the toilets.

I can eat! I am very fond of great authentic Mexican cuisine and this place delivers! I am by no means a big girl but I sure can eat like one! I have no shame ;) What was ordered: ~ La Mexicana Platter — 1 Quesadilla, 1 Chicken Soft Taco, 1 Chicken Enchilada served with Rice and Pinto Refried Beans ~ Chicken Burrito — Regular size They use tons of cheese on the quesadillas, very good in flavor and soft. You can’t really screw up quesadillas you’re thinking right, but you can! You can burn it or say not put enough cheese! The Soft Chicken Taco, was tasty and light. They used a flour tortilla which makes it light, very good but I would prefer mine in a corn tortilla. Both are delicious but big difference in taste and texture. The Chicken Enchilada was packed with flavor. So saucy, I might have licked the plate! Many places get the sauce right but forget to add a hint of salt to the chicken! Duh! Loved their refried beans! I’m a huge lover of beans and this place makes kick @$$ refried beans! Their yellow rice was also delicious. As if that wasn’t enough, I also ordered a regular sized Chicken Burrito. Boy did I need to be rolled out of there or what? Plenty of protein, cheese, rice, lettuce, tomatoes and sour cream. Yummmmm! Great portions, great prices and not to mention, service with a smile right on South Beach! :D Can’t wait to go back for more! Viva Mexico! ;) P. S. Hello to my stalker, RG! #GetALife!

Took a chance on the Enchilada Suizas… They were very good! Worth a visit, along with chips and a fresh salsa bar. Mexican Beer on tap. Great price, friendly service with eyesight of Lincoln Road!

My favorite place in SoBe. I remember once I came directly to this place after arriving, directly from airport, will luggage and stuff. Not because we was hungry, but also because we wanted to go to Taco Rico so much. It’s really nice family place, not expensive, like $ 20 for dinner for two. Maybe $ 20 if you want beer or sangria also. Definitely not touristy place, mostly locals hanging in here. Good spot to watch Heat game. Delicious tex-mex food, good mexican beer. And homemade sangria, you need to give it a try.

Read great reviews so my husband and I decided to give it a try while on vacation, when the bill came it was $ 37 I was a little confused seeing how we only got 2 dinners 1 drink and 1 water. When I asked the waitress she was very rude saying«well you didn’t ask for the lunch kind» when I asked what the difference was she said well there wasn’t we just needed to say«lunch» it still had 2 enchiladas with rice and beans, I explained to her that $ 20 for 2 enchiladas was absurd when it’s listed at $ 8.59 on the board that we pointed to, she just walked away no explanation no apologies no solution. Food was ok which is the only reason I gave them 2 stars. I’m posting a picture of the board listing the price as well as my receipt. Customer service was horrible.

Taco Rico will give you exactly what you want — as long as you know what it is you want. Taco Rico is Tex-Mex. It is by no means authentic Mexican food. Nor is it authentic cuban food — or cuban food at all. Its cheap, its fast, and its filling and it’ll get the job done if you’re just looking for a quick bite to eat between movies in SoBe. Yeah, I watched two movies in one day in Miami. The staff was friendly and the food was tasty and hot. Recommend.

3.5 As with most things in life, the star rating is relative. Also, it’s important to know, for the sake of this review, Taco Rico serves Tex-Mex, not Mexican. Keep your expectations in check. Now that that’s out of the way, if you live in South Beach and you’re hankering for some not-so-expensive, pretty-decent Tex-Mex grub delivered to your house, Taco Rico is what you’ve been looking for. I’ve never entered the establishment, so I can’t tell you anything about ambiance and the like. But, if you’re looking for cheapish, Tex-Mex in South Beach, I don’t think ambiance is a make or break for you. What matters from what I wrote about: cheapish. Pretty decent. Delivery. Concentrate on this. So, imagine you’re at a buddy’s house, working on all the things on a Friday and you realize that you haven’t eaten since breakfast. And, you have more work ahead/in front of you. What do you do? Stop thinking. You ordered a ridiculous amount of food for $ 10 delivery. I ordered a chicken burrito platter. For $ 10, you get a wet(lettuce, pico de gallo and cheese — hold the sour cream — red enchilada sauce and MOREMELTEDCHEESEONTOP) chicken burrito, chips, salsa, rice, beans, and a chimichanga. Stop it. For $ 10 and you don’t have to get off of your butt. On the Beach. You can’t beat it. You can’t.

This restaurant has been around for years, but we came here for the first time together since I had already giving it a try. It is right on Alton Road It is located in a small strip mall. Parking is a little cramped, but its expected due to its location. There are some tables inside and tables outside as well. The décor and look is a little run down looking, but that didn’t bother us. We placed our order at the counter. They have tacos, fajitas, burritos, enchiladas, etc. as well as a kids meal. I ordered the homemade tacos with chicken, which came with a side of refried beans. My wife ordered a chicken burrito, an enchilada and some chicken tacos. Yes! she can eat. I had the Feast which brought a wet burrito a chimichanga and that was served with a side of rice, beans and salad. They also give you some tortilla chips and you can pick your own salsa(from mild to hot). Overall the prices are good and the portions are big. The food is very tasty and highly enjoyable. Prices are not too bad considfering their large portions.

Looking for a quick bite to eat after a movie and not really feeling any of the Lincoln Road spots, most of which are tourist traps anyway, my friend and I had a craving for Mexican food. We noticed Rosa Mexicano at the corner, but neither of us wanted pricey Mexican food, so we were about to head to the car to drive to our usual cheapo Mexican food joint, Mr. Taco, on Collins Avenue, when we spotted Taco Rico, literally across from the parking garage. I won’t lie, the Unilocal reviews also influenced me to give it a try. I did not want anything too heavy, as I was not starving after eating so much popcorn, and I found a great salad on the menu to fit the bill. We sat outside to enjoy the cool front that had blown in and received our meals. In the meantime, we had been snacking on chips, I really liked the habanero sauce! My salad was great, it was light, despite the fact it is Mexican food. The chicken was flavorful and nicely cooked golden, great seasoning. My friend had some beef tacos and also enjoyed them, and best of all, the price was very reasonable, especially for South Beach. If I am in the Lincoln Road Mall area, I will definitely consider returning to Taco Rico. I just wish the construction would finish already, as I try to avoid Alton like the plague because of it.
