I organized a proposal party on behalf of my bff’s boyfriend here. I came across this place after a Google search for romantic restaurants in Miami. We went in to check out location, the soon to be groom felt it was just what he was looking for, especially after checking out garden area. We stayed for a tasting of both food and wine. The chef, Karen, was personable and amazing, the food was to die for, her attitude and involvement in helping us decide our prefix menu was outstanding. The manager Marco was very cordial & helpful throughout the actual night of event, he really communicated well with his staff and kitchen, it made for a magical night to have everything run so smoothly. They really went above and beyond to help us with our special event… everything turned out to be top notch! Our group completely took up the outside seating area. We hired a mariachi band to sing the couples favorite song — which we really appreciated the fact that Tosca helped us accommodate the band. The food was on point just as the night we had our tasting! Not a disappointed stomach in our group. The wine flowed to almost no end. The in house DJ was a nice added touch. Our party ended up shutting down the restaurant. I would absolutely recommend this establishment for special/private group events.

Don’t waste your time here, there are too many other restaurants in Miami worth visiting. I ended up here on a Bday dinner. Here’s the rundown: — Extremely small food portions(much smaller than your fine French cuisine restaurants). Forget about letting someone try off your plate, you will be left starving. — The food is extremely bland and almost tasteless. If you’re going to serve me a tapa sized entrée, at least make sure the flavors pop out at me so that even though my stomach’s not happy, my pallette is. Drinks are weak and the wine prices are outrageous! Their wine menu is the size of a book and there are only 3 bottles in the entire book that cost under $ 100! Service is very strange. When you finally find a server, they’re extremely courteous but the hard part is haunting them down. We had to invite ourselves to bread, as it was never offered. Also, the food took almost over an hour to be served. It was a very weird experience. I really don’t think this place will be around by next year. Don’t bother with this place. Try other restaurants! BTW this was a visit in Oct’2013. But I’m sure nothing has changed since.

Nice space, microscopic portions, high prices, super slow kitchen and very low energy. Food is far from extraordinary. You can do so much better in so many other places, don’t bother. They seated us on time but we came during the week in the off season so it wasn’t too crowded. BTW — notice how all these favorable reviews start out mentioning the«beautiful, romantic space» and how they are all so comprehensive talking about every aspect from bar to seating on time. Very suspicious.

Truth be told, I probably had the most fun I’ve had this year in a restaurant the night I visited Tosca. Lets start by the fact that it is beautiful, very romantic and has a great location(public parking right up front). It wasnt full when I got there, but there was a big birthday party and some tables. The service was impecable, the waiters would be around to get us water or any questions. The manager brought over free champagne to toast the night. About the food: the bread was delisious, the amus-bush was hot and spicy, just perfect to start, I had the meat tartar and it was good and the chicken which wasnt too special but was well done. I didnt love the desserts but they were well presented. to me why I give it 5 starts was more the music than anything. they had a live dj playing jazzy/50s music and thru-out the night changed into some other decades. perfect friday night with miami spice.

Horrible food. this place should be closed down. The only thing good about the place is the service but the chefs should get fired. First of all the food we ordered was horrible in taste. I feel like we should of just went to olive garden because olive garden tastes so much better than this place. and secondly the entrée is good enough for a 5 year old kid. the food sizes are sooo tiny. We didnt even order miami spice. we ordered out of the regular menu. I cant beleive this place is still in business because the entrée sizes are smaller than an appetizer size from a regular restaurant. Please do not go if you care about the food you eat. DONOTGO. I made a Unilocal account specially to complain about this restaurant

Don’t let the beautiful scenery fool you — this restaurant is completely overrated. We had read a bunch of glowing Unilocal reviews before going here a while back, and so we happily booked a table for 4 and showed up right on time, and were seated immediately by the very friendly front staff and the great bartender. The scenery is amazing, this is one of the prettiest restaurants I’ve ever been to. Sadly the magic ended right there. The waiter was visibly annoyed and rude when I suggested that we would put in an appetizer order first since one of our party members hadn’t decided yet. He walked away muttering something unintelligible, but likely not nice. The service was decent for the rest of the night, but definitely did not match the price. The food didn’t take too long, but everything we had was mediocre at best. How is it even possible to make foie gras or truffles that aren’t perfect? To top it all off, the prices are completely ridiculous for such mediocre food. I’m not afraid to drop a grand on dinner, but I’m not interested in paying a ton of money for mediocre food. If you want a great restaurant in Miami, go a few blocks down to The Bazaar in the SLS hotel, where you’ll have a great, mind-blowing meal. Don’t go here.

Let me just start by saying that i wanted to experience Tosca since i have heard good things and what better way to try it out that Miami Spice menu?. We were seated promptly and i was very pleased by the beautiful setting of this restaurant. The service was ok, friendly waiter but spotty service and they were not even busy at all. We wanted to order a bottle of wine, which is a wine we know, the prices are outrageous! We are talking 3 digits for bottles that are just decent bottles if you buy them at a wine shop. We however, were doing the Miami Spice menu, so we figured let’s try this to see if we want to come back. Beware: the portions are microscopic!!. I understand that is a fixed price menu but this was ridiculous! We do Miami Spice menus every year at many different restaurants and never have we ever experienced portions so tiny. They really have to step up their game for Miami Spice because otherwise they have lots of competition! I have to say though that the flavors were really good, food well prepared and good ingredients, but i wish we could have sampled at least a whole meal. Needless to say, we left hungry and went someplace else to grab another bite to eat. Was really disappointed as i was looking forward to coming back, but we won’t. The check was still $ 350, but that would be ok if you leave the place happy., not still hungry. Again, i realize it was the Miami Spice menu but that should be their opportunity to shine as lots of people take the Miami Spice months as an opportunity to try new restaurants. They are obviously caring more about the tourist and catering towards them, we the locals are not falling into that trap with all the other great choices out there. I honestly do not see this restaurant making it much longer with all the competition out there. To be fair, the place is beautiful and romantic. The garden setting is very nice, the decoration elegant and the ambiance great. But I have had better. And if i am going to leave a place hungry, it is not worth our time or $.

Although this place looks quite amaziing for dinner, I was just there for a drink while waiting for Mokai across the street to open. The service and the drinks were good but what left the most memorable impression was the actual ambiance and feel to this place. As tourists, we loved that this place had a little open vanity area which made for fun photos. If I had a more extensive trip, there is no doubt I would have been back for dinner!

Does this make sense? The experience was so good and so bad at the same time, everyone was so nice and listened to the desires and needs of the table, but the moment they walked away, they forgot about us. The food, minus the horrendous bread was very good but for an app, two plates and two wines at $ 120 you better step up! Ambiance one star, food one star, service one star, if your good at all three, you get 4 if you crush all three I give 5. The Good The decore and style of the restaurant are great, the food was very good but overpriced and the service was abismal. The decore and the atmosphere of the restaurant are surprisingly elegant, beyond my expectations. 23rd street between Collins and Park Ave has been in need of a revival and with the recent additions up and down the block this area is turing into a great off the beaten path, but still deep in the Miami scene place to enjoy a drink, meal and more drinks. The Tosca space fuses modern and classic(vintage 20’s and 30’s). The first thing you see when you walk in is the bar and next to it a projector showing black and white romance movies with subtitles. The hostess’ were both great and insist we see the entire restaurant, it is indeed worth seeing! To pass into the back area you pass an open kitchen and get to gawk at the fresh seafood available. Once outside you transition though low hanging trees with lights oversized benches and pillows(cozy), to the amazing rear where the restaurant sits. The patio seating is accented by the low trees, the light, and a giant up-lit blue gate on top of a water feature at the back of the property which all the tables are angled to see. The presentation for the bread was very unique, the salt and pepper, both large grind are served on a platter with little wheelbarrows and tiny spoons, I felt like a giant coal miner. Danny, the manager, was very talkative yet helpful and had lots of suggestions. Our waiter Marco was also very knowledgeable about the food list. The Bad Two trips to the front one for the bread then another for more olive oil and balsamic. Here is the problem, the service! Did I mention the service, come on now, there was hardly a sole in the place and the guest to staff ratio on 7÷17÷13(the day Miami had two flash flood warnings after three days of intense rain was 1:1. Miami has bad service, if your from anywhere else in the States you know what I mean, but this was bad for the price. The Bar First, one of the bartenders speaks so little English that he didn’t knew how to use the computer to check us out, so in order to cash out, we had to wait for the other bartender, who had to be reminded 2x!!! that I was still waiting for the check. At that point, I’m thinking, no place is perfect, everyone gets a mulligan. The Restaurant We sat down ordered and asked if bread was coming out, yes they said, wait, wait… wait, not even seeing the waiter, waiter assistant or manager, I walked up to the front, asked for the Manager who had stepped outside then said to the hostess we’re waiting for the bread. The bartender the hostess and probably some guy in the kitchen who’s ears were ringing jumped into action to finally bring us the bread. TOSCA, get better bread! dry, and crumbly. They also don’t leave the oil and balsamic at the table so after mopping up the good stuff we found ourselves looking for our waiter again.

We set out to try Tosca a couple of months ago on a stormy night. I was not sure what to expect given that part of the restaurant’s charm is it’s outdoor area. Pulled up to valet and the attendants immediately came by with huge umbrellas. Perfect! We checked in and got seated right away. Was I still in South Beach? It sure did not feel like it. The restaurant has a «vintage Hollywood meets Tuscany» feel. We sat inside because of the rain but still near the area that is open to the outside. This resulted in the most romantic seat in the house. We were seated comfortably inside with the AC but we were outside enough to see and hear the rain fall. What a view that was! Just dreamy. Since it was our first time, we chose to do the 11 course menu to try out the most items possible. My only gripe is that they do not allow outside wines. This forced us to order from their menu. We did not see any of our favorites on it but scored on several Jonatas for the night. The food was exquisite with top notch ingredients. The service was absolutely perfect. There was no SOBE attitude at all. The staff was all smiles, courteous and eager to please. The other diners kept to themselves and we were perhaps the rowdiest there.(Sorry! although it’s not the type of place where you have to whisper). The music was at just the right volume too. Had it been completely full, I am sure the noise level would have been at a 6 or 7(out of 10) This was our dinner: — Hot delicious rolls baked and served straight from the oven in it’s original container — Chilled Gazpacho– the perfect starter — House Caprese with Mozzarella di Bufala– vine ripe tomatoes and BLUE lobster medallion. It is a small portion but enough to know it’s darn good. — Sushi Grade Toro Crudo with Mediterranean Spices — Salumeria Board– Pata Negra, Speck, Bresaola, Lomo and Sopressata– I could have easily and happily kept eating this all night. — Fettuccine with Mascarpone Cheese topped with Fresh Black Perigord Truffle– This was all I needed and the main reason I will go back. It is the absolute best fettuccine I have ever had. They roll a cart table side where your pasta is being cooked. It then gets tossed into a giant parmesan wheel using a kitchen torch to melt the parmesan. Because that’s not enough they then add the mascarpone cheese. Once they serve your portion it gets topped with the truffle. It is cooked to perfection in front of you and truly delectable. — Dover Sole Meuniere and a Mixed Wild Mushroom Casserole– SO good. — Four Story Hill Farm Grilled Lamp Chop– perfect — Seared True Japanese Kobe Strip Loin– Grade A5, Marbling 9, Magoshima Farm, Japan and the silkiest mashed potatoes I have ever had. A true rare treat and of course, wonderful. — Chocolate Mousse with Vintage Gran Couva Chocolate and Crunchy Pearls– Good — Omelette Norvegienne: Layers of Almond Genoise, Vanilla Ice Cream, Orange, Meringue and Flambeed Tableside with Grand Marner– Good –Chilled Coconut Pineapple Digestif– OK The portions are on the smaller side but not miniscule. It was enough for me to feel full at the end of the night. The entrees are served simply and without too much presentation(or gimmick) fuss because the flavors speak for themselves. This specific menu was pricey but they do have others that start at $ 65.00 or you can simply order a la carte. I would say that as long as it includes the fettuccine, it is a good choice. I also hear they offer a killer happy hour but I have not tried it yet. Just writing this makes my mouth water. I am sure I will have Tosca dreams tonight. Overall, I had a wonderful experience. I can’t wait to return. Now if they would only reconsider letting guests bring their own wine…

All I have to say is AMAZING! I’m really big on trying different restaurants and Tosca definitely impressed me. My Boyfriend and I decided to go to Tosca after hearing a few people mention the restaurant and decided to try. The moment we walked in we fell in love with the Bar. I ordered the fettuccine, which by the way it’s tossed in a parmesan wheel tableside to you. I have to say, I believe that was my favorite part! The food was exceptional! I’m so glad my boyfriend and I decided to go and have a romantic there. We definitely were not disappointed. I will be returning soon enough to take my parents.

I love this place! I live on Miami Beach but experienced it like a tourist when the annual dermatology convention was here and I had to find places to eat near the convention center. I found this place on Unilocal and the reviews were good so I decided to try it. I loved it! It has a 1940s glamour vibe with crystal chandeliers and interesting wall paper in the bathrooms. The movie star vibe was fun and playful. I went back again in the same week and will definitely return again. It is a relaxing atmosphere. Although there is a DJ that made me worry that the music would soon be unbearable, they played quiet music that reminded me of Frank Sinatra, Natalie Cole and Tony Bennet– it was familiar music but I did not recognize it– so it was fresh with an old fashioned feel to it. It reminds me of the Pump Room in Chicago as it was in the day and I am certain that if they had enough space that they would have a dance floor for waltzing. I personally am tiring of the ultra, modern sleek«trying too hard,» and uncomfortable restaurants that abound these days. I was glad to find a throwback to the days of glamour. I found this place very romantic. They have a «Romantic menu for two» that my husband and I joked with the waiter that it had such heavy dishes that only a kiss could follow such a meal. The outside garden with the fountain is nice and the open air environment makes the most of beautiful Miami weather. Even the windows of the neighboring buildings were glowing in the night and contributing to the unique but familiar atmosphere. Walking in to the main dining room under the bows of the trees is a special experience that gets you in the right mindset for a special meal. The chairs are comfortable and the restaurant is not loud– two things that matter to me as much as the food. The menu is fun. I had the artichoke salad both times and my friend enjoyed the Beet salad. The Fettuccine prepared at the table with black truffles is excellent if you want a rich meal. The mushroom Paparadelle had great flavor but was a little messy to eat. The grilled octopus was amazing. I am looking forward to going there again.

On a recent trip home to South Florida, I had the pleasure of being taken to Tosca for dinner and had the Roasted Half Chicken(among other yummy things, but that is neither here-nor-there). When I go to a new restaurant I order one of two ways: either I select the ballsiest item on the menu or I go the safe(yet delicious) chicken route. Some may think that the chicken dish is what you would select if you were unsure of a place and its menu, but I use it as a gauge of whether or not a restaurant can exceed my expectations — if they can make the chicken right, chances are the rest of their menu is mind-blowing. Let me tell you, Tosca can make a mean chicken and I cannot wait for the opportunity to return. In two words: MUSTGO!

I’m so late with this review! Booked a reservation during SOBEWFF weekend and it was great! HOT: The food is decadent and amazing– very refreshing to eat a well-rounded meal following so many small bites at the Festival. COLD: The service was a little slow, but it was super busy, so I was OK with it.

Delicious! I went to Tosca on Sat with my girlfriends, and boy was it an experience! We shared the $ 75 menu w/8 courses and a Tosca Seafood Salad and Im so happy we chose that. The burratta inthe caprese salad was so creamy(I am a fan of cheese) and omg the Fettuccini that they prepare tableside with the wheel and flambeyed was awesome! Really creamy and good, the truffles were an added kick too. One of the other dishes, the prime-tenderloin was really good as well. We ordered it medium rare and they served it in this cute wooden cutting board — perfectly pink with a side of mash potatoes(need to learn that recipe!) It was really the perfect place for a girls night out. It felt very magical with the lights and the garden. The bread rolls were good too — wish they were a little bit bigger though. The only minor problem was that although we got to the restaurant on time, they did make us wait. Luckily there was a nice bar where we had a few cocktails, my favorite was the Elderflower champagne.

Unapologetically, jaw-droppingly overpriced. Snooty wait-staff will«up-sell» you like its a street mugging(18% grat included obviously). Your wallet will be violated. That said, all the food was actually outstanding. The $ 45 seafood pasta was especially good.

The food is extremely overpriced(even for Miami standards) and is nothing special at all. The service was beyond horrible(again, even for Miami standards). I really don’t need to go into much more detail than that. We came here when they first opened so I am not sure if things have changed since then but I am also not sure that we would ever want to check. Honestly, there are far better restaurants for significantly less $$$$$.

If you have a Rolex you aren’t too crazy about, or a Louis Vuitton bag you could live without, you might want to sell those on eBay before dining at Tosca. If you have read my other reviews you know I am fortunate to dine out a lot, often in high end restaurants. Never in my life have I witnessed as expensive a menu as Tosca(not in NYC, London, Rome or Paris). Let me get to the ambiance and the food before I continue my rant about the prices. The ambiance is beautiful. It’s as romantic as can be with a fountain outside, lovely outside seating, cozy bar area, and private cinema. If you are getting engaged, this would be the place to take your fiancée. Although you might not be able to get as big a diamond after you drop so much money at this place. We had very little food last night. Why? Well it was a question for us to splurge or make our car and/or mortgage payments so we decided to order only a few things. We sampled the truffled mac and cheese, asparagus, mushroom side, mushroom ravioli and cheese board. Everything was tasty, although the asparagus was overcooked. Also, the chef could be a little less heavy handed with the salt. Service was superb. The entire staff couldn’t have been nicer. They gave the sort of service you would expect if you are paying such exorbitant prices. Let me give you an idea of the pricing so you don’t think I am out of line: * The eleven course tasting menu is $ 295(which is WITHOUT a wine flight) * Salads range from $ 15 to $ 45 dollars. You can add special aged balsamic to your salad for an additional $ 200 per ¼ oz. * My mushroom ravioli was three ravioli for $ 30 * One grilled shrimp is $ 30. It’s $ 15 per grilled diver scallop. So that is just to give you an idea. I laughed when one of the reviews read«it’s not cheap». That is the understatement of a lifetime. Go here if you have a very special occasion, are a multimillionaire, or are really into a particular woman or man. Enjoy!

A culinary adventure! When I was invited to go to Tosca, I was aware this was a fine dining restaurant, but I was not prepared for this culinary adventure. We were first greeted by Nikolas and Carlos and then taken on a tour of the restaurant as our host explained the concept of the venue. An inviting entrance welcomes you to the open kitchen and then you can see the lovely indoor/outdoor dining area that is very cozy and relaxing yet luxurious and sophisticated. There are several intimate areas located in the outside garden, you can sit and watch black and white films at a settee or have a glass of champagne while looking over the charming water fountain in which you will be given a «Tosca» coin to make your wish before departing. Have you seen the movie Letters to Juliette? Well, you can write your Letters to Juliette, Yes, you read right, You can wish away on your letter and place it at this wall and you will get a reply from Juliette via mail. Unlike most restaurants, at Tosca you get your table for the entire evening, so no need to rush. The ingredients are the best you can get from Italy, exclusive truffle oils, olive oils and balsamic vinagrettes made especially for this restaurant and rare vodkas and rum. From the fresh gazpacho, Colby beef tartar topped with black caviar, fettuccini torched right on our table inside a carved out parmesan cheese wheel. Dover dole fish with fresh capers and to finish off, the chocolate mousse was exquisite. Fine wines were paired with each dish to ensure nothing but a perfect match for each course. Tasting menus are available. Some may think the price is too high but this fine dining experience is truly priceless.
