My work hubby has been telling me about one of his favorite Kendall spots, Hole in the Wall, for the longest time. This past weekend, I was finally all the way down south, so we made it a point to pop in for a beer and quick bite. I have to tell you, I’m a huge fan of dark bars and was stoked as soon as we walked in. The day went from high-noon-bright-ass-sunshine outside, to complete dimly-lit-night-time-bar inside. So the vibe is definitely happening in here. There was a pretty good selection of beer on tap and chalk board menu on the wall. My work hubby was raving about the mozzarella sticks & I was starving, so the bartender barely got our drink orders before I blurted out and ordered some. So they came out in like an flattened empanada shape with shaved parm on top. Not really a stick, but! They were freaking awesome! I know you’re thinking, how great can mozz sticks be? Fried cheese is fried cheese and yes, it’s magical, but come on? Nope. I’m telling you. These little mozz patties are delicious! You just try them. ((As I was starting the review, I realized I didn’t get a pic of the damn pulled pork nachos we ordered!(gasp) So you’ll just have to use your imagination here.)) After sitting there sipping beers and taking in the smokey meats aromas, I guess we were so hungry we just ate our food with no photos! I know, it’s unheard of, but it happened. The nachos however, were delicious and the pulled park was the star of the show. There was tons of melted velveta-y style cheese, fresh pico, jalapeños, and of course the BBQ pulled pork. The combo was on point and after trying the pulled pork, I’m already excited about my next visit way down south to check out the straight up BBQ!

This place is great. Food is delicious(I would say the wings are better than sports grill.) service is kinda slow so don’t go if your in a rush. Everyone is laid back and friendly :) lots of big tv screens which is perfect if you want to watch games. Reasonable priced.

It’s a chill spot to come and eat your regular«sport bar» meals. They have TV’s every where and play music from a Juke Box. Also, they’re known for having the best wings in town and according to my girlfriend and friend, this is true. I tried their Hot dog and Mushroom burger which were on point for the price. The only reason I’m giving them 3 stars is because their service isn’t consistent. 1 day it was good and my next visit was terrible.

This place is good, but nothing out of this world. Literally a hole in the wall, as it is extra small. I enjoyed my meal and the service, but it’s not a place I would run back to. The fries and mozzarella sticks are honestly the highlight of the meal. Hands down, the best. Ever. Their wings are grilled, which I like, and they’re HUGE. Bae and I ordered 6 mild wings, with the brisket sliders. The brisket sliders are okay. Not bad at all, however, not great. The ambiance is good, BUT had two toddlers screaming behind me as this is a bar-type place and they didn’t seem to like the loud tv’s and yelling over the game. Totally understandable. Not the restaurants fault, but just take note that there are children allowed and you may encounter some yelling and crying. All in all, a good spot with really good service. Cannot complain.

Second time’s the charm!!! Wait a minute… That doesn’t sound right. :/ Anywho… After a failed attempted to try and squeeze our way in here on a Saturday night, as luck would have it, a friend and I were having a serious arcade itch and down the road we went. Since our super cool arcade is just a few steps away from here, we decided to give it another go and see if the fates were going to grant us some grub this time. **Spoiler Alert** They actually have one arcade machine in there towards the back left corner and it was silently teasing us. :P We were feeling lucky, it was a Tuesday this time and we eagerly made our way inside hoping for the best. Now, I do understand that this restaurant is a little small so we were once again greeted with a packed house and were once again left standing at the entrance wondering just how does one go about getting a table. I must say, it is a bit of a free for all when it comes to getting a table. You wait patiently for some patrons to be done and once they get up, you better be paying attention and go for it. Among all the craziness, we learned that Tuesday is taco Tuesday, which means that you can get tacos for a $ 1!!! Seating is picnic bench style so if you’re looking to not be sitting next to a complete stranger then you’re better off waiting for a booth. They don’t have many but they are there if you just want to dine with your companion. Personally, I thought it was a bit hectic with the seat yourself option and the not really knowing if your new guest is a new guest. That and the small confusion of who is next to sit down. As for the food, I went with the chili cheese dog and that sucker was bigger than I thought it was. It must have been at least a foot long and even though I struggled a little to pick it up– that chili combined with that soft bun was not allowing proper holdage– it was delicious! :) Also, flagging down a waitress can be a bit of a hassle and if you’re not paying attention when they zoom by then you’re out of luck! Overall, it is a nice place if you want to come and watch a sports game. They have t.v.‘s everywhere with a few different sports channels so you probably won’t miss the big game if you go. I wouldn’t recommend it for big groups though, the every man for themselves seating probably won’t allow you to sit together.

Mozzarella sticks were great! Ribs were way over cooked, piggy Mac was ok– Mac n cheese was room temperature :/. Was a busy night during heat eastern finals– our waitress got our order and we never saw her again at our table although she was waiting on others– Another waitress picked us up because we stopped her to say we were missing our Coleslaws. Maybe we’ll be back on a slower night. IMO should have been more staff during a heat game

Best chicken wings I’ve had in along time. There’s a great selection on the menu compared to other sports grills(looking at you hammocks grill.) Service is slow sometimes but prices are fair and it’s always a good time !

Hole in the Wall is one of my go to local spots. I love that it is literally a hole in the wall. It is a small restaurant, very cozy, and has TVs lining every inch of wall space. The food is really good too! My favorite item on the menu is the Pork Nachos. Sooooo good! This is a great place for a casual dinner or to watch a game. FYI, they only serve beer and wine. Also… Heads up! The service is slow, slow, slow! The girls working there are not in a rush for anything! So… If you go here don’t expect top notch service. It is a laid back joint and they will take their damn time. Every time I go I always complain about the service to my boyfriend or friends and then the food comes and I realize why we keep coming back. We have been here at least ten times!

I was really excited for this restaurant and from the reviews it looked promising but the food was mediocre. I ordered the chicken tacos with nachos and cheese. In my opinion, the ingredients just weren’t fresh enough(the sour cream was off, and the tomatillo was nasty). The staff was really nice and the atmosphere of restaurant was also great but I’m disappointed with the food.

For months now, I kept hearing about this«Hole In The Wall». After a softball game, «Hole In The Wall» Teacher friends, «Hole In The Wall». On a Monday, we finally decided to check it out for lunch. Arrived a few minutes after noon and was surprised; there were only two available tables along with seats at the bar. Unsure if anyone was going to seat me, I waited a bit and then grabbed one of the tables(which was the right thing to do). Shortly thereafter, a very friendly server immediately brought us menus and asked if we needed drinks. He quickly returned with our drinks and took our order. I ordered two blackened dolphin tacos. My other half, half a rack of ribs. I was surprised that as busy as they were, my meal arrived fairly quick. Dolphin Tacos, perfectly cooked and exactly as requested. The fish was fresh and they were accompanied by tortilla chips and pico. My other half rated the ribs a 9 out of 10. I couldn’t resist trying his fries. There were thin and very tasty! In summary, why did I take so long to visit this place??? I have finally filled the void after a similar restaurant that I used to frequent closed. Yay me!

Ribs, pulled pork nachos, good IPA selection. A great late night place to see games and hang out. Not the biggest bar, but… It’s called Hole in the Wall. Also, their orange plastic cups are great!

Service was horrible even though hole was ¾ empty. First of all, the waitress brought kids food waaaaayyy before the adults which is always a mistake because once they are done they want to go. My son ordered a salad which never came until he reminded her. Mahi Reuben sandwiches very greasy and dolphin a bit dry, no water refills whatsoever, in fact the waitress disappeared! Table was full of empty dishes and I had to ask the waitress to please remove the empty dishes so we could eat our food. Put some money in the jukebox and at that point they actually lowered the music which had previously been blasting! It’s a shame because I’ve come before and had positive experience.

Came on a Sunday night and had the brisket sliders. The brisket was soft and very delicious! I enjoyed their fries which seem to be made in-house from potatoes and not out of a bag. As soon as we walked in, we were told to sit anywhere we wanted and they were very attentive. They keep a roll of paper towel on the tables which is good for the finger foods and wings. The bathrooms were kept clean. My fiancée had their wings with a honey coating and he enjoyed those as well. Also, parking is abundant because it is part of a shopping center.

Came here with high expectations but was not too pleased with the experience. The food is ok but not worth us coming back and not enough wow factor to make me want to. It took half an hour to get our food and some of it was cold. Good place to have a few beers and maybe some wings etc. but since I don’t drink this is not going to be a repeat for me.

For appetizers we ordered the nacho grande, which was absolutely delicious. We left the basket completely empty. As an entrée we had the ribs, they were good, I expected them to be better though. What made them better was the different variety of bbq sauce they had on the tables that you can add to the ribs. I love how it literally is a hole in the wall. The atmosphere is very chill. Plus I saw a sign they had, the specials they have for Tuesday ate $ 1 tacos with a purchase beer, wine, or soda(so I definitely want to come back to try it out again).

Great wings, beer and nachos! Stopped here by chance and the dark windows made the place look closed from the outside. Menu had great options such as tuna, burgers wings etc.

While visiting in the Kendall area of Florida recently I was looking for a place where I could get a beer and something to eat that was not too far from where I was staying. I found Hole In The Wall on Unilocal and the reviews were favorable so I decided to check them out. I was dining alone so I took a seat at the bar. The young lady behind the bar asked me what I’d like to drink and soon after brought me a Goose Island IPA. After surveying the menu I decided on their pulled pork on Texas toast with fries and coleslaw. The pork was very flavorful and was not smothered in BBQ sauce, which is just the way I like my BBQ. The fries were on point and the coleslaw was OK but I have had better. Still in the area a week later I decided to return a try their brisket. The brisket was moist and full of flavor and also not heavily sauced. The fries and coleslaw were still the same. If I lived in the area I would probably make this my go to BBQ joint, I mean they do have my favorite IPA on tap!

We walked in on a Sunday and sat ourselves as we usually do at all Hole in the Wall locations. I don’t know how many people they have on staff on a Sunday night, but I had to get up and approach the one person who managed to come out from behind the bar to clean a table and ask for menus. Bad service really puts a damper on any meal for me. The ribs were still delicious, the wings were forgettable. Overall, I’d head to any of the Hole in the Walls on US1 for better service and food.

The food was very tasty… but the service is what kept me from giving this place 5 stars. Shared the poboy shrimp sandwich with a friend. $ 9 and this sandwhich was HUGE! The chips and salsa and the calamari were both good. Went on a Tuesday($ 1 tacos) with purchase of soda or beer. It’s a cool deal, but once I begun to order, I was told the dolphin or shrimp tacos were not part of deal, I couldn’t take advantage as I don’t eat meat or chicken. They should allow ability to upgrade, maybe $ 2 tacos(seafood) so we can still enjoy the special. Two reasons why this is not a 5 star restaurant, in its category: -#1.My toddler had a really bad fall from the bench. She is well behaved and not clumsy, but since the table has no back, at one point she lost balance and flipped back. She was crying her eyes out, and not one employee came to check in or offer ice for her head. Nothing. It’s a small place, everyone saw it happen, plus her cries were heard throughout. #2. the initial sandwhich had burned bread, I meantioned this to the waiter, she said she would bring me another bread. Why she wouldn’t just take the sandwhich and make the switch at the kitchen, is beyond me. This killed the sandwich experience, as me transferring the lettuce, shrimp, sauce, etc, with my bare hands, in the middle of the restaurant, was not a fun experience, nor was it arrange the same, and we all know that the arranging of items sure makes a difference in taste. Not very happy with the experience for the above reasons. Sadly, as the food does have potential.

Do you like epic portions of BBQ? Glorious burgers worthy of a True Man? Pitchers of local beers? Funny«hole humor?» This is the place for you. Beware: Not all their food is created equal. I had the blacked dolphin tacos. I would get them again, but they came loaded with crunchy water(iceberg, not cabbage), sour cream and… cheese? No. Also, guac was $ 1.50 extra for a 3 oz. lidded container on the side. You guys can OBVIOUSLY do better. I picked off all the gross, added the side container of pico and guac, squeezed a lime and they were much better. They use good quality fish, though the jury’s out on whether it’s local. When I asked the waitress(because they also had tuna tacos – I want what’s local, but if neither of them is… I’d rather have tuna) if it was, she said she didn’t know. After I raised my eyebrows she exclaimed«OH! You want to know?» … But my boy, Rib, got the BBQ pork and it was literally enough for two people to share. Mountains of delicious pork-meat were piled over texas toast, with delicious fresh fries. Also: those fries were once potatos. Not frozen. Beware: The place gets *packed* around dinner. Either the Hole is having a hard time financially, or they need to better manage their schedule. Having two ladies work about 75 seats during dinner rush is NOT setting yourself up for success. Whatever money you think you’re saving yourselves, guys, it ain’t worth your customers. The next time I wait 30 minutes for a bill I might just assume it’s on the house.(not really) Truth be told, though, I will happily go again. It’s exactly what you want in a bar, and I have management can go all Ganesha and remove all obstacles up in here. Now I’m hungry.
