Their décor is so relaxing and romantic. I came here with my husband and sister after going on Google and Unilocaling for the best sushi places near the house and came across this one. The way they present their food is gorgeous. It tastes as great as it looks. I’m so glad I found this place. It’ll be our go to whenever we come back home :] we ordered so many rolls since they have such a huge variety but we couldn’t finish it nor packed it since we weren’t going straight home which was a waste. Definitely would recommend.

Customer service is horrendous, i used to be a regular sin e opening in March 2009. Not anymore, food has decline as Well, a tuna tartar with rice? No way… Poor service will pay a price one day… there are many other choices in town

We go here often and love it! Can’t go wrong at this restaurant. The Crazy Crab roll, South Beach roll, Jalapeño Popper roll and The Sophie are some of our favorites! The prices are reasonable and service is decent. If I had to say a negative, I would suggest a better wine list!

Excellent. Recommended as best sushi ever and I must agree. Had the sushi and tartar. All excellent. Would go back anytime I am in Miami

First off let me say that I love Obba Sushi and have eaten at both locations(Brickell and Coral Gables), lunch and dinner, dozens and dozens of times. I was disappointed last night in a big way. We had been out of town for the Holidays so we thought it would be nice to place an order online and pick up(from the Brickell location). After I had placed my order, I received a call saying 60 minutes to have my order completed(which seems excessive but fine). I got there 60 minutes later and the restaurant was half empty, and my order still wasn’t ready. Moreover even though they insisted they had checked off my order several times, it ended up being wrong(and I assume the other guy waiting there got my much-loved Jalapeño popper roll). When my wife called to discuss the matter the person on the phone was not helpful. This is shameful treatment for a family that has literally spent thousands of dollars in your restaurant. As a service business if get it wrong you need to make it right.

Friendly staff, good sushi, big menu. Hard to say it’s the best when you’ve been spoiled living in Hawaii! Croncante roll is tasty if you don’t like it raw. Location too convenient for some of us locals! Frequent flyer discount please!

Very good and inexpensive sushi in Brickell. Never been to the restaurant but delivery is always great.

I come here often, food is very good, specially the tartars and their sushi sandwich. Their rolls are not your tipical generic sushi roll, it’s very original and fresh. Only bad comment would be towards the service, I haven’t had any particular bad experiences by they are usually rather slow and, on one occasion, the waiter, who I can only assume was new, really did not know anything about the menu… Still no big deal, I can guarantee you’ll like the food!

Mark A. wanted to come here because we saw that an artist would be showcasing their stuff, and the event came with free samples & cocktails. The location seems to be tucked away and hidden, connected to a hotel(I think?), but pretty view near the water. Although the event didn’t meet our expectations(I’m not here to review the event), the food was satisfying. We ordered the Temptation Roll & Rainbow Roll. 2 for 1 happy hour special! Both were good, but Temptation was the better of the two with the seared tuna being the star. Delicious! Unfortunately, the service did not match the sushi whatsoever. We waited forever for everything. At first I thought that they weren’t serving us because we originally asked if this was where the art event was. I assumed that we weren’t «regular» customers then, and I was waiting for something special to happen aka the event to start. Turns out, they were just waiting on us to look up from poring over the menu. I didn’t find the place to be too packed, so I’m not really sure why the service was so slow throughout our visit. Slow to get food. Asked for a refill on water. Slow to get the check. Slow to pick up the check. If only the service was better, I’d come back for that seared tuna.

I come here fairly often because it’s really close to my apartment. They have a great selection of rolls, the fish is always fresh. The ceviche roll is really different from your typical roll and it’s delicious. The obba sandwich, which is a sandwich shaped roll, is good too. The downside of this place is the service… It’s always bad. They waiters just don’t seem to care, they take forever to come to your table when you need something and take a long time to fulfill your requests.

Food amazing. Probably the most creative sushi restaurant we have been. Sushi sandwich, macadamia nut roll, great miso. Service in the other hand, is the worst. Feeling lost at the entrance(and it is a small place) so sat ourselves. Had to flag for service every time. But there were 4 or 5 people behind the sushi bar line, 4 servers, 2 cashiers and maybe even another person walking around. Could not understand the lack of service. So, if you don’t mind chasing down for great sushi, this is the place.

Within our first ten minutes this place rubbed us the wrong way. We came as a group we got our waters and hot tea, politely asked for sugar. Server says ok… Takes appetizer orders walks away… Still waiting for sugar for our tea, the server returns I ask again politely for sugar she replies ok. After 20 minutes I decide to get up to find a server to ask for sugar. The server I found said ok and was being a bit rude. Not to mention later we find out they have variety of flavors, wow! The food took way to long to come out, service was just plain horrible. Will not be back

Very good sushi and service! I have to say that this the best sushi I’ve had since moving to Miami. They also have great lunch specials. Also, if you subscribe to their email system, you get a free roll. I highly recommend you try this spot for their sushi!

Just found out about this place because my girlfriend had a birthday dinner last night. I have friends who live in the building adjunct to the restaurant, but I had never actually tried it out. I wouldn’t recommend to go with a large party, it was a little inconvenient having 18 people. The party was originally for 15, and we tried calling to let them know we were expecting three more guests, but that did not happen. The way they setup our table was horrible! Some of us were giving our back to other guests at our party. Dining experience was overall meh. The saki was good but the food was alright. I wasn’t really impressed by any of the rolls or the appetizers. We had about 5 different appetizers and 6 different rolls. They way they took our orders was strange too, the waitress didn’t recommend ordering family style so that was a mess to organize by the time we got the check. By the end of our meal, they ran out of some desserts(which was what some of us were looking forward to). We did have a very friendly and patient waitress, great job on keeping that smile girl.

As someone who would probably eat sushi every day if I could — this place is great! Huge fan and so happy someone took me here. I would have never found it on my own since it’s tucked away in an apartment building first floor but what a little gem. Volcano roll — fab! And the salads are tasty! Can’t wait to go back and try more. Wish they would deliver to Coconut Grove!

Obba Sushi is simply good! A nice spot with good service and food. It is great for inexpensive quality sushi. Nice atmosphere and location… The menu is expansive and there is a great variety of everything especially rolls. The rolls are creative and flavorful. Highly recommend the Chipotle Roll. Their signature dish is the Obba Sandwich which is just sooo good an creativity at its best! The Tuna Tartare is also very tasty. The location is perfect as it is located on Brickell Bay. Although I went at night, I am sure that the view is beautiful in the day as it is overlooking the water. The place is a little hidden as it is not seen from the street and shares a building with a residential condominium. Definitely check this place out though!

This is my go to place for sushi around my work hours. Their lunch special are good, with a variety in selections and prices. I must say the freshness and quality for sushi is out of the world. I normally order lunch special #25 which consist of 9 pcs of sushi(each piece has a nice size and thickness to it). I also order the tuna tartar. The location has modern look to it with white/orange/brown décor. They have wicker patio furniture outside for outside seating. The negative about eating inside is that the tables are too close together with other parties. FYI the bathroom does not have a changing station. So one time that my hubby surprised me at work to have lunch with him and my daughter. I had to put her changing pad on the floor and then change her diaper.

Not much to be said about Obba and this is a good thing. Good service, the place is clean, cool 80’s music, water views, fresh food and the prices are right. The marinated squid and sea vegetable appetizer was a generous portion, great for sharing, and the marinade had the perfect balance of yuzu, sesame and soy. Loved it. I went simple with a brown rice unagi bowl. $ 11.50 for a huge bowl of brown rice topped with my beloved BBQ eel. The eel was perfect, buttery tasting, sweet and salty perfection. The rice was short grain sushi rice to my delight(not the cheap long grain rice many places sub), lightly seasoned with a little soy sauce. The chirashi bowl is also a great deal. For $ 9.99, you get a huge bowl of rice topped with generous slabs of sashimi. Brown rice or fried rice are optional. The fried rice has great flavor but a little too oily for my taste, especially paired with rich oily fish. Dessert was small but a nice finish without the guilt. Apple cinnamon filled hot fried spring rolls, crispy on the outside, dusted with powdered sugar and served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Tastes just like apple strudel, yum.
