Great local spot. Good beer and whisky selection. A lot of hospitality regulars. Dog friends. Big projector out back to enjoy the big game. Live music some nights on the front patio.

I was denied entry using a real ID even though I’m actually 21. My friend who’s 25 was also accused of using a fake ID. The bouncers don’t know what they’re doing and arbitrarily decide who they will and won’t let in. Very unprofessional and a horrible experience overall.

The bourbon selection was good, though this review is in regards to poor management/customer service. I was overcharged $ 18 on my bill, which I did not notice until a couple weeks later as it was added on to the tip. Most likely an honest mistake, either the bartender thought the 2 was a 20 or mistyped the amount. Regardless, I have called numerous times over the past month. Each time, there was no employee on site who was capable of offering a refund(I called at all hours of the day). I also left my number each time and was promised a call back later once a capable manager arrived. So far I have had no response from anyone at Taurus. I live in Tampa, so am unable to go by in person. I am now disputing the charge with my credit card company. Very poor and disrespectful customer service and I would never recommend this place on principal.

Came here Saturday during the day. The place itself is kind of ragged down. It’s really an old beat down neighborhood pub. Not too clean on the inside. Service was good. The food: –American Wagyu sliders: Sliders were actually decent. They were cooked medium and were juicy and had good flavored meat. The sharp cheddar was nice. A solid 3 out of 5. –Pork belly sliders: Came with an apricot spread. These were flat out bad. First, the apricot jam was not a good complement to the pork belly. I do think that the sweetness of the apricot jam can complement the fatty flavors of the pork belly, but this jam tasted way too tart and… bad… The pork belly was also WAYYY too fatty. Literally ¾th of the slider was a fat slab of pure fat that was inedible. Mind you these are sliders… so the amount of pork belly left that was edible was a mere bite. 1 out of 5, these should be taken off the menu. –Taurus burger: AVERAGE. Nothing stood out from this burger. I read many Unilocal reviews about burgers being a thing here. Not in my experience. Ordered medium and came out very close to well done? This was a burger you could find at ANY other restaurant. It was not a bad burger, I’d give it a 3 out of 5 for being average.

Excellent food, excellent service, excellent drink selections… I have been going here for years, and I am never disappointed. The Thursday comedy night is my favorite. Great comedians perform for free! No drink minimums. The host does a fantastic job every week. You should try their burger and avocado fries, but all the food is great and well priced. Staff is extremely helpful, but this is not a white glove place. If you need a drink, you have to make it known. But do know, it will be prepared to you request. The whiskey and scotch menu is amazing considering a small location, and the bartenders and very knowledgable. The interior buildout is unique as they were able to preserve the old structure.

I have to admit I hadn’t heard of Taurus until recently, when my friends celebrated their engagement here, but it turned out to be quite a decent neighborhood bar. The brunch deal is good — $ 30 for an entrée(I had the classic but delicious eggs Benedict) and unlimited mimosa, bloody’s, etc. Pros: true to its name, the beer and whiskey lists are extensive! They don’t have their own kitchen but you can order food from the restaurant next door. And last but not least, they’re dog-friendly! Cons: our server was cool and interactive, but service in general was very slow. I know we were a semi-large group, but it took about 20 minutes between the first and last dishes that were served. I also found it a bit dark inside, considering it was a sunny Sunday morning. Maybe the outdoor seating is better for brunch. Overall, Taurus is what it is — a bar. I liked the simple, unpretentious atmosphere and wouldn’t mind returning to check out its nightlife(and burgers!) during a karaōke or trivia night.

It’s unbelievable I had never been here before, being that it’s been around forever! But, I finally made it and I loved the vibe; I loved the huge beer menu. The food was ok — I had a burger, which was decent — not the best I’ve had. But the fried avocado was awful — they pretty much could have breaded and fried anything else, and it still would’ve had no taste. Cool place though. I’ll return for the drinks.

Cool place, really nice food. The Fries with truffle oil are amazing! One of the best burgers in Miami!

Nestled on the edge of Coconut Grove, Taurus appears to be the ideal spot to meet-up with friends and enjoy a libation or three. Yes, it’s true, the drink menu does boast a somewhat impressive list of beers, whiskey, scotch and bourbon, but be sure you do your own homework! Why? Because the folks behind the bar are only there to pour various liquids into your glass & collect on your bill. The saving grace is the food — the sliders, the tuna tartare, the hot dog and one or two more items are pretty tasty! But don’t ask the staff for recommendations — this is a figure it out yourself kinda place! Lastly, we come to the valet parking! For $ 6 they’ll park your car in the bank lot next door, but at the end of the night, you’ll get the chance to retrieve it yourself — feel what it’s like to be a valet, if only for a minute or two! All in all, we’ll be back for the drinks, but on any other night but Trivia Night, and we’ll Über it there!

Love Taurus! Pretty great beer and whiskey selection. They have yummy sliders, my favorite are the Hialeah Sliders(Tostones instead of buns– hell yes) Monday= In the Biz Tuesday= Trivia Wed= Karaōke Thurs= Free comedy night Taurus is the super chill, non douchey, non fratty place in the Grove.

Underwhelming at best. The avocado fries were burned, the bartenders aloof, and the beers overpriced. Their whiskey menu is impressive, though.

I love the ambiance! Its dark like an Irish pub, the chimney makes it very homey too! The burgers are delicious!!! The chips are to die and they have poutine! Which i had only had in Canada, i was happily surprised by this! The craft beer selection is great and the scotch whiskeys are the most ample i have ever seen in Miami!!! Thumbs up!

Hialeah sliders, asked for medium rare; got well done. Definitely not wagyu beef. Avocado fries… lol might as well order 8 orders because they only come with THREETHINSLICES. After asking why there was only three, I quote«well there are only three slices in an avocado.» The grilled cheese… make one at home with a blended cheese. It was made with a thin white bread, basic cheese, and ZEROBUTTER. Overall experience was poor. Service was okay… our waiter was busy talking to friends who visited him. My opinion is to spend your money elsewhere.

They have a large selection of beer and Whiskey which is amazing. The burgers were also surprisingly good considering they do not seem to specialized in or put too much focus on the food. The problem lied in the fact that service was not very good and the place was not even packed.

After getting off to a confusing start everything was perfect! We walked in and it’s very dark, in smelled pretty bad inside like sewage, but with the perfect weather we decided to eat out front. We sat outside for a few minutes before walking back inside to see if we were doing something wrong or out of the norm of the«locals» this time we were acknowledged and given some menus and assigned a server, everything after that was great! Our server was extremely nice and professional, he recommended the Tostones for our appetizer which were delicious! You think meh it’s just Tostones right? But they had garlic & chimichurri which give it a wonderful taste. For our dinner I had the Blackened Chicken Strips w/fries and she had the Fried Fish Tacos. Both equally delicious! And cooked and presented perfectly! The server informed us that they share the kitchen with the restaurant next door. For being a Whisky Bar they serve up some very good«Bar Food» and the location and atmosphere is secluded and ideal for a nice time. I would definitely return. They offer 15% off your entrée with a drink of Whisky.

I like it, I really really like it! This restaurant is off the beaten path of what are considered the more poppin restaurants and bars of coconut grove and I gotta say it works. I stopped by on a saturday afternoon and choose to sit out on the front porch area. Even with other groups of people sitting around I felt like my friends and I had the area to ourselves. I wanna start off by saying that the food was amazing! I had the margarita pizza which was not only delicious but also generous in size. My friends all had burgers and they all were raving about how good they were. The beer menu is great with a large variety to choose from which makes it perfect for all types of beer lovers. The service was great and we even got a little background history about the place. Atmospher was so chill we actually stayed here chatting longer then we originally intended. I would definately love to come back and maybe hangout in the back area that just opened up. I like the concept this place has going for it and the fact that it’s not your typical miami scene makes it that much better. Also, being the animal lover that I am I give this joint extra points just for being dog friendly.

Shocked. I was shocked to find out that Taurus was not grimey, it was not just beer, and it was not Tavern. Surprise 1: Taurus has an extensive whiskey menu(90+).(What?!) Surprise 2: Taurus has cocktails made with a variety of infused liquors. Think: cucumber-infused gin, jalapeño-infused vodka, peach-infused bourbon; simple but solid.(Again, what?!) Surprise 3: Those cocktails are not only delicious, they are $ 10.(Seriously, WHAT?) Surprise 4: Avocado fries.(Gimme!) They have trivia(Tuesdays), and an open mic night(Thursdays). They have a 50 Beer loyalty program. i’m just still very surprised. It is very much a local’s spot; I only went after a guy who lives 2 blocks away heralded me there and proceeded to fist-bump every patron at the bar, and confirm he’d be back the next day to watch the Dolphins’ game. Taurus is Cheers. It’s Cheers. Everybody knows your name. They are always glad you came. I thought Cheers was FICTION. Taurus is the definition of «A-OK»: It’s good, it’s dependable, it’s not trying to sell you with any sort of gimmick, it’s just a bar, being a bar, serving the locals and bringing the community together.

Taurus is the closest thing you’ll get to a Cheers-like place where everybody knows your name. Taurus has been there for many years & if you’re a regular, you’ll be treated more like an old friend rather than just another customer. I go here frequently with my father, who always seems to know everyone there. I’ve never had a bad time & always left with a happy stomach. Taurus isn’t very big, but it’s vibe is very relaxed & that’s a rarity for a place right in the heart of the Grove. Taurus has a nice bar with several beers on tap, great food(especially their Burgers & Chicken Strips which I have uploaded many photos of) & they are dog friendly so feel free to bring mans best friend. I recommend going on one of their many themed nights. I have gone for the trivia night & it was great. Tonight was a Luau theme which was a lot of fun. The whole place was covered in tropical stuff & the servers & bartenders were decked out in leis. The vibe at Taurus is something you’ll have to experience yourself so go check it out!

Came here to watch the heat game, and it didn’t disappoint. We thought it was going to be slammed, but it looked like most of the big parties were outside. We got a table by the tv and the server came right over. We ordered a couple drinks and it was great, till i tasted the wine that may have gone bad. No worries though, the server took it back right away and opened a new bottle. He was really cool about it, grabbed it and replaced it before I finished my sentence! People there are chill, played with the cutest Samoyed mix dog– gorgeous. We didn’t order food, but a bunch of people around us did and it all looked really good. Next time, we’re eating there! Can’t wait to go back.
