Sha’s Short Stop

Really thought I had done this review already but seems I did not. But you already knew that. Unlike other reviewers I didn’t have the burger or chicken but went right for the ribs. When looking for Bar B Que ribs you know they are made in advance so the preparation before serving makes all the difference.
These here is where Sha falls down. The ribs were cool to cold when I get them home (a five minute ride) so they had to be reheated. After a 10 minute stint in the toaster oven they were about the right temperature for consumption. The meat itself was pretty tender, not fall off the bone tender but a slight tug with you teeth renders meat from the bone.
The sauce on the ribs was a bit unexpected, it was more like a Asian chili Sauce jazzed up with garlic. And when I say Jazzed up I mean like Louis Armstrong, Dizzy Gillespie and Mile Davis all trumpeting at once, in your ear, at 2:00 AM. It’s a little overpowering. So this rates a miss in my book. Have to say my first experience was a very good experience. Was in the mood for BBQ chicken and I received a very large, well seasoned, moist and tasty ½ of a chicken. Crispy sweet tasting skin and perfectly cooked juicy meat that stayed warm during my 4 mile trip home. Cole Slaw was very wet and tasty. The Mac n Cheese side was, also, very tasty — rotini pasta with a smoky flavor to the cheese. Very well done. Add cornbread to the menu and you have another star.
A one item food truck just doesn’t work these days. Stay with variety and make each of those items the best you can. Maybe stick with BBQ fare and eliminate the burger/​dogs you can find at any other food truck. Pulled pork, sausage, chicken, ribs and variety of sides and sauces.

Very similar to the first comment. Burger was a frozen patty, seemed to be the cheapest store patty at that. The sauce was good. Had no cheddar cheese. Not a well run show. It’s cheap but I would pay a lil more for better quality.

Disappointing; (
Most in the FOOD TRUCK revolution are providing Hand Crafted Delights. This is far from it. It was frozen mediocrity. The hamburger was a dressed up cafeteria quality patty. Wings, low quality frozen and fried. the under crust under cooked and gummy. Please Sha Short Stop if you are reading this pick one thing and do it well like fresh fried wings!
