This place is overrated for sure. It’s regular tex-mex food. Nothing to get super hyped about.

Meh. Nothing spectacular. Most everything tastes overly processed and is nothing special. Food is edible… and not authentic Mexican.

This is a very popular place. We went for dinner on Tuesday at 6PM and it was well over ¾ full. The inside is very nice with beautiful décor. The staff was very friendly. Our server Manuel was professional, friendly and he did a great job. You receive the complimentary chips and salsa when you are seated. The chips were great. Thin and fresh tasting. There were three salsas presented. One was sweet and tasted like a pineapple salsa. The second was a chipotle salsa. The third was a nice roasted salsa with a nice kick of heat. They were all three delicious. I ordered the beef fajitas with retried beans and papas con chile. The papas con chile were fantastic. They are like Mexican mashed potatoes. They have cream cheese and sour cream and chilies and cheese and who knows what else in them. They are awesome! The fajitas were good, but nothing really stood out about them. It was a good dining experience, but I would get something else on the next visit. The enchiladas looked really good.

We went there on a Saturday night. Two girls in the front were not so excited to welcome us and were yawning! We were told that it would be 20 min wait but our buzzer went off after 10mjn. Our waiter was really nice and patient. I asked him to take our pic as it was my mon’s birthday and after taking pic he said she would get a free desert from them. We ordered one and we got a different one for free which wasn’t on the menu. Needless to say both deserts were fantastic. Food was good too. We tipped our waiter generously for his awesome service.

Overall it was a good experience. The food is pricy and it isn’t your typical American mexican food. I did like the drinks and the green salsa. It also has a Tex Mex menu so you can get something different other than Mexican food.

Well we went here when we first came to Midland and my family and I were not impressed. The service was good but the food was just Okay, and they really should bring out the salsa in something bigger seriously.

Love this place! Great food, drinks and waitstaff. I like the dip sampler and I always drink the sangria swirl. The steak fajitas, the grande and monterrey platters are all great. I really like the spinach enchiladas too

First time I went, service was great. Friendly waiters and food wasn’t a long wait. Second time the waiter seemed preoccupied and came by two times. I don’t care for people asking me how everything is every 5 minutes but at least stay in the area. Got the Enchiladas and they were fantastic! Papa con Chile are also great.

This place is always delicious. Everyone on here thinks they are top food critics. It’s hilarious and sad. Abuelos kicks ass and maybe they have a mess up once and while. I’m a fan and always go back!

Decided to try out the new location, and what a disappointment. The wait was long, the service was okay and the food was mediocre. We sat on the patio to avoid the long wait. The 3 salsas was cool to try the different flavors, but the chips were so thin, they were in tiny pieces. We ordered the combo fajitas beef and chicken with charro beans and grilled vegetables. We got all beef with no vegetables. So the waiter took our food but left our tortillas to get cold. When the corrected order arrived, the beef was tough and had no flavor. The chicken was dry. The sides were lackluster. I won’t be back.

This is good chips & salsa, good food, good portions, good service, and typical prices for this area. We had to wait a few minutes at noon for a table, but it was worth the wait. Be prepared to pay a whopping $ 3 for tea though. Ouch. I will be drinking water from now on.

Great Food with better service Ordered to go at the bar. Friendly atmosphere. Served by a cheerful young man that brought me chips and salsa to munch on while I waited for my order. The green salsa is amazing. It hits all senses… sweet, hot, acid… it is wonderful. Food delivered quickly. The firecracker shrimp is a must have…

This is NOT authentic Mexican food. It is Tex-Mex. The portion sizes are huge. My meal, The Monterrey, was served to me, on what was basically, a turkey platter. It came with 4 enchiladas, a Chile relleno, a hard taco, rice, beans and papas. The papas are basically mashed potatoes with red and green bell pepper. The food did was not awful, but is in no way fresh. It is a lot of chemical laden sauces. As the food got cold it all developed this weird unnatural sheen, somewhat similar to a shellac. It was mostly the sauces which I just could not make out what they were made of. It seemed like the mashed potatoes would have a very long shelf life, if you know what I mean. If you don’t know what i mean, I’m saying you could scrape them off your plate onto a shelf in your home and enjoy them for sometime. I am sensitive to gluten, not overly, but I can get really sick if I get it, and I’m happy to say I did not get sick eating the enchiladas. I did not eat the Chile relleno because it was breaded. So Yay to that! The restaurant is beautiful. The waitress was fabulous. I have heard they can have ridiculous wait times, and it not worth all that. However, if you can get right in and be seated, and stick to the basics, ie. Fajitas, queso, tacos, you are going to have a pretty great meal. The hostesses were super annoying. I would liken them to a high school clique. They had no idea how long the wait would be. They didn’t give us menus or silverware. I went up to them to get the menus and they said the waitress brought them to us. As I walked away they kept repeating«purple hair, purple hair» over and over. Yes I have purple hair, but I don’t know what that was about. I had to let the waitress know we needed menus and she had to go get them from the hostesses. So I don’t know what the purpose of the 3 girls at the front is. Oh well. I hope this was helpful. I hate typing on my phone.

My husband just moved to Midland so we were looking for good places to eat. His co-workers recommended this restaurant and we were glad they did! A little bit on the pricey end but everything we had was delicious! The queso and guacamole dips were both delicious. The chips were really light. The guac was so fresh! The hubs and I both ordered the steak with enchiladas(beef, carnita, & chicken) with sides of papas and mexican rice. Everything was cooked perfectly. We went around 830pm on a Tuesday night, not too crowded and we got seated right away. Our server was very on top of it. Totally satisfied with our experience, hopefully it’s not just a one time thing. Will be coming back again before I head back to San Diego!

Lovely, clean, delicious TexMex restaurant. Lots of seafood choices along with the various meat entrees. Wish they had another branch in Odessa to shorten waiting time to be seated. Some days it takes about 1& ½ hours wait. Just too long a wait. And they don’t take reservations. Food is excellent though. 4 stars only because of the wait.

Good food. But services questionable. Kept getting the order wrong then get frustrated with us when it was them. Quesadilla with just chicken and cheese and double rice as the sides. How hard is that really? Don’t want secret sauce, don’t want beans. The durango burrito is real good. Shredded beef had lots of flavor. I vote to deep six the pineapple salsa, I like the smokey flavored salsa. Tres leches cake is good too.

Not bad for the food, service was ok but our waitress seemed to have some more important things to do… Also it’s ridiculous that there was a 45 min to 2 hour waiting for dinner in this Tex-Mex restaurant in the middle of nowhere… Well enough complaints. Décor is decent, this place is nice and food is good in large portion. I was hoping to get a margarita but was not able to get it since I did not have the ID with me… I was soooo flattered… but still I want my margarita :( Not bad, but will probably not come back — not worth the long waiting…
