We hadn’t been here for along time because we don’t live in the area anymore. We had lunch here this trip and we were pleased. Service was prompt and attentive. Food was very good and our order came out quick. Prices were okay. Tacos, enchiladas, refried beans, guacamole… all had that classic tex-mex flavor. Very good!

The restaurant was about average when it came to the experience. We got there on a Sunday late afternoon and it wasn’t very busy. We were seated and the guy who came to take our drink orders seemed less than enthused to be there. We got our drinks, and paid for queso and some tortillas(which is something I am still getting used to in Midland — paying for tortillas…) Anyway, it turned out he was not our waiter and when the waitress came over and took our order, it went smoothly and our food came out quickly. Chips — My wife loved the thicker chips, but I thought they were overcooked. This is just a matter of taste, I guess, and I will defer to my wife. Tortillas — About the same as other places — I still don’t like paying for something I am used to being complimentary, and feel the price was not worth the amount of tortillas. Salsa and Queso — I don’t eat salsa, but my wife does. She said it was better than Rosa’s. The queso was good. Nothing special, but good. Dinner: My wife and I both got Fajita Chicken Quesadillas, hers with pico in it and mine with just chicken and cheese. They were small for the price, but they were delicious. I mean, really good. So, at the end, this was an average restaurant, but nothing special for the price($ 40 including tip).

Average food. Tamales are bland. We wanted to like this place especially because they have good hours. Salsa was watery.

Portions are huge, every dish I’ve tried had great flavor! Salsa is always fresh and spicy hot. Atmosphere is nice and relaxing. One of my personal favorites for meeting up with old friends.

I got the chicken tortilla soup, it was 3 stars. My sister & I split the chicken chile relleno, it was 5 stars. The chili relleno was fried with beer batter, it was fried but not too greasy like many chile rellenos. The topping of raisins and pecans was PERFECT! I had a chile relleno like this only once before in Austin, TX and have not found anything like it since. It was very good. It did not come with rice/beans though which I thought was odd? The salsa of this place is not too spicy but it was very good.

Best Mexican food restaurant in Midland. Cheese enchiladas are amazing. I love this place. Went twice and will be back for sure.

Spinach enchiladas are exactly that spinach, however, the sauce was very tasty! Chili Relleno was made with cheap cheese, but was very tasty. I’m sure it would have been much better if we had gotten it while it was hot. The ambiance was wonderful! With a very comfortable dining room and a beautiful atrium. Service was average.

Honestly it was a friendly environment. The servers were great. There were always on top of their game. There was one busser/bar back with glasses that work his a** off. He was very handsome. His drinks were very good, I would recommend that he makes the drinks. I would also recommend asking to sit in Paulina’s section she was a very hard worker and very friendly. I would also recommend trying their famous legendary rellenos with one of their house margaritas. I could honestly say that I was given the best service than any other Mexican restaurant.

One of my all-time favorite classic Midland restaurants! I’ve had the experience of sitting in different«rooms» & areas at this place. I think I like the atmosphere of the atrium the best. The chips & salsa for appetizers are great, just don’t fill up on them, since the best is yet to come! Over 10 years ago, my favorite dish to order was the enchiladas, until the day I tried the chili rellenos. Once I got hooked on their cheese chili rellenos, I realized I never had to look at the menu again! They make their chili relleno sauce with salsa, cheese, sour cream, guacamole, pecans, & raisins – it is sooo sweet & delicious!

Bad food and very pricey. Do not try the Beef fajitas cause they taste pretty bland. I would rather get fajitas from stripes than from here.

I personally love this place. It’s not fancy. The atmosphere is a bit kitsch but very charming. It has an atrium area that I love, an upstairs bar and an inside dining room. The stuffed jalapeño appetizer is one of the best casual Mexican dishes I’ve ever had. They’re filled with cheese, dipped in relleno batter, fried and served in fresh tomato sauce. Very good! Their enchiladas are delicious. The red chili sauce is some of the best I’ve had anywhere. Their salsa and guacamole are fresh and very flavorful. Drinks are good. We have been several times and it’s always delicious. Their chili relleno is served authentic Piccadillo style, with sour cream, raisins and pecans. If you’re in the mood for solid, authentic Mexican you won’t be disappointed.

Great staff! Everyone was so friendly and attentive! Food is a little Americanized, but salsa is delicious and they keep the sweet tea coming! I’d go back if I ever am in Midland again. Met family here and the staff didn’t mind that we were there for 3+ hours and kept coming back to refill our glasses.

Some may pass on this as a typical West Tex Mexican restaurant. Now, that may not be far from the truth. But, I’ll let you in on a not so secret menu item, since it’s highlighted on when you first open the menu. Get the Chile Relleno! I have tried a few other things on the menu, but none can hold a candle to their Relleno. Get it with sour cream, raisins and walnuts on it. You won’t be disappointed. Run, don’t walk… or just drive, but get there now and your mouth will rejoice.

I wasn’t sure at first but the parking lot was filling up fast and people were waiting to get a table. So it looked good so far. I went with friends from church after church. I ordered the fajitas with chicken and steak with onions. Not a fan of onions. The people with me got different combination plates with enchiladas and tacos. All the plates came out at the same time and hot. My plate was done special and it came out perfect. Food is abundant. The taco plate has 3 big tacos and beans on the side. Someone had a taco with enchiladas. That plate could feed 2 people. The salsa went fast and they kept bring more. Salsa also really good. My fajitas were delicious and hot. The spice was great. And the service was probably the best I’ve had around Midland. The waiter and waitress kept coming over and over to make sure our drinks were full and if we needed anything else. On our table there was also 2 kids under 3 years old and they gave them crayons that work and a coloring sheet they could color. They mainly stayed busy and it looks like they loved the food. They treated us all great. I will be back for the service and the food. And the food was authentic.

This place wasn’t at all what my friends had made it seem. They said the nachos and queso were awesome, so that is what I ordered. I had the Combination Fajita Nachos and it was something I feel like I could make better at home. The nachos were over powered with guacamole, sour cream, and rubbery melted cheese. The chicken and steak pieces were dry and the portion was huge! 2 people couldn’t even finish it, but it wasn’t worth taking home. The queso tasted mostly like melted Velveeta cheese. I added my salsa to the queso to make it a little better, but never finished that either and usually I can polish off and bowl of queso. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere was clean. It seemed to be pretty busy for a Friday lunch hour, but I wasn’t impressed. Plus, just a few weeks ago, there was a story on the news of a shooting that took place in the kitchen… classy huh?

The enchiladas are great here! Very authentic. The drink prices are fair compared to most places in town. I will definitely be back for this authentic Mexican food.

I’m not sure what to make of Tex-Mex. I know Mexican food, I make it myself. In regards to the service, my waiter was on point and even entertaining. Brought me some cheese dip to woo me, to like tex-mex. The salsa had good flavor, and the chips fresh. The carne asada was presented as a steak and cake with a taco, maybe I should have ordered the tacos. The steak was ok. When I order a strawberry margarita I do not intend ever to find a cherry or a small slice of lemon. The price was pretty darn high. Think I’ll be trying Rosa’s next time.

I’ve tried the La Bodega in Odessa and didn’t like the food. Then I went to the one in Midland for a going away party for a coworker and was not expecting anything good. There was about 15 of us. We made reservations and they only had 1 server for the lunch hour. They give you huge portions, but personally I had better mexican/spanish food.
