This is a restaurant that I would not stop at had I not Unilocalped it. From the out side it is old and run down, however the literally 50 cars in the parking lot might entice over to stop. The food is the best thing about the restaurant. The server was carry and rolled her eyes at us(maybe because we are not Texans) at several occasions. However, she didn’t get anything wrong and asked us several times if we needed anything else. So why 4 stars. Because the owner should try to stay on top of things. The food was great but try to at least have chairs that are covered. This place would be closed if the employees had the same work ethic as the owner, they clearly make money put some back into your business.

Great breakfast. All the locals were eating here. The pancakes, French toast and breakfast burritos were 5 star. Awesome Texas café.

Pancakes are magical. I don’t know why or how they are so superior to any other pancake I’ve eaten but all I know is that pancakes have been ruined for me forever because nothing could ever compete with the wonderfulness that are Main Street’s pancakes. Besides that, this restaurant is a taste of old school Midland. The servers treat you like you’re a regular even if it’s your first time. The general atmosphere is home-y and warm even when it’s super busy. I don’t live in Midland anymore, and I really miss it. This place is the only hole-in-the-wall diner that I would really recommend in Midland. And I mean, the rest of Midland seems to agree because there’s never really a time when I’ve driven by and the parking lot isn’t totally full.

I spotted this café not long ago and could tell by all the vehicles in the lot it probably worth trying and boy am I glad I did! Apparently Main Street Diner has been around forever but somehow slipped under my radar! This restaurant reminds me of small town diners but this one is in the city. It’s a very large open space with ceiling fans and tables adorned with advertisements from local companies under the glass top. I could tell all the waitresses knew their stuff and I got service immediately! The menu was basic fare and affordable and I could tell I was going to be disappointed. I got the bacon and eggs plate with crispy hash browns(fresh not from a bag) and a biscuit and gravy. The food was almost at my table immediately before I had taken a few sips of my coffee! It was good! The perfect down home country place I had been looking for! The best part? All that food, coffee and an extra large milk came out to be a little over $ 9! Can’t beat that! A must stop!

Went here on a whim. Great little hometown breakfast joint. Service is a tad slow but not too bad. Food is solid.

The Main Street Diner now does not allow smoking at all. That is great for me who doesn’t smoke and doesn’t want to smell like it(although even when they did allow smoking the ventilation was good enough it wasn’t terrible.) I had a stew meat burrito and pancakes for breakfast recently and they were both very good. For lunch recently they had a salisbury steak special but it was not as good as it should be. It was a tough, breaded chicken-fried beef patty covered with gravy and onions. Any other«salisbury steak» I have ever had has just been a ground beef patty(hamburger steak) and that was what I was expecting. This has been the only thing I have ever had there which was not good. If I order this special again I will just double-check that what they serve for salisbury steak is a non-breaded ground beef patty. When I have ordered this there as «hamburger steak» it was always great.

I don’t know nor do I want to know why but for whatever reason the plain(bacon/egg/cheese or sausage/egg/cheese) burritos are the best I have ever had. Salsa is perfectly complimentary. I usually want a more fancy breakfast burrito but whatever they are doing is awesomeness.

Being an avid fan of the TV show«Heroes,» it was mandatory for me to find a greasy spoon diner in Midland, TX when I realized I’d be passing through. The atmosphere here is pure Texas — complete with flanel-clad, cowboy hat-wearing patrons stopping by to get their fix of home style cooking. The fare is typical diner food, burgers and fries, and the taste was great. The service was exceptional, and the nice waitress even had the cooks whip me up something that wasn’t on the menu(I had a hankering for a Turkey Melt) which was delicious. The fries tasted like they were fried in cottonseed oil, for that maximum potato taste, which I don’t really care for but recognize that folks will appreciate. The tap water was bad, but I can’t fault them for the city’s supply. All in all, it was an enjoyable meal. Score one for Midland, score one for my belly! I recommend stopping by this quaint little hole-in-the-wall I’d you’re ever in town.
