This place is on the short list of hidden gems in Midland. Not even a lot of locals know it’s there. Everything is excellent. The half(or whole) chicken is amazing.

Best place! Stopped in on our way through Texas! Highly recommend this place. We had the chicken tacos and chicken quesadillas, AMAZING. Best Tex Mex around!!! Will stop by again if I have a chance!

My favorite little dive lunch place in Midland. I have not had anything bad here yet. The tacos are usually my go to and the green sauce makes them awesome. The grilled chicken is great too. A good cheap dinner.

My wife and I found this place almost by accident a little over a year ago. I was driving her around town showing her places I used to go as a young man when I noticed that an old dive bar had become a taco stand. The tacos here are simply perfect. Your choices are limited — chicken or carne asada on corn tortillas with onion, cilantro, and lime. What they lack in variety they more than make up for on flavor and quality. They also have a small salsa bar with some very basic options, all of which are great.(The picked onions… oh my Lord!) The tostada grande is also a winner, though I personally prefer the seasoning on the pollo aside tacos. Seriously, get down to Wall Street and check this place out.

Why isn’t this place busier? It took a long time to open but I am impressed for a midland restaurant. I ordered to go so don’t know about service inside but it was very quick drive thru. Ordered the Carne asada tacos and was shocked to see 5 street tacos for $ 8.50! Dressed nicely and did not spare on meat and toppings. Very fresh onions and cilantro. Will definitely be going back.

I thoroughly enjoy authentic Mexican cuisine so when I came across Rio Grande I wanted to taste their fare. I love their chicken. It’s seasoned excellently and prepared as if it just came out of the grill, which it did. Adding to this, the portion sizes are acceptable. The cashiers are nice people and speak both Spanish and English fluently. Even though I am Mexican-born, I am American raised which makes me Chicano of some flavor and I like not feeling obligated to speak Spanish just because I came into a Mexican restaurant. I didn’t feel that way here, nor did I feel out of place. Overall, I returned here again(I live only two miles north of the location) and was not disappointed. The ribs, by the way, are excellent and must be tried. Don’t think this place is only about the chicken. It may be the star of the show but the supporting cast makes a grand appearance.

My boyfriend told me this place was amazing and the spicy chicken was to die for. So I had to try it. We ordered a whole chicken, carne asada quesadilla, and watered down horchata for about $ 30. The portion size was pretty decent, it fed three people. The quesadillas were buttery good, but chicken on the other hand was pretty salty. I’ll be back for the quesadillas :)

Great authentic Mexican cuosine. I don’t know where the owners are from but everything in the menu reminded me of my hometown Monterrey Mexico. Delicious chicken accompanied of an even more delicious green salsa. Burgers taste like nothing you’ve ever tasted before and the loaded potatoes are enormous. Only negative I found was the restrooms. They could definitely be improved. Also, the ribs are not a traditional Mexican plate and it shows at this place. Our rack was over cooked and so greasy. Definitely going back everytime were in midland.

Chicken was delicious. Portions are generous size. Definitely hitting up this spot again. My husband loved the green chilli. Don’t forget to pour the lime over the chicken. Beans and rice was good too. Horchata a plus.
