Always have a great meal here and the wait staff is very attentive. Highly recommend the Honey Shrimp.

Probably the best hot and sour soup I’ve had in Richmond. Especially good if you’re not feeling well. I just wish it came in a larger container but it’s still really good.

I’ve been eating at Yen Ching for years and it is my absolute favorite Chinese restaurant. The restaurant is spotless, the customer service is always stellar, and the food is delicious. If I have one complaint it’s that it’s a little pricey for dinner. If you stop in for lunch; however, it’s an excellent value. You get portions as large as the dinner size for a lot less money. In my opinion, the stars of their menu is the Five Taste Chicken and the Crispy Honey Chicken. The Five Taste Chicken isn’t available at any of the other Chinese restaurants I’ve visited in the area and it is delicious.

If I could leave negative stars for their take out I would… I’m beyond annoyed. Ordered a shrimp roll with NOSHRIMP! Not to mention its soaked in oil with a mush consistency on the inside. The sweet and sour chicken is yet another hot mess. The sauce comes in a separate container which doesn’t look appetizing so that«the chicken doesn’t get soggy.» It was already soggy without the sauce. I would have been better off going to a rink a dink Chinese hole in the wall and would have paid WAYLESS then what I paid for this shitty food.

I’ve been eating at the Hull St Yen Ching for 20+ years and the food is AWESOME! It’s my go-to place. Clean restaurant and high quality food. Only thing, I wish they’d do brown rice.

As delivery chinese food goes I have never had any that compares with Yen Ching. The food is delicious. My favorite is the general tsos chicken, its crispy and wonderful, the chili and the little strips of ginger and garlic. Just wonderful. The chicken wraps are delicious. however I wish they used something other than iceberg(i always switch it out with my romaine once it arrives). The eggrolls are tasty and the soups have been great. This is my entire families goto chinese place. We love it. The only thing that has been a loser among all of us is the spareribs. Normally a family favorite, none of us like the ones from here. Tried a couple times, to see if it was a hit or miss thing but its been a miss every time. Dont let that stop you from ordering from here though, just pass on the ribs. :)

For take out – good food not but large portions and pretty pricey and not in great part of town. Sit down meals are much better if you’re going to spend that kind of money. Very clean restaurant. Great service. Like one on Hull Street not one on Midlothian Tpk although food is great in both places. Restaurant too old on 60.

Perhaps my five-star rating is high, but this is the first Chinese restaurant that I ever ate at, and I’ve been coming here ever since I was a baby. Throughout the years it is still just as good as it ever was, despite many menu changes, and despite my evolving taste buds. The staff are friendly, and the restaurant is normally quiet. A recent favorite of mine is their Honey Chicken, which previously was a menu item only at night, but I find their lunch portion to be more than enough food for me.

Very disappointing experience. Ate her many years ago and it was wonderful. Today the food was bland, all swimming in sauce that was non-descript and boring. But the gigantic fail… Was the«pancakes» for the Mu Shu Pork. They served us Mexican flour tortillas instead of the classic thin rice pancake. When asked about it the server just shrugged. Never going back. Sad.

Our party of 4 went here on Christmas Eve. Two of our party are regulars here, I’d been one other time. ITWASINSANEBUSY on this night. We had about a 45 minute wait. I don’t feel I can give a genuine review of more than my meal because it was so crazy. I ordered the Crispy Orange Shrimp. By the time I got my meal I was almost malnourished. So I woofed down every bite even though it really had no real spicy flavor to it. I did taste orange, but that was about it. The portion was decent, as I said, I ate it all. It was very loud, but again, it was super busy. I doubt that I’d go out of my way to eat here again. Not that it was really bad, it’s out of my way and I wasn’t overly impressed.

The service was fabulous. Amazing beef and broccoli. Incredible Kung Pao chicken. The Lo Mein noodles reminded us of the ones we ate in China. We had a very positive dining experience and we would highly recommend it.

Ordered take out — hot and sour soup, an egg roll, Kung pao chicken w/fried rice and vegetable lo mein. Quality of food was great, better than most Chinese restaurants. Everything definitely tasted fresh. My only real complaint is that I asked for my chicken to be extra spicy, and it wasn’t even close. Soup was great, egg roll was perfect, and the lo mein was also pretty good.

We had driven by Yen Ching’s several times a week for the last four years wondering if it was any good. So, on a whim one day, we decided to find out. Wow, I wish we had checked it out sooner. Great place. Bright, clean, and spacious. The wait staff were extremely good and professional. The food was some of the best we have had in Midlothian. We have tried several restaurants and finally settled on Inter China on Midlothian Tpk., but this place beats them. I had the Kung Pao chicken and it was very good and my wife had chicken with broccoli and enjoyed it. The meal included egg rolls and we both noticed that they were less greasy than most places we have visited. We had lunch which has a limited menu, but we asked about the dinner menu and were shown a menu. Very extensive and we plan to return soon.

After reading about the different regions of China that are represented here on the restaurants website, I thought this might be a bit more authentic than the typical«American-Chinese» most of us are used to, so I surprised my Chinese girlfriend, who is from Hong Kong, and took her here for dinner tonight. The restaurant itself looks pretty neat. The exterior is fancy, and we were seated in the back area which was almost entirely windowed overlooking a grassy section and the street. It was actually pretty nice, visually. Though the icicle-style Christmas lights hanging at the tops of the windows seemed a little tacky and the tables were really close together. Although there was only one other couple seated in that section, we were seated right next to them, maybe only three feet away. This was a little awkward as I felt I had to whisper to respect the other diners. The music was some tasteful classical music. Moonlight Sonata and the like. My girlfriend stated, after careful inspection, that the menu appeared to be a mix of some authentic items and some things that typical Americans would expect at a Chinese restaurant. We ordered the steamed vegetable dumplings, the crispy chicken, and the double fried hot pork. We both asked for white rice when given the option of white or fried, but our waiter brought one white and one fried, which he quickly apologized for and replaced. The food is presented family style with serving spoons, so you can order a mix of entrees and share. Regardless, I enjoyed it all. The vegetable dumplings were far beyond(in a good way) my expectations. I think they may have been made fresh, as they took slightly over 15 minutes to prepare(a fact our waiter politely warned us about before we ordered). However, they were worth the wait. The filling was very good. I’ve had crispy chicken before at a certain buffet I frequent, but this was far superior. It was crispy yet still edible, while the buffet version I had more resembled super tough leather. The flavor felt superior as well. The double fried hot pork was a first for me so I don’t have much to compare it to, but it was really good, though I didn’t think it was hot(even remotely) at all, it still had good flavor, just not the kind that you’d think of as spicy unless you have absolutely no heat tolerance. The staff was very friendly, although not very talkative. Our waiter did mess up on the rice, and refilled my Dr Pepper with Pepsi, but both times I brought it to his attention and he very quickly resolved the situation. We’ll be coming back to try the ma po tofu and the Singapore fried noodles soon.

One of the better Chinese restaurants in the Richmond area. It’s either, IMO either #2 or #3. It’s really good. This location is at Genito and Hull area. I have been missing eating Chinese food and need to eat here more often. The Orange Chicken is good, I have the Shrimp and scallops however most every time… my fav in most every Chinese restaurant.

This Chinese restaurant is definitely one of the better ones in my opinion. The food here definitely has a better flavor than most Chinese restaurants that I have been to. Its a little more expensive then the ones you see in most shopping centers but it wont break the bank. I ordered the Crab Rangoon, beef with broccoli and sesame beef. The Crab Rangoon was delicious. Not too cream cheesy or sweet. The beef and broccoli was just as good. The broccoli was crunchy and fresh and the beef was tender and full of flavor. But the sesame beef was oh so good. Its not saucy like General Tso’s Chicken, its like a glaze on deep fried beef. Man this was such a good dish. I would definitely recommend it to anyone. The service was good. The waiter checked on us periodically and always refilled our waters. Very attentive but not too talkative. The overall experience of the restaurant was a good one. I’ll definitely eat here again

I’ve eaten in the restaurant twice and had take-out once. Overall, I’d say it’s decent Chinese food though I’ve found it to be a little greasy, especially the stir-fried vegetables.
