The meat on their pulled pork sandwich was a little dry but tasted good. Last time I was here, the barbecue sauce was steaming hot… this time it was not. The pork ribs were average, some of them the meat fell off the bone, some of them it didn’t. Service was not overly friendly but young know-it-all types. I’ve moved on after three trips here to search for better BBQ somewhere else. The sides we ordered were Caesar salad which was so tiny in a miniature cup and fried okra which seemed undercooked.

Just thought the food was over priced. Not eoungh meat for the 3 meat platter. 13 bucks for 2 ribs, 2 little briskets and spoon full of chicken. Lmao. The meat was all dry. Like it’s been sitting out all day. I wanted a refund but we had take out. Lol. Well the beans were good lol.

Dickey’s frustrates me. I feel it was good once(not great, but good) but I feel like this location has gone downhill. I mean, it’s fast-good BBQ so you’re not expecting much… Unfortunately the meat tastes like it’s been sitting there too long. It is even cold at times. The sides are okay. The potato salad has WAY too much dill. The Mac and cheese is very good, but I’m easy(spread that around, will you?) Oh…and the baked potato casserole is fantastic. I could eat that by the bucket load. I’m not sure I’d ever consent to eat at Dickey’s if it weren’t for that.

So, I first tried Dickie’s a year ago and have been a number of times now. There is a little difference depending on the location but mainly with the employees and not the food. This is one of my favorite locations; the workers have always been pleasant and fast. When I’m going here it’s usually because I don’t want fast food buy I want fast food, if you know what I mean. All there meats have always been good and tender. My favorite is always pulled pork buy they’re all good, even the ribs. The side dishes are great, my favorite is the potato casserole with the cheese and chives and the barbecue beans. I free ice cream cones are OK, wouldn’t write home about it though.(I’d only write about it on Unilocal,ha, ha). The other nice thing, if you like to save money, is you can get Dickie’s gift cards and Costco or Sam’s and save a little bit of money, I think 30%, that always comes in handy. I also like going to this locations because it’s never very crowded(don’t know if that’s a good sign) Overall there good but I’ve had better.

This is easily the worst I’ve had from this chain, but I find that encouraging. Before you wonder if they spiked my drink(too soon?), the reason why is that this chain is trending hot right now and if the execution as as slovenly and poor as it was here, then that speaks volumes to the flavor of the food, which is very good. Again, Dickey’s is a very good and well-scalable barbeque chain that, even at a place like this, solely staffed, from what I could tell, by people who didn’t want to be there, you can still get a respectable meal. What this means is that when I take it on the road, the mounting evidence I’m collecting for this chain points to it being a reliable chain at which to eat. As for this particular location, though, serving cold meats of this type is inexcusable, as my spicy cheddar sausage, brisket and ribs and my wife’s pulled pork and ribs all were. Yes, I get that the bbq sauce is heated, but that doesn’t excuse this kind of poor execution, which really downgrades both the flavors and the experience. This doesn’t happen at bbq places that actually care. That the flavors were still intact and quite good was really what saved this from being a truly disappointing meal and, of course, the biscuits, okra and beans were as spot-on as ever. One thing of note that I disliked was the interior. Now I know that this used to be an old Verizon store, but the communal-esque seating is a serious drag and made most of the time we spent there uncomfortable. I think they would be well-served to gut the place and start over with redecoration, then find some staff who actually care.

Our service was good, but our cashier wasn’t sure how to ring up our order. No biggie. They honored our punch card and gave us a free drink. The food tasted really good, but the beef brisket had so much fat on it. I picked out a HUGE pile of fat, probably about ¼ of my order. I would think it could be trimmed off before it’s chopped. Besides that. Everything was fine. Free ice cream. Yum!

The portion sizes a great, but the meat tasted more like what you would get in a grocery store. The Sauces I did not like at all, they are all heavy vinegar flavored ones, only 3 choices of sauce and they all where a big let down. The price I felt was a tad high, but acceptable, and the service was quick, but the table where all dirty and the tables themselves where covered in material from the 60’s, not good. With everything considered I would definitely go to Famous Dave’s instead of Dickey’s, its only 2 blocks away from here.

First time ever at a Dickey’s. Was craving bbq but with a husband at work, I didn’t wanna drag 3 kids into a sit down place like Famous Dave’s. I ordered to go and i was relieved that the workers were so helpful! My 6 year old son kept changing his order but they graciously waited on him. They even threw in some extra sausage in his kids meal because he couldn’t make up his mind on whether to get that or the pulled pork sandwich. While getting all of ours drinks together, they brought out our order hot and fresh. My kids enjoyed every bite and lick of their fingers when we got home.

Place seems to be going downhill. The meats seems really old and reheated. Not much business at this location anymore. I drive by this location all of the time and the parking lot is always empty. I don’t see them surviving for much longer.

Fast-food bbq. Better than McD’s, not as good as «real» bbq, but does the trick. Our group shared an XL family platter. It’s a good deal: about $ 50 with enough food for the 7 of us. The chopped pork and brisket were both pretty good. Nothing to write home about, but pretty good. The ribs were surprisingly bad, with a weird flavor to them. As frugal as I am, I wouldn’t eat these if they were given to me. They went to waste. The sides were all pretty good: waffle fries(nice, though some were undercooked), mac & cheese(generic, cheese-out-of-a-can style), baked beans(the best of the sides we got), and coleslaw(it was coleslaw … that’s pretty much it). The rolls are quite tasty. Free ice cream! It’s not great, but hey — it’s free! Bottom line: Not the place to go if you’re looking for«real» bbq, but a nice change-up from the regular lunch places.

Thanks friend for the coupon to Dickeys! Really, it was a nice gesture and the last time we ate there it was pretty good and the service was excellent. But… that has changed. Apparently the high cost of Obamacare to businesses or the astounding zombification of people with retail skills has taken its toll on this poor establishment. I seriously timed how long it was that we stood at the ordering counter, with 2 employees occasionally glancing at us, one on the phone, before they asked us if we would like to order, or acknowledged us in anyway. Just shy of 2 minutes. If you don’t think that’s very long. Then just sit there and wait for a single minute imaging that you’re hungry — you’ll go crazy. There was another employee tending to straws and napkins and such, also aware that we were waiting but making no effort to get us some help or welcome us. OK, so far just annoying. We had no idea the value of the gift card we were given, bad on our friend, but surely the staff would be able to check the value, right?. Nope! We were told by everyone that the system doesn’t allow them to see the value of a card until the order is placed. Hmmm. OK, also annoying and not too big of a deal. So, we ordered and sat down in the sparsely populated restaurant.(Three other people were there at 7:30 pm… not a good sign.) As hoped for, the food was actually pretty good. Nothing to cross town for, but still a good value for the price and served hot with delicious sauces to go with the BBQ meat. We had the pulled pork and sliced brisket which came in adequate portions. The sides were also quite good. As we enjoyed our food the employee who was obsessed with cleaning swept all around the dining floor making a fairly substantial garbage pile behind us as we ate. We were willing to accept most of these backwards practices since the food was acceptable, but then the employee decided he must get the floor under our feet swept up… while we were sitting there eating! He actually pushed the broom between my feet as I was taking a bite. That was the straw that broke the camel’s back. Not sure I’ll be back until I get some news that something in the management of this place has been upgraded! I’m being generous with the 2nd star because of the food — the service really should get ½ star.

I wanted meat. I wish I hadn’t. We were helped by a quiet guy who was alone at the time. The phone was ringing, other people were in line, he had his hands full. I got the 2 meat with the mashed potatoes and green beans. The sides were far far far from fresh. The meat was abhorrent. I wanted chopped brisket, what I got was meat pudding. I asked for rolls, they were out and had to cook some. I waited, nothing came. Eventually I saw other patrons with rolls but I’m not going up to the counter to beg again. Chains are chains I guess. I should know better.

I got the 2 meat special. Kind of pricy for the amount $ 11.20 not including the drink. Polish sausage was good but the sliced brisket was very dry. It needed a lot of barbecue sauce. The sides were okay, baked potato casserole and green beans. The green beans were probably the best thing of the meal. Overall not very impressed.

If you’re craving a McRib and McDonald’s isn’t selling them this quarter, Dickey’s is for you. For a barbecue place with a storied past and reputation, this is awful. Compared to a McRib, they give McDonald’s serious competition. The food is always lukewarm and the meats taste like they’ve been smoke flavored ether than spending any time in a smoker. The sides all sound interesting but they all disappoint. Their three bbq sauces are ok, but they all have the same tired base taste and are way too runny for the style. A plus side, they’re blazing hot so if you drown your meat with sauce and eat quick… Free ice cream cones keep the place full of families with kids. They have Coke products in expensive plastic cups that they imagine people will bring back for refills on future visits.

Despite their funny name and ways to make fun/horrible nickname for them, their barbecue actually was not too bad. This particular Dickey is located in the Family Center on Fort Union and can be somewhat hidden behind a Chili if you are not looking. Price is the same across the chain in Utah, and the meat quality was about the same as their other locations. For good deals, the daily special always comes with drink, and they have free ice cream, which is another perks for kids and they eat free on Sunday. The fried sides are always freshly prepared. The price-to-portion ratio is really good for this area especially when compared with the other Texas BBQ chain store nearby and even that restaurant owned by Dave down the street.

Average BBQ selection but not very BBQ taste or quality in my opinion. Maybe it was just the night we went, but they ran out of pulled pork, the wait was really long and the staff didn’t seem to know much about the food or the restaurant. I ended up having to get my second choice, the turkey, and it tasted like I could have bought it at the grocery store deli. The sides were average, the roll however was good. The atmosphere is casual, plenty of seating and good for kids. Probably won’t be going back, seems like there are lots of other BBQ option in the SL valley.

I like this place. I like the ribs, the roll, the baked beans, and the green beans. And it’s just an outright bribe having a soft serve machine and free ice cream cones! I’ll take that bribe…

Not crazy about this restaurant. I like the ice cream cone you can help yourself to after you’re done with your meal but I didn’t really like the potato salad side and the BBQ sandwich was just ok, maybe a little dry. Not a big fan, but prices are okay!
