I have always loved the food here. The grilled artichoke is something that dreams are made of, however this morning as I was pulling into Burger King for a healthy breakfast, I saw something that raised a red flag for me. It was just after 8AM. I look over and a lady is unlocking the back door, I’m assuming to get the day started. She had a black lab-type dog with her. I’m thinking«oh no, a dog?» She opened the door, let the dog in and shut the door behind her. Really? A dog at a restaurant? How unsanitary is that! I love the food, but after seeing this, I will not come back. Unless you want a steak with a side of black dog hair, steer clear. I’m sending this to them via a Facebook message since there is no email addy on their website. I’ll update this when(if) I get a response.

Not an epic success! We haven’t been in years and the food was worse than we remembered. Mediterranean pesto pasta special was oily and flavorless and the Caesar salad arrived as entire lettuce leaves drizzled with dressing.

Had dinner here last night. Service and atmosphere was great. Food was kinda plain but very expensive for what you get. Menu is very limited

The entrees were good, but unremarkable.(Thai pasta and Ahi Tuna) The hummus was fishy. The olive tapanade was good. Now the negative… Finding a hair in my wine, by drinking it and it ending up my mouth, is one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had! And bad enough someone else’s hair ended up in my mouth, our inattentive waitress barely even acknowledged it! No apology, no effort to make it right… What is this place about? Add that to the fact that I was completely finished with my meal before our waitress checked back on us(and she never asked if it was ok or prepared to our liking) and I leave this experience not really caring to ever come back. Not a great experience.

Ok I think this place had a chef at one point and left but they still try to cook his food but it doesn’t quite come out the way it should. At least thats how the food tastes cause i don’t really know if thats the story. Chicken marsala was dry. Shrimp dish was bland. Most dishes were left half way full. I liked the flat breads and the ceased salad. The service was really attentive but weird to be asked if we want him to add gratuity. Nice to have live music. But the food lacks flavorings like a high end Denny’s.

Wasn’t impressed with Epic. We went there for Valentine’s and I felt like our waitress didn’t much care for us. She was a bit buggy and just didn’t do anything to warm up to us. Maybe it was because of the business of the night or some other reason, but still no excuse. We also didn’t like the fact that they didn’t offer a complimentary roll or bread or something to whet our appetite. The food was good though. I thoroughly enjoyed my beef tenderloin. The flavors were on point! My wife enjoyed her angel hair pasta as well. My biggest issue was that the service just didn’t meet up to the price. Our experience wasn’t terribly special, and I would be hard pressed to find myself back there again. I guess I wouldn’t be against giving it another go though, as I did enjoy the food.

We came on a busy night. Our server was very friendly and upbeat. We really wanted to like our experience but unfortunately the pork medallion came out room temperature and really didn’t taste good at all. Fish Tacos were great but I’d put then at a $ 13 value at best, not the $ 17 that they were priced at. Flatbread was tasty and way more than a party of 2 could eat. Perfect for a party of 4. The cheesecake tasted old and definitely not house made.

Love this place for dinner, I usually get the ahi tuna or salmon. Good wine selection and they have a couple beers I like too. Staff is always helpful and very approachable.

I don’t like to give bad reviews to locally owned restaurants but this place needs a reality check. I don’t really comment/rate on atmosphere or service because I’m all about the food. Unfortunately this place falls short. They have some good ideas for dishes but they are just not well executed. Fettuccine pasta was overcooked and sauce was over salted. Also, tried a risotto special that was undercooked. Flatbread was decent on one visit then it was like cardboard the second time. Based on the inconsistency of reviews, my guess is that the Owner/Chef has too many irons in the fire with his other restaurants(Hoof & Vine, Tiburon and Wild Rose) and isn’t able to maintain quality here.

Had dinner here last night and every time I come, I am impressed with the food. I brought out of town guests and they were very impressed as well. I called to make a reservation and they were very friendly and helpful. I always start with the chicken, cheese flatbread– it is one of my favorite dishes. We also had the Crab cakes and they were amazing. I love Market Street’s crabcakes, they’ve always been my favorites, these ae very different but soooo good. I had the ahi for dinner and the risotto was crisp on the outside and tender on the inside. I wasn’t really fond of the peanut sauce, but it is likely a personal preference. The live music was the icing on the cake, loved it for a Wednesday night. Nice touch. As a place to go mid-valley, this is a fantastic choice!

I ordered something in the menu called«pork medallions.» I have eaten them elsewhere and they were round cuts of pork, like pork chops. Not here. These were small scraps of pork like you would have in a pork sandwich. There were few of them, buried under a huge mound of fried onions. There were some things that looked like halved potatoes, but I couldn’t recognize the taste. Finalized with some greens that might have been artichokes. This dinner, with a Coke, cost $ 28.58. The Coke was good; the rest a disaster.

This place is always almost full. Apparently the dim main front signage poses no problem for the patrons. I think because it is one of the more well-known sort-of fine dining place in Midvale area. You know, despite the name. I do like the ambience inside. It feels classy. Probably due to the lightings, taking the attention away from the unglamorous piece of plain paper they use to cover the tables. They even have an acoustic guitar player strumming soft tunes in the background, which is a nice touch. Unfortunately, I think the food is not as epic. Not saying that they are bad, but just not impressive enough. — Crab Cakes appetizer is oily and tasted the same like any store-bought crab cakes, which makes 11 dollar for two pieces feels expensive. — House made Hummus flatbread is delicious and serving is generous for 4-dollars. Recommended. — Thai Pasta is decent. Large portion but after about 17 bites, it starts to taste bland. Makes a good next day left-over though. — Ahi Tuna is good although the tuna is smaller than in the photos. This is one dish I would order again. — Wahoo Fish Tacos is also a bit on the bland side. I like the sides though. — Sauteed Pacific White Shrimp would do better as a smaller plate appetizer. Too heavy with toasted coconut overpowering everything else. The fact that the place is popular makes me curious. Is it solely because of the ambience? Location? Or because of the Groupon deal? In general, I feel the menus has lack of taste. There are not much selections in the menu, so after 2 – 3 visits, you can pretty much taste most of them. There are definitely restaurants with better food out there. You know, unless you insist on that live acoustic music.

Wasn’t impressed. My husband and I went here for our anniversary dinner(wanted some quality food and wanted to try somewhere new). First, the food. I ordered the tenderloin(which came out cold) and it was most definitely not«epic». I would expect such a steak from Chili’s at $ 14, not from Epic at $ 24. Even though it came with a reduction sauce, the meat itself was bland and boring. If you’re going to get a steak here, get the tenderloin(my husband ordered this): it has pretty good flavor(more to do with the cut of meat than with how it was cooked) and is only $ 19. The mashed potatoes(which were also cold) tasted like instant and the vegetable mix(again, cold) was something akin to a frozen veggie bag at the grocery store with mushrooms thrown in. The flatbread, however, was exceptional. We ordered the Chicken with White Cheddar and Cranberries and loved it! Second, the environment. I understand that this restaurant is «casual», but they had butcher paper on the tables and the staff was all in t-shirts.If we’re paying $ 20 a plate, we expect some sort of refinement, even if it is casual. Third, the service. The hostess was very quick to seat us. Once seated it took 20 minutes for anyone to even acknowledge us, and it wasn’t even our waiter. A nice busboy saw that we had been siting there for a while, got drinks for us, and fetched our waiter. The waiter looked unkempt and annoyed. He took our order, delivered the food, and we didn’t see him again until we asked someone if we could get our check. The only reason I gave this«epic» place 2 stars instead of 1 is because of the flatbread.

Totally bummed at this place. Went in with a great attitude. Wife and I met a big group. There is nothing«Epic» about this place. It is definitely 3 dollar signs, not two. The live music was the highlight. Bland food and HORRIBLY overpriced. I really think the good reviews on here are fake. At 6:30pm the dining room was less than 25% full… and never got busier… bad sign. This place tries really hard to come off special, but maybe its just a young chef or something bc nothing at out table was noteworthy… quite the opposite. Crab cakes for appetizer. Hey, pretty good, but only TWO and SMALL. $ 11 for crab cakes? Not nearly worth it. Friends gave us some flat bread and humus and it was a Costco cheeseybread quality. My pork«medallions» were thinly sliced, dry, tough, pork chops. The veggies looked like a frozen bag, of which I could barely eat the broccoli. Au gratin potatoes were solid, but how can you mess those up. Very disappointing for this $ 17 entrée. My pregnant wife absolutely hated her fish tacos. She made me drop my review from 2 stars to 1 star. She didnt even eat the second taco. Dry, bland, and $ 16. Again, just embarrassingly overpriced. But I wouldnt pay ANYTHING for bad food… and it really was that bad. Friends had the chicken salad and did not have anything good to say. Ironically, the images look great and the presentation is solid, too. Service not bad. But man, after tip we were out over $ 60 and felt ripped off. Avoid this place. It will probably not be around much longer, anyway. Read my other reviews and you’ll see that I’m not a total hater.

Love the ambiance, didn’t care for the service or the same flat bread served with 3 of the 6 items ordered one being dessert. After being sat down promptly the server approached our table talked so fast didn’t know what she was trying to say and then she walked off. Then she came back and asked what we wanted to drink? Once the food was coming out waters went unfilled, and were ignored until she came asking us what we wanted for dessert. The apple crisp sounded great until it came out on flat bread with a slice of apple and some ice cream in the middle. Not sure I would like to go back, surprised how packed the place was for having so-so food except for the crab cakes those were pretty good.

Casual? Not really. Epic? Nah. I mean, it’s good and all, just not«epic» good. So this place is more casual than Tiburon(the seats are less uncomfortable, among other things), but it’s still pretty upscale. The food is good with some unique flavors, but the menu is pretty small — as are the portions. For this price, I would like to see less empty space on my plate, you know? We enjoyed our experience both times we came, but weren’t overly impressed.

Solid 4 stars. They make some delicious fish tacos and an amazing Arnold Palmer. If you’re nice, they’ll let you order one fish and one steak taco. Mmm mmm! Great atmosphere and great service Perfect for lunch or a casual date.

Excellent food! The service was excellent, too. Dining partner ordered the pork medallions and ate every single thing on his plate and raved about the flavor. I had the smoked salmon flatbread appetizer, but it was enough — more than enough for a meal. It was delicious. The place was absolutely crowded and the service was still great. Live music that was fantastic, which I find is rare. Absolutely everything was perfect. Braden’s service was beyond wonderful. Seriously, I would highly recommend this place!
