We’ve eaten at the other located a few miles north of this location and enjoyed our food there; This one didn’t disappoint.
We visited on a Wednesday night and were seated right away. Our drinks came quickly and were refilled when they were low.
Servers were very cheerful and helpful.
My husband got the executive, cutler crunch and the Vegas roll. I got the Rocky Mountain (new favorite) and the hot night roll. My husband wasn’t the biggest fan of the executive roll despite others great reviews, but he enjoyed the other 2.
Only reason 5 stars wasn’t given was because the presentation wasn’t too impressive. We eat our rolls quickly enough that it’s not too big of a deal.
Will definitely return again!

If giving no stars was an option or a negative star I would have chosen that. I got the worst food poisoning I’ve ever had from eating there yesterday. Not only will I never go back there but I don’t think I’ll eat sushi again. Took forever to get our rolls and then on top of that I get the Hershey squirts and I get to puke my guts out, if that sounds good to you then head on down!

If I could give half a star I would. How this place has such great reviews is beyond me. The rolls are a joke. Servers didn’t understand anything I asked for. Won’t be coming back to this place ever.

All amazing! My only complaint is that o need me drink refilled. We will come again!

The we quality of the rolls were a 2 star at best… I prefer the one off 90th the sushi wasn’t fresh and the sauces was laid too thick.

I’ve always loved the Vegas and Honolulu rolls from ichiban. This ichiban has better service and a more laid back environment than their original on 3300 south state. Very enjoyable, the only thing I would watch is how they serve the wine. I ordered a Pinot Noir, it was brought to me brown and lumpy. When I confronted about this not being the wine I ordered they stated it was in fact a Pinot. Obviously it was a cheap expired wine…

With all the good reviews, I was disappointed and wasn’t impressed with this place. We ordered the deep fried crawfish, mussel shooters and egg drop soup for appetizers. Besides the soup, they were the last things to come out after our sushi. They were the highlight of my meal. All the sushi rolls were sub par. My cousin had ordered two rolls with that creamy sauce they had and I swear it looks and taste just like condensed milk. She enjoyed her rolls. One of my rolls looked like it had baked cat food on top. (It was probably the same salmon you get packaged in the tuna can aisle) service was friendly. But I don’t intend to go back. I’ll stick with Yi Sushi across the street. If you like the Ichiban in Salt Lake you’ll probably like it here. Not me though. Never again.

4 stars! The sushi was yummy and it was a fun experience with the fam! I am not a huge know it all about sushi, but to me it tasted as good as any sushi that I have had! The breading on the Vegas roll (deep fried) was really thick, that would be my only complaint with the sushi.
The price is RIGHT! All of the sushi was/​is half off, so get a couple of extra rolls to try is fun and not expensive.
My two favorite rolls were The Executive and The Hidden Dragon Roll (the one on fire).
The service is slow and it’s hard for them to understand any special requests. It wasn’t very busy when we were there, but it was still slow. Don’t go with expectations of great service, then you won’t be disappointed!
For the money spent, I say it is very we worth the time to go and visit Ichiban!

Food didn’t taste all that fresh. Servers seem to lack experience and were more concerned with clearing a table than asking us if we wanted our sake refilled. The alcohol tasted good. The rest, meh. Get some fresher ingredients and I’ll come back.

The sushi is killer, the Hidden Dragon Roll is brought out wrapped in tin foil, then lit on fire till it dies (10 seconds at most) it’s so good, fresh and spicy.
The Vegas Roll was crispy, fresh, the salmon was great and fresh.
The seating and atmosphere is old and run down. If you see past this the food is good, prepared with care! Great sushi bar as well!

Very impressed with the sushi, fresh and tasty. I loved the executive role, the slight hint of parsley and lime makes the flavor pop. The super spicy roll was really good too. Best part though was 50% off sushi rolls. The menu is impressive as well. They offer both sushi and stir fry dishes. Hot and sour soup was good though temp could have been slightly hotter, don’t like cold soup. Service is okay.

It is now Ichiban Sushi & Asian grill AND IT IS BETTER THEN EVER! Looking at the menu it was difficult ordering just one of their many beautiful creations. They were fast as well. The plating design was authentic. Ya’ll must come back and check them out! Alas the fish they had last time is gone, but with selection they have now. I won’t miss it.
