We have been going here for years and the service has gotten much better since we first came here. It’s not the best sushi you’ll ever have but its the best for the money! We never get sick of the angel roll and the pink lady. All the other meals are okay but the sushi is great for the price!

This place is great! Sometimes it takes a while to get your good but for the quality and price it’s totally worth it! I have not had anything other than sushi and appetizers there. However I hear the other food is great too!

Sushi is okay for the price and I haven’t had any entrees here but looked really good. I’ll still come in sometimes for cheap sushi even though the service is really poor.

Love this place. The golden dragon roll and the volcano roll are amazing. Everything we’ve had here is good. We take our whole family and get stuffed for less than that all you can eat sushi place. It’s also much fresher and friendlier.

Service is horrible, but if you’re craving cheap yet decent sushi this is the place to go. If you are expecting Japan quality delicious sushi with fantastic service… don’t even bother trying. Sushi rolls and nigiri take forever to come to your table, servers don’t explain what’s on your plate, and they are very unprofessional. I give them 4 stars because they do satisfy my after work sushi craving with a reasonable price.

Oh man! Oh man! Oh man! The owner/manager needs to know what owning a restaurant really means :/ It started with a long wait before we were seated in a corner; although the place was half empty. Ambience is of a 80s Chinese hole in a wall. First thing I noticed was that the owner(I assume she is the owner by the constant yelling throughout my stay) was very involved with who was coming in and out. The servers and waiters seemed pretty intimidated by her. The menu was pretty extensive. We chose a few sushi items and some Chinese dishes and they were so-so. I don’t think I will be going back. Sorry!

We wanted to go try Naked Fish downtown and found that it was closed on Monday’s and was getting kinda hungry so opted out for this place. One thing I like about here is the service is so fast and they sling the food out as fast as you can order it. Rolls are average at best but better than nothing with a craving comes up that needs satisfied. Pretty sure we will come back but only on a time where we need a quick fix for rolls.

Called in ahead and told there was no wait but once we got there 10 minutes later, there was a 15 – 20 minute wait. This place was pretty packed when we arrived. Shows how popular it is! Finally sat down and ordered drinks and sushi. Overall our experience was pretty positive. Service was a little slow but have to take into consideration how busy they were. The sushi rolls were all to our liking except the fried«Devil» one which was too doughy for us. Also tried a few other things including: Nigiri: salmon, tuna, and unagi. Unagi was our favorite of the three. It was just so full of flavor! Rolls: tiger, volcano, spicy tuna, and eel. All were good but tiger was our absolute favorite. Can’t wait to come back and get more Unagi and to try other items on the menu!

A very popular place, which is kind of the only downside because they can get lined up at dinner time. Oh, and they have a silly song they sing for birthdays and play some loud music, which can interrupt your conversation, but it’s a small price to pay. The food is good and very affordable for sushi, we can usually eat here for the same price as an «all you can eat» type sushi place, but the quality of roll here is better. I’ve been surprised at how much fish I get in a roll, even the rather basic $ 2 rolls. Other places I’ve been try to load up the rolls with rice and skimp on the fish or charge through the nose for even basic rolls.

Maybe it is time to find a new sushi place or it was a «hit or miss» night. The sushi rolls are still ½ off. It is inexpensive but I am not quite sure if it is worth the wait. Some nights, it can take you 40 minutes to get a table. I’ve been here a couple of times but the quality of the sushi is not the same. We ordered the vegas, golden dragon and the california roll for my son. I wanted to try the Wasatch Mountain. Totally regretted it after. The deep fried sushi were half-battered(mix), extra greasy and falling apart when they were served. I am not quite sure if I will be back.

This place was great. And very inexpensive. Went here at lunchtime to see the place fill up by noon. I ordered a sashimi appetizer with 5 kinds of fish. The pieces were $ 1 each and of good size plus were very tasty. Added a Miso soup as well which was delicious. All their rolls are ½ off the menus listed prices so I went ahead and ordered a Rainbow and Unagi(eel) roll. Hard to finish everything by myself as portions were satisfying. Three other Eel rolls came out before mine so it’s a popular item there. What I had was very good and would definitely recommend Yi Sushi to anyone. My bill was only $ 25 with tip & tax. Thanks Unilocal

This is really good sushi for the price. It’s one of the«half off» joints in the valley(why do they do that??), and I think it’s the best of the bunch. It tastes good and you can really get your fill. Does it have that aesthetic finesse you look for in great sushi? No. It’s basic rolls plopped on a plastic tray, but for the price it’s still a good meal. I loved my rainbow roll and the spicy tuna was pretty good. The miso soup was… miso soup(hard to mess that one up), and all in all I was really pleased with my meal. When I just want to stuff my face, I’m planning to go again. Four stars for good basic sushi and a great price.

This is my everyday sushi place. The menu contain a big selections of rolls to pick from. The prices are great and satisfy your sushi needs. The Tiffany roll is one of my favorite rolls. They have a won-ton soup that I like getting on cold days. The vegetable tempera is always good to share with the family. For the people that do not like sushi, the Chinese selection is very tasty. The chicken fried rice is favorite of the family. They have bento boxes, noodle dishes, and stir fries that you can’t go wrong on. The place is very popular so get their early for dinner to get a table without having to wait.

Favorites — Executive, Hot Baby, Chicken on Stick appetizer, & Salmon sashimi. I don’t recommend Tuna sashimi here. They are usually pretty busy during dinner hours so service can be slow at times, but it’s a good place to satisfy your cravings.

For inexpensive sushi I think this place is good! I’ve only had their veggie rolls and they are great! The service is good, the atmosphere is descent and the price is nice too. My favourite has to be The Sweet Potato rolls and Tempura Rolls. They use Eel sauce but the manager or owner said there isn’t actual Eel.

This has become my go to cheap sushi place in Utah as it seems to have for others. They have half of sushi all day on most items. If you are familiar with Red Mermaid, it is almost the same menu but I feel better quality. I always get the nigiri($ 1), but a lot of the fancy rolls are half off too. You can fill up on sushi that is pretty good especially for the price. I like it for a quick bite of sushi. The staff is friendly and there is plenty of parking. Swing by and get some sushi that is good for the price.

Midvale, UT: Hands down my favorite sushi place in the valley. Don’t be put off by the«too cheap to be delicious» prices because I can assure you that I’ve enjoyed the sushi here more than any other place in Salt Lake City. Though this place doesn’t have any Michelin stars, the sushi is presented well and tastes great. The California Roll is the best I’ve ever had, and even their westernized Tiffany and Vegas rolls are amazing. My personal favorite is actually the fish-less/vegetarian tempura veggie roll. Regardless of what you get though — the sushi rolls, the miso soup, etc. — you’ll be a happy camper. I’ve never paid more than $ 5.00 a roll. This place definitely gets packed during peak times so I recommend getting the sushi to go. I call about 15 – 20 min before and my order is always ready when I walk in through the door. They pack a good about wasabi and soy sauce along with chopsticks so you can eat the moment you get home. All in all, I recommend this fabulous location. Even the sushi averse in my family will readily eat sushi when we order from here.

Could be a language barrier or just terrible service. I’ve gone here multiple times and the food is consistently good, their service however… is consistently terrible. The waitresses wont recommend anything if you ask and most of the time they just take your order and don’t talk or make eye contact. Perhaps that’s apart of their culture also. I’ve been to several Sushi restaurants and even worked at one for a few years. Sushi to me is supposed to be a fun experience, especially if you sit at the bar. The price is great, all their rolls are«half off» and dont seem to be marked up in price, just to discount. You can generally get two high end rolls for $ 12. My recommendations on this place: Order to go, eating in wont make for a better dining experience.

The main attraction of this place is cheap delicious sushi rolls. If you are looking for authentic Japanese sushi like you see in the movies or food channel, this is not exactly the best place. The nigiri sushi here are acceptable but they don’t taste fresh and the size is rather small. Plus, most of their sushi chefs and servers are of Chinese origins so if you close your eyes while eating and listen, you would think you are in Beijing. But that doesn’t mean you have to completely give this place a miss. First, they serve good sushi rolls. I like to think they are more Americanized sushi because if you tell the Japanese that we put mayonnaise or dressings on their rolls, they will probably get a heart attack. That’s like eating burgers with wasabi. Just doesn’t sound right. But having been here long enough, I have started to appreciate this type of sushi. I mean, why stick on what’s right and what’s wrong as long as your palate is happy, right? I guess that is why the chefs here are overly creative with their sushi rolls menu. They seriously have a lot of varieties — rolls with raw fish, some with crunchy nuts and vegetables, cooked tempura shrimp and grilled ells — every combination imaginable. Second, the sushi here is dirt cheap. They have 50% off sushi rolls and 1 dollar nigiri/sashimi all the time. They even have it printed on the menu which made me wonder, why not reduce the main price once and for all? Some restaurants just work in mysterious ways. The service is alright. You can get a table pretty fast but you do have to wait quite a while to get your orders, especially when the place is crowded but I feel that the food is worth the wait. I will come again.

Ok so this place is very decent with the sushi. The sushi is super good but what do you expect for the price you are paying for the rolls. They are really cheap sushi. I have been here a couple times because this was my go to place for a cheap sushi run. Here is the reason why I gave this place three stars. The waitress that was serving us was really confused. She had to come back again to couple check on the rolls we ordered and when she brought the rolls she had to triple check. Another thing that peeved me was that the service was a bit slow. It took them forever to make four rolls. The rolls used to be a very decent size. Two rolls usually fill me up, but when our rolls came out it was tiny and very disappointing. I am not sure if the restaurant has some kind of problem or ingredients got expensive but they are cutting down on size. It was very disappointing and the rolls didn’t even fill me at all. I will need to locate another go to sushi place.
