Gourmet Buffet

Don’t know why there are so many poor reviews for this place. I went there as a kid, and I went there about a year ago as an adult, and it was just as good as I remember! The price is cheap, there’s a great selection, and I was very pleased with the service and ambiance. I hear they’ve gone out of business and this definitely saddens me, as I have so many fond memories of this place.

The WORST buffet ever! We were in the area and looking for someplace that would be quick and easy, our mistake. There were only a few people when we went in on a Friday night. This should have been our signal to leave, but we thought we would give it a try. There was not a large selection, the food that was supposed to be hot was cold, and when I went to select something «safer» like the fruit the oranges looked like they had been sitting out for several days – dried up. Perhaps they were heating the oranges to dehydrate them. Not quite sure, but one thing I know NEVER EAT HERE!

If I could give it zero stars, I would. The absolute WORST assortment of under/​over cooked food. Rice has been sitting for so long that it’s burnt to the bottom of the pans.

This is the worst buffet I have ever eaten at, I wouldn’t come back here if someone gave me a $ 100 gift card to it because of how bad it was. The food here is as bland as it gets, there is nothing interesting about any of it at all and a lot of it wasn’t very well made even for a buffet as much of it seemed to be overcooked or just sloppily done. The most appetizing thing there was a tray of fried fish that didn’t even look like it was touched at all. So I grabbed a bunch of that and first piece in I find bones, I’m very unlucky when it comes to fish so I just shrug it off but then I take a bite of a few more pieces and 2 more of had bones so I wasn’t going to eat anymore of that. Are they trying to kill their customers or something? You should ALWAYS double check fish for bones before serving it to a customer because you get one eater who isn’t that careful and you just seriously injured them, especially if it’s fried fish and people are going to be eating them like chicken nuggets. Besides that the place also looks as plain as it gets but at least it wasn’t that dirty. So there is also nothing to enjoy in terms of atmosphere either. This place isn’t worth it even if you are just in the area and want to stuff your face at a buffet and don’t really care what you eat as long as it tastes ok. Avoid it, you’d be better off going to a nearby fast food place than here.

To say this was the worst buffet would be an understatement. That’s not to say that I am adverse to buffets, I just hope one day my tastebuds will recover.

Food isn’t terrible, but could be better. Place was empty when the wife and I came in, then a bus full of people cane in and the place was a mad house.

There’s a give and pull to buffets. They’re like Sushi restaurants — the more customers, the fresher the food. Fewer customers means infrequent turnover of the food… But if the food isn’t good in the first place, there won’t be any customers. I’m not sure how this place is able to stay open.
This place ultimately tries to be too many things. Chinese, American and French. Their cooks do all three and they do it all badly.

I walked in to find that it was more of a help yourself Chinese restaurant then an American/​Italian/​Chinese Buffet. The food was disgusting and the dishes etc were dirty. To top it all off our table was sticky. I wouldn’t though this place again with a ten foot pole!

I’m going to have to go with Ed G. on this one: I actually considered whether I could sue them for the use of Gourmet in their name. I’m pretty easy going, but it deeply offended me. It’s an insult to semantics, France, French Chefs, Europe, logic, reason, perception, etc.
Absolutely terrible.
