Have been eating here for a while and notice there are some new staff(very friendly and English proficient!). They just came out with a new lunch special, asparagus with black bean sauce w/shrimp or beef. A must-try. Was very satisfied with the food and service. Coming back again for lunch!

Blehhhhhh! Inedible! I ordered the garlic chicken which was bitter and oddly reminiscent of something chemical-y, like propane or rubbing alcohol. The rice was undercooked, too. Lame.

Tonight, I found myself hungry, tired and lazy. I didn’t want to go out to eat and didn’t want to cook. I wanted something delivered to me but I didn’t want pizza so I got some Chinese food. The only reason why I am giving them 5 stars is because of there Voodoo delivery service! When I called them they said my order would be there in 30 minutes and my food was at my door in 21 minutes! That’s amazing! Domino’s Pizza couldn’t top that! Anyway, lets talk about the food, I got the chicken chow main, pork pot stickers, and my new found treasure the pork bun. If you haven’t gotten a pork bun PLEASEGET A PORKBUN! Its a bun with sweet and sour pork inside! They are so good I could of consumed a dozen of them.

**This review is for only their delivery** We decided on Chinese food at work since we were going to have a long night. With limited Chinese food places in corte madera, I hopped on Unilocal and called 3 places. Also Lily Kai said they deliver! Yay! But wait, they had no website for us to look at a menu… Aww. On the flip side, almost every Chinese food restaurant has the same menu so we went off and ordered on whatever dish came to us: Honey walnut prawns Mongolian beef Combo fried rice BBQ pork fried rice Tofu in sweet n sour sauce Garlic chicken Crispy wontons Pot stickers After our order, the delivery guy came in 45 minutes, just like what the lady said over the phone. The food was fantastic, everything was good and delicious, no complaints. I’d order here for delivery again!

Walked in to the place on a Saturday night to pick up a take out menu. Place had four people in it. Not a good sign. There was a table you could eat at, but you wouldn’t want to. Went home and ordered for delivery. Delivery was timely and they found us in the dark. Egg rolls were hard and dry. Pot stickers were globular, clumping and had little taste. Beef dish was full of fat and oil and inedible. Another dish has chicken instead of beef. Sauces were out of a can. I think it was the worst Chinese food I have had in 50 years. If Jenny Low’s were to open a delivery-only place in Mill Valley, Lily Kai would go out of business instantly. They have had a couple years to get their act together after seeing feedback, but don’t have the talent or standards to do it. Avoid if you can.

I think the guy showed up with my steaming hot food before the phone was back in the cradle. Holy sticky pork buns, I say! Decent selection and pretty darn tasty. The broccoli and beef was done just right–(crunchy not soggy), and the kids and I went to battle over the remaining sweet and sour pork. Overall I am a big fan… especially when starving and don’t feel like cooking.

The food is not the best I’ve had but I love the fact that they deliver. It’s a little pricey but okay for every now and then. Decent portions but a little sloppy(I had a lunch special with chow mien & broccoli beef and the noodles were soaked in beef juice.) Again, not great but okay.

Me and my husband were very hungry the other night so we ordered delivery. They were super fast which is always nice. But for $ 25 dollars we got inedible chicken chow mien, soggy noodles in our won ton soup, and stale appetizers. We wasted our money and I feel cheated.

Good place with with very good value for money. The quality is good, not outstanding but good and I like picking up food here. Not really a great place to eat inside. Very good lunch offers.

Great place to get a quick lunch. I usually sit down because you can’t judge a places food based on just take out that is unfair and ignorant because food never tastes good when it’s to go(especially anything fried). I will admit the place doesn’t have the best ambiance but if you are just looking to get some traditional American Chinese food that isn’t overpriced in Mill Valley then Lily Kai is the place to be.

Would not feed to my dog. Very, very, very, very oily. They must purchase their oil by the trainload. Gross. I have tried their food several times and my wife and I get sick every time. Complaints about the oil and the quality fall on deaf ears. Will not go back except for a lube job for my car. Good alternatives in Marin: PJ’s in Larkspur, Pings in San Rafael and Feng Nian in Sausalito. All three are very, very clean and will not make you sick.

Yummy great portions, I work right by there and they always bring to my boutique with no problems. I would not eat there though!

It’s a funky little place that never seems to be too crowded, so I suggest using this place for pick up or delivery only – it’s not a place in which to enjoy great ambiance or anything. I like that the portion sizes are very large, but the food could be better.

All right, I’m standing up for Lily Kai… sort of. they have wacky hours, so call first, and, as someone mentioned, you can eat in, but it’s really more of a takeout/delivery place. The creamy crab-puffs are made RIGHT! And dammit are they good. I go just for them. In fact, I think that’s what all 4 of my stars are for. Lemon chicken is usually kinda dry. The rest of the food is standard in price, taste and portion. I never leave unhappy. They even have pork buns. NOBODY in Mill Valley has pork buns. reco’nize.

I went there for lunch today and was not impressed at all… On a scale of 1 — 5 I found the taste to be a 2 or 3. Their lunch specials are pretty extensive, service was nice(I had my food to go). Massive quantity of food. I have a ton left over(not sure what I am going to do with it yet, if figured if I forgot about the leftovers maybe the leftover fairy will come and take it away) I ordered crispy beef which was not crispy at all. Also I got an order of deep fried prawns to taste, they were horrible. Pounded to a pulp and then fried with a very heavy coating. They didn’t taste like prawns, but they did smell like prawns if that makes any sense. I do agree with the last reviewer and don’t eat in… make sure you take it out. I wish I could give it a better review for food because the staff was very friendly. Maybe best to proceed with caution and maybe I should stay away from Restaurants when I am PMS’ing… Try to enjoy… I’ll be anxious to read what other people say…

Review concerns the new PETALUMA location. Ingredients are fresh, sauces are perfectly balanced, and the affordable portions won’t leave you feeling empty an hour later. Lunch meals are just as large as dinner– which turns out to be quite a deal! They also accommodate vegans(they don’t fry their tofu) and will add or subtract ingredients to your liking. Fresh veggies with a crunch– even when it’s take-out. Expect lunch hour to be packed but parties of 2 are usually seated quickly. Service can be on the hasty side but they are attentive and friendly. Certainly one of the more authentic ethnic eateries in Sonoma County. The only item I’ve had that I wouldn’t have again is the Chicken Noodle soup; next time, I’ll have it all-vegetable(noodles were tragic). Try the all-white meat Garlic Chicken and Sweet n’ Sour Chicken, and the Chicken Chow Mein. Egg rolls are pipin’ hot and fantastic.

TAKEOUT or DELIVERY only. Dining there will be a bit of a turnoff unless you’re there for a quick work lunch. Food is decent but a bit all over the spectrum in flavor. Their eggplant is a dramatic stand out. Delivery food tastes much better than dining in. Perhaps the minimal, low key interior with a lot of local summer vacation teeny boppers ordering combos to go but then eating in turned us off.
