Exquisit food! The ziziling beef pepper dish is to die for! Among with the Singapore noodle so delish! Very professional, friendly, clean and beautiful inside.

Not only did I find multiple hairs in my food but I got sick from it. I didn’t have a good meal.

I was shocked at the $ 70 price tag for three cheap entrees and two soups but I was more shocked at how bad the food was. Dishes that normally aren’t, were all breaded and fried and tasted very dry and oily at the same time. To top it all off we found two hairs. Never ordering from bamboo hut again. Terrible.

We ordered dinner and asked for delivery. Food was delivered earlier than expected and tasted great. Great food and free delivery to the hotel makes it even better!

I’d been prepared to not like this place. I thought it would be another Chinese place that only serves bland food, watered down for the American palette. After all, Mill Valley isn’t known for its diversity… Moreover, my partner is Chinese and he’s really picky when it comes to the food from his motherland. Usually, we track over to the East Bay(Richmond) or to San Francisco(Richmond District) for some proper Chinese food, but once in a while he’s just having a craving and so one day we decided to give Bamboo Hut a try… And to both of our surprises it’s been quite good. So much so, that we’ve made this our to-go takeaway place for when we’re both too lazy to cook. Granted, this place will not replace our trips to the«Richmonds» as the menu here is still quite limited, however, we’re very happy to have found this little gem. Items that we’ve ordered and can vouch for: Honey Walnut Shrimps Beef with Egpplant Beef with String Beans Mongolian Beef Pan Fried String Beans

Bamboo Hut is second to none for delicious Chinese food in Mill Valley. Their ingredients are fresh and delicious, takeout is ready to go in 15 mins or less, and not once has the order ever been less-than-perfect. It’s a weekly tradition in our household that I hope will continue for years to come!

Really really bad. I just went for the first time for lunch, and I will never go back. Super yucky. I couldn’t eat it.

I’ve been wondering about this place for a few years. It’s been so many different Asian restaurant’s in the last 50 years. We’ve tried most of the Chinese restaurants in southern Marin so we thought we’d gamble on this one because none of the others, even though some are quite good, are authentic. We’ve had to go to Balboa, Clement, or Chinatown for authenticity. This was great though. Not perfectly authentic Chinese but very close. Certainly not the pricing of the above San Francisco places though. We were amazed that we were the only diners there between 7:15pm and 8:15pm and their take out only had 2 pick ups. I didn’t think they had a lot of delivery business but my friend saw 3 different delivery men leave the restaurant so I’m not sure. I hope that they have enough business to stay around now that I’ve discovered this Gem. The 2 workers were very friendly, warm and polite which is something you don’t always get in San Francisco. We had the 2nd best Hot and Sour soup I’ve ever had. I don’t know if the Chinese place in Fairfax on Bolinas Rd. is still there that had the #1 best Hot and Sour Soup as I haven’t been there in 10 years. Bamboo Hut soup has nice chicken strips in it. Then we had Sweet and Sour Pork which was delicious and Walnut Prawns which were large, succulent lightly breaded Prawns. That’s all we had so I can’t say more about the food. They do deliver to Sausalito for $ 4.00 which is great for me. I’m still wondering why we were the only dine in people there with such great food.

The food is 4 star. But tonight they surprised me with a $ 6 delivery fee, without warning. On my previous home delivery order, they didn’t charge extra for delivery in Mill Valley. No one likes a surprise and $ 6 is higher than what others charge in town.

For Mill Valley chinese food it’s pretty good. Portions are large and seem to be relatively fresh and have a decent spice to them. Prices are maybe a touch more that you might think but we aren’t in SF here and it seems getting good cheap Asian is a dream only achieved in the City, Berkeley or Oakland for the most part. I’d go again for takeout, no real ambiance inside to speak of, nice enough people running the place though.

We’ve always been pleased with their food(which is saying a lot as a snobby New Yorker!) but their service is worth noting here too. If you order deliver with them, call & do it directly — when u use a 3rd party service it takes forever. I called them directly on this stormy rainy night and they were at my place in less than 45 minutes which is unheard of in mill valley! Highly recommend them for eat in or delivery when you must have Chinese food.

Been coming here the past two weekends. Working on a side project so needed to spend days in the office. The food is really really really really good. It’s so tasty and fresh. The lunch special is really amazing and the hot and sour soup is really good. That is mad dope. I have high standards for hot and sour soup so if I give it a thumbs up, you know it’s really good.

This place is pretty good, but the value isn’t there as the menu is on the high side of pricing. The take out process is efficient, and the food is fresh and good, it just lacks that extra bit of quality for the price they are charging. For to-go orders they give you the sauce for the entrée separate and skimped on the sauce in my order, leaving me with somewhat dry chicken, hence the 3-star rating.

Wow. Now that’s a great lunch special! Usually try and pack my lunch when I come in to work at the liquor store; forgot this time around and used Unilocal to find this spot. Scanned the menu online before calling to ask questions; glad I did because I found out they have a lunch special menu that is unlisted. Walked over and was blown away in the variety of options available in the special lunch set: appetizer choice, rice choice, soup choice, and entee choice — my order came out to a flat $ 11(after adding tax) I was suggested to try the sole fish Mongolian style-yessssss! So good! +1 for attentive communication when answering phone(she asked me to hold for a sec since it became apparent I had more questions, and maybe she had to drop a dine-in order to the kitchen) +1 for genuine suggestions when I walked in and asked what the cashier’s favorite entrée was. She suggested Mongolian style fish. +1 for quick turn out for take out. I barely had time to head into the bathroom to clean up, and sit to admire their quaint fish pond inside. +2 for quantity and quality of their kitchen’s lunch set. When I got back to my post to dig in– I happily showed off my lunch to my partners abroad, and pointed my store customers who were intrigued by my lunch to the bamboo hut. 10⁄10 would try again!

Well, I really wanted to like his place. The basil tofu and vegetarian chow mein really were quite good — this place has got some decent vegetarian faire. But the sesame chicken was a total disappointment — just some fried BS with weird sauce on the side. And this would’ve still been okay until we ate the fortune cookies — or tried to — the oil had gone bad and they were inedible. And expensive. Bummer. I wanted this to be my new favorite Chinese place.

In sum: it’s cheap Chinese food. A few worthy notes: — Entering/exiting can be sticky for north bound patrons, enter/exit heading south bound is a lot easier. — Online orders are for after 4pm. Only. — They don’t accept Amex, only MC and Visa. — They can be understaffed.

This place makes our whole family happy. Eating in is fine. Not fancy. Best of all is the Chinese delivery for dinner. Friendly drivers. More than once, I’ve ordered all soups to go ~ egg drop, heart healthy tofu and spinach, sizzling rice, wonton, hot and sour. My daughter prefers the vegetarian potstickers, sweet and sour tofu(not on the menu) and garlic noodles without the prawns. The rest of the family enjoys Kung Pao Shrimp and lemon chicken(which is an enormous portion and delicious). Yum.

It was a Wednesday evening and I was jones-ing for some pot stickers. Unfortunately, since moving to Mill Valley over a year ago, I haven’t found any exceptional restaurants to get my Chinese fix. I’ve had numerous disappointing meals at Harmony Restaurant in the Strawberry Village. Still not sure how I paid over $ 25 for 3 pot stickers, some chow mein, and a side of chicken fried rice. For that same price at an SF Chinese restaurant, I could have fed a family of 10. In any case, I stumbled upon Bamboo Hut after reading a number of positive Unilocal reviews. So I decided to give it a shot. Let’s be clear — this ain’t a fancy schmancy restaurant. The setting and décor are pretty basic. But I didn’t come here to be wow-ed by interior design. I came here to enjoy some good Chinese food. And on those merits, Bamboo Hut certainly delivers. I got an order of 8 pot stickers for just $ 6.96(compare that to the 3 lukewarm pot stickers at Harmony for the same price). Bamboo Hut’s pot stickers were awesome. They weren’t doughy and soggy like at some sub-par Chinese restaurants. The pork filling was generous and the meat was clean. And the dish came with its own unique soy-based/spicy dipping sauce. No white wine vinegar was needed for these bad boys. For an entrée, I ordered the chicken chow fun. Once again, I was pleasantly surprised by the generous portion. I could only finish half my plate(the rest of my meal made for a delicious lunch the next day). Also, Bamboo Hut’s chicken is clean(and not suspicious looking meat like you find at some Chinatown restaurants), and the noodles weren’t oily and greasy. My total bill after tax and tip was just $ 19. Bamboo Hut just picked up a new regular customer!
