Context: 10:30pm Friday night, long week after work, with two guests Location: bar Experience: –bartender is the only reason the restaurant gets any stars for the night — she was outstanding –walking in, five employees standing behind receiving desk –order included five appetizers, one of which did not reach the table, even after being seated for 30 minutes and receiving dessert and being told by a server that our missing appetizer was, «coming right up» –two employees fooling around while two other patrons unaffiliated with my party did not appear to be helped sufficiently, especially after standing in same place seemingly waiting for food after more than 10 minutes –possibly the manager on phone leaning against wall nearly 5 minutes on phone –three tables surrounding bar were not turned over until 10 minutes later, meanwhile patrons waiting to be seated –two employees fooling around, one knocks over a glass and cuts herself

If you go, I recommend a few servers: Matt R., Mike H, Mike C, Nina, Nikki, and Matt Z. They’re all excellent servers and will give you amazing serice. All are very attentative and will make sure you enjoy your visit to the fullest. Food usually comes out very well and any problems are fixed as fast as possible. Late nights for half priced appetizers are usually hell, but that’s to be expected with the sheer volume of people who walk through the door all at once. Amazing bartenders, and great atmosphere too. Definitely recommend trying the new enchiladas.

This place is absolutely terrible. I have been going to Applebee’s since I was 15 and now I am 28. Waiter was absolutely rude. Food was disgusting. I am never coming back here. This place is clean but customer service is not good at ALL. This place is a waste of money, go to the one in south Plainfield.

Just curious, is this the applebee’s which fired a waitress for posting a lousy tip on the internet?

Come in on a Saturday night about 7:30, the place wasn’t really packed so q min or 2 wait was ok. I saw an open table in the bar area now every other place I’ve ever been to that has a bar area with tables it’s open seating if the tables free it’s yours. As I went over to sit at an OpenTable I was told by another way there I had to be seated by the hostess I was quite confused so I walked back and waited I stood up just to notice that they were about five empty tables now I understand that they have to cycle customers to each section so that waiters and waitresses get fair tips but after 15 minutes of sitting I was seated in one of the already empty tables so what did I actually wait for them to have the staff talk about me in front of me was ridiculous my waitress was amazing though so they get two stars because of her other than that I have no need to ever go back to that place ever again

The food at Applebee’s continues to be a lot of glorified cafeteria cuisine with a decent burger. BUT… the waitstaff continues to be good-looking. Hooray!!!

Staff are always great. Special«Shout out» to Scott and Laurie for always doing a good job. That being said, I am not happy with the recent menu changes. They got rid of the phenomenal nachos appetizer and replaced it with a more expensive version that is not as good, and is smaller. Until my chili nachos are returned to the menu, I will not be coming back!

I am usually suspicious of chain restaurants, and don’t have fond memories of Applebee’s in general, but I have to admit that my most recent visit was fairly pleasant. We stopped in for a midweek dinner and I went with their take on a Philly Cheesesteak sandwich. The meat was tender, the cheese plentiful, and the other toppings did a fine job of complementing the sandwich. The french fries were crisp on the outside and creamy inside, just like they should be, and even the spicy cucumber salad on the plate was delicious. Our waiter was courteous and attentive, and the overall environment was excellent.

Awful service. 35 minute wait for food, server(corbin) looked like that was that last place he wanted to be, asked for a tv to be changed(it was a a replay hockey game on the nhl network, and we wanted the mets game) and apparently that was too much of a hassle, ran out of patron. The list goes on and on. Tipped decent because I’m in the industry, but disappointing time and service.

My friend and I come here once a month for their ½ price Appitizers and drinks. This is by far the worst visit we have had. We waiting for 20 minutes then other guests who came after us. Then we get shoved into the worst booth ever. Behind the hostess stand. Small and cold because we get the breeze everytime someone opens the door to enter or leave. Server came to greet another table who sat after us before greeting us.

It’s an Applebee’s. I feel like you know what you’re getting into when you decide you’re going to Applebee’s. The only interesting thing about this specific Applebee’s is the amount of unattended children you see running around the bar area. At least when I went, it seems like most of the families were seated in the bar area(and the restaurant wasn’t really all that packed) and the children were just running around with no one watching them. I’ve only been there once, so it might not be a common occurrence. I just feel like if a family of 6 comes in — you should try to sit them away from the people who are drinking.

I love Applebees but this location is garbagio(garbage in broken italian; pronounced gar-bah-ji-oh). We were in the half off zone when we went there(half-off apps after 10). They did not have quesadilla towers which are the go to half off app. They also alerteed me that they also ran out of the cheese for the brew pub pretzels so they gave us the queso dip instead(good but not the same and not something you want on your pretzels). On a more important note for the two stars the food here was just sub par tasting for an applebees. Service was meh you can always tell when you dont get a water refill while youre there. Bottom line is if you’re going for half off apps they should have all the items there in stock. we know theyre all frozen items tat are stuck in a cooker anyway whats so hard about keeping inventory?

Avoid this place on the weekends after 10pm. It fills up with immature college/high school kids. Looks like they have made some changes to their menu. The Beer pretzels and Beer cheese are amazing. Our server was pretty good, even though he kept forgetting the basics. Straws, Utensils, Refills. Other then that he was pretty good and friendly.

I went here on the whim after an invite from a friend. I dislike most chain restaurants, so my review might be a bit biased. Even on a weekday, this location is fairly crowded. We had to wait 20 minutes for a table for 3 people. It wasn’t really a big deal, just to give you a heads up. I don’t think they take reservations, as there was a party of 18 waiting for 45 minutes. I think that the main reason why people frequent this chain is for the half off menu. We ordered off the 2 for $ 20 menu. It was plenty to split between three people, as portions are huge. The boneless wings are great for appetizer, variety of sauces. We got them in honey bbq sauce. Out of the entrees, I got the fiesta lime chicken. It was basically chicken covered in melted cheddar cheese with tortilla bits, salsa sauce, and spiced rice. Oriental chicken salad included crisp chicken chunks in a iceberg lettuce-like salad covered in way too much creamy dressing. Service was decent. Actually, the waitress was fairly quick to serve. Portions were big, so that we never got to desert. All in all, I didn’t like the food at all. It is not a place I would want to come back to eat again. But it serves its purpose for those seeking cheap eats.

Applebee’s is a great place to go after 10 pm. Half off appetizers every day(minus their sampler dish). Their food isn’t bad, and at half off, there’s really no place better to go. I can’t really tell you about anything else there because I’ve only eaten here after 10 pm and I’ve only gotten their appetizers and desserts. Service is okay. I wish the waitress is around a little bit more to fill up my water. This is a recurring thing I’ve noticed. Food is pretty good. I’ve had their potato twisters(which I mistakenly thought were potato skins), nachos, chicken quesadillas, traditional wings, spinach and artichoke dip, mozzarella sticks and their queso dip. I’m pretty sure I just read you the entire menu. Not a big fan of the potato twisters; they’re really just twisted potato chips, but the queso dip that came with it was really good. Spin dip, nachos and chicken quesadillas are my favorite dishes. As for dessert(yes it needed a separate paragraph), my absolute favorite is the Cookie Sundae. It costs $ 6.50, where I am at least, and it is DELICIOUS. It is this gigantic warm cookie with a huge scoop of vanilla ice cream on the bottom with chocolate drizzled on top. The cookie is so soft and warm and pairs nicely with the ice cream. My second favorite is definitely the chocolate lava cake. You can’t beat a chocolate filled brownie that just oozes chocolate when you break its’ center. Yummmmmmm. That is also served with vanilla ice cream. Overall, good place to hang out with friends after 10 pm and to grab a cheap bite to eat or if you’re in the mood for a delicious cookie sundae.

Applebees is definitely my go-to place when it’s late, I’m hungry, & we’re craving nachos! Yes Applebees has the most amazing nachos– lots of jalapenos and a relatively good portion of it too. And let’s not forget that after 10PM is half off appetizers! Yum :) On other days, I’m here for their Fried Chicken Salad in honey mustard dressing. It’s really to die for! Their tomato basil soup(and whatever soups of the day they have. which remain the same honestly) is amazing! Well it kinda tastes like it was out of the can but still good. I like the all you can eat soup & salad deal on weekdays too. I mostly come here for the desserts! I have tried every one of them & none have disappointed. My favorite is the chocolate mousse dessert shooter, but the quantity has been decreasing. which is a shame. There is a full bar here and you can watch sports, which a lot of people come here to do. Best for late night eaters or weekday lunches: D
