BADSERVICE, so-so foods, not worth the price of $ 23.99 per person. If I can give zero star, I would. Why are they so stingy when we spend $ 200+? We asked for a particular type of herb, they said they’re out of that herb(even though we found it in another dish they brought out later). We asked for noodle, they said they’re out(what kind of Vietnamese restaurant out of noodle?) We ordered wonton soups with crispy wontons on the side. Guess what? They brought the soups out with all the fried wontons inside the soups! When we complained, the waiter ignore us. We ordered beef hotpot(bò nhúng dm), and their beef were paper-thin, not even worth eating. We will NOT return to this restaurant.

Good Vietnamese food, good ambience, good service, good for family, reasonable, good location with multiple other options around, just in case. So go for it.

I got mix feelings about this place. If you come with a group and order the 7 or 9 course meat or combo plate, it’s really good. The meats are marinated well and it’s tasty. They give you a lot of vegetables and condiments to roll those meat up in rice paper. The problem I have with this place is what they offer during lunch hours. With barley anyone in the restaurant, it took a long time for me to get my food. I waited over 15 mins just for some noodles and fried wantons. It was not good compared to other noodle houses around the vicinity. Would I come back? Only with a group if we order the meat combo hot pot dish.

My friends and I came here after Unilocaling a good place to eat Vietnamese food in San Jose. We wanted something with at least 4 Stars. From the service, food and wait time to get seated, I believe this place deserves 6 Stars! I ordered the 7 Courses of Beef, which is what they’re known for along with a side of their Crab and Asparagus soup and Chicken Salad(goi ga). The soup was a bit salty for my liking, but my friend said it was delicious! Everything else definitely hit the spot!!! I will definitely bring my family and friends back next time I’m in the area!

Got here at 9:15& restaurant closed at 9:30. They refused to seat us, claiming ‘last call is at 9:15′ Whatever…never will return The sign on the door clearly says restaurant closes at 9:30pm. I really don’t know why the owner/manager sends me a message indicating they close at 9pm. Take responsibility for your employees error & move on.

It was not a busy day, only 4 other tables were seated with full staff and we were still getting slow service. I think my friend ordered sime eggrill with noodles covering it and that was good. I don’t know what it’s called. I got lemongrass spice tofu rice dish and the plate was big, decent portion but the flavor wasn’t as strong as I had hoped.

If you have a friend that wants to learn interactively about Vietnamese cuisine or an Americanized Vietnamese friend that is mostly likely 11 times removed by their ancestors, it is a must to bring them here. This is a unique Vietnamese restaurant in that they have a menu setup for customers to put everything into a Spring Roll(aka thin Vietnamese Burrito with clear Rice Paper instead of a tortilla). Presentation 5⁄5: Located in a busy shopping center, have some patience in finding parking. The restaurant itself is very clean with warm colors and simple hanging lights. Tables may be tight but request for more space or a table change and they will accommodate. Customer Service 5⁄5: Typically, I’m harsh on the customer service of my native peoples only that I critique them to be better(grow). Plus, I know how judgmental Vietnamese people can be and their preferences towards certain races. Despite all of that, I can’t express enough that the service here was superb. Very sweet servers that make great recommendations, patient, and will happily/hastily grab utensils, extra rice paper, or vegetables. The young lady working here was amazing(didn’t catch her name). She was helping tables all over but still paid attention to us by either coming personally to check on us or telling other servers to. Food 5⁄5: If you want to try something other than Phở, come here because the flavors are fantastic. We ordered: Saigon Egg Rolls: these were small egg rolls that came with a layer or rice noodles wrapped around them w/peanuts on top. There was pickled carrots and daikon, lettuce, mint, and Vietnamese coriander(Rau Ram) that you can wrap around the egg rolls for extra flavor. Ordered one to eat at the restaurant and one to go. Roasted Quail: never have roasted quail unless I’m partaking in a Vietnamese wedding so I ordered it here. Amazing, not fatty and cooked just right. Came with the same vegetables I mentioned above in the Spring Egg Rolls but also came with a small plate containing salt and black pepper. Seven Beef Course(7 mon): Goi Bo(Beef Salad) — very familiar in that we usually make it with pork at home. Consisted of picked carrots & daikon, celery and small slices of cooked beef. Honestly, any round-eye cut of beef will hardly retain any flavor at all when cooked(cooks fast) so I expected the beef here to be not as flavorful. Bo Nhung dam(Beef Fondue in Red Wine Vinegar Sauce) — red wine vinegar sauce is REALLY tasty. I’d take some of this and put it into your dipping sauce. Other than that, the cut of steak doesn’t retain too much of the flavor. (These next four all come together) Bo Cha Dum(Steamed Beef Patty) — very familiar taste. It tastes like the inside of an egg roll except made with beef Bo Nuong Mo Chai(Grilled Beef Sausages) Bo Nuong La Lot(Beef wrapped in Hawaiian Leaves) [personal favorite out of the three sausages] Bo Nuong Sa(Sa literally means lemongrass) Seasoned very well. Tasty, was not salty or bland, take your time and enjoy the flavor! Pretty much do a roulette and try any of these first or last, all delicious. Chao Bo(Beef Rice Porridge) — small strips of beef and ginger. Amazing ending dish to the seven. It felt like a palate cleanser and I wanted more but was stuffed! There is a fish sauce and fish paste that comes out(mung nem), the latter is very fishy and most people do not like it but have them try it anyway. Overall, great experience and great service. My buddy can’t wait to try showing off his spring roll wrapping abilities again. Definitely coming back here again.

Took my friend here for her birthday. She wanted seven courses of beef as she has not had it for years(since moving from LA to the bay area). It’s also been awhile since I’ve visited Anh Hong and I think the food has gotten better than what I remembered. Must get the baked catfish. It is expensive but so worth it. For our group of 5 people, we only ordered 2 orders of the seven courses and the catfish. We were soooo stuffed but got to try everything like a tasting menu. The employees were also very friendly and nice refilling our waters and cleaning our table so we had more space to eat or roll our spring rolls.

Pros Seven courses of beef: There’s not that many restaurants that offer this so I consider it one of their specialty items. It’s definitely my favorite place compared to Saigon Kitchen, Huong Que, and much better than the Anh Hong location in San Jose. I’ve gone here since I was a kid and I love how they’ve been consistent with their recipes especially with their beef sausages. Baked Catfish: my personal favorite is their baked catfish. The seasoning it just right and the crispy skin is the best part of the dish. If you plan on ordering this item, I’d recommended ordering at least 2 hours ahead to make sure they have the fish in stock and it gives them to prep it. Service: Very attentive waiters and that’s the type of service you want when you’re dining in for the seven courses of beef meal since they are constantly changing out dishes from time to time and making sure you have the necessary items for your meal. Even though it is pricey compared to the standard Vietnamese restaurants, I easily recommend this place when it comes to the seven courses of beef or baked catfish.

7-course beef is one of the best I’ve had. Course 1 — Beef salad. Refreshing and delicious! Course 2 — Beef fondue cooked in vinaigrette. And wrapped in spring rolls with fresh veggies. Course 3, 4, 5, &6 — Beef sausage, onion wrapped in beef, beef wrapped in hawaiian leaves and steamed beef sausage. All very tasty and you wrap your own spring rolls. Course 7 — Beef porridge. My favorite! I wish I weren’t so full and could eat more… but only had half a small bowl. Order the egg rolls appetizer. So tasty and good! And get extra noodles for your spring rolls. I’ll definitely be back. And soon!

Seven. Siete. Bay. You guessed it, I wanted to say seven except I only know it in a couple languages. What are they known for? 7 Courses of Beef! 1. Goi Bo — Special Beef Salad 2. Bo Nhung Dam — Beef Fondue in Red Wine Vinegar Sauce 3. Bo Cha Dum — Steamed Beef Patty 4. Bo Nuong Mo Chai — Grilled Beef Sausages 5. Bo Nuong La Lot — Beef Wrapped in Hawaiian(Lot) Leaf 6. Bo Nuong Sa — Beef Rolls with Onions and Lemongrass 7. Chao Bo — Beef Rice Porridge Served with Rice Paper, Vermicelli Rice Noodle, Lettuce, Cucumber, Carrots, Bean Sprouts, and variety of mixed mint leaves Tina’s Treasures and Tribulations — Approximately $ 20.50 per person minimum of 2 orders — Reservation table was saved after making a phone call — Knowing Vietnamese is a plus and getting things refilled and getting service — Variety of things to order from the menu than just the 7 courses of beef though — Nearby my place and very convenient to eat at since everything is done for us in advance — We had one guest coming late so we had him help us eat the food we currently had leftover, but they weren’t sticklers about it and let us slide by with the amount of people we originally had so I only paid for 9 people instead of 10, SCOREEE! — It’s a to go to if I’m hungry, for me anyway! Will be back with my mama!

Bo 7 Mon!!! I first tried this dish/meal in LA somewhere near Gardena, and I’ve been wondering where to find this in Bay Area ever since. While randomly driving around, my brother suggested this place and I’m so glad he did! The first course comes as a light and refreshing beef salad — it’s sweet and sour, reminds me of a Vietnamese version of the Thai papaya salad! Next come slices of raw beef — you cook them over a low heat pot, so that you can fish out each slice of beef as it’s perfectly tender. After this come five succulent variations of beef, four as little sausages and one as a little meatloaf. For each of these, to the uninitiated, you can make fresh spring rolls with the condiments provided. If you run out of veggies or sauces, the waitstaff is super attentive and will get you refills right away. The last course is a beef porridge — nice and light, a delicious way to round out the meal! Loved that the waitstaff was super attentive with refills of veggies and water. Also loved the ambiance — this restaurant is a nice sit down restaurant, not noisy but with space to accommodate larger groups. Also — word to the wise, divide your party by two for the # of orders to put in for the bo 7 mon; SUPER generous serving sizes here!

I personally think it’s okay, nothing great, but definitely nothing terrible. I’m a so-so fan of more traditional vietnamese cuisine, I prefer to eat it at home since I can control the flavors a bit more. But when it comes to eating out, this is probably one of the better options that I am aware of for Vietnamese food. no you won’t really find phở here, or other mainstream Vietnamese food that most are familiar with, but if you really want to try authentic Vietnamese cuisine, I would suggest giving this place a try.

About 8 of us came here for lunch on a Friday. One of my Vietnamese colleagues highly recommended this place and brought us all here. We got their popular 7 course beef. We were 8 of us; we ordered 4 portions of the meal and we still had leftovers to take home. So keep that in mind when you order :) I don’t vividly remember all the 7 courses, I remember it was a combination of salads, rolls, beef porridge, etc. I LOVED everything. I’m normally not a big fan of salads, however I thought that their salads were delicious. The beef porridge looked basic, but the flavor and the thin ginger slices in the soup were really really good. I loved the courses with beef — They bring you the rice papers that you need to dip in warm water and place it on your plate. Then you add toppings of your choice — lettuce, mint leaves, bean sprouts, cucumber, carrots and beef. Wrap up the roll and eat it. Must try! I’m definitely coming back again very soon.

So I’ve been to a few of these. San Jo, Bezerkely, but always for their famed 7 ways beef. I even reviewed it once, and boy does 7 «ways» get wordy. But on this outing, we delved into their regular menu and ordered ala carte. Relieved to say that we were handsomely rewarded. This is a legit Vietnamese restaurant. With no phở. Take that info as you’d like, but I’m so on board. I feel this kitchen has some pretty good skills. And what I really like, is outside of the clean presentations, balanced and fresh flavors, the portions are generous, and all for around $ 12−15/plate. Total winner in my book. Vietnamese Beef Carpaccio($ 13) is spectacular. About as good as I’ve had, even amongst European versions. Super thin sliced, RAW beef lines a plate. Crisp lettuce, chopped peanuts, scallion and jalapeño for the requisite crunch break. All is dressed in a lime/fish sauce dressing that is out of this world. When put all together, this dish hums with the angels. Catfish Clay Pot($ 12) Not bad, just a little strong in the sauce department. The catfish steaks were ethereal. Silky skin, tender flesh that flakes off the bone. The sauce though was the Vietnamese classic of caramelizing fish sauce. It was crazy intense. Maybe the locals love it that way, but I felt it could’ve been a little more balanced/tamed. But I’ve had this same experience at other legit Vietnamese restaurants. But my take is this… it is a delicate fish, why completely mask it. Beef That Shakes($ 15) at least that’s the way I order it. Aka Shaking Beef or Bo Luc Lac if you’re an OG. This may be the best solid rendition I’ve had yet. First they use cubed NY strip meat vs filet, which IMO has better flavor. Then the marinade is not too strong. Just the right amount of soy, garlic and sweetness. Then it is nicely sauted that it remained tender, though it was no longer pink. But it was ok in this application. And the red rice they pair with this, is one of the tastiest I’ve had. I’m coming back for this, you betcha. Service is pretty efficient if you get the 7 ways beef, cuz it is what they want to do. Ala carte the service is a little more challenged. Plates come out one at a time, so I suggest just sharing everything family style. We did and it worked like a charm.

Came here w/my parents for the crispy catfish. I moved here recently, but before I would go to Dallas to eat this crispy catfish. Here is MUCHMUCH better. Piping hot and it doesn’t seem that splashed it w/a whole lot of oil. Fish is a pretty good size. We had 4 adults and overstuffed ourselves. I would say, this is good for 5 – 6 people easy. It probably didn’t help that we ordered the beef stuffed inside the leaves as appetizers. Fresh veggies and delicious dipping sauce for it. i would LOVE to come back, but hopefully w/more people next time!

THISISNOT A PHORESTAURANT! I saw several people come in asking if they served phở and they seemed disappointed. No worries, there is another phở restaurant in the same shopping center! Anh Hong specializes in things-you-put-into-rice-paper-and-dip-into-sauce-and-eat. Myself not being Vietnamese can not name this type of cuisine, but as an avid Asian food eater, it is good! If you’re not willing to dive into the«7 courses of beef», I recommend ordering 1 item for each person in your party. I’ve typically ordered 2 items when dining with my partner. We’ve enjoyed the squid fried in a cast iron pan(watch out, the oil pops around!), shrimp(a bit too salty), as well as beef slices dipped into a little hot pot. The hot pot is an earthen pot with a sterno, and towards the end of the meal, the sterno tends to burn out. I’d recommend for newbies to try the beef in a broth. This place is great if you love to play with your food! The veggies that come with the meal for adding into your adhoc spring rolls are always fresh!

LOVE it! That’s all I’m gonna say. Feel so much like eating at homeeeeeee!!! Location(5⁄5): The restaurant locates in an opened space plaza with plenty of parking spots. Right next to Anh Hong Saigon is Tous le Jour. Services(5⁄5): We get seated right away even when we came during prime time for dinner. The waiters are very nice and fast! Since we ordered a self-serving dish, they constantly came by to check on us! Food(5⁄5): I love it! It tastes so authentic and flavorful just like how I would eat and serve at home. We ordered #25 for two. The marinated meat was not too salty, so it was perfect for wrapping in banh trang and greens! Don’t forget to dip in the mixed fish sauce which has the balance of sugar, lime juice, fish sauce and chilis. I will definitely come back for more! I highly recommend trying out all the self-serving meals to experience an unique side of Vietnamese cuisine.

We began our meal with the carpaccio, beef salad, and imperial rolls. The carpacio was mouthwatering. The salad could have used a little more meat in my opinion, but was still excellent. The rolls come in a good size of two bites each(perfect for not double dipping; just flip to the other side) wrapped in rice noodles that complemented the crunchy wrap of the roll perfectly. For the main course, we split their huge fish. The skin is amazingly crispy for a fish that’s not fried. I posted a picture, but it does it no justice because the veggies are covering how large and excellent it actually is.

First off… I came here with excitement and an open heart and therefore end result was too much excitement! Lol! We were welcomed warmly and guided to a table. I didn’t realize this place is here and of course no idea of what this place is really about. All I was excited about was the thought of eating a seven course meal! Meat! This place is good. This place is fast. This place is cheap! Yes the trifecta to make this first visit a good one. But– my expectation of a seven course dinner was so off! I was laughing at myself for expecting a seven course meal the only way I know how. This isn’t it. It’s not seven plates of beef cooked differently. This is the Asian style seven course. First and second course comes together. The third I think came alone. While the fourth-seventh came in one plate. Yeah. Lol! Funny thing happens when you’re not familiar with things. Also I truly don’t like eating taco because of the mess. So guess what? Here one of their dish was a wrap that you do yourself. I think I did pretty well considering I didn’t douse myself with sauce or no food fell off my wrap and it held up pretty well from my hand to my mouth. That short travel usually is very dangerous for me :) food scatter is very likely. Overall a fun experience with two good friends. One who is an expert on this place and two of us lost. Thanks my pet! You’re one of a kind!
