Pineapple agua fresca is delicious($ 2.79 for a large). Review for agua fresca only. As an agua(fresca)holic, I’m always looking for taquerias that offer more than the circulating generic horchata, jamaica, and tamarindo flavors to get my fix. De Los Altos offers three kinds — flavors change daily.

This has to be the best hands down Mexican Resturant. Had lunch last week, it was delicious! Had the chicken taco salad. And also had chicken with cheese taco. Both were perfect! Everything is freshly made and you can taste it. I highly recommend eating here.

So I came about a week ago, very hesitant I must say. Thank good we tried this place cuz I am officially hooked. The first time I came I bought. A sope(2.99) and it was pretty good in size and absolutely delicious. The sope its self was crunchy yet soft on the inside. The toppings and Al pastor were very flavorful! I also got two tacos(2.29 ea) the crane asada was the perfect balance of burnt crunchiness and softness. Mmm Mmm Mmm. My daughter got a bowl of pozole(just putting it our there she is a tough critic) and she absolutely loved it! So of course I had to try, to my surprise it was delicious. There was such pork and it was super tender and full of flavor. My only critique was I could have preferred more hominy. Today I ordered a quesadilla suiza(meat cheese and salsa). Super huge!!! For the price its a great deal. Again absolutely delicious! All in all a great find! oh did I mention they have a complimentary chips and salsa and a salsa bar in this cute Lil fridge. Very clean place and staff is friendly!

I was excited to try this spot out however I was very disappointed in my order! I had a shrimp burrito and was sorry I did! The shrimp were not deveined and unseasoned the rice was flavorless and salsa was horrible! So much for a close taqueria near work

Came here with some coworkers for lunch. Ordered pozole since the weather is cold and a soup sounds just right. Food came in decent time. Food is fresh. People are nice. The place looks clean and rather spacious. Oh, and their chips are yummy. So definitely a yes, and will come back.

Fast service, salsa bar, good portions, taste is good and they have the cleanest bathroom for taqueria. If your nearby, good place to stop.

We come here a couple times a month after our daughters baseball practice. Normally the food is good, the meat does have more fat in it then other places, and the pico and salsas are flooded with onions. But we went in tonight and ordered our food without pico and without salsa, because we’re not a fan of onions. However, the lady taking my order was just staring at my husband the entire time and messed up our order. I’m not a jealous type, you can stare all you want, but at least get my order right! Neither my children nor my husband ate their dinners because it tasted so much like onions! What a waste of money! I’d rather go down the street to Las Vegas Taqueria or Burrito Express where they actually pay attention to the person ordering.

Came in here the other day with my boyfriend while I was house-sitting. We had passed it a few times, and were curious. It was essentially empty when we went in. Quick look at the menu — I had the enchilada plate(with carnitas as my choice of meat), and the boyfriend had nachos with chorizo. First off: my plate was ENORMOUS. I wasn’t expecting three enchiladas. There was also a healthy portion of refried beans and rice, shredded lettuce(which I ate like a salad — I’ve never been a fan of putting lettuce ontop of my enchiladas), sour cream and guacamole. And it was DELICIOUS. I couldn’t finish the entire thing, so I took the rest back to the place I was at for later. Boyfriend barely managed to finish his nacho plate. It’s too bad I don’t live closer to this place, because it reminds me of my grandmother’s cooking.

Agreed, 3.5 stars. It’s biggest plus is the location, it’s pretty centrally located for the area and was the closest Mexican food place to my old job. Carna Asada fries were good in terms of ingredients/qualities, but they were just plopped on top of the fries in gloppy lines — it made it hard to get an even amount of everything in each bite. The inside is super nice and open, the workers were friendly, the food came out fast. Definitely a decent place to eat overall.

So this is one of my boyfriend favorite places to eat Mexican food. They have a lot of meat choices but most of their choices were different burritos. I ordered the beef steak burrito which some of the meats were burnt and it was flavorless so I rather had gone somewhere else to eat. My boyfriend also had a burrito but with beef tongue which he really loves. The service was nice and friendly. And the restaurant is clean. They also gave chips and salsa as a side here.

Really loved their breakfast burrito– I got mine without meat. Their cheese was AMAZING. And staff was so nice. I have four stars because if you are super hungry this burrito isn’t massive like other breakfast burritos I have had. But still. I loved it. Also, you can’t get your salsa and chips yourself. They bring it to you(and it’s not very much) if you’re like us and love a lot of salsa and chips it’s gonna start getting awkward getting up to ask so many times. And if you are ordering to go and want more salsa they charge 1 $.

Just had a scrumptious breakfast burrito here. They had two options: chorizo or jamon. I picked jamon. Went here around 11am… very nice staff and got my food fairly quick. TIP: Ask for the burrito to be grilled so the tortilla gets crispy. You won’t regret it. Would definitely come back again. Thanks for starting off my Monday with a wonderful meal!

Got the shrimp burrito here. It was $ 8.99. I generally enjoyed it but there were some things I think they can improve upon. Pros: 1) Pretty decent amount of shrimp 2) Good flavor: It has some kind of salsa inside the burrito so I guess its a lil diff from some of the places Ive had. 3) Burrito itself was pretty big. Like a log and I think it weighed like 2 – 3 pounds lol Cons: 1) The burrito and the ingredients came out lukewarm. I think i woulda enjoyed it more if it was hotter. 2) No salsa bar. You gotta ask them for extra salsa if you want to put it on ur burrito since one salsa packet isnt really enough. 3) For some reason all the shrimp was on one side and the rice on the other. I guess they layered it so when it was rolled up it came out like that. I think a more even distribution woulda been better but I guess im jus nitpicking. On a side note, the salsa tastes like the tomatoey stuff u get at the market. I enjoyed it but it didnt seem like the kinds u get at most taquerias. Overall Id probably give this place more of a 3.5. Its pretty solid and theyre pretty quick. Ill most likely stop by to try the other stuff.

Friendly people here. De Los Altos was the only eatery open before 11 a.m. so i tried .them. taqueria menu looks typical. pricing is higher than oaktown, probably similar to the mission, s.f. Burritos 8ish. eats: fish/lengua taco(2.29) –double layer of tortillas, may have been flour, was so soft. –tender small cubes of juicy lenguq, some veggies. –fish gently griilled/fried? not sure which. no breading lots of veggies. tasted fresh –minimal salsa used. fab fresh taste. crumbs: –didn’t see salsa bar, didn’t really look. –food cooked to order from kitchen, not scooped from prepared trays in front. –fresh food, portions not small, so good value given. –no chips given, don’t really care about chips anyways.

3.5 stars. I’m happy that something has finally replaced the spot where Joe The Greek used to be. M and I are not fans of Las Vegas Taqueria so we were excited for this place to open. I ordered #18, the suiza quesadilla with al pastor. M ordered the carnitas enchiladas. We agreed that this place is better than LV Taqueria. The portions are filling. Both items were good but nothing spectacular. Will this place knock your socks off? No, but for locals, I can see this place doing really well. I’d love to see a salsa bar added at some point, but they are more than happy to give you hot salsa on the side.
