I JUST found out this place is temporarily closed :( Love this fresh choice because it’s close to work. I usually come here during lunch to grab food for take out. They supply a decently sized box to put as much you can from the salad bar for a little over $ 6(tax included), or for a little extra you can get the pizza/pasta/soup. I love this fresh choice because the staff is very friendly. They actually go out of their ways to greet each customer :) LOVE! They always keep the food salad bar VERY clean and we all know how messy it can get transferring the food to our plates… Sometimes they don’t put out the usual ingredients, but if you ask they’ll pull some out of the fridge. Uhh… AWESOME! Parking is the mall parking so it can get a bit crazy during peak hours.

Food was okay. It would be great if there are more choices for desserts, but you pretty much get what you pay for. I was positively surprised that the service was quite good. The location of this Fresh Choice is at the Great Mall. Parking during lunch time was a pain. One more thing… it is much better than Hometown Buffet!

Havent been to a fresh choice ever since i discovered sweet tomatoes, 5+ years ago. But I have to say I was quite impressed they have improved since what i last remembered. A lot of choices for vegetables, more soups, their pasta is still meh, but I come here for the soups and salads mainly. I take that back, they do have a killer macaroni and olive salad. Dont get the artichokes here, they are as hard as rocks. I enjoyed the clam chowder, and chicken soup. Prices for lunch is around the same as sweet tomato, something like $ 8.69 or so. I dont know why all the bad reviews, honestly wasnt bad.

Used to come to Fresh Choice a lot back then, the food was great, smelled great also. Don’t know what happened, but the food now is just«eh». They’re mediocre at times, but it doesn’t taste and smell the same as before, when i first came in. Please try to upgrade or bring fresh items out to the dessert and food dishes please.

I used to love Fresh Choice, but what happened??? Not much selection any more. Salads were just okay, not enough choices for salad toppings. I didn’t try the soups. Corn bread was good. Desserts? What desserts? Nothing great about it.

sad.sad.and more sad. Sweet Tomato is wayyy better. This place is more expensive, and yea you DO get MEAT dishes, but damn the quality. The ONLY thing that’s good is the selection of salad items. The other dishes I can care less. Not enough soup variety and the pizza is all crap. The dessert… wait. WHAT dessert? Seriously, the people who work there doesn’t even care, and it’s dirty(especially the bathroom OMG)…tables are blah. the whole environment is lame. hardly ANYONE is there! I wouldn’t want to come back to this joint at all. This is my second time here, and I thought my first was the worst! I really wanted to give this place a second try. but man. maybe if you only want a salad, grab it to go. other than that. umm no.go to Chipotle in the mall instead. at least it’s organic.

More like Rotten Choice! I was just there yesterday and by far everything was gross… Started with the Cesar Salad which was runny, choices were limited and were made up with chips at the salad and pasta bad, greasy pizza. soup was ok, but they could not even get brownies right, so stale! Far from clean either, place was run down as I was sitting in a booth that had red tape covering the rips. I been to almost to every Fresh Choice in the south bay. Sunnyvale, Vallco Mall, Westgate, and by far this was the worst. Go elsewhere!!!

Whoa, the salad selection! $ 8 something per person during lunchtime, which gets you unlimited access to salad, which is always fresh and offers a broad selection — I usually go with my blend of kale, Asian, and Caesar’s. Any additional salmon/chicken servings will be added on to the flat rate of $ 8. Under the salad bar, which you’ll see right off the bat, they also had some macaroni salad, which is another favorite of mine, build-your-own phở with slices of lemon, cilantro, green onion, bean sprouts, jalapeño peppers, which I also get sometimes, even though the broth can be off on some days. Last time we went, it just seemed like they poured some water in to dilute it! But other times, it was very unusually rich. Their clam chowder soup is on point. They even have those little crackers that go with it, which I thought was cute. Spaghetti and either veggie marinara or meat sauce is alright, it’s edible. Baked potatoes can be too baked at times, but you can cover that up I guess with cheese, sour cream, and lots of butter! I quite like the brown bread with butter, and the new white chocolate brownies with the lactose-free ice cream just hits the spot. Their fruit selections during the winter weren’t all that great, just some sour oranges and bland watermelon pieces.

I came here on a Tuesday for dinner and it was really bad! There were 3 kinds of pre-made salads, which is a good variety. But later when I ate them, I realized it had been sitting out for a long time because the croutons were super soggy from the salad dressing. Gross! Just the thought of eating salad that had been laying out for probably hours is disgusting. The salad bar had many toppings, but I could tell they weren’t maintained very well. For instance, the handle of the spoon was IN the hummus dip. That is so gross, I wanted some hummus but I didn’t want to eat it with people’s germs from the handlebar. The soups were bad too. You know how the soup containers inevitably have dried crusted soup on the sides? I saw a worker scrape the crusted soup off the sides, and put it back in the soup. Wtf??? GROSS! The pizza bar was decent, it wasn’t undercooked or anything. The baked potato bar looked unappetizing. Also, for the hour that we were there, no one bothered to take our dirty plates away! Not until almost the end of our meal, as we were about to get dessert. I had to eat my new plate on top of old stacked ones. :( All in all, I will probably never come back to this place. I’m giving it 2 stars because they provide $ 7.50 dinner coupons, and the location of the place is convenient. Otherwise, I’d choose Sweet Tomatoes over this place.

I was tempted to give them just 1 star but I felt bad about it. So here is the story, we went here earlier today because we like everyone else has the day off and were at the mall to waste some time inside and stay dry, we were not the only one’s with this idea. It was very busy and seemed like the staff was not ready to handle it by far. The person who rang us up was very short and asked us to wait for a table and she quickly rang us up and barked orders like SIGN(she meant«Please sign here» for the credit card). She told us to find the guy who was suppose to seat us after she had just told us to wait, very rude and confusing. I think what solidifies the bad review is that the food was just not that good. It had been a while since I last went to Fresh Choice and I remember better and more food choices then what they had today. It was soups, pasta, breads and pizzas, and dessert. I had a small slice of pizza it was not that great. The pasta sauce tasted terrible and I just threw it away. The best part would have to be the salad bar(long and slow line, soooo slooooooow) and it was a really nice they have locally grown produce as a choice. They ended up taking some of our plates while we were sitting, so that was nice. I was excited to get at the dessert portion. When I walked up some kids couldn’t get any yogurt out and a worker told them«Just try another flavor». The thing was that no one it was working… so in the end I and many other people were not able to get any dessert at all, pretty bad service. I understand they didn’t think about it being a national holiday and get extra help, but them being short mixed with the below average food just did not sit well with me and my date. I will look for other options from now one instead of going here.

The hubby and I dined here recently since I was craving greens. We typically dine at Sweet Tomatoes when we’re feeling salads and soups, but decided for a change of scenery. Let’s just say, we kept saying«This just does not compare.» Food looked like it’s been sitting awhile, especially the pasta bar and soups. We figured it’s because we got there early(around 6P on a Friday night) and that there weren’t a lot of customers yet. I used to love dining at Fresh Choice for over a decade, until I was introduced to Sweet Tomatoes. Don’t think I’ll be going back.

Fresh Choice you should be ashamed of yourself. Coming here tonight… I didn’t except gourmet but I do expect the food to be edible. Really disappointing!!!

The idea is very intuitive but I think the food needs to be tastier. Fresh choice seems like a popular spot and I like how it is a buffet for only $ 8! This place reminded me of the dining commons back when I was in college. Ahh the horror! I hate the food at the dining commons! Anyway, they do have really good salad here and the dessert items are pretty tasty.

It was my first time eating at Fresh Choice, and the food was good. I’ve always eaten at Sweet Tomatoes, so it was a nice change. I think the pre-made salads are better at Fresh Choice. The salad ingredients tasted fresher to me compared to Sweet Tomatoes. The sign at the front door said that 71% of the food is fresh. Anyway, I tried the seasonal menu items — bean salad and chipotle hummus. Yum. Soups were minimal — only 4 varieties. There wasn’t a lot of bread variety either. I had the blueberry muffin and the cornbread. The blueberry muffin was made out of real blueberries and was delicious. Sweet Tomatoes is better with the soups and breads. I didn’t try the pizza, but they were popular. With the coupon, dinner cost $ 7.99. Just sign up for the emails through email.

I do agree that they serve an abundance of healthy salads but it is more of a salad buffet than your regular buffet. Plus, the quality of the salad is a bit poor. The lettuce looks at least a couple days old and extremely vein-y. Sure they have soup, but their clam chowder is tasteless and the other selections weren’t very appetizing. The pizza looked extremely greasy and the cookies were burnt. It’s about 9.99 for a full buffet and 6.99 for a to-go box. Honestly I could have done without the full buffet. There weren’t that many choices at all other than the different kind of salads. OH if you want«chicken» it’s $ 1.99EXTRA for three strips of dry gross looking chicken. In my opinion my ten dollars could have been better spent else where for an actual FULL buffet. That’s pretty pricey for just salad! I’ve had better salad at Costco with tender chicken for about 3.99.If they are charging this much for veggies they should offer higher quality veggies.(ex: argula etc) I say just get the 6.99 to go box or simply go elsewhere.

I am still a fan. I still hate the layout of this place. You walk past the salad bar to pay initially before you go back and grab your tray/plate. I paid $ 19 for me, my Daughter, and a diet soda. rather much for a salad place but I guess they need to profit or break even somehow. For dinner, 2 lanes of the same selections are open. Same variety as I stated in my previous review. I can’t fathom why a person would go here and drench their plate w/bleu cheese and ranch dressing. One lady filled her plate w/hella croutons. but that is the guest that I am judging, not the restaurant. Ha. Since the calories were posted, I only stuck to romaine lettuce, grilled chicken, fresh onions, and fat-free Italian dressing. I know their clam chowder is actually very good but I opted out. Even their pasta, bread, and pizza selections. I should get a medal for maintaining my hunger. My empty plates were cleaned up pretty quickly. Aside from the terrible families that do not know how to discipline their children, ’twas a decent dining experience once again. I didn’t even do desserts. I so wanted chocolate ice cream w/chocolate syrup, marshmallows, chocolate chips, and more chocolate syrup. Though the calories per serving is about 110 – 130 but the sugar was sky high. no thanks!

I prefer Sweet Tomatoes/Souplantation over Fresh Choice… but Fresh Choice isn’t that bad of a choice… It’s certainly better for you than McDonalds! Sure it may be pricier, but there’s a special code you can text to a certain number that’ll give you a discount. The code and phone number is posted right at the entrance of Fresh Choice… you can’t miss it! Anyway, Fresh Choice has a pretty good amount of healthy options and lots of choices for you vegetarians/vegans/pescatarians. There’s a salad bar, pasta station, soup station, bakery station, and dessert station! Some things that stood out to me were that Fresh Choice has jicama, phở, and chipotle hummus with pita! Fresh Choice is a good alternative to the Great Mall food court. Just don’t eat too much of the«bad stuff»(pizza, ice cream, chocolate, etc.)! But if you do, at least you can walk a few laps around the mall to make yourself feel better. ;)

Fresh Choice is a good choice. As far as first choice? Ok, maybe I’d rather eat elsewhere. The truth? I would rather go to Sweet Tomatoes, but it’s still pretty good here and it’ll fill me up for a decent price. The food is good, the selection is ok, and the service is what it needs to be for a buffet place. For being attached to a mall, it’s actually very nice.

I’ve always came to this particular fresh choice. It’s usually really clean and the people are friendly. This time though, the salads at the salad bar were soggy, as if they were sitting there for a while. I thought it was suppose to be fresh?! I was a little disappointed. I guess i can’t judge the place fro mjust one experience. I’d still come here, i love those damn soups!
