This is my go-to noodles place! I love their rice noodles(thin) and their«ho fun»(thick one — homemade). The owner/waitress is friendly to us always, cos we go there all the times… Very«asian”/homey style types of food. Salted duck, drunken chicken, beef shank, beef stew noodles soup(less spicy pls) and snow vege rice noodles are my favorites. Their free milk tea tastes better than some of places where you actually have to pay! My favorite of all time!

Went here for lunch. Very affordable prices and tasty dishes. The downside is the place is small and cash only. I ordered the seafood noodles while my friend ordered the shrimp and egg(scrambled eggs with shrimp). The seafood noodles was very tasty,. I’m all about the broth when it comes to soup and it hit the spot. The shrimp and egg was also good, the egg was nice and fluffy and the shrimp was cooked just right and not chewey. Will come back if I’m in the area.

this place is alright. i have one thing against it, and this one thing makes me never want to come back here again; the owner lady ASKED for her tip. my friends and i came in here, and we were a group of 7. she asked one of my friends THREETIMES for tip while he was paying, and as we all left, she called us back in because the tip we gave her wasn’t enough. it’s also not like we don’t give tip, but being asking for it is a little rude, don’tcha think? i definitely think so. the food here is also very mediocre. it does the trick though for certain cravings. the hot and sour soup is pretty good, but nothing extraordinary. all of their dishes, you can get the same or better in that area. the only thing good about this place is that it’s open late night, but then again, several of the other places around there are open at that hour. BLEH, the whole asking for a tip thing really made me not like this place. plus, their«free milk tea» is code for«free stummy ache»):

This is mashed in with a bunch of other places in this plaza. This place is usually over looked by the China Palace right next to it. Service: The guy was friendly but not very attentive. It’s a small place and usually there isn’t much people in it. But he was more interested in playing games than really serving. But it didn’t bother me too much because when we did ask for something, he got it for us right away. Food: The food was decent, except for the… steamed pork dumplings(siu luung bao) — which were digusting beyond compare! Pork Noodle Soup — Good flavoring, a little to heavy on the seasoning. The noodles were good, but nothing near homemade noodles which is what I expected since their name was house of noodles. Green onion pancakes — small, but really tasty. It was my favorite dish our of everything. Also when I left I noticed a sign on the window that said free boba milk tea with purchase. I didn’t get my milk tea =( Overall: It’s not a great place and there are better places just right in the plaza or the plaza next to it. But I would still recommend if the other chinese places were too packed.

Wanted to find pig feet noodles(Taiwanese birthday tradition), and google pointed me its way and decided to give it a try. Phoned in the order and was ready when I arrived. Taste is fine but not what I expected(not Taiwanese style); it was soy-braised and on the heavy side with seasoning. The feet(or knuckle or foot) was mostly bone and not much meat, but the prize is still the tender chewy yet melt-in-your-mouth skin. Overall it’s satisfying but not really what I had in mind. Friendly owner. Very ambitious menu(i.e. LOTS of items; covering northern and southern Chinese cuisines, and TAIWAN!), which leads me to believe either they have 3 chefs each specializes in particular cuisine, or just one cook who tries to do it all but can’t possibly be good at everything. But you gotta give points for trying!

Strange that this noodle house is so much better than that China… whatever right next to it. It’s too damn bad no one goes here… perhaps it’s the way they time their restaurant. If anyone gets a chance to read their menu with their business hours… 11AM-10PM…10PM-3AM… Well disregarding their business hours, their noodles are actually pretty good. I usually order their five spice beef noodles or something of that nature. Has a very hearty taste and the noodles taste pretty good. Aside from that, their stinky tofu is indeed… stinky… but my girlfriend loves it… SOKUDOS!

Ehhh. I would have given this place two stars but everything’s so cheap that I had to give it a star for that. Me and my friends came here. We had the green onion pancake which was very dry and hard. We also had the xiao long bao which were not as juicy as they should be. I was sad to find out that there was not a lot of clear soupy broth rushing in my mouth after putting the whole bao in my mouth. The rou gen mi fen was okay, but the noodles I didn’t like so much — They were kind of hard unlike the regular mi fen that is very soft. I would say that the sa-cha fried rice was the best thing we had because it was on point with taste. The rice was also not too dry. The best thing here was that the service was great! She was very nice! Love that this place is open late night… which is weird because we stayed there until 1:30 and they were already closing up!

When I came in, I was greeted right away by a nice woman. She could barely speak English but I appreciated the effort. My hubby and I were under the impression that this was my friend’s family restaurant but after texting her, I wasn’t at the right restaurant. But I had already ordered a crapload of food and wanted to enjoy it! I ordered the Five Spice Noodle bowl. The broth was FANTASTIC and the meat inside my soup was really soft and well marinated. It was great. The noodles in the bowl tasted a little plain though. I wish it was cooked in the broth a little longer so the flavor settled in more and so that the noodles was cooked longer. He ordered the House Special Casserole and a bowl of white rice to go with it. This soup had lots of veggies, meat, and clear noodles. I thought mine tasted better but my hubby absolutely loved his. We also ordered the Beef Chow Fun as well as the Green Onion Pan Cake. The beef chow fun was like your typical chow fun. Simple and tasty! The green onion pancake was so delicious! I like this place because everything reminded me of a different culture. They have udon noodles that is more of a japanese feel. The pan cakes they had are like the bread in indian cultures, just without the curry. The soup casseroles reminded me of a korean tofu noodles house. We paid $ 22 with tax for 3 entrees and an appetizer? CRAZY. I didn’t finish my soup because I had a little bit of the green onion pan cake and a few bites of the chow fun. I had a tiny taste of my hubby’s soup. He was so hungry he ate everrrrryyythinnnnnngggg! I’m glad my money went to good use hahaha. I love the prices and variety here. Although it got kind of annoying with service because I am not taiwanese and I had to ask for certain things, I can’t deny the tasty food and great prices. I’ll definitely be coming back.

Chris and I came to the plaza, supposedly to eat at China Palace. It was closed… so we ended up looking at this place’s menu posted from the outside of the restaurant… and the dishes looked delish. there were a few diners there, considering it was after midnight… so alrightie… we decided to give it a try. We weren’t that hungry so we decided to stick to 2 items. We got 2 House Specials… the Chicken and the Fried Rice… The fried rice was good. it had bits and pieces of imitation crab. okay. maybe more of like 4 thin slices of imitation crab. and maybe 4 small pieces of shrimp. I guess for the price you pay, it was pretty decent. and the portion is well more than enough for 2 people. The house special chicken… let’s see. Let me put it this way. if you’re lazy at the moment and you don’t want to deal with bones, Don’t order this. the pieces were obviously from a small chicken that it seemed to be popcorn chicken inserted with bones. it’s like a mini oxtail beef but in chicken.(does that make sense?).it never occured to me that chicken can be soo. bony?! Although. don’t get me wrong. the dish was actually pretty tasty. the sauce was thick and after being tired with the bones, i ended up fishing for thin slices of ginger; as Chris finished all the pieces of chicken. This place is Cash Only. just like a few other places in that plaza. I guess next time, i’ll try the Noodles.

CASHONLY. I came here for the first time last week. They have an extensive menu and I would love to go back and try out their other items. I give them four stars for the items I ordered. I had: Simmered Beef Noodle Soup. It’s Taiwanese style with pickled mustard and the soup is slightly sweet and spicy. I think this place has the best Taiwanese style beef noodle soup I’ve had so far, but I’m always in search of something better. ( ) Egg with Green Onion Pan Cake. I thought it would be the traditional green onion pancake with the tortilla-like dough and scrambled eggs on top, but it was just all egg with green onions. It was good, but not something I would order again as I prefer the tortilla-style pancake. (Picture: ) Szechuan Beef Tendon. This is a cold appetizer with thinly sliced pieces of beef tendon, slivers of ginger and some green onion – all marinated in a peppercorn-spicy sauce. Delicious! (Picture: ) Prices of the dishes are very reasonable. almost dirt cheap!

Cheap chinese food. It’s exactly the same as New China delight next door. $ 5 – 7 chinese dishes with 200 selections and free milk tea and boba. The service was nice and really fast. I ordered(after seeing pics on the walls) the spicy seafood chow mein. It was pretty tasty 3.5 stars. It had real fish, real calamari, imitation crab, lots of veggies, tons of noodles, and even many pieces of beef(that’s not seafood! ha). I liked it though. My friend ordered dry pork noodles and it was pretty gross. Just noodles and udon, 1.5 star for lack of flavor or variety. I’d try it again for a simple meal though.

Cheap food but not really that great. I was certainly expecting better noodles dishes from a place that calls itself«House of Noodles». Was craving porridge and saw that on their menu. Only to find to find out later that it wasn’t available. Ordered the noodle soup combo(with beef cheek and beef shank) and the cold noodles with shredded chicken and cucumber instead. Not impressed. They used the same noodles for both dishes. The noodles were too soft and not chewy enough. The broth for the noodle lacks flavor. To be fair, I think the quality is in line with the price they are charging(which is very modest). Portion is generous. If you just want cheap food to fill you up this is not a bad place to dine.

This place deserves a 3.5 star rating, and the average rating for this place is about right. Located in a really tiny place with about 6 – 7 tables at most, House of Noodles caters more of the north side of Chinese cuisine. If you’re looking for cheap food, you can come here for any 3 dishes + soup for $ 15.95; if you want rice, you pay a little extra. The taste also exceeds what you pay for, so I’d say it’s a good«bang for your buck». What I strongly advise ordering here, though, is the Beijing Yogurt as a dessert or maybe even as a drink. They offer both a honey and original flavor, and you can’t go wrong with either — it’s made fresh, and the taste is certainly very interesting. I believe if you order certain dishes, you’ll also get a free milk tea with pearls. I have yet to try the drink, though. You’ll need to know how to speak Mandarin to communicate with the waiters to avoid confusion, though.

3 stars, would have been higher if the other dishes were any better. I’ve been here twice with my family. Mostly for them to try taiwanese food and stinky tofu. Oddly enough, they never had stinky tofu before. I don’t blame them because it’s an acquired taste. Visit 1: Came with father, uncle, and grandmother. We ordered 2 goupy dishes(taiwanese seems to like their cornstarch) and the stinky tofu. They had a hard time eating the food. My father was scared of the stinky tofu smell. It was quite an experience. Visit 2: Came with aunt and grandmother. I entered the wrong store by accident. They had no customers! The other taiwanese place was packed for lunch, but I asked and they had no stinky tofu. We ordered soup and some noodle dish(safe for my grandmother to try since she’s not super adventurous). My aunt didn’t like the food very much either. The fun part is that my grandmother seems to grow a liking taste to the stinky tofu, even though she fears malodorous edibles. It took her maybe 50 years to finally try durian. Very small shop, family owned. They have everything in chinese writing so bring someone who can read! There are pictures plastered on the wall too so I’m sure you can point. I would probably come back only for the stinky tofu. The other food is just 2 stars, stinky tofu is 4 stars. Probably but it to-go and stink up the car? Or maybe just sit on those patio benches outside and eat there. Price range is from low to fair. Another bonus is that they give free boba if you eat there! Super awesome. I love these little perks that the small shops give out.

Quality food. Fast service. I ordered the Tofu sea food, veggie clay pot; it arrived in ten minutes, chocked full of tofu’s, sea food and veggies. Also, ordered some hot, steamy rice, which was very good. Good food, nice service.

House of Noodles is sort of a hole in a wall place — little restaurant, cheap prices, and lots of strips of paper with Chinese specials written in Mandarin decorating all available wall space. Noteworthy: You get a free pearl milk tea or iced black tea with your food order. The menu was extensive — lots of Taiwanese specialties that had my mouth watering. We settled on the«House Special Chicken»(aka San Bei Ji = 3 cup chicken) and the Seafood Tofu Claypot. Both dishes were about $ 5.95. The chicken was very tasty. I love the sauce. It’s made with 1 cup soy sauce, 1 cup oil, and 1 cup rice wine. And basil. Hmm. So good with rice. Could use more basil leaves. The seafood tofu was ok. Nothing to shout about. A few shrimps, some squid pieces, lot of fried tofu squares, woodear mushroom, and sliced zucchini. It was nice and hot and fresh though. The contents were bubbling when it arrived. Love that. This place is definitely a family establishment. A lot of regulars came by while we were eating. There was even a table of 15 seniors celebrating some momentous occasion by eating out. I suppose it was a good sign they chose House of Noodles. I may not come for my big bday bash, but I’d come to fulfill cheap Taiwanese food cravings.

This is is okkayyyyy that’s about it, I liked the next door place better. I went with the special: Noodles with stewed pork and smoked duck. Farm got the 5 spices noodle. my noodles were the fat/wide rice noodles which IMO are yummier. The broth was simple, and other than some baby bok choy, that was it for the noodles. For the stewed pork, I was pretty surprised as I was expecting something like… Santa Ramen type pork, but I got Chinese style stewed pork. Duhhhh I’m in a Chinese noodle house. Chinese stewed pork is a chunk of pork with only a few mm’s of meat surrounded by ½ inch + of fat. It tastes pretty sweet. The duck was fine, too bad it wasn’t bbq’d or have tasty crunchy skin. The 5 spice noodle is the thing to order here. The broth is flavorful and they include slices of pork that’s very tasty. For the price and experience, I would recommend this place.

We were lured in by the promise of housemade noodles. They’re not the hand-pulled variety(too bad). The set-up is fairly typical for a no-frills, caters to Chinese, homestyle, inexpensive eatery — simple décor, the cheesy waterfall picture, and specials written in Chinese covering every wall. The menu(which is in English & Chinese) is MASSIVE — over 240 items: fried rice($ 4.95), chow mein, noodle soup($ 5.95), chow fun, clay pots, casseroles, stew, cold appetizer dishes, dumplings, pancakes, etc. It’s Chinese comfort food. We didn’t get free pearl tea but we did receive a dish of housemade pickled cucumbers — crunchy, light and refreshing. The food arrived VERY quickly(I’m not sure how they managed to be that fast). * Simmered beef noodle soup — the spicy broth was deep and beefy(not herbal) but too salty, the beef chunks were stringy, the thick noodles were soft but al dente. Also comes with bok choy. Satisfying, generous portion for $ 5.95. * Seafood spicy chow mein soup($ 5.95) — same noodles as in the simmered beef noodle soup, a deep, flavorful spicy curry broth, comes with fish cake slices, onions, carrots, beef, etc. Not much seafood but what can one expect for $ 5.95. Tastier than the beef noodle soup, also on the salty side. They probably use too much soy sauce in the broth? The Chinese name of the restaurant is North/South dishes, so it’s hard to say what the specialties are by region(probably more Shanghainese and Taiwanese than anything else). Both noodle soups were recommended by our server. Though I wouldn’t give this place four stars based on the noodle soups, the fact that they offer STINKYTOFU(plus the pig’s blood & intestines casserole that I like) means they deserve special recognition. Also, the service is fast, the portions are generous and the prices are so reasonable. Cash only.

Dirt cheap, huge portions, and open late? This is the perfect place for a meal. Sure the cleanliness isn’t that great, and unless you speak mandarin there might be a bit of a communication barrier, but the food is pretty spot on. I’d recommend sticking with the noodle and soup dishes. The more americanized chinese dishes are a bit too heavily dependant on cornstartch to tenderize their meat. My personal favorite is the Ground Pork Dry Noodle, but most their other soups are pretty great too!
