The place is OK. The vegetables aren’t exactly fresh, which is why this place doesn’t get 4 stars. I found myself picking out old cilantro. I don’t mind paying higher prices for Viet sandwiches, as long as the quality keeps up like«other» sandwich places. I never understood why people expect a Viet sandwich to be cheaper anyway. The ingredients all cost about the same, but I digress. I like how they give a fried egg upgrade. All things taste better with fried egg. The place has an interesting feel to it. There’s basically two stores in one. A bambu and Le moulin and it looks like you order both from one register. It would look better if they would just split entirely.

We had a grilled chicken and a bbq pork mini banh-mi as they were out of their regular sized buns. My grilled chicken was decent but I wished the pickled vegetables were more evenly spread out as that is what differentiates a banh-mi from any other sandwich. I wished the chicken had more seasoning but it was not bad at all. K’s banh-mi didn’t have any jalapeño which, to us, is a very significant ingredient. She said the bbq pork does not seem to have marinated long enough as she could taste merely plain shreds of pork. The buns/demi-baguettes were warm, fresh, and nicely toasted; the light crunchiness of the crust with the soft body made it really good. K had a pandan-coconut waffle that she really liked. I didn’t get to taste it but she said she would love to have that again. For me, the earl-gray macaron ice-cream sandwich was simply fantastic! The macarons retained their texture, and the ice-cream was thick and delicious. Finally, the girl at the counter was very friendly and helpful. Service wise they are four-stars.

Don’t see why this place carries around such a low rating, my experience wasn’t bad at all. I assume it would be from their sandwiches but I went strictly for desserts. They had a myriad of choices within the macaron ice cream sandwiches and I wanted to try at least 4, but I opted for just the cookies and cream. Really not a bad snack to have after a somewhat heavy dinner as it was very diaphanous and didn’t leave me feeling slow at all. The macarons themselves were just the right texture as I didn’t have to work hard at all to get through to the ice cream innards. Also the ice cream wasn’t cold to the point where it would make my teeth tingle. Very simple and refreshing, would definitely come back to sample more flavours.

The warm crusty bread is delicious. So far, I have tried the vegetarian and egg s/w’s. They were both delicious, but I wish the vegetarian one had more stuff in it.

I didn’t expect to come here as often as I have been for lunch during the weekdays. I’m not sure why other Unilocalers experienced lack of meat and un-tasty sandwiches here, but maybe they have a more experienced banhmi palette than I do. I only have Thanh Huong, Lee’s, and a few other random places in North/East SJ I’ve tried to compare with. I always order #1 here, which I think is Dac Biet(Special) Banh mi. I may have tried a grilled meat version, but I don’t remember it. All the different meats in the combination sandwich have so much flavor to it and tastes fresh. The bread’s got a nice crispy, yet soft texture and a buttery flavor. It did scratch the roof of my mouth a few times, leaving me in pain, but it didn’t stop me from coming back. The loaf is not too big or thick(or bready, for lack of better terms). There’s a good ratio of bread to filling. Some places have good bread, but just too much bread and not enough filling to balance. I love the fact that you can order a mini sized sandwich because I’m always lured into buying the green pandan waffle that’s next to the register and feel bad for getting a full-sized sandwich and waffle for lunch. The waffle is almost the same price as the mini sandwich, which doesn’t seem like it’s a good deal, but I can’t resist. The combination is great! I also don’t have much experience with pandan waffles, so maybe I’m missing out on better ones out there, but this one is good enough for me. It’s made fresh, so it’s not one of those that’s been sitting there & reheated. The few times I’ve had it, it was crispy & chewy, which I’m fine with. They do take a while to make a sandwich, but it’s never been so long that I had to bug them about it. And I’ve had really friendly service each time I’ve gone there. Just eat it slowly and carefully so the bread doesn’t scratch the roof of your mouth! Writing this makes me want to go get a sandwich again.

Delicious! Loving everything here! Music, food, service, etc.!! The manager is super nice too! I’m also loving how there is a Bambu near here, great for sandwiches and drinks. Totally bringing my friends next time. Thank you Le Moulin and Bambu! P. s hopefully there might be another Le Moulin around here soon, needing one in Los Angeles! Also, it’s a great place for visiting, since I live in the greater LA area.

$ 4.75 for one Maven’s macaron Ice cream sandwich $ 1 for one small(think a little like a Hawaiian sweet roll, but not as tall and fluffy) I had one Pâté Chaud there while I was waiting for my hair cut next door. Kinda pricey for one small pâté chaud. they had a deal for 4 for $ 3 or something, but I didn’t wanna eat that much. The ice cream sandwich is pretty big and delicious, would recommend those!!! Still pricey… but hey, they are gourmet macarons, what do you expect =)

Le Moulin is not Le Moulin Rouge like in Paris, a strip/dance club of old fame and glory. Although this location used to be a nail salon, so there are some feminine/beauty links, but that is a long stretch of the Fickled Finger of Fate. Le Moulin might be called Le Moulin Verte,(green instead of red, en Francaise) because they do serve green waffles, or Pandan Coconut Waffles to be more exact. But their mainstay offering is Banh Mi. Not to be confused with«Ban Me» because I am dancing Topless in a San Jose suburb like I would at Le Moulin Rouge Paris, but Banh Mi because I have very spicy, tasty and juicy meat in between my Buns. Not like a strip club in Paris, but like a sandwich shop in Vietnam. In the same location is Bambu Desserts, that franchise of Asian styled desserts and hot and cold Boba drinks. Not to be confused with Le Moulin Rouge and hot and cold Boobs to drink in. I had a #5, Banh Mi Ga Nuong, which means grilled chicken sandwich dans le Pan. Pan as in French bread bun. Not to be confused with Buns that go with those Le Moulin Rouge top(less) that might get you to Ban Me, in San Jose. If Le Moulin’s name gets you thinking of something hot and fresh, a la Le Moulin Rouge a Paris, try the Waffle. It is Asian Pandan, not French Pan Dame, but you could consider it Belgium, and although close geographically to France, that is a long stretch of the Fickled Finger of Fate. Do you want Crytal Gel on the nails of your Fickled Finger of Fate?

We ordered 3 sandwiches; 2 bbq pork veggies on the side and 1 bbq pork belly. When I got home, I went to check my sandwich which was the bbq pork belly, I was going to add a hot sauce when I noticed a big fly carcass wrapped between the cilantro and the meat. I just lost my appetite. I’m going to return these sandwiches tomorrow because they are closed and I hope they can give me a full refund. Be careful people make sure to check your sandwiches first before eating…

As the Duke of Le Moulin, I would like to resign from this dukedomship. I shall no longer be eating here. I take my previous review back. Le Moulin lost a couple stars because I just went there, and not only did the girl get my order wrong, but I watched her just stand there while my sandwich sat in the window. It wasn’t even busy. She was just making green waffles and staring at the waffle machine. I was about to say something, but someone in the kitchen yelled at her to put the order out. To make things worse, not only was it the wrong sandwich, but the bread was barely toasted and all chewy. I won’t be back here again.

A lot of twofers poppin’ up(twofer, at least in the context of restaurants, are two restaurants sharing the same space). This one is partnered up with Bambu. The order is centralized on the Le Moulin«side». You order there(cash only) then wait for your sandwiches on the Le Moulin«side» or pick up your drinks from the Bambu«side». It was pretty happening for a Sunday afternoon. The Boy and I decided to pick up sandwiches on the way home. We got in as a lady was asking(kind of aggressively, I might add) to purchase bread. The cashier responded that they didn’t have any. She then asked for bread and butter. The cashier responded again that they didn’t have any and he didn’t know what kind of deal [the lady] and the other people in the kitchen made. It was a very awkward conversation… maybe could’ve been handled a little better. Anyway, she was not a very happy customer. She also didn’t get boba in the drink(which she may or may not have asked for). ANYWAY. We ordered our food. There are mini and regular sized sandwiches. We planned to be hungry when we ate so we got the regular. Regular is a size of a small french loaf. Lee’s sandwich sized. Their bread is a little doughier. The meat was pretty good but in terms of ratio of bread to meat, they could’ve had more. They also sold sesame balls… but they had flies landing and taking off on them. Probably should cover it up. The cashier was also selling green waffles which smelled amazing(one for $ 1.75). Maybe next time(I love waffles).

I ordered 12 sandwiches in advance. They called me when they were done. I got there after they called me and the sandwiches were not done yet. Minus 1 star. The sandwiches were good, I’d go back. I recommend calling in advance to order. They are a little slow.

I’ve been to this place about 3 times now, mainly because it’s located near the gym. I really wanted to like this place, the customer service is so nice. The first time I came, I got one of their mini sandwiches, and I liked their bread. The second time I came, I got the regular size, the bread was different, I wasn’t too fond of it. The third time, I wanted Bánh cun, but I got there to find out that they will no longer sell this item. So the lady at the counter suggested that I try to pork and shrimp spring rolls instead. I did, but they were on the bland side to me, and the peanut sauce didn’t help much. For anyone who was here at this location when it was New Bambu, the food here now will not match the delicious beef, steak and egg sandwich that they used to have :(

I never ever heard of this place before, but randomly discovered it in the corner of a Milpitas plaza next to a Vietnamese restaurant I was going to eat at for dinner. I made a quick visit just to check out the menu, and I was really surprised that they had more Vietnamese sandwich options than what one typically sees at a Vietnamese sandwich store. I ordered the Pork Vietnamese sandwich(haven’t tried it yet), but they have many more choices to choose from so definitely check that out! Also, you can even add in a fried egg for a $ 1.00, and I’ve never seen that offer anywhere else. Furthermore, they serve my favorite Pandan Green Vietnamese waffles too for $ 1.75 each! What a steal: D Their Vietnamese waffles have a really strong and tasty flavor that other places lack so I’d definitely recommend trying these as well. It’s funny because I actually walked into the store three times and the cashier joked with me everytime I came back«See you soon!» because I literally kept walking back into the store every couple of minutes: the first time to purchase my sandwich, the second time to purchase a Vietnamese waffle, and finally a third time to purchase another Vietnamese waffle because my sister devoured the first one that I bought, haha! The employees are really nice, helpful, and sweet here :) So yeah… Vietnamese sandwiches and Vietnamese Green waffles, how can you even resist?!

I came here yesterday with my wife and sister-in-law, we all were pretty disappointed with this place. The first thing that you notice is the sandwiches are pretty expensive, their smaller sandwich was about the price of a full sandwich at other Vietnamese sandwich shops. We decided to try it anyways since we were already there. The wait was incredibly long, I didn’t look at the time, but I am guessing about 20 – 30 minutes to make three sandwiches. In the time I was waiting, my wife and sister-in-law went down to Tapioca Express and ordered drinks, then went next door to the bakery and picked some items from there, sat in the car for awhile waiting for me, and finally came back to the store to see what was taking so long. I think the cashier saw we were annoyed and only told us that it would be soon, the cook made the wrong sandwich. So we got home and got ready to eat, and took a look at the sandwiches and they were a huge letdown. All three sandwiches there were way more greens then meat. So much so I thought at first my sandwich didn’t have any meat in it, and I had to dig a bit in the sandwich to find any. They must be making a huge profit on not putting very much meat in the sandwich. I still don’t know what took so long to make them either, even if the wrong sandwiches were made, with so little meat, you would think that it would it would be prepared a lot faster. The place was not even busy, two people were in the place already with their orders, so our was the only thing they had to work on.

I ordered a green coconut waffle: Worst ever. It stuck to the waffle iron, so they scraped it off, and handed me a waffle that was completely fallen apart.

Meh. I ordered 2 mini sandwiches since I couldn’t decide on which one to get. I decided on the combination #1 and the grilled pork #4. On both sandwiches, there were way more pickled veggies than meat. The meat in the combination was a little on the bland side, and the pickled veggies didn’t have much flavor either. The grilled pork had more flavor, but the meat seemed reheated to the point it was dry, then tossed in some greasy sauce to make it better. They put some sort of sauce that got all over the sandwich and made it messy. It wasn’t just on the grilled pork, the combo had it, too. Overall, it was just okay. I’ve definitely had better. I live super close to this place, but will continue to drive to Huong Lan for a better sandwich.

Le Moulin is in the space next to Bambu’s. u can also order Bambu drinks here. cashier is quick, gets the job done. banh mi sammies a bit higher here. eats: pork belly banh mi(4) –baguette longer than others –pork belly lean and partially fatty, just a bit of veggies –not much flavoring, not even msg. good not great, 3 stars. cash only
