Vinh Khang Tofu

I love vinh khang, I always get the cold tofu with syrup on hot summer days like today. I gave some to my boyfriend for the first time, and he really enjoyed it with the coconut milk. The fried tofu with noodles, onions, and mushroom is soooo good. 4 for $ 1, you cant beat that price. The sad thing though is I usually get a craving for cold tofu on Mondays when there closed. Sob story T~T

This business was not closed; they closed for Chinese New Year weekend. I just went today after my dentist appointment and bought my favorite warm dou hua to settle my craving since I thought they are closed for their business entirely

If you love tofu, Vinh Khang is your nirvana. It’s a small, unassuming hole in the wall that sells freshly made savory and sweet tofu, and soymilk from non-​GMO soybeans. A huge pot of hot, fresh, silken tofu with ginger syrup will run you about $ 7, and feed a whole crowd. It doesn’t get more artisanal than this!

I bought a big soybean pudding, and I was asking for a small cup. She said they don’t have any, indeed. They have tons of cups/​bowls there. One of the worst service among the Chinese shop.

My favorite spot for soy milk, soy pudding and tofu.
They recently come out with the taro flavor soymilk, and it is now one of my favorite soymilk flavors.
The fried tofus here are delish as well. They are not cover in oil and not as greasy as some places’. The prices are pretty cheap here. It’s too bad that I don’t live in Milpitas anymore. Otherwise, I would come here more often to get my taro soymilk.

Not always the best, but still good. Fresh tofu products (soy milk, fried, fresh and pudding) made fresh everyday! Tofu pudding, daufu fa, is a great substitute for ice cream since it’s healthier with a lot less surgar, but full of carbs. Typically eaten with ginger syrup, coconut milk or both. If you don’t like ginger, ask for the syrup without ginger. Fried tofu also a really inexpensive snack, mix some soysauce, red vinegar and some sriracha to dip with the tofu. There’s banh mi and other vietnamese dishes available too including sweets and wrapped items like the spring rolls.
It’s a great place to try out something new since these kinds of vegetarian vietnamese foods aren’t well known to foreigners. Cash only. My aunt is the owner of this place and she’s really nice. I’m honestly not giving this a good word just because she’s my aunt. Really try out this kind of food. I don’t expect everyone to like this kind of food.

This is THE place to get doufu hua, a deliciously sweet and light asian tofu pudding that’s a perfect palate cleanser after a heavy meal. The store is at the corner of an unassuming old strip mall, but don’t be deceived by its kind of shabby location. Their tofu pudding (the kind that comes in a foam cup) with syrup is super tasty and they also have a nice selection of other tofu items like the fried tofu with the mushrooms. I also tried their Vietnamese milk tea, which had a unique flavor but was very very sweet.

The banh cam (balls with sesame seeds) barely had any filling at all. It was not worth it.

Awesome tofu! Get the soy milk with no added sugar and the silken hot tofu with ginger sugar + coconut. Just be aware they are closed on Mondays!!!

The super stars of this place is their soy milk and silk tofu (the dessert type). You get a small container (like the $ 5.00 size you get with the cheese spread with your bagels) for $ 1.50. For that price, you’re thinking it’s gotta be water down but I can truly say IT IS NOT! It was so good that my wife bought 40 containers for her Moon Festival party tomorrow. I tried a cup of their soy milk and boy I should’ve bought the gallon container. The soy milk was very smooth and had just a hint of sugar; perfect!

I was craving for some tofu pudding, but San Jose Tofu Company isn’t open on Sundays. So I busted out my Unilocal app of course, and searched for tofu pudding. Which is how I found this little hole in the wall.
I vaguely remember my mom buying tofu pudding from here years ago. Their ‘menu’ is pretty simple and straightforward. They offer tofu, fried tofu, soy milk, tofu pudding, etc. I just wanted to satisfy my tofu pudding fix. They offer two sizes, small and large. I forget the price for the small ($ 2.50?), but I bought two larges for $ 3.50 each. So worth it! It comes out hot and I could see them ladling it from the pot into the containers.
I’ll have to come back and try their cold tofu pudding with coconut. Saw it on the menu and it sounds so refreshing!

Let me start off by saying that I usually am not a fan of tofu, but I grew up with goodies from this place. As a child, my mom always brought home fried tofu with mushrooms, tofu pudding with syrup, and coconut jello in a coconut. Now I stop by whenever I can to stock up on all three. This place just hits the spot. The tofu pudding is the perfect summer dessert. It’s super light and not too sweet. Can I also mention that I trick myself into thinking it’s all healthy because it’s tofu?

I’ll come here to buy the fried tofu pieces to add to my Bun Rieu. I’ll come here for the sweet hot and cold tofu dessert. Don’t forget to ask for the coconut to add into the dessert! Vinh Khanh is the closest place for tofu to me and that’s why I come here to purchase from them. If there was better option, I would definitely go to another place instead.
My one compliant is that there is one worker here that is a little prejudice. One older lady assumed I wasn’t Vietnamese or I couldn’t understand/​speak the language and began talking down about me. Basically telling the other lady I didn’t know what I wanted and to make sure because I’m a dumbass. Uhhhhh, really? Totally not necessary. Of course I busted out in my Vietnamese and told her exactly what I wanted and the older lady was so ashamed, she wouldn’t even look at me after.
Please don’t be rude to your customers. I don’t have a problem telling you this in Vietnamese either.

I kinda went bazerk here… fresh soy milk, fresh tofu, hot tofu dau hua, cold tofu dau hua, and fried tofu.
Yup…fresh and affordable. It’s light and perfectly light and delicious. Friendly service. We went in, there was no one then all of a sudden 20 people behind me. We got Chinese, Vietnamese, Philipinos and a white dude like myself. I think cash only. The soy milk came in a gallon unsweetened… awesome. Only wish I knew if all this is organic or not. I usually get organic non sweetened soy milk from 99. The other thing is I wished they had black soy bean milk.

Their «dou fu hua» aka «tofu pudding» is legit.

This place makes their own tofu. They offer 3 varieties of fried tofu, hot soft tofu, cold soft tofu, and fresh soybean milk with sugar or without sugar. Besides tofu and soybean milk, they also have a few other cold desserts in the frig. Black eyed beans rice pudding, Fermented rice balls, and today I saw a plastic cup of what looks like coffee. Once in a while they will also sell trays of Bánh bèo (small steamed rice cake).
I swung by here today wanting to buy a tray of Bánh bèo, $ 2 worth of fried tofu, and 3 cups of the Black eyed beans rice pudding. They didn’t have any Bánh bèo. The fried tofu used to be $ 1 for 5 pieces. It is now $ 1 for 4 pieces. The black eyed beans rice pudding were $ 1.50 each… same price as before.
If you like tofu, you should try the cold soft tofu. It comes in a small transparent plastic tub sorta like what cream cheese is packaged in. With each tub, they give you a small zip lock bag of coconut and a small zip lock bag of sweet syrup. Pour both on top of the tofu and enjoy! The blandness of the tofu mixed with the sweetness of the coconut and syrup makes this dessert refreshing.
Inside, the store is pretty clean, well lit, and items are very organized. I’ve no complaints… only wish it was closer to my house so I can shop there more often!

4 pieces of fried tofu for $ 1. I always get 20 pieces and it’s a great snack to eat on the way home or as a side for dinner. Come, vegetarians! This place will be your best friend.
