The quality of the food has decreased immensely from a few years ago. I used to frequent this location when I worked around the corner, but the menu has completely changed and it just doesn’t taste the same anymore. What a shame.

We came here for lunch around 11:30am. The place was not yet busy so were seated right away. They have outside seating so it was good because my friend wanted to work on her tan at the same time. She’s from Jersey so she just loves the California sun. Our server gave us two menus, regular and lunch. I was looking for their seafood pasta but I didn’t see it in their choices so I settled for the Gamberi $ 9.75 Sauteed gulf shrimp with tomato, garlic, Asaparagus and chili. The sauce was good, not too heavy and thick. Paired with a glass of Riesling BAM! Good lunch. Listed under their appetizers, the size is just about right for a single person Bread sticks that’s hella warm and soft was also served on our table. My colleague ordered the Garlic Parmesan Chopped Salad $ 6.95 . This baby is huge!!! Two people can actually share one order. I didn’t try it but she said it was very good. They used organic romaine hearts, fresh grilled chicken, Meat Salami, provolone, pepperoncini, garbanzo beans, tossed in their garlic parmesan dressing. Customer service was GREAT! I totes forgot our servers name but she took care of us the way a customer should be taken care of.

Pasta Pomodoro, since my childhood pasta eating days, has always been one of my favorite chain restaurants and continues to be even if the Gemelli has tasted better years ago when I came here more often. They probably had to put less creamy sauce because the dish itself is already over 1100 calories. It wasn’t satisfying enough that it was worth finishing. My boyfriend made the fortunate mistake of ordering Pizzetta Bianca which is a mini pizza made of Alfredo sauce and chicken. We were disappointed it was a pizza at first until we took a bite out of it and finished it all. The complimentary bread is excellent with the dipping sauce. It comes in appropriate portion sizes since your entrees are already over a 1,000 calories.

I have been to this location once; I went there right around 5pm and I was the only customer. The gentleman who greeted me seemed very nice, but he told me that he is not a big wine drinker so he didn’t know which wine is good. He gave me one of the most popular wine for me to try, it was too sour for my taste. I strongly suggest them to at least learn about their own wine if that’s what they sell to their customers. I ordered steamed clams and one of their soup(forgot the name) in the bowl size; the portion of the soup is extremely small, probably just a cup size if I were to get it somewhere else. The clams weren’t fresh and very tiny, probably those frozen ones. Will I come back here? Probably not; unless I am starving to death and there is no other restaurant around. But the service was good; giving two stars just for their services.

Forgot what I ordered, but my waiter was cute and very nice ha. I think I got the Sicilian. It was penne pasta with a spicy mint tomato sauce with eggplants and mozarella. Loved the eggplant and mozarella, don’t know about the mint though. My waiter also asked for more eggplant for my dish. Sucks that this place doesn’t have eggplant parmisana anymore because that’s what I really wanted. My nephew like his spaghetti and meatball. A kid’s meal is like $ 8 and it comes with an entrée, a drink, and ice cream for dessert.

I hate this Pasta Pomodoro… well, just in general I feel they’re way over priced($ 6 for a side of asparagus?!) I only truly ever come here for the rosemary bread and pesto dip. Anyways, I came here tonight with one of my friends. We stood in front of the podium for nearly four minutes, waiters passing by us multiple times before the manager saw us standing there. We were sat with an awful waiter whom never told us his name. We ordered and were waiting to get the dessert menu, our waiter too busy trying to sell beer to a man next to us with two clearly under-aged kids, and the father was by himself.(Driving after drinking alcohol) After being walked past four or five times we decided not to bother giving the restaurant anymore of our money. When our waiter passed us again I said, «Excuse me.» He turned to me and said these EXACTWORDS: «What you want?» What do I want? I want a better waiter who has manners. Oh and my check. That’s what. I’m never coming here again. You shouldn’t either. The wait staff are awful.

Ok this review is for the busy working lunchtime crowd… skip it. The food is ok, the actual wait staff is good but the hostess is less than apt at her job and it’s frustrating. We were told 5 – 10 minute wait and it was closer to 20. We said we were willing to squish 5 people into a 4 person table and the hostess just refused to let us do it. I mean really people, we were willing to compromise, why weren’t you? That being said, there are lots of other places in the complex who will hustle to get the lunch crowd in and out. I feel kinda bad for the waiter who was trying to his hardest to get the hostess to seat us too.

My good friend Susie chose this place as her belated birthday dinner. It was completely dead on a Thursday night. The host sat us all the way in the corner of the restaurant, I guess so we could have some privacy, lol. We had the usual bread with pesto olive oil to start us off, and a half order of bruschetta. The bruschetta was good [hard to mess that up] but we should’ve probably went with a different appetizer since we already get complimentary bread. My friend got the Ravioli di Zucca with chicken added on top. I was trying to eat lighter since I had loaded up on all that bread beforehand(lol) and ordered the Healthy Fish plate which was whole grain pasta with salmon and asparagus in a tomato sauce. It was ok. Would I order it again, no probably not. But Susie loved her Ravioli plate which is all that mattered!

My husband and I went to Pasta Pomodoro on a Saturday night and the restaurant was not crowded. We got seated in 5min. We called them earlier that evening to make a reservation and they mentioned that they don’t take reservations for parties less than 6 people. Their complimentary bread and pesto sauce is to die for! For appetizers, we ordered Bruschetta, which was good but very oily. For entrees, we ordered Siciliane and Ravioli Di Zucca. Siciliane was so-so; the Raviolo Di Zucca was tasty, but it was way too buttery/creamy that I couldn’t eat much. Overall, the food was fair to middling and I don’t think we would visit this place again.

I was in the Mood for Italian food. So I rolled the Work Whip to PP. Fergie singing London Bridges was keeping me amused on my drive to PP. I arrived there and was greated and seated by my Server Angela . I ordered the Frutti De Mare –spaghetti with P.E.I. mussels, manila clams, gulf shrimp, calamari and garlic in a light tomato sauce(1002 cal) I was brought a some Fresh Bread Sticks with Olive oil to munch on while I waited. My Frutti De Mare arrived 12 minutes later. It was Pretty Tasty I enjoyed the Seafood that came with it. I paid by Discover Card Yea! And rolled away Cranking some BB King.

Despite the restaurant being half empty/full on a Friday night, service was exceedingly slow and inattentive. Food also took 30min+ to come out. The orange ravioli with the squash in the middle was not to my liking. Also, some of the salad greens were on the dark-green-and-slimy-side. We also waited 30min+ for the check to arrive after we had clearly finished our meal. When we asked the waitress for our check, she stuck her nose up a bit and impolitely told us to wait. We spent less time eating than waiting for food and the check. +1 star for bread, because I can’t say no to aromatic carbs. +1 for pasta, because I can’t say no to carbs. In general. –3 for slug-like service and disregard for patronly hunger and attention that was unmet.

MmMm PASSSTA!!! Pasta in general is my fave!!! The service here at Mc Carthy Ranch is great as well. They don’t hound u down for other things you might want to order. So that was a + star lol. My favorite dish here would have to be the Frutti De Mare and the conchiglie gamberi are my favorite dishes so far. And not to forget the(strawberry) lemonade is to die for =) Enjoy

Not sure why Pasta Pomodoro only gets an average 3 star rating. if anything it is a 3.5 stars to a 4 star rating in my book. Why? Complimentary bread with pesto sauce that is served warm and toasted and a large selection of pasta to choose from. I recommend paying attention to what the special of the day is, or get one of my personal favorites which is the«ravioli de zucca» which is ravioli stuffed with butternut squash. So good! The difference between the Pasta Pomodoro at Santana Row and the one in McCarthy Ranch is that the one in McCarthy Ranch serves larger pieces of complimentary bread! :) Yeah!

Picked up a recent take out order at this location, stopping on my way home after I left another event. Saturday night at the parking lot was a zoo, but inside, not that busy. I ordered and was charged for a large spinach salad, but they only gave me a small. Was partially my fault because I was eager to get back in the car and get back home, but I stupidly didn’t check the bag nor my receipt all that well. Ended up paying $ 40 for a small salad and two entrees, all to go. I was 15 miles away and back in San Jose before realizing the error. The food ended up being just okay — both entrees were mostly under seasoned with average portion sizes. I’ve also had mixed success with PP at Santana Row — at the best, I’d consider PP to be 3-star decent, but mostly it’s been average. Now, with this latest experience, I probably won’t go back to either location again.

I usually don’t review chain restaurants, but I don’t usually go to this one. The people here are really nice and tentative. I LOVETHEBREADANDTHESAUCE!!! Drool! Super yummy and soft. They put some kind of herb that makes it so tasty. The bread is only good at this location. I’ve tried the one in Santana Row and it was really hard and tasteless. I usually order the Conchiglie Gamberi or the Bolognese. The gamberi is made of shell pasta, asparagus, and shrimp. The sauce is different. It is red like a tomato sauce, but it has cream too. I can’t really explain the taste, but it has a nice balance of both. The bolognese is good and I needed pepper. The portions are just right and the staff are really nice. One thing that I don’t like are the soups. The minestrone really needs more salt because it’s really flavorless. The other soups aren’t that great either so I would stay away from them.

Ah been a while since visiting Pasta P. I’ve always liked pasta p as it was easy to get to .been a gathering place for catching up with friends… Or getting a fix for Tiramesu. After exploring other options in the bay I’ve come to conclude that the food is a bit greasy. but not too bad. Depending on the time you go… the wait time can be a drag. Typically during lunch time they get pretty slammed with the Techies and the Sales power lunches but they try to run around frantically to make sure everyone is happy. It’s definitely a good place for pasta. Oh did I mention Tiramesu??? They do a pretty good job. The taste is well balanced. It’s gotta nice dark coco flavor with a hint of rum. The lady finger is moist but not drenched so the texture is just right. I found that the Milpitas branch does a better job making the Tiramesu then some of their other locations. Thanks, –NP

I try to avoid chains because they pack a ton of calories into a little lard slathered gut grenade but Pomodoro has a lot of great lite dishes on their menu. I try not to eat a lot of pasta and prefer my food have a face and been caught while casually swimming with his buds in the ocean current or hanging out under a grand pastoral oak tree being Happy or chatting with the other chicks in the hen house about the new rooster on the block. For those lunch time meet my old college buddy and catch up, this is a great spot. The lunch rush is manageable and the service was never lacking and quite prompt at this busy hour. Great place.

I’ve been here before and the food was always at least decent. Tonight, however, the food was INEDIBLE. The bread at this location is the worst bread of any Pasta Pomodoro I’ve ever had! Focaccia is supposed to be a moist, spongy bread. Instead, this bread came out dry and more like a bad ciabatta. To start, we ordered a side Caesar and cup of Minestrone. The Caesar, as I said in my check-in, came out extremely under-dressed. In fact, it was like there wasn’t any at all. Also, the croutons were extremely stale. We should have followed Chris M.‘s suggestion and walked out right then and there… I really regret staying for the rest of my meal. I ordered the Frutti de Mare, which is a basically a spaghetti with seafood, and the bf ordered Shrimp Alfredo. Both were disgusting. The seafood was overcooked to the point where the shrimp in both dishes tasted like rubber, not to mention it didn’t taste very fresh. I like my pasta al dente, but our pasta was just NOTCOOKED, especially the alfredo noodles which were still hard. Being polite, we did not send the dishes back, but in retrospect, we really should have. I think maybe it was the chef(a bigger guy with a thick mustache; if you see him in the kitchen, RUN) but no matter. The experience was so mortifying I’m certain I’ll never be back even if this was supposedly an «off day.» 40 bucks for food we couldn’t even eat halfway through. Two thumbs down! … The server was nice, though.

i’ve always been a fan of pasta pomodoro. their menu has changed over the years but i still manage to find the perfect dish. my favorite here is the conchiglie gamberi. the dish has shell pasta with shrimp and asparagus with a tomato cream sauce. it’s so savory and has the perfect creamy texture. i LOVE dipping their bread into the extra sauce. the pook’s fave is the penne portobello. it has sausage and grilled chicken. the garlic sauce is a bit too much for me. i prefer my tomato cream sauce. the dish is still good though. service from lisa today was excellent. she was super nice and checked on us often. she was the only one there and took the time to make sure everything was okay. will definitely be back again. :)
