We ordered off of the 2/$ 20 menu options. My husband got the meatloaf. The portions were plentiful. His only complaint was the gravy was salty. The mashed potatoes were made from scratch which was a plus. I ordered the turkey dinner. The turkey was good but the stuffing was awful. The gravy actually had a slimy texture which make my stomach turn. We were offered homemade bread but I would not really call it bread. It was almost like a pizza crust. Our server was very pleasant and helpful. Service was slow but this was not her fault. It took that long for the food to come from the kitchen. The meals came with free pudding which was served with whipped cream. Iced tea had free refills.

Husband and I took my mother(92) here for lunch. Mid-afternoon; at least five other tables occupied when we arrived. Clean, comfortable room. Server was friendly and efficient(thank you Karen!). Food was plentiful and tasty. Husband had an asparagus omelet; I had crab cake sandwich; Mom had grilled cheese w/tomato. Sandwiches came with soup or salad and fries(the crispiest I’ve had in a long time!) We were well taken care of and left feeling more than a bit stuffed. With three iced teas and two desserts the total was less than $ 40. What’s not to like?

It was a slow evening at the diner… But there was also a sign on the door stating: «Hiring experienced servers». We should have taken that as a sign to go someplace else. We sat at the table for 30 minutes before anyone came to ask us if we wanted drinks. A couple that was seated after us left bc a waitress wasn’t coming to them either but at least they got water. That was our second sign to leave as well. Perhaps we will try again when they get help!
