We stopped at Mimosa after our early flight landed for a quick breakfast. The place is cute at first glance but the longer you hang the faster the appeal diminishes. You order on an iPad that is smack in the middle of your table, which is quick and easy and also in the way of conversing with your date. But don’t think your ‘server’ is going to stop and chat, because they won’t. If you’re traveling alone it would be great to be left alone. Our server walked around talking loudly about how all the tables and chairs are falling apart…#awkward… NONE of the photos on the menu are actually how they are served. Which is disappointing and had I known that my order would have changed dramatically. The cappuccino’s purpose here is to just give you a caffeine boost. I wouldn’t plan on actually enjoying it. The quiche? Horrible. When the plate was dropped down in front of me I had the feeling of ordering that cute little top online and when it comes in the mail you think, «WTF.is this even what I ordered?» I read someone else’s review saying that they use quality seasonal ingredients. I don’t know what they ordered, but it wasn’t the quiche. The crust tasted like cardboard and the custard was ‘warm’ near the crust and fresh out of the freezer cold in the middle. Maybe I’ll just get drunk here next time instead.

Pretty cool, who wouldn’t want to by-pass service and order off an Ipad instead? Great concept. Only had drinks so not sure about the food. Pretty fast service and the Ipad doesn’t get too in the way of conversation if you’re with someone. Very cool. Airport prices but that’s to be expected.

The iPads aren’t really a bonus or a detraction for me here. What is nice is that it is a comfortable atmosphere in a crowded airport. If you have time to kill in the airport stop here for a comfortable place to hang out. Order on the iPad at your own pace. Tip already calculated in when you close out your tab.

Still my best reason for a layover in MSP. Have always loved the classic bar feel with the white tile and wood/metallic accents that are part of the modern ambiance. Just grab a bar seat or a table and start piecing together your order on the iPads, swipe your payment method, then a Mimosa staff will start bringing the goods straight to you. In the meantime, recharge your laptop, phone or USB device right at the bar or table. Dishes are tasty gourmet creations and the cocktail menu is fun and always changing to feature seasonal creations. On my most recent visit, had the Brussels sprouts with poached egg and added a chicken breast to it. Flavor combo was fantastic and the texture from the bacon pieces mixed with the egg were wonderful.

Garbage. The worst food ever. What I was served is NOTHING like the menu picture. The Monte Cristo was a greasy, tough, puny mess along with the toughest«pommes frites» ever! I guess this is what happens when you remove humanoids from the customer service equation! I thought it was just the ordering process that was computerized; they must have machines throwing this slop together in the kitchen too.

I really loved the wine and the cheese plate we ordered but I must say it’s a technology overload. Must there be flashing iPads at every seat? It’s convenient if you need to get online or if you’re stuck on a layover but it’s also overkill. Nice staff, good fine and wine. Too many damn iPads.

Beautiful décor, free iPads(iPad ordering), power outlets at every table. Only negatives, a bit pricey and the food is average. But great experience.

I seldom try and eat healthly, when I do I always lose. This instance is no different. I ordered the trout thinking it would be a light meal and I got a fish soaked in butter. It wasnt even that good, standard airport food I guess. The service was good and the ordering process with the iPad worked well.

Very disappointing. I was told that I only had 5 minutes to place my order at 9pm on a Thursday and that they couldn’t take an order unless I used the order tablets at the counter. Which were not user friendly. I should have left but I was starving. The crab cakes I ordered came out 30 seconds after I ordered them, less time than it could possibly take to cook them, and of coarse they were cold & soggy. … And they had no malt vinegar. I admit, I didn’t order fried fish(it was for my fries) but in the«land of 10,000 lakes» every restaurant should have malt vinegar on hand. That’s my opinion.

A very nice airport restaurant. They serve actual live food. I had the salad Nicoise and my husband had the steak sandwich. Salad was fresh, seered tuna was well prepared. Green Beans were crisp. My husband thought his steak sandwich was pretty good. The verdict at our table was airport restaurant measuring stick: A; regular non-airport, non-chain restaurant measuring stick: B/B-. We will definitely eat there again. Decent service. iPad ordering.

MSP airport: you can hoof it around the food court and eat pretty well for semi-cheap(Famiglia pizza!) or you can spend more, sit in a cushy half-booth by the G gates(or in the actual restaurant, for better ambiance), order on an iPad with a sweet online menu with photos of everything, and have fancy food brought to you. It seems a lot of people balk at the iPad ordering, but I’m not in this for the social contact. With the iPad you can order when you’re ready, see a photo of the dish, and pay in a matter of seconds by swiping your card at the table. If you need something, don’t crane your neck and wait around trying to spy your server – tap the Assistance button, request a server, and your server promptly shows up. My crab cakes and fries arrived very quickly – the server didn’t blink when I declined ketchup and asked for some more of the lemon aioli(which was nicely tart and rich). The food itself was pretty solid. Crab cakes were classic and tasty if a bit lukewarm and pale. Rosemary fries barely tasted of rosemary but were an excellent vehicle for aioli. Fries came in the old-school white paperboard boat, quarantined in a larger cardboard box(inelegant but it did keep the fry grease off my table and therefore off my electronics that were charging). Why not a plate? $ 3.59 for a Diet Coke? All in all, if I’m hungrier next time I’m flying out of MSP I’ll try the steak.

I am by no means old, but the technology in this place ruins the potentially hip atmosphere. I ordered through the iPad and it locked up, had to flag a bartender down for assistance and she stated they had been having problems. I sat at the bar for almost two hours and every single person that sat down by me complained about the way you have to order and lack of conversation with the staff. Call me old school, but I DONOT like this setup. Not to mention it took over 20 minutes to get me a receipt since the iPad I ordered from was apparently broken. I feel bad for the staff having to deal with this.

I ordered the traditional French steak frites and it was very very disappointing. I ordered the steak«rare» it arrived medium. The meat was not seasoned and flavorless for«dry-age» strip loin. French fries were worse: very soggy. Their picture of the rare steak frites is mid-leading. Do not waste your $ 30 on their steak frites.

Great beer selection! Worthless staff! It’s highly frowned upon if you don’t order with the iPads. I ordered a beer and a salad and half hr later asked for my beer and then ten more minutes my salad. Both mentally slow waiters? looked blindly at me and had no clue I was waiting even though I was two feet from them at the bar. I used to work in the industry and this place is super nice but needs a ton of training. Great potential, but I’d give it a few more months at least. I’ll add the only guy who seemed to have a clue was the Irish looking guy with the grey beard. The rest of the staff maybe shouldn’t even have jobs. This review is great! Don’t try ordering any complicated drinks the bartender is still trying to read the menu. Cheers and hope you have a great flight! Hit up DeeDee at Axel’s instead.

One of the best places to eat in an airport hands down. I love how clean and neat the place is as well as their Techy accommodations. I love the fact that ordering through an iPad and just swiping a card can get a meal to you. Tip and other info is already provided too so that’s amazing. Just press, swipe, eat, leave. Their grilled fromage with burnt end fries was perfect for $ 12. Great atmosphere and simple to dine in with quality food

I’ve been through dozens of airports in the last year and haven’t encountered any place as user friendly as Mimosa’s. Power at every table. Free internet(on their ipads), a great beer selection(for an airport). This is my new favorite airport spot in the US.

I hope the next time I’m on a layover at MSP that I’m flying out of Concourse G so I can come back for a meal. I ordered the Garlic Burger and a slice of ‘za and fries to share with my people. Everything was delicious– really unexpected quality of food and ingredients for an airport at the low prices on their menu. Better than a lot of burgers I’ve paid twice as much for. Ordering via iPad made things easy, and the food came out within 7 or 8 minutes. There are TONS of tables, booths and a bar so you’ll find a spot to dine or drink w/o delay. Resist the urge to selfie while you’re playing with the iPad waiting for your flight.

Airport dining has evolved! I’ve had food and drinks at Mimosa and their sister establishment, Minnibar, on several occasions, and the food, beer(I am a big Surly fan), and service have always been very good. The iPad ordering is kind of cool, kind of wonky, but it works out okay. Some reviews show concern about tipping up front, but I’ve always had good service. Have a little faith, flyers! The menu is just like a «regular» restaurant with salads, apps, sandwiches, and some pretty nice entrees like moules et frites. Pro tip: the poutine starter makes a really nice meal. It’s a full bar that even serves some impressive cocktails — check out Thyme to Fly: thyme liqueur & champagne! I am a craft beer guy, so I steer toward whichever Surly or other local brew is on tap. Gone are the days of watery domestics as your only beer choice en route! I was just chatting with a server and she tipped me off that they even have Bell’s Hopslam — a fantastic limited release seasonal IPA. At an airport bar! Yes, it’s a little pricey, but show me another place at an airport that charges street prices for their wares. I think it’s more than worth it to splurge a little for a nice meal and pint or two en route sometimes.

Great food and espresso but it’s expensive and I got very poor service, well more specifically a very poor bartender. He forgot my drinks and then made up some bad excuse later that he meant to be late on my espresso because people prefer dessert espresso. Huh? Really? How about ‘sorry’ or ‘my bad’ or tell me a joke or even better just say ‘right away’. The food on the other hand was awesome. My salad nicoise was delectable and would recommend it. The espresso was great as well. Nice temperature and taste. Too bad I had to beg for it.

I liked Mimosa– they had a good variety of dishes with different price ranges so they were much more budget friendly than Taste of Shoyu. I wasn’t exactly hungry so I ultimately chose an ahi tuna salad, even though the burgers and other entrees looked really good. I didn’t regret my choice at all. :) As with the restaurants in G terminal(i.e. Taste of Shoyu), you order through iPads and they have numerous outlets to meet your devices’ charging needs. You also tip beforehand, but thankfully, the service has not yet disappointed the amount that I’ve tipped. 4⁄5.
