Great customer service here. The sushi rolls are not expertly prepared/presented like you would see at a fine sushi restaurant however the ingredients are fresh and overall the sushi rolls are comparable in taste to most any sushi restaurants out there, definitely a great option for sushi on the go.

I like that they have healthier, quicker options, but execution is often poor. If I order sushi for lunch, it simply won’t fill me up. One time I ordered their Ramen, and the broth tasted super funny. It had a ton of sugar in it!!! On a most recent visit, I was excited to order a bowl. Literally they only filled 1⁄3 of the bowl, the portion was embarrassingly tiny!!! So I emailed management, and they chose not to respond!

The portion and price are disgusting. I went there for lunch and did not come out full. Don’t go there. Expensive

The staff is SO slow and the food quality is very poor. Food is clearly frozen and reheated when ordered. Multiple times I’ve had hot meals given to me cold. Sushi rolls are small in diameter for the price. They always seem to be missing ingredients. However, the place is always tidy and clean.

Really good sushi made quick and tasty. Good customer service, great atmosphere. One star out for prices. One is opening up in my building. So I’m sure I’ll be there a lot more. I recommend their shrimp tempura.

I have one thing to say: boring. If you like paying too much for mediocrity this is the place. Just don’t go.

It’s no high class all you can eat sushi bar, but it gets the job done. The food is pretty good. They have a number of recommended rolls, but you can also make your own. The student special gets you a drink and a side for only ninety nine cents extra. It’s quick, it’s affordable, and it’s tasty. Enough said.

Yes its on a college campus yes its Americanized. Its like a fast sit down restaurant and it shows in the quality of the food they offer. Its quick, edible and fairly priced but won’t be the best food you can get. We ordered the seaweed salad which was prepacked and looked like something you can grab from the grocery market. –Pork Belly Ramen the broth was bland the toppings were ok. They do offer great discounts and meal deals for students with their ID’s if you decide to eat here don’t forget to bring those with. Overall I won’t be eating here again we did not order any sushi but it did not look appetizing.

There’s a reason why grabbing sushi isn’t supposed to be a quick eat. Sushi is to be enjoyed in a nice, cozy, dimly lit room. Subway moved out and One Two Three Sushi moved in. Note to self– don’t settle for less than you deserve. A few friends and I decided to give this place a huge benefit of doubt because it’s in walking distance of the apartment one of them recently moved into. I’m currently suffering from huge food order regret and my craving for sushi remains unsatisfied… even though I just ate two, 8 piece rolls. The one unique thing about this place is the ability to create your own roll. The list of ingredients is minimal though. Simply trying this place out was adventurous enough for me that I decided to order from their short list of house rolls. I ordered the Seattle spicy roll and the spicy tuna roll. The sushi chef had to keep looking up at the menu to remember what was in each roll… Are you kidding me? I could have memorized them all in the time it took him to prepare them. There were less than ten after all. The spicy sauces overwhelmed the entire roll rather than complimenting the fish. If you’re looking for sushi on the same level as sushi you can pick up in a grocery store, then this is the place for you! It was $ 17.00 for two rolls which seems a little pricey for the quality you get. True desperation to satisfy a craving led me here and my punishment was leaving unsatisfied. I’m ashamed that I chose to get sushi here and will unfortunately not be returning. The Jimmy Johns or Subway nearby would have left me feeling more content…

The pot belly ramen here is good. Not as salty as Masu. The beer is also very cheap at just 99 cents during 6 – 9 happy hour when bought with entrée.

Since I live in the neighborhood, I’ve been to 123 a handful of times since it opened last summer. The food tastes exactly how you would imagine from a sushi place that prides itself on being fast and cheap. It’s essentially fast food, which is awesome and tasty in a sushi pinch but nothing special. The thing that really bothers me about this place is the consistently weird service. As a college student who has worked in the food industry for years, I feel like I’m pretty lenient when it comes to iffy service. That being said, being in 123 actually makes me feel uncomfortable because the whenever I’ve been there, the employees seem to be indifferent to their customers. Tonight, my roommate and I stopped in and again had a strange time. We were the only people there at the time, and weren’t greeted by anyone. When we ordered, we were told that they were out of one of the key ingredients in our rolls and to choose something else. When a group came in behind us, the girl making our rolls called upon the other worker for help but unfortunately he didn’t know what went on to either of our rolls and first asked us, then referenced the menu 5 times before still forgetting a topping. Once we had paid and sat down, that same guy continually stared at me while we ate which was pretty uncomfortable. OVERALL: The food is decent, if you’re in the area craving cheap sushi 123 might be worth a stop in. After giving this place more than a fair shot, unfortunately the bad/strange service is a deterrent for me :(

What a funny, random place. I stumbled on this place last week with my husband and another couple. We were looking for a drink and a snack. Apparently, this place is owned by/connected to Masu, which I LOVE. Its not the same thing. Its super American. BUT, sometimes I’m okay with that! The prices didn’t seem super awesome, but their happy hour special… good. So, the deal was after 7pm, you can get a beer(12 tap Sapporo, or choice of a few cans) and 2 steamed bun/taco things for $ 5. I love those damn steamed buns. Keep expectations low, and you’ll be pleasantly surprised. Also, the staff were awesome.

Food/Drink: Worth it as a fast food sushi joint. We ordered some nigiri, one Seattle Spicy Crunch roll and one custom roll. The rolls were done pretty well, but just be aware of the sauces and crunches they load up on them. The fish in the rolls was fresh and tasted good and the rice was just right. The yellow tail tuna nigiri didn’t make sense and almost seemed like it was processed in a factory(square, flat, shaped piece). Be aware, though we wanted sushi, they have more options like ramen and buns. Ambiance: It’s a fast food joint probably focussed on lunch crowds(or this case students). It’s efficient for that and absolutely made sense. It’s definitely a clean place which is a plus on the atmosphere. Service: For a fast food sushi joint, it’s not too fast, but then again it’s sushi. So it’s a little twisted, do you really want it super fast or would you rather a little care. Then again, it could be just a dead saturday and they’re not crewed up to the teeth. Either way, the people behind the counter were pleasant enough and happy to explain some of the add-ins and options. Overall: Don’t think high end sushi restaurant, but think about it as quick affordable alternative to grocery store or buffet sushi and you’ll completely get it. So based on the value(read«dollar signs») for what you get, it absolutely deserves this rating. I’d go here in a heart beat if I wanted some quick decent japanese food.

I actually had high expectations when trying out this place for some good sushi, but it was not very tasty at all! When we walked in to order our sushi, we got to customize what we wanted in our sushi roll. After watching the workers and their techniques to make our sushi, the quality just looked terrible and not very appetizing to eat. I was a bit disappointed how it turned and how it tasted. My sushi tasted very bland. I am not sure why I came into this place expecting really authentic sushi, but it was not authentic at all. I guess I’d recommend this place to people who would like a quick bite on the go, but definitely not a sit down to eat.

For«fast food» sushi, this place was good. We had a gift card so we had to try it. We came on a Sunday, around 5pm. The place was empty with three workers. By 6pm it was getting full. They have six 2-person tables and a long row of stools against the window/ordering line. Place looks very clean, probably cause its new. Parking can be difficult but for the Minnesota student, walking from campus or riding your bike helps. PROCESS: So you walk in and you order, basically a make-it-yourself sushi window. You choose your rice, two veggies, a protein, a sauce and topping. They have all kinds of varieties, so it can be overwhelming. Look at their menu online if you want to plan ahead. They have fountain drinks and sake served in a styrofoam cup haha, really?! They have to-go packets of soy sauce, wooden chopsticks, disposable mini soup spoon, and small containers with lids for dipping. When you’re done you bus your tray to the garbage! SUSHI: As for the sushi, the rice was ok. Not very sticky but not mushy either. The veggies we put were crunchy. And the salmon wasn’t too bad. We also tried the lobster and snow crab which was a dollar extra each, pretty good. The toppings were lacking but the sauces good. Comes with a hefty ball of wasabi and yellow pickled ginger for each roll. RAMEN: We also got the ramen, spicy beef short ribs. Wasn’t a fan. The broth was nearly tasteless and only lukewarm. The fishcake rubbery. The beef was tough and you don’t get very much of it. And the noodles… straight from a plastic package. The only thing that made it better was eating it with the kimchee, which had lots of flavor. I could have easily made this at home. But for what the place is… the convenient location, the decent price, a variety of choices that taste pretty good(so far), friendly workers, and clean atmosphere, I would come back for a quick meal if I were craving sushi. Remember, this isn’t a sit-down restaurant with table service, so don’t expect it to be be an awesome meal served by a chef.

I know why you’re reading this. You’re worried about this place. Let me reassure you that it’s not too bad! I was told all fish are received whole and sliced daily, that’s reassuring because this place looks like the subway of sushi inside. Also, when I finally did order(6 piece nigiri) all of my fish came from off the ice and was cut right in front of me. It honestly wasn’t that bad. Not the highest quality, not the best craftsmanship, and not the best tasting… But it was edible. I’ll come back if I’m craving because I live next door, not because I’ll search it out over other spots in Minneapolis.

I was skeptical of this place because it is set up like the Chipotle of Japanese food. I am happy to say that everything is pretty good. It is not the best sushi I have ever had but it is quick and consistent. My favorite menu item is the teriyaki chicken rice bowl with their sweet/spicy sauce added(it is way too dry without some sauce). I tried a pork belly steam bun recently at their skyway location and it was damn good. This place hits the spot for cheap, rushing-to-class, tasty cuisine. 3 star quality on the sushi bell curve. I gave them 4 stars due to a great customer service experience. I ordered a tempura shrimp rice bowl. They misheard me and started making a tempura shrimp maki roll. I didn’t notice until they were halfway done. I noted the price difference(more as surprise and confusion than anger) and the guy was so apologetic that he offered to give me the roll on the house! I asked for a little cup of rice on the side instead, but I was highly appreciative of that moment of honest, quality customer care.

Great sushi option for campus. It’s fast and easy to order. Make your own roll. Or if it’s finals week and you don’t want to think too hard, just order one on the menu… The Seattle spicy crunch was awesome, but spicy is very much a relative term in this instance. Their menu is surprisingly large; ramen, rice bowls, edamame. I’m looking forward to trying their steamed buns. One thing that is lacking is their seating.

I’ve been eagerly awaiting this place ever since they started painting a giant octopus on the side of a building in Dinkytown. Kawaii!, The cute, bright décor continues inside and they deserve credit for having turned a turd of a building into a sunny, fun space. The counter is a bit narrow and the stools are too high and need a foot rest, but I guess you get the added bonus of a core workout while you eat. You can get your sushi to go of course,(even the to-go boxes adorable), but I enjoyed the atmosphere there. It reminds me a lot of Bunh Mi in Stadium Village for some reason. I think it’s the modern décor and the loud music. Sake and beer are on the menu, but they don’t have the license sorted out yet. Anyway, the food! I had a custom roll, that was put together quickly and competently. The fish looked fresh and so did the veggies. The spicy mayo sauce was plenty hot for me. My dining companions went for hotter sauces and said they were plenty powerful. Our party split an order of steamed pork tonkatsu buns. They were a perfectly sized appetizer for three and really yummy – probably the highlight of the meal for me. This isn’t the best sushi I’ve ever had, but it’s fresh, affordable and fast. I’m sure we’ll be back. Edit: Thought I’d follow up since this place has been open a while now. They fixed the footbar. Yay! They must read their Unilocal reviews. We continued to go here through the winter because the spicy short rib ramen bowl is so awesome. A great big bowl of hot broth, noodles and spicy beef rib that has been braised to melting tenderness are the perfect cure for the winter blahs.
