Came in looking for a thangka of an obscure bodhisattva and the proprietress was super sweet about looking him up for me and helping me muddle through his potential Tibetan names. Even though they didn’t have what I was looking for, she still showed me what they had in stock for Chenreizig/Avalokitesvara, so I was not left hanging. They have a little bit of everything here, from weird wall art, lots of Buddhist statues, and every sort of eastern kitsch you could imagine. They also have a huge selection of hippie clothes and scarves, so it was kind of cool just to take a look around. My only complaint is that everything seems to be outlandishly priced. I am not really familiar with Tibetan art and all that, but it did seem like things were much more marked up than needed to be. The thangka I ended up coming home with was easily twice more than it has been in other places I’ve been to, and the pashmina scarf that I fell in love with and had to buy was the same. Granted, I could have not bought either of these things, but I like to support local shops and all that, but still, I felt had a little.
