Surprise! This place is actually awesome for breakfast! Stationed in concourse G right by Delta gates G11-G13, this joint offers full menu breakfast, lunch, and dinner all off the convenience of an IPad. Yes, it’s one of those airport IPad restaurant/bars you wonder so much about. But I think this one’s a bit cooler. The staff greeted me very warmly for the morning and told me to sit anywhere I felt comfortable. iPads are stationed at every placemat. You order completely off the electronic menu, which is very easy to navigate through. I ordered an omelette which came to be about $ 14 with tax + tip, not too bad for the airport. Food quality was pretty good it truly blew me away at how nice/easy it was to order everything off an iPad menu. A few cool things I learned by talking with the friendly staff; –they alwaysss stay open as late as guests need(delays, etc.), but probably not past 2am as that is bar close in MN. –they have contests you can enter in on the iPad’s while waiting for food to arrive –the menu isn’t the only app on the iPads! –you can leave a tab open but it will always be password protected to ensure you can’t leave it up to have someone else use it Awesome iPad restaurant!

Enjoyed three drinks and and one appetizer, but not the forty to footy five dollar tab. The staff were nice and friendly I just don’t understand why you have to charge so much for the experience. Ordering with the iPad was cool but it really looked like a lot of ads. My suggestion would to have a better price point on just about all the food and beer. Then I would suggest more local craft beers as MN has about 15 – 20 new breweries around since last year.

It’s definitely comfortable and convenient if you are coming from Customs and going out of g12 but I would only recommend this out of convenience. I had the spaghetti bolognese and it was not that good for $ 17. You can definitely find better options if you are willing to walk. I had heavy bags and needed a place to sit without feeling like a free loader. PS. IPads are full of ads so I didn’t end up using it.

Very high tech restaurant and bar. An iPad at every seat where you can order food and drinks. Apps $ 8 – 12 entrée $ 15 – 30 pasta $ 15 – 20. Beer $ 6 – 10 Typical airport food, but a little better and a lot more expensive.

Flew into MPS after 10 days in Italy. Italy, where you can drink excellent wine for 3 euros a glass. Volant: 2 Summits for $ 16, then add tax(should be part of the $ 16!) then add an automatic gratuity of 22% on the beer and the TAX! Grossly overpriced. I would give zero star if possible

Zero stars really. This was a terrible experience. The online ordering was very confusing and we ended up being late in catching our flight. My child’s hamburger bun was burnt and my antipasti dish was terrible. The prosciutto was so thick it was like chewing on a piece of leather. The asparagus was woody. Thankfully they served a nice poached egg, otherwise I would have had nothing satisfying.

What a complete rip off and waste of limited layover eating time. Tiny and I mean tiny portions. $ 12 for calamari rings and I literally got 12 rings. Small rings. $ 1 each tiny ring. And they were rubbery and gross.

quick stop for breakfast. Good service and easy to order with ipad on each seat. I had one of the omelets with meat and veggies. I would need the menu to name it but it had sausage bacon onions and veggies. My friend had the french toast and the portion was huge. I had a few bites and it was for someone that wanted a sweet breakfast dish.

I get having iPads to order at your table, but needing them when sitting at the bar is ridiculous. This place is a prime example of society not being able to communicate human to human. Also, when you start a tab they charge it in a way that alerts your bank to fraud. I was one of multiple people who had to contact their bank while there. Real convenient. Nobody at the restaurant gave a shit about this issue. Won’t be going back. As far as food — pasta undercooked and overly priced.

Layover done right. Glass or two of muscato, plate of fries with white truffle oil finished off with white chocolate raspberry bread pudding. Calm, laid back and with it.

As good as it gets — in terms of airport restaurant/bar/lounges. I can’t think of a better experience I’ve had during a layover than sitting in a comfortable booth-style table, ample plugs for charging, bar, TV, great people watching, and an iPad that keeps you updated on your flight, as well as free access. I was here for breakfast so I can’t comment on other food items, but the breakfast was excellent. Eggs cooked to order, etc. Ordering from an iPad is perfect for those(me) who enjoy those tech advances for no-fuss ordering. Of course the servers were available and helpful at any time. The iPad didn’t seem to have pushed through my orders correctly, but the staff was quick to remedy the situation. Very clean restaurant as well, and it would be safe to say I would go out of my way in MSP to come here if I had time to kill.

The service and the general innovative idea and design was awesome and such a treat! Drink quality was excellent and our server, even though he didn’t have a whole lot to do, was up to any task.

Airport food options are definitively improving! I am of course reviewing this place in the airport context as the price would bit too expensive for a city spot! That said, I picked the place because it was right next and within clear sight of my gate. This insured me that I could relax and take time to have a real breakfast(my flight out of Montréal was way too early!) and write this review without worrying that I was missing the boarding process! On top of that, tables are all equipped with power and USB port to recharge devices for the next flight! I had two eggs(cooked to order) with toast, bacon and potatoes along with a café latte. While it was not cheap(a bit under $ 20 with taxes and service), it was pretty much in line with the other options at MSP. Ordering is done through an iPad(one at each seat) and you pay at the ordering time with a card. Service was extremely fast and the staff was super nice! Atmosphere is mellow with music that allow a conversation to be entertained and it is a very relaxing place to wait for your flight just a bit removed from the chaos of the airport!

The restaurant only had a couple of customers, so this review might be not representative of a normal evening. Nevertheless, the food and the service were fabulous. I had tomato bisque with gorganzola. The gorganzola did not overwhelm the tomatoes. It was delicious, worthy of a five star restaurant. I also had a tuna, white bean and romaine salad. It was perfect and very filling, I could not finish it. The salad had a good amount of oil in it, so avoid it if you are watching fat intake. Both dishes were a little peppery, which some people might not like, but I enjoyed it. The service was spot on — quick, helpful, joyful. The only thing I would change is to expand their entrée menu, which is pretty limited. I will return to this restaurant.

Couldn’t tell you how food was. Asked server what was quick… was told pasta took 5 minutes. 15 minutes later, no pasta and flight was boarding. Server said I had plenty of time and to sit down. He then said he would check. Few more minutes he said… then he said he would have it made to go. 5 minutes later, it comes out in a bowl. At that point, I said it was supposed to be to go and my server told me to relax, I still had plenty of time and that I should not worry about my plane. I should sit down and enjoy my lunch. I walked out having had a $ 25 glass of iced tea. The tea was good, but not $ 25 worth.

This iPad concept needs to be optional. It’s tacky, impersonal and the place looks silly with an iPad at each chair. Drinks are too expensive for measured pours. Nice staff, but again the iPad experience makes you feel like you’re in a herd or cattle just moving along with some painful prodding. Menu is boring and plastic just like this place.

As a business traveler this place gets 5 stars for concept and atmosphere. Chill and convenient — great place to relax with a beer when your flight is delayed. I had an IPA with some pasta and fennel sausage while watching UFC. Hard to believe I was at an airport. Also tons of outlets to charge your devices. It’s expensive but all those iPads don’t pay for themselves so get over it. Food is good for airport food but nothing spectacular.

Interesting and increasing concept at Delta gates where you can sit down order your meal and drinks with an iPad. While you wait for your order you can surf the web with the same iPad. There is a power outlet which includes USB connectiom for power as well. You prepay your meal and you must leave a tip in advance but this can work both ways. If you give a good tip you will get good service. If you give a bad tip, guess what you will get back service. I really enjoyed the meal and service, both top notch compared to many 5 star restaurants. On my next trip to Minneapolis I will visit this establishment again. It is worth the visit.

So the Minneapolis airport is very comfortable. The gates are like giant lounges with dozens of complementary iPads travelers can tinker with to pass the time. Volante was right off our gate(G11) and drew me in on a rainy Sunday night waiting for a plane back to Omaha. The vibe is contemporary and casual. One pretty neat-o thing is that you order your drinks and food via the iPad and credit card machine right at your table or at your seat at the bar. The bartender, who was very nice and laid back, served me up a local IPA before I put in an order for a meat and cheese plate. The food was pretty meh. A few chucks of soft, tasteless cheese, prosciutto and these cracker-bread things, all to be dipped in honey. Meh, meh, meh. Volante is a great spot to hang out and have a beer if you have some time to kill between flights in Minneapolis, but be weary of the food, it’s not as good as it might look. But hey, what do you expect, it is airport food after all.
